Well, welcome to Tumblr sweetie!!! We are sometimes a disaster but most times a ton of fun. I’m not sure what teams you follow but you can always check out the live blogs (i.e. #pens lb #flames lb etc) during games everyone is always friendly there.

I always feel bad when people ask me to name some of my favorite blogs because I have so many and there are some mega talented people out there, and I know I’ll forget someone. But saying that, I’ll still give you some of my favorites and hopefully y’all can add on your favorite blogs as well. So here it goes:

@luvsherleafs is the best person I know on here. She’s an amazing writer as well and the bestest friend. Love her lots 🤗💕🤗💕

@mesmerizedcrosby is a sweetheart and also the most amazing writer and person responsible for getting me to fall for Matthew Tkachuk

@reavenedges-lies is my go to for everything pens and Yotes and live blogging wouldn’t be anything with them.

@princessphilly is the queen of smutty romance and I bow down to her. She’s also fun to chat with about anything at all.

@hockeybabe87 and I have had some amazing chats about everything and every now and then she’ll whip out an amazing story

@pattiemac1 is my go to chit chatter when I want to list after hockey men. She’s also an amazing friend

@laurenairay is an absolute sweetheart and another amazing writer

@bitchinbarzal and @ilyasorokinn and I haven’t really chatted but I love their Insta edits and stories! They’re amazing

@jostyriggslover96 and I have some of the best chats and she also has amazing stories, especially about Jamie Oleksiak and Nolan

@shutupptara has the best Brandon Tanev content and I love her for it!!!

@puckngrind is an amazing writer and friend who I haven’t gotten to talk to in while and I totally miss her

@antoineroussel has single-handedly taken in the winter and summer fic exchange and is an angel for doing that. Which reminds me I need to fill out my form before I miss the date again.

I just started following @whorefortkachuk and absolutely love them. Great stories and Matthew content!!!

Apple Cinnamon Girl

For my girl Tara (@shutupptara). Hope you like it!!

You were settling into Seattle well enough, once you’d gotten over the initial feeling of betrayal by your company. Things had been working out great, and the best part was there was a bakery right next to your office. You always went there for your midday break, and you were in love with their apple cinnamon muffins. You had met the baker- Brandon- one day, and told him that the apple cinnamon ones were your favorite, and now every day when you came, he had a hot cup of coffee and one waiting for you. He always insisted that the cashiers take their break when you came in too, and if you didn’t know any better, you’d think he was trying to flirt with you and woo you with food (which was totally working). You had promised yourself work came first and you didn’t have time for anything else, but each time you went in, the more you found yourself enjoying talking with Bradon and that you looked forward to your break.

Today was not that day though- work had been a shitshow, and your boss had yelled at you for something that wasn’t even your fault. You found yourself bailing out the door for your break and making a beeline for the bakery.

“Miss Apple Cinnamon is here,” Jaden, one of the cashiers, called back as the bells on the door jingled with your arrival. Normally, you would laugh at the nickname, but today, it was the thing that made you fly off the handle.

“I have a name, you know,” you spat out as Brandon came up to the counter. Jaden put his hands up and backed away slowly. “Sorry.” He said, looking at you.

“Go take ten.” Brandon told Jaden, who nodded and left. Brandon looked over to you. “Come with me.” Brandon looked over to the other cashier, Jordan. “Ebs, you got this?”

“Yes sir!”

“Holler if you need something.” Brandon said. Brandon motioned for you to come behind the counter and into the kitchen with him.

“Figured you needed somewhere more private today.” Brandon said, handing you the muffin and coffee. “Rough day?”

“Yeah.” You said. “Wait, I’m not interrupting you, am I?”

“Nah, just got to make some banana nut muffins. You ok if I work while we talk?” he asked.

“Brandon, I can come back. You have more important things to do.” You got up, only to have him come over and give you a hug and stand there for a moment with you.

“No. Stay. I’ve waited all day to talk to you.” he said. “I like it when you come in,” he added. “Makes my day a bit brighter.”

“I like coming in too,” you said, a smile playing on your lips.

“And there’s my smiley girl.” He grinned. “What’s going on? You’re not your bubbly self.”

You took a bite of the muffin (which was amazing as always), and told him all about your day as he made his banana nut muffins.

“That sounds like a rough day,” he said.

“It is.” You admitted, “But it’s almost over. Two more hours and I get to go home.”

“Positives, right?” hes smiled, and you found yourself smiling in return, bad mood gone (at least for a few moments).

“Yeah, positives,” you agreed. You looked at your watch. “I gotta go back. I’ll pay Jaden on the way out. Thanks for the muffin and coffee, and for listening to me.”

“You’re welcome. You don’t have to pay for it,” Brandon said.

“I do.” You insisted.

“It’s on me.” He said, but when you fixed him with a look, he conceded. “Alright. Next one's on me.” He grabbed a piece of paper and scribbled a number down. “Here’s my number. Text me if you ever want to talk outside of bakery hours.”

You blushed as you took it. “Ok,” you said, putting it in your pocket. “Thanks again.”

“You’re welcome. See you tomorrow.”

“Yeah.” You walked out, paid for the food (and apologized to Jaden). You made it back to your desk. You sat there for a few minutes before deciding to go ahead and text Brandon your number. Hey. It’s apple cinnamon girl :)

Hi. Came the instant reply. Get back to work. LOL.

Yes Brandon. You giggled as you texted back. Suddenly, Seattle didn’t seem too bad after all.

That being your authentic self is the best that you can offer to people. Being who you want to be is perfectly fine, but pretending too much can be draining and cause you to spiral more than you think it will.

53.Which beliefs do you have that is most likely to be wrong?:

Once I learn to love myself fully and without remorse life will be easier, and worry-free. <- That is probably the lie I tell myself most often. That as soon as I love myself as wholly and unremorsefully as possible life will start to even out. It won't, learning to love yourself is an ongoing project and I honestly think you never do really learn to love yourself while you're learning about who you are. You overcome a lot, and things may get easier as you learn more about yourself but it never magically gets easier.

63.How confident are you, really?:

Not at all! A lot of the confidence I show here is false. I'm generally more timid in person but not to the extent most might think. I suffer from chronic mom friend, so when other people's anxieties are triggered mine tends to take a backseat until I'm alone and have time to process.

99.Do you believe in magic? Are you superstitious?:

I do believe in magics and superstitions. Maybe not to the same extent as some hockey players out there but certainly some. I'm technically a Heathen, I don't practice as often as I used to or want to but I do consider that as my faith, and a huge part of that is the beliefs of magics (sometimes beyond comprehension)
