If I was a writer i would write a fic where in order to get donnie to be their vessel Raphael watches over him for a couple of days until one particular afternoon, while donnie works on a broken car, a streak of bad news plays through the radio on the background awakening in him the sudden urge to stop on his tracks and do everything in his reach to make things better, only to soon realise that no matter the amount of good actions he pulled off, he was just one simple mechanic and could never fix the entire world, only to later on that same night Raphael appear to him in a dream asking for his help so they could complete one of God's most important mission, one that could help save the world. Time skips to s6 in the moment where Raphael is about to be killed by castiel and the only thought that crosses their mind is the human donnie and his desire to fix the world and how they, as an old all powerfull archangel whose main job was to heal, also failed in saving the world.
