Hong Ki-Seo, filha de Hong Pyong-Seok e Park SeolA, nasceu em 01 de novembro de 2023 em Busan, Coréia do Sul. A família se mudou para Seoul em 2005 devido ao trabalho de Pyong-Seok, que trabalhava no ramo de investimentos e conseguiu um bom cargo na Macquarie Group. Park SeolA, por sua vez, havia se formado em música e ao mudar-se, fundou seu pequeno estúdio para aulas de técnica vocal e piano.

Quando pequenina Hong Ki-Seo chamava atenção por seu visual inocente e fofo, dona de bochechas robustas e olhinhos brilhantes, seus pais até mesmo costumavam chama-la de "tokki-tokki" por sua aparência que desde sempre assemelhava-se a um coelho. Entretanto, por trás daquele rostinho fofo, encontrava-se uma garotinha determinada e intensa, até mesmo irritadiça. Aprendeu por influência de SeolA a cantar desde criança, por outro lado seu Pyong-Seok a ensinava como se organizar; criando assim uma garotinha metódica e talentosa.

E assim cresceu Kiseo, perfeccionista, metódica, calorosa e determinada. A garota tímida dona de uma voz doce mas surpreendente forte, começou a gravar covers no ano de 2013; sendo seu primeiro "Surprise Party" do grupo feminino f(x), cujo ganhou uma visibilidade relativamente grande para uma primeira experiência com isso, e o pequeno canal no YouTube gerenciado por sua mãe cresceu drasticamente e assim se estendeu até o ano de 2014. O peso do reconhecimento que teve, fez surgir dentro da garotinha um desejo enorme por buscar no mundo da música uma carreira para si e foi aí que tomou a decisão: faria um teste para tornar-se trainee. Iniciou aulas de dança ainda naquele ano, para que em 2015 entregasse um bom trabalho, perfeccionista como era, iria doar-se por completo para a realização do que planejava.

Pesquisou por diversas empresas com a ajuda de seus pais, até encontrar finalmente a Phoenix Entertainment. Inicialmente, seu visual foi a primeira coisa a chamar atenção, aquela garotinha pequena de visual inocente, com um charme evidente em cada traço de seu rosto; as bochechas robustas, doe eyes, boca pequena pequena e delicada, nariz pequeno e fofo e, por fim, seu maior charme, uma pintinha no nariz. O contraste que sua apresentação teste causou nos mentores mudou completamente a primeira impressão que seu rosto havia causado; a voz doce ainda era imatura devido a idade, mas também carregava muita densidade. Arriscou-se em níveis além do que deveria, de fato, ao chegar ali com uma música de um dos artistas de maior reconhecimento na indústria, mesmo que simplificada "Danger" do Taemin não era uma música fácil.

O timbre natural da garota, ainda que imaturo, assemelhava-se ao da LUNA, vocalista principal do grupo f(x), mas seu nível de dança ainda era fraco, apesar de limpo carregava uma leveza e feminilidade que talvez pudesse ter melhor destaque numa escolha musical diferente. Causando então uma perda grande de pontos em sua apresentação devido a estamina, ainda precisava aprender a distribuir sua energia e aquilo a perseguiu por um bom tempo; tornando a garota, agora trainee, numa pessoa ainda mais exigente.

Seu período como trainee fora complicado, conciliar a escola com a música trazia o pior de sua personalidade a tona. Trabalhar com Ki-Seo era difícil, a garota tentava buscar tanto em si quanto nas demais o melhor que pudessem entregar e nisso surgiam discussões com certa frequência, exibindo a faceta escondida de uma pessoa irritadiça e com tendências a arrogância; em contrapartida, fora dos treinos a garota de mostrava doce e calorosa mas um pouco indiferente quanto a sentimentos, sequer parecia a mesma Ki-Seo de dois anos atrás. Foi trainee por cerca de quase três anos, até ser colocada no Rising Stars.

Ki-Seo mantinha uma personalidade doce diante do público em grande parte do tempo, era muito nova, tímida, esforçada, pirracenta ao se aproximar de alguém, buscava interagir aos pouquinhos e seu visual delicado encantava facilmente; mas também recebia uma quantidade considerável de evil edits quando se mostrava irritada e acabava por revirar os olhos como meio inconsciente de mostrar seu descontentamento. Aos olhos do público, Ki-Seo não combinaria com o conceito proposto, não com aquele rosto. Mas sua voz provou o contrário, levando-a ao debut do CHAOS.

Kiseo grava vlogs com certa frequência, sempre alimentando seus fãs com bastante conteúdo e mostrando sua rotina bem organizada. Apesar do temperamento que vaga entre o fleumático e o colérico devido às irritações e a indiferença, Kiseo também se esforça para ser uma boa amiga e membro. Priorizando o convívio saudável com as garotas e cheia de manias, foi apelidada carinhosamente como "rizzseo" por sua mania de flertar ou buscar contato físico entre suas amigas e "tokki" por sua aparência semelhante a um coelho. Kiseo entrega facilmente piadas, carisma e muito fanservice. Dualidade é o ponto mais forte da Hong.

And then I... sorta went and wrote it? (I did want to make it a little ~sexy~ but then it ended up being pure fluff because apparently I can’t help myself.)

OK, so, let’s assume that YMMD will end with Shi On getting the lead role after his audition, Hong Seok getting to quit being a loan shark for good, and both of them getting to live together happily ever after. That’s what we’re all hoping and praying for anyway, right?

Shortly after the events of the series, they receive a copy of the sports catalogue for which Hong Seok modeled, courtesy of the photographer — who definitely wants to hire “Shi On” again before he gets snatched up by some big agency.

Although Hong Seok enjoyed the experience, he’s feeling a little self-conscious about letting Shi On see the pictures.

Shi On is not about to let that opportunity pass, though. He only got a glimpse of the photoshoot that one time and although he was, you know, busy having a full-on confrontation with Lee Jung Hoon, he can still remember some of it very clearly — the way Hong Seok was looking over his shoulder and all that bare, bare skin, those hard planes and soft curves…

So yeah, he wants to see it again.

Hong Seok points out that Shi On has seen it all and more by now but, “It’s not the same thing!” (And Shi On is right.)

After grappling with Hong Seok a bit, Shi On sits down at the kitchen table with the catalogue and starts leafing through it, pausing and letting out delighted exclamations whenever he spots Hong Seok — but so far, these are all just nice, run-of-the-mill sports catalogue pictures featuring him in a tracksuit.

Hong Seok’s both pleased and… well, relieved, but at the same time, part of him was a little curious to see Shi On’s reaction to his, er, sexier pictures. He knows Shi On finds him attractive but he’s right — this is not the same thing.

And then — then Shi On pauses. He lets the catalogue fall open on the table and there it is: Hong Seok in an unzipped wetsuit tied around his waist, looking back at the camera over his shoulder. There’s more in the water sports category — they had Song Heok model swim trunks and Shi On’s definitely going to get a closer look at those pictures later — but this one takes up half the spread and it is… mesmerizing.

Song Heok just looks confident in a way Shi On hasn’t seen before and it is a gorgeous look on him. They haven’t been together together for very long yet and while there’s an ease and intimacy between them that only keeps growing, that’s not a side of Song Heok Shi On’s familiar with.

And it makes Shi On want.

Shi On looks up at Song Heok, who’s standing there in the kitchen, watching Shi On watching him and feeling more than a little embarrassed. “Ooh, Mr. Loan Shark,” he says and it’s playful and suggestive and praising all at once and it’s making something flutter behind Song Heok’s ribs.

Then Shi On, grinning, whips out his phone and holds it above the catalogue to take a picture of it. Song Heok scrambles to snatch the catalogue back but Shi On’s seen him coming — by the time Song Heok’s hand hits the table, Shi On’s already standing up and holding the catalogue above his head.

Hong Seok tries to grab it but Shi On’s too swift. He leaps away from Song Heok and then leads him on a merry chase around the apartment, laughing and all but dancing away from him, gracefully eluding Hong Seok’s grasp and avoiding bumping into the furniture at the same time.

Hong Seok’s heart only beats faster at that — oh, the love he has for this beautiful man who’s moving and smiling like he doesn’t have a care in the world anymore. (And isn’t that what Hong Seok wanted for him from the beginning? For both of them, deep down — but he hadn’t dared let himself hope then.)

The chase ends in the bedroom (of course) where Hong Seok goes for broke and tackles Shi On to the bed, knowing he won’t accidentally hurt him like that.

Shi On curls in on himself on the mattress and clutches the catalogue to his chest, trying not to crease it too much, until Hong Seok finally gives up and sits up next to him.

“Fine, you can keep it.”

Shi On rolls onto his back to look back at him and Hong Seok’s gone. Shi On’s hair is mussed and his cheeks are flushed and his clothes are all rucked up and he’s smiling up at Hong Seok so brightly it’s like looking at the sun.

And then, finally, he puts the catalogue down and pulls Hong Seok in <3

September Wrap Up

Wow, guys. It’s September. And that means the Fall comeback rush! We hope all your favorite groups are making comebacks soon, and if not, keep hope because there are still a few months left in 2019!

We’ve been going strong, getting things ready for my next announcement-- WE ARE STARTING A PODCAST! The first episode will be up on October 6 with a second episode following shortly (release dates for subsequent episodes will be announced soon). The three of us have been talking about this since at least March, and we are happy to report that we are getting closer to the release!

Our aim is to release two episodes a month, the first episode will follow a looser format where we talk about a lighthearted topic, while the second episode will be more informative. In this first episode we will talk about the different ways the three of us got into KPOP! We will be on SoundCloud and eventually Spotify and iTunes. More information and links will be posted soon!

In lesser but still exciting news, we now have a Spotify! We will be putting up personally curated playlists on there so please check it out and follow us there as well!

We hope you guys will enjoy it, and if you have any topics you want us to cover let us know!

September 3, 2014: Ladies’ Code member Go Eun-bi, 21, passes away immediately following a car accident. September 7, 2014: Ladies’ Code member Kwon Rise, 23, passes away after multiple surgeries due to injuries from the same car accident.

-A Tribute To EunBi and RiSe-

EunBi and RiSe debuted in Ladies’ Code as a part of the original five-member lineup in 2013. EunBi was known for her sweet personality and sense of humor. RiSe was a humble beauty queen with a heart of gold. Together, these two were known for their close friendship. After EunBi and RiSe’s passing, the fans and remaining members of the group examined Ladies’ Code’s discography under a different lens, and the remaining members came to earn quite a bit of respect for how they handled their loss. EunBi and RiSe are greatly missed by fans who still celebrate their birthdays every year.

BTS will not attend the ‘2019 MBC Gayo Daejejeon’

BTS will be missing this year’s MBC Gayo Daejejeon.

On December 18, MBC have officially announced the theme, and the full line-up of artists that are set to attend this year’s Gayo Daejejeon.

Hosted by Girls’ Generation’s YoonA, ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo, and Jang Sung Kyu, the theme for this year’s event is going to be “The Chemistry”, and the artists that are set to attend the aforementioned event are; AOA, DAWN, GOT7, ITZY, MONSTA X, NCT DREAM, NCT 127, Stray Kids, TWICE, Guckkasten, Super Junior’s Kyuhyun, Kim Jaehwan, NORAZO, NU’EST, Lovelyz, Red Velvet, Mamamoo, Sung Si Kyung, Seventeen, Celeb Five, Song Ga In, ASTRO, (G)I-DLE, Oh My Girl, WJSM, Lee Seok Hoon, Jang Woo Hyuk, Chungha, SHINee’s Taemin, HyunA and Hong Jin Young.

It has been reported a few days prior that BTS’ attendance for the said event are still not finalized, and fans are still left expectant.

However, much to fans’ dismay, BTS won’t be able to attend this year’s Gayo Daejejeon.

A representative of MBC stated that BTS won’t be able to participate in this year’s Gayo Daejejeon due to their overseas schedule (Dick Clark's New year's Rockin' Eve).

The 2019 MBC Gayo Daejejeon will be held on December 31, at exactly 8:55 PM KST.

I preferiti del mese #5: Maggio

Maggio è sempre stato il mio mese preferito vuoi per quella predisposizione tipicamente umana per cui amiamo follemente il mese del nostro compleanno, vuoi perché tradizionalmente è il mese della primavera più bella, vuoi perché le giornate sono sempre più lunghe, la luce si scalda, l’atmosfera inizia a vestirsi d’estate. Maggio è quel mese in cui mi è sempre sembrato tutto possibile, anche quando effettivamente non lo era. Viverlo in quarantena è stato estremamente demotivante. Non solo i giorni mi si sono consumati tra le mani senza lasciarmi neanche il tempo di dirmi “ah sta per arrivare il mio compleanno” che era già passato, ma anche perché ancora una volta questo 2020 si sta rivelando assolutamente assolutamente sconvolgente e pericoloso.

Di quello che è successo in America con le proteste che stanno diventando sempre più accese e con l’ampliarsi del movimento del Black Lives Matter, ho provato a parlarvi in questo post completamente inadeguato ma che mi sono sentita di pubblicare. Ma di tragedie in giro per il mondo ce ne sono parecchie: in Iran da giorni sono in atto delle proteste per la morte di Romina Ashrafi, una ragazzina decapitata nel sonno lo scorso 21 maggio. La ragazza era scappata con un uomo ed era dunque “colpevole” di aver disonorato la famiglia. Ad Hong Kong continuano le proteste ma la Cina ha fatto una proposta di legge per aumentare il potere del governo cinese in materia di sicurezza nazionale. In tutto questo pare ci sia un nuovo focolaio di Ebola nella Repubblica Democratica del Congo, giusto per non farci mancare niente.

Nel mio piccolo io lavoro ancora da remoto, almeno fino a settembre dicono, e smanio per poter affacciarmi di nuovo nel mondo. Sto iniziando a mettere il naso fuori di casa nonostante le mie preoccupazioni, e sto iniziando ad organizzare viaggi fuori dai confini del Piemonte. Vorrei andare a casa dei miei. Vorrei vedere i miei amici. Ce la faremo, lentamente, ma ce la faremo.

Comunque, per cambiare le carte in tavola e dare una rinfrescata a questo blog, da inizio anno ho deciso di portare qui su questo spazio di web una delle rubriche che più mi piace guardare su Youtube e che sostanzialmente dimostra che non mi so inventare niente, ma che amo inglobare nel mio modo di essere espressioni, modi e idee che mi colpiscono l’immaginario. “I preferiti del mese” è un format che forse non si presta molto alla parola scritta ma ci proviamo, che tanto se non funziona lo facciamo funzionare a modo nostro.

MUSICA

Ah vorrei tanto dire che a maggio non ho ascoltato BTS, ma mentirei, però ho deciso di non rendere questo spazio monotematico su Kim Seok-Jin, o rendere la mia vita monotematica su Jin se per questo, visto che molto del count delle visualizzazioni su Youtube e stream su Spotify è dato dal mio ascolto compulsivo, ma credo che me ne devo fare una ragione. Comunque prima di passare oltre vorrei fare una menzione speciale per Answer: Love Myself con cui posso riassumere il giorno del mio compleanno (grazie amiche, siete il mio RJ).

Ormai nel mondo del kpop ci sono dentro con tutte le scarpe, ma non mi sono mai fermata a delle etichette. In genere se una canzone mi piace, mi piace a prescindere e finisce diretta nella mia playlist senza farmi troppe domande. La riscoperta del mese riguarda quindi gli Stray Kids altro gruppo koreano di cui non so ancora benissimo riconoscere i membri ma di cui ascolto in loop Hellevator. Grande entrata nella mia playlist anche di Zombie dei Day6. Tra una ripetizione di Ridere dei Pinguini Tattici Nucleari e un’altra, non mi sono fatta mancare neanche Never not di Lauv.

LIBRI

Forse sono uscita dal blocco del lettore ma non voglio dirlo a voce troppo alta. Ho provato a parlarne in questo post in cui effettivamente cerco di darmi delle motivazioni e riassumo un po’ la mia quarantena. E ne sono uscita leggendo Il respiro del tempo di Alessia Litta di cui vi ho parlato in anteprima qui sul blog. Il vero libro di maggio però resta Gli umani di Matt Haig uno sci-fi che illumina davvero su cosa significa essere un umano. È una storia bellissima, che tocca il cuore, di cui spero di parlarvi presto. Se so ancora come si fa.

FILM & SERIE TV

Con il Team Drama Club abbiamo finito di vedere Itaewon Class con lo spettacolare Park Seo Joon e un cast meraviglioso compreso quello che per me sarà per sempre Piccolo Jin (la SOMIGLIANZA tra Kim Dong-hee e Kim SeokJin, Jin dei BTS è allucinante), e di cui mi sono completamente innamorata.

Le vicende ruotano tutte intorno al protagonista che si ritrova a covare desideri di vendetta contro il presidente della Jangga, azienda leader nel settore food, grazie ad una speciale salsa inventata, a quanto pare, proprio dal presidente. Il ragazzo ha un passato complicato e subisce ben più di una battuta d’arresto (viene espulso da scuola, arrestato per aggressione) ma progetta e porta avanti un piano per raggiungere il suo obiettivo finale. In questa impresa che inizia con l'apertura di pub a Itaewon, il DanBam, il protagonista maschile non è solo ma è accompagnato dai suoi fidati collaboratori, che tra una disavventura e un successo, un sabotaggio e una scoperta, arriveranno lì dove nessuno avrebbe mai immaginato o anche solo sognato di arrivare. Tra scene comiche e altre struggenti, una soundtrack meravigliosa, mascherine di maiale sugli occhi e le certezze di Joonie che oscillano inevitabilmente tra la corsa e il cibo, il drama vola via, anche se affronta temi complessi sia di un quartierie cosmopolita come può essere Itaewon, sia della cultura coreana, sia della vita di cinque giovani che devono mettercela tutta per emergere. Lo trovate su Netflix e ve lo consiglio tantissimo.

BEAUTY

Ho iniziato a usare la maschera peel off per punti neri di Sephora che se la cercate è la prima che viene fuori, che avevo abbandonato nel cassetto del make up e mai utilizzato. Quando aprite il tubo e iniziate a spalmarvi il prodotto sulla faccia vi sembra di respirare catrame ma devo dire che fa il suo lavoro. La pelle resta liscia e poi strappare via il peel off dalla faccia da molta soddisfazione.

CIBO

Durante la quarantena per consolarmi dalle mie nottate solitarie o quando la spesa giungeva agli sgoccioli ma potevo ancora sopravvivere con quello che avevo in casa, ma avevo finito i biscotti ho perfezionato questa ricetta di una torta alle pere e cacao che può essere anche adattata alle mele e può essere adattata anche senza cacao se non vi piace. È una quantità sufficiente per farci un paio di colazioni abbondanti e uno spuntino. È scalabile, quindi basta raddoppiare le dosi per farne di più (ho testato anche il raddoppio). Le dosi sono in cucchiai perché io non ho una bilancia, quindi o faccio ad occhio o rapporto tutto in cucchiai. 1 cucchiaio in genere sono circa 15 grammi di farina o 10 grammi di zucchero. Più o meno.

Ingredienti:

1 uovo

3 cucchiai pieni di farina (se non volete il cacao usate 6 cucchiai)

3 cucchiai rasi di zucchero

2 cucchiai di olio di semi

2/3 cucchiai di cacao

2 cucchiai di rhum (e un po’ buttato a occhio)

Mezza bustina di lievito

1 pera (o una mela messa in un po’ di succo di limone, si sta bene con il rhum)

Procedimento:

Montate l’uovo con lo zucchero, quando si è sciolto bene aggiungete farina, cacao e lievito e mescolate. Poi incorporate l’olio e il rhum. Mischiate tutto bene e infine aggiungete la pera tagliata a pezzetti. Più è matura la pera più viene buona la torta. Mettete in una tortiera e infornate per un 25 minuti a 180°. Controllate ogni tanto, fate la prova dello stuzzicadenti (o uno spaghetto), se viene fuori asciutto è pronta. Fate raffreddare.

Se la fate fatemi sapere come viene. Di solito quando faccio la pizza faccio anche questa. Ci vuole pochissimo a farla.

Su Spotify trovate la versione ebook di Stamped from the Beginning – The Definitive History of Racist Ideas in America di IBRAM X. KENDI (in inglese, sorry). Questo libro ha vinto il National Book Award for Nonfiction nel 2016 e racconta di come si è sviluppato il razzismo.

Una delle mie amiche del gruppo delle Merendine in viaggio, ha aperto un blog Lisa e il Giappone dove racconta la cultura del paese in cui si trova in questo momento e lo fa con il suo garbo e la sua ironia e io semplicemente la adoro.

I miei adorati Space Valley hanno inaugurato un podcast, Il Nocciolo, un delirio come possono esserlo solo loro, e hanno annunciato nel mio immenso lutto, l’uscita di Dario dal gruppo. Non rilascerò commenti a riguardo. Quindi questo è quello che si prova quando il tuo gruppo preferito fa disbanding, e se ne va proprio il tuo preferito.
