#sibling reader
Note
Hii! How are you?
I was hoping you could do a one shot or hcs for a platonic/sibling PJO thing with Percy. I was thinking this kid shows up at camp-half-blood (their age being like 11-13) and being like a carbon copy of Percy and everyone notices except for him. They become pretty close and during a capture the flag game the Reader gets claimed by Poseidon, and Percy is just in shock like: 😲 holy moly
I think it would be really cute and I love big bro Percy
The reader is gender neutral
This is completely /nf and feel free to delete it if you don't want to! Thank you so much! Remember to drink water and take care of yourself!

Ahhh this is actually such a cute IDEA-
Tumblr media
Percy With a Child Of Poseidon Reader...
Tumblr media
When you showed up to camp, no one really thought much of it.
The Titan war was over, demi-gods were showing up left and right, getting claimed along the way.
The thing that was weird was your lack of the latter.
Weeks after you arrived you were still unclaimed, with no change in sight.
It frustrated Percy because the gods had literally JUST promised not to leave any kids unclaimed.
As a result, he decided to spend time with you, just because he noticed you were feeling slightly put out at your lack of a godly parent.
Percy seemed to be the only one who hadn't noticed that the two of you next to each other was like looking back and forth between a mirror of features.
Everyone else did though.
Annabeth really did try to just- nudge him in the direction that MAYBE POSSIBLY-
But no, Percy was as oblivious as a blind cat after you moved the furniture.
Honestly he liked hanging out with you.
It made him feel good to know he was keeping you occupied instead of thinking about not being claimed.
He felt like an older brother ironically enough.
He had you sit with him during meals, and during activities he was with the Hermes cabin most of the time to help you.
Your very first capture the flag was exciting for him,
Him helping you put on your armor before plopping am oversized helmet on your head was like a mother watching their watching their child ride a bike for the first time.
He was so proud!
Sure you tripped over yourself and fell on your face, but that's okay! Everyone stumbles sometimes!
You're doing great!
Honestly, it was his fault for not helping you tie your shoes.
It was safe to say, the two of you had sufficiently bonded.
Which must have been the reason Poseidon decided to claim you now of all times.
He must really like capture the flag if that's how he claimed both his kids.
Percy was floored, and incredibly confused.
Everyone else was more or less like, "yeah saw that one coming." and you were trying to look up at the floating trident over your head through your helmet.
Percy feeling a whirlwind of emotions.
Confusion, excitment, slight frustration- but mostly excitement.
He was confused as to how as a child of Poseidon you'd managed to stay alive this long.
Unless your mortal parent had also kept a Gabe around to hide your demigod smell.
The thought made him wince.
He was practically vibrating when he showed you around Cabin 3.
You'd seen it before, sure, but now it was your cabin as much as his.
He wouldn't be sleeping alone anymore and he was exstatic about it.
And he can't wait to introduce you to Tyson too.
And his mom, oh she's gonna love you.
Especially if your mortal parent isn't in the picture either by choice or tradgedy.
Percy was gonna be the best big brother ever, it was his job to protect you now, so he would.
Tumblr media
Ta-da! This is legit, the first thing I have posted in FOREVER holy shit, it felt SO good to write this out, like-
Anyway, all done! Here you go, I wanted to keep going but I figured it was long enough lol

Not Tonight
[Platonic! Yandere! Neglectful Batfam × Gender Neutral! Sibling Reader]
[Warnings: Mentions of Neglect, Reader generally not having a good time.]
(Not proofread. Not too much Yandere shown. Mostly angst with Reader. Set up(?))
2nd part here.
๑۩۞۩๑————————————————————๑۩۞۩๑
How many times have you heard them say that? How many times have you tried to do something with them, to share your passion — or even just have some coffee with them, only to hear them say that phrase time and time again.
"Not tonight."
Well, what if you didn't ask them during the night? What if you asked them in the afternoon, or just when they were already up and about?
"Sorry! I can't right now, patrol reeeally kicked my ass last night. Besides, I have some other things that I have to get done, but maybe next time! For sure!"
Okay, right. That makes sense. Sometimes their line of work can be tough and draining, especially when someone is trying to run Gotham to the ground that night. So what if you just try to ask them when they aren't so busy? It may really limit the times you can ask... but you'd still try. Maybe it could also help if you asked for smaller things, like if they'd just like to spend a little time with you before going out again, or if you could just hang around them for a while? Nothing big, and anything was fine. Even if it was just sitting next to them, and having some small talk. Or maybe just the sitting part if talking was too much.
You'd take anything at all.
"I'm actually heading out right now, so I can't stick around. Go ask someone else."
"Can't you see that I already have enough compang with Titus here? Go bother Drake or something, I don't care."
All you could hear was snores past the door when you went to ask. So you moved onto someone else, hoping for a yes as your heart began to squeeze.
Someone had to agree eventually, right?
You begged the Gods as you traveled down the long halls. The chills of reality creeping up on you.
"Sorry, I'm going out to hang with some friends, but maybe next time!"
"..." She just looked at you before shaking her head, and taking her leave.
"I've got something to do at the moment, sorry, but hey, maybe you could ask your old man? Oh! Or maybe Alfred. That's a good idea."
Dick was out in Bludhaven, and you didn't want to bother Barbara considering how bisy she must've been the other night. So, you had no other choice. You asked, heart bleeding from how hard it squeezed.
"Not now."
Simple, to the point, and sharp.
Bruce's words were as cold as ever, and yet the echo in the cave only seemed to make the gap between you and him feel so much bigger. Even as you just nodded, eyes pointed to the floor. Taking your leave with a soft sigh that barely escaped you.
The elevator ride was longer than you remembered. The cold chill in the air grew freezing even as you stepped out, and now stood in one of the many halls in the Wayne Manor. Portraits and pictures decorated the walls, their painted and photographed eyes staring at you. Their gaze far from soft, but at least it was present. At least they, in that way, felt present.
You swore the only times they ever smiled at you that wasn't faked, or just for the sake of appearances was in those paintings and photos. Honestly, it was also probably the most times they've even looked at you too, and as sad as it is — you did say you'd take anything, right?
A 'no' or 'maybe' was part of that anything, technically. It's just not what you were hoping for.
Sighing again, you stared up at one of the portraits, eyes shinging under the lights as everything you refused to say made itself so clear for a moment. You didn't want much, and never asked for more than what you were given. You didn't think so anyway.
You always followed the rules, you did more than just excel in all your classes no matter how hard it was for you to understand certain things, and you even tried to get into things your family seemed to enjoy without pushing too hard.
You studied up on all the pets Damian had so that you could not only care for them properly, but maybe even take care of them with him some day. You played games and read reviews on games you saw Tim play just for a chance that maybe you'd get the opportunity to play with him. You picked up boxing and have even been practicing your aim with an airsoft gun, and have also been going to certain place when you could to practice using real guns and learn about them just so you'd maybe be able to have a conversation with Jason, and even connect with him in some way. You even read nearly all the books in the library just to have a sliver of hope for something, anything.
You learned sign language in three different languages and tried to find out what Cassandra was interested in, just to have some kind of interaction with her. Even writing on small note cards in serval other languages in hopes she'd give some kind of response, even if you forgot to put your initials and such more than several times. You participated in gymnastics in hopes of getting closer to Dick. You tried to find out what Barbra was into so you could also hold up a conversation with her if given the chance. You've tried to match Stephen's energy and do things she likes and have even taken up material arts as a means to maybe be a little closer with everyone!
Yet it never seems like enough.
Your schedule was so packed and filled with activities and extra lessons of all kinds, just so that you could feel like you had something in common with someone in this family. So that, when given the chance, you'd be able to form a connection with one of them and your efforts and sacrifices wouldn't be in vain. Though that still had yet to happen.
You weren't even a vigilante as you tried to persue your own passion and dreams, and yet that one single thing seemed to be keeping you away from everyone else. The one thing you were unwilling to do for them just seemed to make the gap between you and the rest of the family grow bigger. They're constant and continuous dismissals only seemed to further that point.
Just... what were you doing wrong? Was you not being a vigilante and constantly putting yourself at risk every night really putting that much of a dent in your relationships? Did your dreams really get in the way of that? Just because you didn't want to put yourself in danger? Just because you wanted to pursue music instead?
You took up art despite not being super interested in it before. You've been reading all of your life. Your stretched, ran, exercised, cooked, cleaned, organized, sang, wrote, danced, and even sculpted. You picked up almost any hobby someone could have under the sun, even if it began to feel like a chore and a job to you, just so that you could have something, anything in common with this family.
Though now you've gone through countless 'hobbies', and dropped many more since nothing seemed to be working, it... it still didn't feel like enough. Like you had to be doing something more despite having lost countless hours of sleep, just to go through the list of hobbies you had written down that you had left to try. You even took up some sports you were somewhat interested in, and yet nothing clicked.
Though is that really surprising when no one noticed how many times you snuck out for lessons and practice, or how long you were out? When you'd even forget to return to the Manor sometimes, and anyone still had yet to notice you were even gone in the first place?
... You couldn't help the small chuckle that escaped you. It was broken in every way, and yet empty all the same. Maybe you were finally taking after Bruce, but you wouldn't get your hopes up.
You looked up at the painting as if it'd give you all the answers, and yet dismiss you at the same time. The disappointment you felt was normal to you at this point, but the aching pain that came after was always the hardest part. Yet you still stared at the painted faces as if they were your real family, and the people close to them. Looked at the calculated and skilled brush strokes as if they'd give you what your family couldn't. What they refused to give you at every twist and turn, no matter how much you tried to accommodate to them. To do things for them. To just feel worthy enough to stand by their side. To be closer to them.
Though in the end, it is only that. A painting. A well crafted piece that, no matter how skilled the artist, could never truly capture how distant and vague they felt when you were the one standing to the side. No matter how much experience the painter had, they'd never be able to express and show how this poor excuse of a family felt to you, because they were only like that around you.
Maybe you'd feel special if it didn't make you feel like you were wasting your life living like this...
Eventually, you were able to tear you eyes away from the painting. The moon beginning to rise as you were sure the Manor was becoming more empty than it usually was, as more of its visitors and residents left.
The painting itself was nice even if it was one of many that didn't include you, with the number of photographs without you in them being much higher. Honestly, it used to be one of your favorites despite how bittersweet you feel about it now.
You still remember that day, but that would be implying that you forgot the others.
Regardless, you managed to pull yourself away from the spot you had been stuck in for the few moments you were trapped inside your own head. You tried to make yourself feel a little better, and give yourself some reassurance that maybe tomorrow would be different some how, and if not? Perhaps the day after, and the day after that.
Yet it all failed as you passed by more and more memories. Some were events you had participated in, sure, but the pictures made it look like you were never there in the first place. Heartwarming moments littered the halls, but you only recall seeing them from a distance — or being aware that the moment had even happened only when you saw the picture be put up.
It was like the very universe was trying to send you a sign with your constant failures and your family's persistence, intentional or not, to keep you at a distance. You didn't even know if it was appropriate to refer to them as your 'family', and maybe it wasn't considering things, but you still weren't sure.
You had been fighting for a chance to talk with any of them about anything at all for the longest time, because you wanted to be a part of this family. You wanted to spend time with them and really give this 'new life' of yours a chance, but now that 'new' part of this life had worn off. It was hard and honestly more draining than it was rewarding at this point, but you still wanted to give it a try.
Sure, it had been years at this point and now you were just about to go into college, and when you had first arrived here you weren't even middle school, yet little to no progress had been made — you never gave up. You haven't given up. So maybe you could try for a little longer? Just... a little bit, not too much this time, and figure something out?
You almost felt a little sense of hope return to you, no matter how redundant and helpless this situation felt and seemed. Yet it all came crumbling down again when you passed by one of the rooms, and saw something taped to the door.
It was a flier for your performance. One that would be happening soon.
Since your siblings began to pay less and less attention to you as time went on, with your conversations with them growing even shorter, you opted to just tape fliers of your upcoming performances on their doors. Though only the performances you'd thought they'd enjoy, and just hoped that they would show up, if they wanted to, when you stepped onto that stage and approached the instrument you'd be playing for the evening.
You tried texting and other forms of communication at first, but those quickly stopped working and so you just opted for this, and of course it was just as effective as the others.
Alfred was really the only one who listened to your music when you performed, and you only knew that because you caught him playing one of the live performances you had done on the television one day. He not only going out of his way to record the performance, but also trying to find the channel it was broadcasted on.
Ever since you've tried to give him the correct channel number when you do live performances, but that still didn't feel like enough. You loved and appreciated Alfred from the depths of your heart and soul, but what would it take for one of your siblings or close family friends to notice you like that? What would it take for your supposed father to even care to listen to your music? To watch a performance? To not turn you away?
It was only in that moment did a new emotion fuel you. Crawling it's way up your spine as you carefully took the flier in your hands, looking it over before ripping it off the door.
This. This one small thing was all you wanted from them. Over everything else, you just wanted to see one of their faces, one time when you looked out to the crowd when you performed — but every single time, all you saw were strangers.
Every charity event, every gala, every party- that's all you were surrounded by, strangers. Even when you caught small glimpses of them, they were always doing something else, and completely off in a totally different world than your own. That distance along creating a large void-like gap between you and them, and yet it only ever continued to grow. Even when they stood next to you, it was like you couldn't be further apart.
The reality of everything was crushing. Near deadly as you could feel your chest and lungs tighten, with your fingers digging into the paper enough to tear it apart, and reaching your palms as they formed crescent moons, soon drawing blood. Yet nothing could compare to the weight of your heart, and how heavy it felt to carry in your chest.
As you finally moved on from the door, your mind raced. Memories and flashbacks filling your head as every word and notion flashed before your eyes. Barely even paying attention to where you were going, but not caring enough to pay attention.
Every dismissal and excuse thrown your way. Every head shake and blank look. Every confused look, and realization that you were standing there the entire time. Every birthday that passed with the same wish never being granted. Every celebration spent on your own. Every message left on read. Every note ignored. Every time you were forgotten. Every time you were left behind. Every time you brought yourself home, and every time they never noticed. Every night wasted, trying to come up with different things to do only for all of them to turn out fruitless. Everyday that 'maybe' never cones true. Every time you looked out to that sea of strangers, hoping to see someone you recognized, only to find none. Every hour you wasted trying to do something for them while they never once thought of you.
Maybe you'd cry if you could. Then again, maybe not.
You already had spent too many tears over failures you recovered and grew from, and hardships you faced and fought. You've already cried just a little too much during those night you just couldn't handle being so alone, in such a big place anymore. Besides, you've cried enough over people who've never once thought of you. Who never once tried to make time to even see one of your performances, or even allow you to spend a few minutes in their space.
You've given them enough, you think. Especially since after you spent years trying to just make it two thirds of the way — they couldn't even reach that one third of the gap you couldn't. They didn't even try, at least not anymore, and after you had tried to make it easy. Yet, you only hurt yourself in the end.
They never cared about you, and maybe they did once upon a time, but good does that do now when you're trying to go out of your way to make things convenient and easier for them, only for them to skip out on you anyway. No text, no call, no message, no indication, nothing. Just pure silence.
Maybe you were asking for too much, but was it really so bad to want to be loved? And by the people who are supposed to be your family no less?
Hah, who are you kidding at this point. You've just been living in a house full of strangers, and you're the only one who hasn't seen it yet. They've already long since cast you out, and it's only now have you come to truly realize it.
Especially now, as you stand in front of the foot of the door to the music room. Staring at the knob as if it'll turn itself.
You weren't surprised, honestly. Playing music had quickly become an amazing outlet for you, and you had always come here to seek out what little your family couldn't give you; comfort. So it was no wonder that as you collapsed mentally, you had subconsciously brought yourself here.
And yet, only one thought entered your head in that moment.
'They don't deserve to hear my music.'
Perhaps it was now that you decided they had lost the privilege to do so. After all, ever since you had started having performances, even ones in front of wealthy crowds, your 'family' had seemingly been avoiding them like the plague. Never daring to even attend one, for whatever reason, and sure you could understand why they didn't attend the ones you performed at night — but they couldn't use that excuse anymore. You have strictly been playing during the after noon, and at sunset at a push, for over three years now. You've been playing in front of crowds and releasing music for four.
So, you turned away, walking off to your room as your thoughts still stormed. Anger fueling you as you barely remembered storming into your room, collecting any valuables and belongings you had and stuffing them into a bag or two. Not caring about clothes, and only what you deemed important and meaningful to yourself as you just grabbed and shoved everything into a bag if you could.
You could clearly tell now that you obviously weren't wanted, and that no one here even wanted to do the smallest things with you. That even asking to just spend a few minutes with them was too much. So you were doing the only sensible thing, and getting the hell out of here. Moving so quickly that your breathing became uneven, but you didn't stop until you had packed everything you needed, or was important to you in some way.
You only really had a second thought about all this when you were at your window, just about ready to jump out until you paused for a second.
Looking back at the door to your room, you couldn't help but hesitate. There was only ever one person in this entire Manor who treated you like family, and actually put in effort to not only be with you, but to indulge themself in your passion. That met you at the half way mark, and even went a little over sometimes. Since even if everyone else had ignored you — Alfed was there, even if despite all of his efforts you still couldn’t handle this, and maybe that was also your own fault in some way.
You still didn't want to stay, you couldn't anymore, but shouldn't you at least say goodbye? Maybe? After everything... at least he tried.
...
You settled for second best.
Quickly, you grabbed a flashcard and wrote down something before pocketing it and moving back to the window. You may not have any equipment for this kind of thing, but you still managed to scale and work your way around the wall, and managed to reach the window to Alfred's room.
You took a little peak inside, and when you saw that he wasn't there, you opened up the window just a bit, place the small note on the windowsill, and closed it. Then, you skillfully and carefully made your way down, and snuck off to Gotham City. Making your way to a friend's place as you crashed there for the night.
Never once did you look back.
Nor did you ever feel inclined to.
------
Later that night, when Alfred read the note, all it said was:
I'm sorry, Alfed. - Y/n
Just with that alone, it was like he understood everything despite the little that was said. All he could wish you was luck, and that you'd be safe wherever you went.
Suddenly, just like that. The nights where melodies would lull the residence of the Manor to sleep, and bring a temporary, mellow peace to all who heard such a tune, were long gone...
Guess they'll just have to find it, and bring it back.
--------
Kind of rushed at the end there, hope it isn't too bad for a first post. There's probably a lot of mistakes, so apologies for that.

★。/can i be a hero too?\。★
Tumblr media
ask: "I have a really cute request, Bakugou from Bnha with a little sibling reader. They weren't able to get a babysitter and Bakugou bring his little sibling to school, the reader is the complete opposite of him though"
pairing: bakugo x gn!sibling!reader
fandom: boku no hero academia
word count: 1,196
tw: none! purely some platonic, wholesome fluff. of course, a bit of cussing from bakugo but that comes with the territory
notes: thanks for being one of my first requests anon! it was really fun to get back into writing fanfic, and bnha is one of my favourite animes so writing this was a lot of fun - i just hope i did it well and you enjoy reading! i used primarily they/them pronouns for the sibling just in case ;)
! this is a repost from my other blog !

‘Can’t we just hire that old fucking neighbour?!’
Mitsuki doesn’t even bother smacking her son this time, too busy fixing up the bento box she has already begun making in the kitchen. Rice and egg and soft pretzels which [Y/N] always insisted on. The same thing everyday, which Katsuki found increasingly frustrating. Their name is painted on the lid, which sits on the sink.
It’s one of the only memories that Mitsuki repeatedly brags about to her mom friends. How her son eagerly decorated a bento box for his anticipated sibling, and how he ended up despising them when born. That’s what it looked like anyway
‘She’s too old for [Y/N], you know this.’ Mitsuki snaps, snapping on the box lid. ‘They’ll get bored if they have to sit in her living room all day.’
‘The place smells like shit too.’
‘Katsuki!’ This time she does hit him.
‘It’s just one day. All you have to do is keep them busy for a while, and they’ll find a way to occupy themselves for the rest of your classes.’
Mitsuki packs the bento box and several colouring books and pencil sets into a tiny school bag that’s been sitting open on the dining room table. Just as [Y/N] comes skipping into the room in an All-Might tracksuit that they demanded they ‘had to have’ when they saw it at a convention a while ago.
‘Aren’t you so pretty, hun?’ Mitsuki coos at - arguably - her favourite child. ‘Guess what?’
[Y/N] mumbles something around a mouthful of a soft pretzel. Where’d they even get it from?
‘You’re going to school with Katsuki today!’
Oh shit their face got a fuck ton more bright when he looked down again. Even the mention of U.A on any given day made them bounce around while babbling about how they’d love to be a hero when they got their quirk.
‘Really?’ [Y/N] attaches themself to his leg, bouncing up and down to make sure they’ve heard Mitsuki just right.
She glares at him when [Y/N] looks away.
‘Yeah, yeah, whatever.’
* *
No one’s expecting anything entirely different when Aizawa starts class that morning. The only thing that seems slightly out of the ordinary is Bakugo being late. Kirishima is counting through the minutes and soon enough a whole half hour passes without him being there to yell at anyone. Even Midoriya is having a particularly stress-free morning!
However, no one was expecting for him to parade into the class an hour later with a six year old sitting on his shoulders, because (as he said) “they didn’t want to use their damn legs”.
‘Bakubro,’ Kaminari is already laughing his ass off in the back corner. ‘Ya got a hitchhiker there.’
Bakugo is almost fuming by the time he drops off the child at his desk, standing by Aizawa to demand - or ask - that he ignore the situation. Number one, [Y/N] got a day off school because of a downtown villain attack, and Mitsuki couldn’t find a babysitter after their current one caught the flu. With no other options and both of his parents going to work early that morning, he had no choice but to drag them along as long as, and quote:
‘You don’t make a damn noise, and no questions, and no playing around, you sit down and shut up.’
Did [Y/N] listen? Nope. Not really.
Halfway through the first lesson of the morning, and little [Y/N] is sitting in the lap of half of his classmates, messing with Hagakure’s invisible hair in utter curiosity, and playing heroes with Midoriya and Kirishima. At which point they all stand on their desks and put their fists in the air yelling ‘Detroit Smash’!
Katsuki just stands and watches as [Y/N] jumps from person to person, playing with quirks and planning out their future hero name. Kaminari is the most excited to stand on his desk and create a fake hero mask out of tape and paper, and theorise all the new quirks that could be made for [Y/N].
‘[Y/N] sit down for God’s sake!’ he growls at them, and they do so as they nestle themselves into a corner of his desk. Katsuki squeezes on with her. ‘No more talking to these... damn extras during class, ok?’
Mitsuki would skin him alive if he even thought about swearing properly in the same room as her “precious angel”.
‘But why?’
‘’Cause it’s annoying.’
[Y/N]’s eyes widen a bit, but then they beam at him and nod again, picking up a pencil as if they actually are a student and begin doodling a picture while others begin homework. Aizawa doesn’t collapse into his sleeping bag this time, instead keeping an eye to ensure he isn’t sued later for the death of an unrelated child. Midoriya and Iida are the first ones to finish of course, followed by Katsuki, who has to steal his pages when [Y/N] isn’t looking, handing it across the teacher’s desk with glitter flowers and stars in the margins.
The bell goes to signal the beginning of their hero training, and [Y/N] clutches Katsuki’s hand as they shyly approach the scary-looking racoon man to hand him a (“professionally signed”) artwork by [Y/N] Bakugo. A misshapen house with a cat and a very dead looking racoon.
(Aizawa does frame it later, like a dad of course.)
(Katsuki does call his teacher roadkill exactly three times after that.)
For hero training All-Might stands with his hands on his hips with [Y/N] at his side to help conduct the lesson. Together they order drills and [Y/N] gets to practise their hero voice and pose. The class ends with the whole group playing games and kicking a soccer ball around so they can pretend that [Y/N] has to save it from various situations. Which they do so successfully - “a top-rate hero” in All-Might’s words.
* *
For Katsuki, he’s glad to get home and die in bed when 8:30 rolls around. It’s been non-stop questions and poking and prodding even though he told [Y/N] not to, but they wouldn’t listen! And when they got home Mitsuki hounded him to make sure they hadn’t done anything stupid while at school.
But 9 rolls around and [Y/N]’s socks cast shadows over the door frame, and the door handle jiggles. Katsuki waits and doesn’t move to help them with it. They come padding in with a stuffed Midnight plush, and crawls onto his pillow.
‘Kat, can I come to school with you everyday?’
And god-fucking-dammit, they look so damn excited to go to school with their big brother that all he can do is turn off his lamp and pull the covers up and pat their hair. He can feel his chest swell with pride, because his sibling wants to come and watch him become a hero.
He can’t help but wonder what kind of hero [Y/N] will be. What would their quirk be?
Oh, Mitsuki would kick his ass if he even thought about surpassing his own sibling.
He smirks at the thought. His sibling would be the best hero at U.A, not like those fucking extras.
‘Yeah, whatever.’

You guys all love each other though so it's okay
Just the vibes of being their older sibling would be the most competitive basic sibling rivalry type stuff yk
Lloyd
Constantly doting over him
You might as well be his parental figure since MISAKO AND GARMADON WERE THE WORSTTTTT
You and Kai take turns mother henning him
You and Kai are bffs btw like. I don't make the rules. Kai is just his adoptive older brother in my head, so you two bond over caring for Lloyd
Definitely his comfort person after a long day <3
You're the one Lloyd trusts the most in his life and he isn't scared to tell you his fears because, despite any assumed sibling teasing, he knows you'll take him seriously on that regard
Jay
You guys make annoying each other a full time job
Constantly fighting over who the favorite is
Y/N: At least I help out at the junkyard!!
Jay: I'm literally out saving the world everyday!!!
*aggressive slap fight ensues*
OMG no. he's definitely the younger sibling to pull the rapid fire kick tactic
His elemental abilities go out the window when y'all fight. Just straight up, falls on his back and starts kicking up at you
All fun n games until you're able to catch one of his legs
You totally embarrass him as much as you can in front of Nya too
As Jay's older sibling, you're legally obligated to be Cole's bestie since Cole is Jay's bestie. you guys lovingly torment the lightning user together <33
Cole
The most chill sibling duo to ever exist
you both didn't appreciate Lou's insistence of the singing and dancing shit so y'all just decided to be ride or dies for life
much like cole, you get along so well with the rest of the ninja
idrk what to say here
nvm i do
You guys play video games with each other and you are infinitely salty at the fact that your younger brother is better than you at most video games
like wtf? isn't it supposed to be a god given right for all older siblings to be better at video games???? the FSM screwed you!!!
but you've never let him live down the one time he lost to you at super smash bros
you have refused to play with him since
Zane
See, idk if you'd be his ACTUAL sibling yk since he's a robot? maybe more like you were supposed to be a protege to dr. julien, but decided to just be a 4 lyfer with zane after his passing
you've helped zane understand human culture so much and he's real appreciative of your existence
the ninja absolutely fucking ADORE when you're around because what's better than one zane? TWO ZANES !!!
well, obviously you're your own person but! i could see zane adopting a lot of your mannerisms so you two end up being very similar
quality time is y'alls bread and butter
working around each other perfectly as y'all both cook in the kitchen
words never need to be shared between the two of you. just hanging around the other is enough yk? like y'all are bonding just by existing near each other and it is magical
Tumblr media
ANOTHER A/N; i tried my best to highlight reader being the older sibling but </3 idk if i did it that well. i saw "sibling fluff" and RAN!! im willing to do a pt 2 or like a one shot or anything with a prompt similar to this !! im the youngest sibling myself tho so idk if i can properly portray being an older sibling (only in a mean light. yk like greg heffley and rodrick. do NOT recommend having older siblings y'all /j)

PAY ATTENTION ● Older brother Suguru & Younger sibling!Reader
Tumblr media
what happens when suguru's cute younger sibling, who'd usually talk his ear off and cling to him, suddenly starts to... do their own thing?
Pairings: Platonic Suguru Geto x Younger sibling!Reader
As we know, Suguru is a rather mature teenager
He carries this air of elegance, always putting on a polite smile and spilling pleasantries past his lips like sweetened lies
But we also know that Suguru can be childish around the right people
So it's not a surprise to anyone close to him that when his younger sibling, you, stops following around like a lost puppy, Suguru immediately starts to sulk
You're only three years younger than Suguru, fourteen to his seventeen
You two always had a close relationship, closer than most siblings tend to have
Suguru loves spending time with you, to him, you're easily the funniest kid he knows
It's hard for him to ever calm down completely since he's constantly stressed with the sorcerer world
But every day when he goes home and you're in the living room or in your room, it's like he can finally breathe
Because before Satoru, you were Suguru's only friend
His little mini-me, partner in crime, best friend
You two clicked and moved like one, so in tune with each other he always marveled at how most siblings tend to hate each other
Of course, the two of you do fight sometimes
Over who gets to take a shower first, who ate the leftovers, who gets to watch what on TV
"Did you use my shampoo?"
"The one you keep hiding from me? Yeah."
"You little– That's expensive."
"That's why I used it, Suguru."
You two are siblings after all, what kind of siblings never fight?
But he never felt the kind of animosity and distrust so many brothers and sisters feel around each other, the kind that made them roll their eyes whenever they even got close to their siblings
To Suguru, you're his little sunshine, someone he'll protect until the day he keels over and dies
Not that he'll ever tell you that
(number one rule of siblingship: Never be too touchy-feely)
So imagine his surprise when the little punk who usually follows his every step, always under his elbow, asking him to hang out or help with homework, stays glued to the phone even when he sits in the same room
Like.... what?
You barely greet him, a half hearted "Hey, you're home." falling from your lips without even looking at him, and he's offended and hurt at the same time
You're fourteen, sure
He knows you'd start pulling away from him now that you have more than a couple of friends, more subjects to study, and... uh..
Puberty
But he thought it'd go away after a bit, that you'd go back to being his cute little sibling once you realized he is so much cooler than the kids your age
He'd walk past your open door multiple times a day after coming home, trying to see if you were going to invite him to hang out
He'd make tea with a mouthwatering fragrance, put on your favorite show, talk to your parents about going to a very trendy and fun place you'd surely want to go with
Damn, at some point he'd probably even talk to Satoru on the phone, loudly, because he knows you're curious about the pretty white haired teen who always teases you whenever he sees you around Suguru's home
But even then, nothing
Nothing at all
Suguru feels like he's watching the baby he helped learn how to walk turn into an adult and leave him behind
And as a big brother, he's upset, a little petty, and worst of all;
Sulky
Of course, Satoru and Shoko definitely notice, because although Suguru is quiet, he's not staying in a corner looking out of the window while listening to sad music and reminiscing quiet
And of course, they both make fun of him when he explains the situation
"And here I thought Gojo was the unreasonable one."
"Hahaha! I– I can't believe! You're sulking because the little brat isn't talking to you?!"
"Shut up, Satoru, and don't call my baby sibling a brat."
"Hah! You're such a loser, Suguru!"
Needless to say, when Suguru comes home and you're still glued to your phone in the living room, he's not in the greatest of moods
You barely look up when he drops his bag on the table
"Welcome back, Susu."
And because no one ever made a law saying Suguru can't act like Satoru sometimes, the teen flops on the couch and hugs a pillow, not answering you
That, you notice
Your brother always talks to you when he comes back home, even when he is all banged up from whatever they do at school
The sight that greets you is... something
Embarrassing, endearing, definitely pathetic for your big brother
Suguru is pouting, looking down at the pillow his strangling to his chest, his knees pulled up to make himself smaller
Not that it works, he's built like a bean pole
His shoulders brush yours, because even though he's mad, he still misses his cute– annoying little sibling
"Suguru?"
...
"Mr. Suguruuuu....?"
...
"Hey, what's wrong?"
He turns his face away, his hair slapping your face, and pushes more of his body against yours
"What the– Dude, you're squashing me! Suguru, what's wrong with you?!"
Suguru still says nothing, silently letting more and more of his weight to lower on top of you until you're smushed against the couch
Once you're a baby sibling pancake, Suguru finally opens his mouth
"So now you're paying attention to me, huh?"
... Huh?
"Huh?"
Suguru huffs, his hair all over your face, body much bigger and heavier than yours not allowing you to move an inch even though you struggle, and squeezes his pillow
"No, it's fine. Go ahead, ignore your big brother all you want. It's not like I helped mom and dad raise you."
"... Are you kiddi–"
"Yeah, keep your eyes glued to your phone, don't need to talk to me or don't hang out with me– actually, don't even look at me at all, since I'm sure you'd much rather look at your phone."
"You're being such a chil–"
"No, no, by all means! It's not like I miss you or anything."
You sighed with some effort, because Suguru is still on top of you and he's not a lightweight, and thump your head against the soft couch
Sure, you know you've been a little distant from your big brother
But, hey, you're fourteen now!
You have your friends and stuff you wanna do without your brother around
And, really, Suguru is a hypocrite
Ever since he started high school he wouldn't stop talking about the white haired cutie
Which you understood, if only visually because Satoru would often call you pint-sized Suguru
But he also spends time with other people!
"You do know I have other friends."
"So I don't matter to you anymore, is that it?"
"No, I'm just not gonna hang out with you all the time!"
"Well, you haven't been hanging out with me at all."
"Urgh!"
"Yeah, urgh."
God, you really wish more people knew about how pouty and clingy your big bro can get
Maybe they'd stop thinking he was this mature and chill guy
You groan against the couch and your brother presses his back down, pushing the air out of your lungs
"You're so annoying!"
"You used to say you wanted to be just like me when you grew up."
This guy...
You sigh, relaxing and surrendering
You're supposed to meet up your friends this weekend to watch a movie, but two of them can't make it so everyone gave up on it
Might as well use the opportunity
"Fine– I'm sorry, okay? Do– Do you wanna watch a movie this weekend? The one that just came out?"
Suguru stops for a second, letting some of his weight off of you and allowing you to breathe properly
He mutters the name of the movie and you confirm it
"Hmm..."
You can hear the smile on his face and you scoff, the exact same smile pulling at your lips too
"If you promise you'll pay more attention to your neglected older brother, then yeah."
Oh, you so want to take it back
But then again, now that he brought it up, you also miss him
If only a little
Like, a smidge
"Fine, I won't ignore you anymore. Happy?"
Suguru took a moment to answer before turning around to press a loud and gross older brother kiss on the back of your head
Now you have to take a shower
"Very happy."
He sounds smug and satisfied, finally a little more relaxed
He really did miss you so much
You're his baby, okay? Growing up too fast will only give him heartaches
And now Suguru can tell Satoru that you don't hate him
Everyone wins
...
"Hey, can you get off now?"
"Hmmm, no, I'm comfortable."
"Well, I'm not! Get off, Suguru!"
"Don't feel like it."
"Suguru!"

Hello! I love your work! I was wondering if you could possibly do an au for a girl being the human sister of the turtles, and since Splinter wants her to learn and be around her own kind a little more he has her go to high school, (against all four brothers wishes) so the go out to spy in her to make sure everything is alright and at the end of the day she meets a guy who ask her out and they all fume over it? It’s fine if you don’t want to! No pressure. ❤️
rottmnt x sister reader
“It’s time,” Splinter announced.
Everyone froze.
It had been a chill day in the lair. Everyone was hanging out in the living room. Splinter had been watching his commercials, Leo reading his comics, Raph watching football on his phone, so everyone was doing their own thing.
So it was very abrupt and frightening for Splinter to speak up and randomly say that.
“What?” Raph finally spoke up for all of you. Mikey slid into your side nervously. “What are ya talkin’ about, pops?”
“What we’ve been discussing for the past year.”
“You mean arguing about?” Donnie asked dryly.
“Tomato, tomato, Purple.” Splinter looked at you and you slid down against the couch nervously. “It’s time for you to go to High School.”
“No!” Leo wailed, throwing his arms around you. “I won’t let you take her!” He started to hiss at Splinter who looked at him with an unamused look.
“If she gets to go to school, then I should be able to, too!” Donnie complained, clearly more upset about a different aspect to this than what his brothers were upset about.
“You can’t!” Raph nervously waved his hands around. “Think of all the thugs in there! Is a public school? A private school? Where? What’s the crime rate in the area?! We won’t be there to protect her!”
“It’s safer to be in a school than a sewer,” Splinter rolled his eyes. “Think of all the diseases down here.”
“Hey! I keep it clean!” Donnie argued.
“No, you don’t. Your robots do.”
“Shut up, Leo—”
“Anyways. Your opinions don’t matter. Only mine does,” Splinter announced, ignoring how the shouting of his sons only grew louder at that. “In two weeks is the first day of school.”
You swallowed nervously.
Donnie had kept you up to what your age should know. Math, science, etc. So you would be fine with that. But you wouldn’t know anyone. Not a single person there, except for April. And everyone already knew everyone.
You were nervous. This made your brothers nervous.
For two weeks, the nervous energy built up.
When you went to school you were shaking.
You went through most of your classes barely speaking. You felt as if shadows were following you and you kept thinking people were whispering your name. But nobody knew it, so that was impossible, right?
Leaving your second to last class, in a isolated part of the school, you were quickly stopped by someone grabbing your arm.
“Hey…” You jumped and the ceiling creaked above you ominously. “Are you new?”
You turned to see a guy, maybe one from your class you just came from. You two were alone in the hall and you grew nervous.
“Uh, yeah!” Cute boy. Cute boy. Cute boy. You panicked. Oh god. “Uh. Yeah.” You were an idiot.
“Kinda rough how he’s already giving us a test, right? Did you study?”
“No,” you lied. Why did you lie?
“Me neither!” He laughed. What a win. “Wanna go study with me while eating some icecream?”
Your eyes widened. “Yes—”
Raph’s claws punctured the ceiling tile. What had been barely holding his weight snapped, sending all four turtles crashing through the ceiling, crushing the guy underneath the rubble.
You stared at your brothers and they stared back.
“Oh my god,” Mikey breathed out. “We killed him.”
“No, we didn’t. We likely concussed him and knocked him out.” Donnie rolled his eyes. “He deserves it anyways.”
“How about instead of chatting and standing there, get off of him!” you screamed at them. They scrambled off of him and Raph picked the poor guy up. He limply flopped like a wet noodle. “Guys?!”
“I’ll leave him outside there nurse’s office…” Leo reluctantly sighed, opening a portal. Raph carelessly threw the boys through the portal.
“Raph?!”
“What?” he asked innocently.
“Get out of my school!”
They ‘left’ and continued to watch you from the ceiling.
At least no school day could be worse than this one. It could only be uphill from there.

Nagi x Itoshi!Reader drabble
you have been dating Nagi for awhile now, but your brothers only seem to notice when you wear Nagi's Manshine jersey
You first saw Nagi at the U-20 game, and you couldn't help how your eyes were glued to him practically the whole game. Although you were trying to pay attention to your brothers, it didn't seem to work as they would naturally drift back to him. Then by some miracle when you were going to go find Rin after the game, you happened to bump into the tall, white-haired player. From there sparks flew. (He happened to be wearing a shirt of an anime you recognized- the conversation came naturally). You ended up completely forgetting about Rin (yes how awful of you), and ended up somehow getting Nagi's number.
From there the relationship took off, you officially started dating after the players got a break from the Blue Lock Neo Egoist League. You were pretty smitten for Nagi, and it didn't take long for the relationship to get more serious. Fast forward a few more months, and the two of you have been dating for six months now. This brings to your current predicament of Sae and Rin standing in front of you glaring daggers into your soul. It's not like you tried to hide your relationship with Nagi. In fact it would've been very easy to notice if they weren't always so caught up in their petty rivalry. You had worn Nagi's clothing around the house, you'd been on face time with him in the living room, you had talked about Nagi to your mother at dinner right next to them, you had said the phase 'my boyfriend' multiple times, and so really it wasn't your fault they never realized.
"Why are you wearing a Manshine city jersey?" Sae questioned you first he gave you an accusing look, what was he accusing you of you weren't even sure.
"Because it's Nagi's jersey." You answered as if it was obvious, because it should've been.
"Why are you wearing Nagi's Jersey?" Rin was the next to question, because what did you want with the jersey of that tall lukewarm loser.
"Because he's my boyfriend. You guys should know this." The room was filled with silence, until Rin spoke up again.
"When did you even start dating that lukewarm no body?"
"Six months ago. What is wrong-"
"You've been dating someone for six months, and didn't tell us?" Sae immediately cut you off
"No, I did tell you, multiple times in fact. You two have both been too busy in a petty feud to notice."
You got up, and walked away shaking your head as both your brothers protested your words. What was it Nagi always said, 'tis such a pain.

ROTTMNT x Sister! Reader
Reader getting her first period.
Rise! Raph, Leo, Mikey, Donnie, April x Fem! Sister
PURELY PLATONIC AND FAMILIAL. Fem! Reader, fluff, mentions of blood (obvi), turtles being stupid 🤞, April being the best ever as usual 🤞
Tumblr media
“Where’s the pain killers, Raph?” You dragged your feet into the living, cradling your aching lower stomach.
“Y/N, you’re awake! Woah-“ Leo said from behind you, “is that blood?”
“Blood?” You and Raph said in unison. You turned to face Leo and looked down at yourself to see what he was talking about.
“You are bleeding!” Raph exclaimed, pointing towards the bottom part of your pajama shorts, “what happened?!”
“I- I don’t know!” You looked confused, looking back and forth between Leo and Raph.
“What’s all the commotion?” Mikey walked in from the kitchen, wearing an apron. Immediately he noticed the blood and rushed over to you, looking all over your body. “Oh mi gosh! Donnie! Donnie!”
“Y/N, what happened?” Raph asked again, a concerned look in his eyes.
“I don’t know! I just don’t know…Oh my god, my stomach hurts…” You groaned at the piercing pain in your abdomen. Leo was typing intently on his phone, looking up your symptoms on Web MD.
“What is it?” Donnie walked in, pushing his goggles up.
“She’s bleeding ooouuuuttt!!!” Mikey sobbed, pulling you into a bone-crushing hug.
“No, I’m not!” You turned to Donnie for reassurance, “Am I?”
“Guys, cut it out!” Leo shouted, panic evident in his tone.
“You’re scaring her!” Raph added.
Donnie’s eyes widened as realization hit him. Of course he knew what menstruation was. Just not, uh, how it works exactly. For obvious reasons, he never really needed to look into it.
Leo and Raph don’t know shit. Mikey…well, he knows what it is. He’s just too panicked to even consider what’s really happening to you.
——————————————————-————————
“Heeeyyyy!” April walked into the lair, and immediately stopped dead in her tracks at the scene before her.
You were looking at her like you’d just seen a ghost, tears in your eyes. Mikey, Raph, and Leo were clinging onto you. Donnie was scrolling through articles on his phone and seemed evidently uncomfortable.
“What did I just walk into?” April lifted her eyebrows in confusion and a little concerned.
“April! Y/N is dying!” Mikey cried into your shoulder.
“I never told you this, but I was the one who broke your Jupiter Jim figure and blamed it on Donnie. I am so sorry!” Leo confessed with a sigh of relief having gotten that off his chest.
Donnie looked up from his phone and shot his twin a glare, “What?!”
April blinked a few times, she stepped towards you taking in the situation. She noticed the way you were gripping the area of uterus and the blood on your shorts that was now leaking onto the front.
April shook her head, laughing, “Guys, relax! She’s not dying.”
“She’s..she’s not?” Raph looked up at her, sniffling.
“Of course not! She’s just shedding the lining of her intestines!”
“WHAT?”
“Oh my god, I’m gonna be sick…” Leo put one hand over his mouth, the other gripping his stomach.
Your jaw and your stomach dropped, obviously having no idea what she meant by that.
“YYYY/NNNNN!!” Mikey and Leo sobbed, hugging you tighter if that was even possible. Donnie and Raph looked mortified.
“Stop smothering her!” April pried the turtles off of you, gently taking your hand.
“You’re fine, Y/N. Don’t listen to them.” She narrowed her eyes at your brothers before turning back to you with a warm smile, “Let’s get you cleaned up, ok? I’ll explain everything, girl to girl.” She winked at you.
You simply nodded, squeezing her hand back.

My Dearest Defiance
Tumblr media
Summary:  Equal as an Endless, more than a human, yet less than a god. Where did you even belong? The question has haunted you since you first saw humanity rise into power. Now your brother has been kidnapped and you can't do anything to help him.
Notes: ~7.5k words, This fic is a follow-up to this post sent in by the lovely @kpopgirlbtssvt, thank you so much for the idea! I took a few liberties with the plot and I hope that's okay with you!
Warnings: Platonic! Big Brother x little sister! Reader, *side eyes* a lot of angst, violence, physical abuse, heavy mentions of cancer, implied alcohol consumption, minor Dreaming mind-fuckery, death of Reader (you come back...ish), death of characters, comfort in the end :)
Masterlist
Mother Night and Father Time, the first lovers, the everlasting lovers. And it was through their love that the Endless were born. Your eldest brother Destiny came first, birthed in dark cloaks and the book that was named after him. He is in charge of the fate of every being to live.
Every being who has lived must follow the path of this fate and fate always ends in Death, your eldest sister. When Mother and Father realized that the humans must do something while waiting for Death, they birthed your favorite brother, Dream. He is hope, the one who gives the humans courage to stand up for themselves and make do with their lives. Soon, humans wanted more and in succession, the rest of your siblings were born: Destruction, Desire, Despair, and sweet Delight soon to be Delierum.
While every Endless was busy tending to their own realms and their own duties, you were born. Endless in name but not in power. You were the runt of the family, with no realm to call your own, and no responsibilities of your own. Yet here you stood amongst the humans that soon called you Defiance, the human spirit, the resilience to continue despite all odds.
You’re sure your siblings knew of you, certainly enough to be invited to family dinner once every 100 years. Yet you could never shake the feeling of inadequacy when you were sat at the far end, only to be over-talked by everyone. They were discussing important matters, after all, nothing that you had to concern yourself with.
You only find solace in Dream, where no matter how difficult the days get, you may always find a home in his realm. While he is adamant about letting you stay in the castle, you find it more comfortable to live in a cottage at the edge of the realm where the forest meets with the vast unknown and you grow vegetables from the soil you tow. It also allows you to escape to the waking world without Dream knowing.
You love humans, their lives fascinate you to no end. They know of you, just as they know of all of your Endless siblings, but sometimes it just takes a little more for them to realize. You would never push them to admit to your existence and somewhere along the millions of years of existence, you have given up trying to be the center of attention.
To understand humans is to live like them, talk like them, and love like them. Unfortunately, humans are more than that and often succumb to feelings of anger, depression, righteousness, and violence. You try not to associate yourself with those emotions, but it’s innate.
It’s been a few weeks since you stepped foot in Dream’s castle, and who could blame you? The village in which you reside is much more fun than the dreary castle your brother tends to enjoy more. The thick castle wall blocks out the sunlight, it’s filled with dust and smells of wet stones and old books. Not to mention, when Dream was busy, there was no one to talk to. Lucienne was always busy, picking up after her King, and you don’t even want to get started on Mervin.
He’s only nice to you cause you gave him his pumpkin head when his original turnip head started going out of style. Otherwise, it’s cigar smoke being blown into your face and sassy remarks.
You’re out in the market square when you feel the presence of your Endless Sibling. You turn from the flower vendor with a big smile and wave at Dream as he makes his way towards you. The dreams that he created step to the side in the presence of their sovereign.
“Brother!” You exclaim when he gets close enough for you, wrapping one of your arms around his while the woven basket hangs in the other.
The basket was filled with a few apples and a fresh loaf of bread. You were just about to buy a few glass snowdrop flowers before you were pleasantly surprised by Dream.
“How do you do this afternoon, dear sister?” He speaks, leaning into your face to tease you.
You giggle at him as the two of you walk the main road, passing dreams and nightmares alike, a few waving at you in greeting that you return.
“I’m doing great. I was thinking of going to the waking world later today and spending some time with Death, actually.” You respond, your arm leaves Dream’s as a different vendor catches your eyes. They were selling acrylic paints in colors that you haven’t seen since half a century ago.
“Here, hold this,” You say as you hand off your basket to Dream. He does as he’s told and holds the basket, the white paint offputting to his otherwise completely black outfit.
You grab a few jars of paint and can already think of the wonderful things to draw when you get back into your cottage. There was a specific lake nearby that you haven’t been able to do justice to, but you think you finally can with the new color.
A brief conversation of exchange happens between you and the vendor before you turn around. You burst out laughing at the sight before you. Dream stood in the middle of the road where you had first told him to hold your basket and hadn’t moved an inch. His shoulders were stiff and taught as he held your basket as far away from his body as possible.
“It’s not going to bite you, you know!” You practically cackle at him. Your giggles follow you as you carefully place the jars of paint into your basket. You think that you will paint some flowers and ivy onto your basket later tonight.
You go to take the basket back from him but he’s quick to move it away from your grabby hands.
“You specified that I should hold it, so hold it I shall,” He says and holds the basket higher, just out of your reach, when you go to grab at it again.
You huff at his rather stubborn behavior, but he’s been like this since the beginning. He always looks after you and takes care of you. You’re always grateful for it, but you can carry your own basket. You resolve the conversation with a roll of your eyes but the smile on your face stays in place when you turn your back to him.
Dream walks you home, basket now significantly heavier and full of things you didn’t really need. Well, except maybe the paint, it’s good to splurge every once in a while. Your cottage is basked in a warm light as the Dreaming’s sun slowly disappears beyond the horizon to rise in another universe. The pie you had baked this morning had long since cooled and you brought it inside with a hum, your brother still following you.
He set the basket on the simple kitchen table before taking a seat and watching you slice up the pie with a smile. You set the pastry down in front of him and another plate for yourself. The savory apple flavoring takes over the senses when you take the first delicious bite.
“I would like you to come back to the castle soon,” Your brother says as you take another bite.
“Whatever for?” You question, a little bit of apple filling falling out of your mouth. “The cottage is my home.”
Dream sighs but answers anyway. “I will be gone for a moment, I need to take care of a rouge nightmare,  and would like you to be cared for while I am away from the Dreaming.”
“How long will you be gone for you to want me to live in that dreadful place?” You make a face as you think about the boring days ahead of you. Well, maybe you can escape to the castle garden if Mervin isn’t paying attention.
“I cannot tell you for I do not know.”
You purse your lips as you think about his request. “Fine,” You groan.
“Best not see Sister Death today.” When you don’t bother with a response he speaks against “Farwell, sister. I will be back soon,” He promises you before standing. You didn’t get the chance to follow him to the door before he leaves, his apple pie still untouched.
“Ugh, how wasteful.” You joke to yourself.
You spend the rest of your evening painting your basket as you had wanted before packing up a few items for the castle. Your basket was a gift from your brother and had an infinite amount of storage. So you managed to shove an extensive amount of your wardrobe, the paints, and some of the freshly baked pastries into the small wooden thing. You set off when the moon was high in the sky and the stars came down from their afternoon nap and danced in the village square.
Their stardust shoes clink like pure jade against the cobblestone road, illuminating the otherwise quiet and sleeping town. A few wave  at you, shimmering particles following their movements before they return to their waltz. You wave back to them before continuing on your journey, mindful of where you stepped.
When stars come down to the Dreaming they become transparent and more gaseous than solid but that doesn’t stop them from burning hot. And unless you wanted to recounter that one time you stepped through one and started sneezing and coughing stardust for the next 10 years, you’ll keep your distance - only allowing for their natural light to guide your way out of the village and towards the castle.
By the time you reach the castle, Dream is nowhere to be found and you assume he went out to do what he mentioned earlier that day. Your room was set up for you,  Dream obviously had some palace staff tidy up the room as you took a look around the clean environment. Otherwise, everything was in the same place you had left it since the last time you were at the castle. You yawn as you set your basket down by the door. First a good night’s rest, then you can go to the waking world to do your own things.
Tumblr media
You sneak out of the castle a few minutes before dawn, the soft bed and good night’s rest giving you the energy you need to do so. You grimace when the door creaks loudly as you slowly open it, smelling the early morning dew on the grass and the warming dawn wind.
“Where are you headed, my dear?” A voice stops you in your tracks. You suck your lips into your mouth as you soon recognize the voice.
“Good morning, Lucienne,” You greet curtly, holding, or rather, hiding, your basket behind your black skirt.
Lucienne gives you a pointed look. “Yes, good morning.”
You give her a smile before stepping back out the door, only to be stopped when she purposefully clears her throat.
“The question?” She presses.
You feign innocence and bat your eyelashes, not that it would work. “What question?”
“Lady Defiance, my Lord specifically states that I keep my eyes on you.” Lucienne holds her hands behind her back as she takes her stance.
“By all means, keep your eyes - hey what’s that?!” You gawk as you point behind Lucienne.
Lucienne snaps her head around to look at what you were so surprised by. She doesn’t see or sense anything when she does. It’s about two seconds of her searching before she realizes that she has been duped. When she turns around the door is swinging shut and you are nowhere to be seen. She slams the door open and only sees the last of your figure disappearing on the horizon.
You’re still giggling to yourself about pulling off that little trick when you reach the ocean of the Dreaming. The little wooden dock creaks under your weight as you skip across it. Having done this traveling before, you jump right in with a squeal, holding your nose close so you don’t get any water in.
The water pushes and pulls but you don’t fight the current knowing that it will take you where you wanted to go. When you emerge, you cough once and the water falls off your body, leaving you dry in cloudy 1916 England. You wrap your blazer closer to your body as the wind picks up and leave the alleyway. The familiar smell of roasted peanuts from street vendors and car fumes tickles your nose when you turn the corner to walk into the hospital.
“Hi, I’m here to visit Genny, uh, Geniveve, Geniveve Colemen,” You correct yourself to the receptionist. The woman nods and looks down at her computer.
“She’s in the same room, 443. Here’s your visitor’s pass.” She hands you a laminated badge on a lanyard.
You thank her before wearing the lanyard and going towards the nearest elevator. The elevator smelled of shoe polish and disinfectant spray and it made your nose crinkle. You just hope the smell doesn’t transfer onto your clothes.
When you reach your destination, you knock on Genny’s door before entering. She wears her hospital gown and was reading a book when she looks up. A smile pasters onto her face when she sees you.
“Y/N!” She drops her book and sits up straighter.
“Genny!” You exclaim back with the same amount of excitement. You place your basket by her bed before pulling out a fresh vase of flowers and setting it by her bedside table.
“I feel like I haven’t seen you in forever, what have you been up to?” She asks.
“Yeah, my mother took me to some private tutor to help me study for my tests,” You lie through your teeth as you fluff the flowers to make them look more appealing.
You tuck your school skirt underneath you when you sit down next to Genny and reach for your basket again. “I brought you some homebaked goods. I know this hospital’s food has got to be horrendous.”
You bring out the baked loaf of bread you bought the day before and rip off a slice for her. She takes the loaf and inhales the scent.
“Gosh, Y/N, I don’t know how you make such good baked goods. Your husband will be a lucky one if you stop trying to chase them off.” She giggles and muffles through her full mouth.
You laugh with her, sparing her the details of your actual life. You bring forth the lie you had carefully planted yourself as instead. A straight-A student that goes to the same school as Genny before she was diagnosed with cancer, how you were her best friend that visited her when you got the chance, how you had gotten onto the school council and despite all of her poking and prodding, she would not get to know what the school formal’s dance theme is going to be unless she went with you tomorrow to the dance. You try not to think about how frail she has gotten since the first time you’ve met her. Her collarbones were poking out and you can see how hard it was for her to take even breaths.
When she asks you again later in the visit about the school dance you rebuttal quickly.
“Are you going to come to the dance with me?” You laugh. “Speaking of which, I got you a dress, too!” You go back to your basket, pulling out a formal dress, and setting it in front of Genny.
“Wow! Look at the bead stitching,” She says, running a delicate finger over the beading and gems then over the lacing.
“I’ve got a good eye, don’t I?” You sit back down with a smile and a tilt of the head. “It matches my dress, too.”
“What about your own date?”
“Oh, please, I don’t have time for boys!” You giggle again, hiding behind the lie that you don’t actually go to her school.
“Oh alright, I suppose I must go to the dance with you so you won’t be lonely.” Genny surrenders.
You smile at her, happy she finally agreed. “You’re a great friend.”
Genny coughs after your compliment and you’re quick to reach for the water and hand it over to her. When she sits up to drink you go to fluff her pillow. Genny lays back down with a sigh and all of the warmth that was in the room leaves through the window. She looks like she’s aged when she looks at you again, another cough crawling its way past her throat.
“I’ll leave you to rest,” You say, turning around to grab your things.
“No,” Genny refuses. “Can you stay for a little bit longer?” She coughs again and holds your hand weakly. “I want to feel like a normal girl for a little while longer.”
“Okay,” You whisper and sit back down, feeling the chill of the hospital around your ankles.
You watch over her as she falls asleep, the conversation taking the last of her energy. You begin to stare off into space, thinking about your life. You did your best with the gift of immortality, but as you stare at Genny’s tense face, you wish you could do more. Equal as an Endless, more than a human, yet less than a god. Where did you even belong? The question has haunted you since you first saw humanity rise into power.
Your thoughts leave you when you feel the beating of wings and a flush of wind from the door. Your head snaps and you see your sister standing there in her black tank top and the same combats boots you wore.
“Sister Death,” You greet with a small smile, previous thoughts disappearing. “What brings you here today?”
Your sister only smiles at you. Your excitement of seeing your sister again is soon taken over by dread. You look between your sister and your friend and the dots connect.
“Oh... what? No!” You stand abruptly between your sister and Genny. “No! She still has so much to do in life!” You try to reason with her.
“You cannot bargain with me, Defiance. You know that,” She says in her soft voice.
“I don’t care,” Your lips form into a line. “At least let her go to the dance with me?” You try one more time.
Death sighs with exaggeration. “Fine, but not an hour more.”
“Thanks…” You’re not entirely sure how you managed to pull that off, unbeknownst to you that your sister has a soft spot for you much like Dream.
Your sister looks you up and down before she leans on the door. “So how are you doing, then?”
You look off to the side when you answer. “Fine,” You grumble out.
She lets out a huff, or perhaps a laugh, you can’t really tell. “Would you like to go on a walk with me?”
It was a tempting offer, after all, you haven’t spent time with your sister in a while. You thought about it for a little while longer. “No,” You end up refusing.
“Genny asked me to stay a little while longer, so I shall.” You turn away from your sister and sit back down in the uncomfortable hospital chair. You keep your head straight, looking after Genny, and don’t take your eyes off her even when you hear your sister departing.
When she does, a tremble runs over your body. You feel tears prick at your lashline as you come to terms with the fact that your friend will be dying soon. You did your best to prevent the inevitable, but with no powers of your own, it’s only a waiting game now.
You leave when visiting hours are over, Genny has yet to wake up from her nap. You leave the rest of the loaf on her bedside table, and a slice of your apple pie. You decide to tidy up the room as quietly as you can and hang her dress on the hook that was nailed to the wall. With one final look at her, you leave, only hoping that your sister doesn’t go back on her word and take her before her allotted time.
You spend the rest of the evening in the waking world, catching up on new things the humans have done with their time. You end your day on a park bench, illuminated only by a single street lamp. The park was quiet, you’re only accompanied by the sound of crickets and the wind along the trees. You take in a deep breath of fresh air. Oh, how you have missed this. If only it was closer to summer vacation, you would’ve taken Genny to the beach and had some sun time with her.
When you are done relaxing you go to the pond at the center of the park, the fountain in the middle still squirting out water and creating magnificent shapes and splashes along the surface. You could see the stars' reflection rippling as you peer at the lake over a bridge. The wind blows and you close your eyes to savor the moment.
“I wouldn’t jump if that’s what you’re thinking,” Someone says next to you.
You open your eyes and turn to see a man standing next to you, no older than 20. He takes off his hat when you speak.
“I wasn’t, but thank you,” You reply simply and go back to looking out towards the expanding city. He doesn’t leave your side despite your answer and it gets a bit awkward.
“Are you thinking of jumping? Because I would also not recommend that, sir,” You turn to him again and see him laughing.
“No,” He says. “I am just here to think.”
“Just like me then. What bothers your mortal mind?” You ask.
“Many things… I’m afraid I have let my family down.”
“How so?”
“We came here on a boat from the motherland, nothing to our name but a few pennies. I was supposed to go to college and finally put our family on the map. But I failed and now here I am, talking to a stranger on a bridge in the middle of the night.”
You laugh along with him. You knew of him and saw his dreams a few times when you went out exploring in the Dreaming. He wanted to be a doctor, specifically an athletic injuries doctor but failed out of medical school before he even got the chance. You rack your brain to think of his name, and when it comes to you, you speak.
“Do not worry, Albert Brocken, I’m sure there are many opportunities that will come alight in the near horizon. Perhaps you should take the entrance exam again, and see where it takes you.” You yawn and you realize that you should probably start heading home.
“Yeah… maybe I should,” He concludes with a sigh. “I think I might go into somnology,” He says more to himself than you.
“Somnology sounds fascinating,” You agree. “I must go home now, but best of luck to you!” You walk away, your shoes barely audible on the stone bridge over the gushing fountain. Albert doesn’t look your way when you depart, too focused on his new goal in life.
You find yourself standing before an old winding cottonwood tree in the same park. It’s been here for years, growing into the magnificent tree it is today. It’s passed by thousands of England residents almost every day, yet none of them are willing to stare at it hard enough to realize that the bark of the tree isn’t real.
You take one last look around the park to make sure no one else sees you before walking straight into the tree, the danging leaves caressing you like a gentle mother’s touch. The trunk of the tree turns into a curtain of falling sand and you pass through with no problems. When you emerge on the other side, the bright moon of the Dreaming greets you, illuminating and basking you in a soft welcome. When you come back into the castle, Lucienne is on top of you like a hot iron.
“Thank the Gods you are well,” She panics as she holds your arms. After taking a good overall look at you, she wraps her arms around your body and brings you into a hug.
“Lucienne?” Your question muffled against her crisp uniform. “What’s going on?”
“Oh, my dear, you hadn’t come back all day. I thought perhaps…” She trails off before she takes a breath. “Lord Morpheus hasn’t returned, and neither had you, so I presumed the worst.”
“Morpheus hasn’t returned?”
“No, but you are here. Tell me, did you see him while you were in the waking world today?” Lucienne holds hope in her eyes and you resent the next word you say.
“No,” Your thoughts trailed off. “Morpheus hasn’t returned?” You ask again.
“I am sure there is nothing to worry about. I may just be overthinking is all.” Lucienne reassures you.
“Okay…” You don’t completely believe her, somewhere deep inside you you can feel that Morpheus is in danger. As the King of Dreams and Nightmares, a rouge nightmare shouldn’t be anything to be worried about. He should be home by now.
Your eyes close as soon as your head hits the pillow, but thoughts consume you. After the dance tomorrow night with Genny, you will go searching for your brother. The following day came quickly and you paced back and forth in the castle hall, the formal dress you had on jingling with your movements. Your thoughts were in overdrive, there was Morpheus of course, but you also knew that tonight was going to be Genny’s last day. And knowing that puts a weight on your shoulders. You have to make sure that tonight is going to be the best night of her life.
When the time came, you went to the waking world feeling dolled up and in an antique car with the roof down. Your hair had enough hairspray to survive a storm from Zeus himself. You pull up to the hospital in a screech, Genny already waiting for you in the lobby. You check your lipstick in the mirror one last time before Genny reaches your car.
“You know how to drive?!” Genny says with a smile and excitement that you found contagious.
You resecure the silk scarf that protected your hair from the wind and open a pair of sunglasses to put over your eyes. You look at her over the bridge of your nose, your eyes shining past the sunglasses before stepping on the gas pedal.
“I know how to do many things, sweet Genny!” You shout over the wind, pushing the glasses back to their original position.
Each time you looked over at Genny, her smile still hadn’t faltered and the last bits of the sun’s rays caught on the embroidery of her dress. Her softness brings a smile to your face and for a moment you forget about your brother.
You pull into the gravel driveway of the school formal’s destination. You had managed to weasel your way into the school council and they were able to get help from the local people. The theme for this year's dance was “A Magical Night” and a local citizen opened his manor to the students for the night. He called himself a mage, something that you rolled your eyes at as magic has been rare in this world since the faeries left it half a century ago. But you kept that to yourself, if he wanted to play make-believe, then so let him.
Students were already lining up outside the decorated manor when the two of you arrived. You hand your keys off to a valet and walk towards the door, hand in hand with Genny. Her excitement buzzed through her like a shot of tequila.
When you cross over the threshold of the manor you are genuinely surprised at the decorations of the place. The ballroom had been cleared out and a live band was playing music for students to dance to. There was a bar on the far end of the ballroom serving drinks and small snacks. A doorman takes your jacket away from you before you grab Genny’s hand and head to the dance floor.
Many of Genny’s old friends soon recognize her and start to surround you two, the night is still young and the sound of laughter soon fills the air. You and Genny danced the night away until you both were sweaty and out of breath. Your make-up had gone a bit smudged but you didn’t mind. It was nearing midnight when most of the students started to leave and you pulled Genny away for one last surprise.
Genny started to slow down a bit, the exercise of the dance sapping away her energy. She pulls through though and follows you to a winding staircase that leads to one of the roofs of the manor. The spring air chills you to your bone, but it is well received after the sweat you have built up. You help Genny sit down before you sit down next to her, the shingles of the roof poking through your dress in an uncomfortable way.
A satisfied sigh leaves your lips when you look out to the vast countryside behind the manor. The stars twinkle as far as the eyes can see and from your advantage point, no trees are blocking the view either. Genny pants beside you as she calms herself down from the climb and leans her head against your shoulder.
“I am so glad you made me come to this dance,” She whispers as she looks out to the stars.
“Me too,” You agree, you begin the absentmindedly swing your legs back and forth. Your heels come loose and slip from your feet and both you and Genny laugh at it.
“Gosh, I hope that didn’t hit anyone,” She continues to laugh as she cautiously peers over the side.
“Or else they’d have to smell my stinky feet, ewww!” You continue her joke.
Her laugh turns into a cough and your mood shifts to melancholy.
A shift in the winds tells you that her time will soon be up. “Genny,” You start. “My sister is going to be here soon.”
“Oh, really? I didn’t know you had a sister.”
“Yes, I have a huge family actually.”
“Well, tell me about your sister,” She smiles, head feeling heavier as she puts her full weight on your shoulder.
“She is really sweet, and a soft, kind-hearted soul. Just like you, I suppose.” You say.
Genny doesn’t reply and tears prick your eyes. When you turn your head you see Genny standing up with a smile, yet her body still remains on your shoulder. Behind her stands your sister, a reassuring smile and a gentle hand rest around Genny in a side hug.
“Your sister says that she’ll take great care of me,” She starts and looks at Death with a solemn smile. “Will she?”
“Yeah, she’s one of the best…” Your voice dips into a murmur as you feel your lips tremble.
Your answer is enough for her and she turns to leave. She seems to have remembered something as she turns back around and wraps her hands around your shoulders, her ghostly figure slightly falling through your physical form.
“I’ll see you again, right?” Genny asks, hope lines her figure and you can’t bear to see it fade.
“Yes,” You lie through your teeth. “Good-bye.”
She turns to leave with your sister, blissfully unaware of your last farewell. The sound of Death’s beating wings was the last thing you heard before it was just the barren countryside again. Genny’s body grows cold by your side as you pet her hair for the last time.
The manor staff came soon when you faked a scream and soon ambulances came and went with her body. You’re left in the aftermath of a romantic dream of confection and ribbons alone in the middle of the dance floor feeling numb.
“Hey, lady, if you’re going to stand here moping you can at least help out,” A staff member calls out and you snap out of your thoughts.
He hands you a few foldable chairs and tells you to put them up. You nodded along, not really having much else to do. You meander through the halls when you realize that he didn’t tell you where to put the chairs. It’s when you find yourself at a set of stairs that lead down towards the basement. And to you, it made all logical sense for humans to store their things in the basement.
You open the heavy double doors and descend further into the musky basement. Candles were lit on the stairs and its melted wax coats the edges as it lightens the path. When you get to the bottom, you’re greeted by the host of the party that you met earlier in the night.
“What are you doing here, girl!” He scolds.
You hold up the chairs, unaware of his tone. “Hi, Mr. Burgess. I’m helping with clearing up after the dan…” Your final word trails off as your eyes wander past his figure.
Behind him sits your brother and your jaw drops. Mr. Burgess tries to stand between you and him when he notices that your attention is no longer on him. Dream stands fully in his glass prison and you would have made fun of the fact that he was fully rocking out in his birthday suit if not for the situation at hand.
“Oh, what the fuck,” You whisper, dropping the chairs.
You breeze past Mr. Burgess and stand before Morpheus. Golden runes that surround his prison stop you short as if there was some sort of invisible force field. Your head whips around and faces your host again. He stands tall as he stares back.
“Why do you have my brother in a-a… fucking FISH BOWL!” Your words stumble out at the utter audacity of the situation, your hands moving around expressively.
Realization dawns on him and you realize that you made a mistake. “So, you are one of his family. That man warned me about your kind. Which one are you.” He seethes as he walks towards you.
“You face Defiance of the Endless,” You spit back at him.
You were in no mood to play, first, your friend dies in your arms and then you learn that Lucienne’s suspicions were right and that something did happen to your brother. This whole time he had been here under your feet while you were having fun. His clothes, tools, and dignity stripped from him as you drank enough sparkling cocktails to make Dionysus jealous.
The man scoffs at you and spits at your feet. “Oh please, and I thought that it was going to be hard. I’ve heard of you, little girl. They told me that you are nothing, a nobody. You have no realm, no powers, you are barely a god.”
You stay silent as he speaks, rage flushes through your body and your muscles tremble. His words rang true, but here you shall stand for your brother. He advances on you and you find that you have nowhere to go. A sharp pain burns across your cheek as his pierced cane comes into contact with your skin.
Your body follows the force as it throws you off balance. Your head cracks against the stone floor of the basement and a gasp leaves you. Your vision blurs from the hit and you feel warm blood sliding down your cheek like an unshed tear. In the distance of your mind, you hear Dream slamming his fist against his glass prison. You stand again, determined to not be bested by a mere mortal.
His cane comes down again like a whip, hitting your shins and then once again on the back of your knees. The blow forces you to kneel before him, and your cries of pain echo in your head. The coarse floor scratches at your palm but you keep your breath as even as you can.
“Is that all you got?” You sneer as you look up at him through your eyelashes.
His foot comes towards your face and you squeeze your eyes shut right before the impact follows. Your body tumbles further away from Dream, but his slamming continues. You feel the wall behind you, its surface cooling down your heating body.
“Stop, I command you to stop!” Morpheus shouts, command muffled.
“Dream of the Endless commands you to stop,” You repeat your brother's words. You use the wall to brace yourself to stand on wobbling legs.
Iron fills your mouth and you spit it out back at Burgess’ feet, much like he did to you before. You grin when you see him grimace at the act. You wipe your mouth clean with the back of your hand, very unladylike, but between the three of you, who is going to judge?
A backhanded slap snaps your head to the side and another painful scream follows.
“Stop! Cease yourself or face my wrath!” Dream continues to scream as your vision blurs again.
“No, I can take it,” Your voice is coarse but the message is heard loud and clear.
“Oh, you can take it, hmm?” Burgess taunts and his cane jabs into your abdomen.
You feel like you couldn’t breathe, that no matter how much your mouth gaped open, oxygen didn’t fill in your lungs as you needed it to.
“I can take it,” You wheeze out again, another hit forces you back down and this time you don’t have the strength to get up again.
“I suppose one step higher than capturing an Endless is to kill one,” Burgess laughs on top of you. His heavy body straddles you and you feel his hands wrap around your neck.
Black dots swarm your vision like the expanding universe. Your nails claw at his hands, drawing blood, as your body tries its best to fight back. Burgess picks you up by the neck and slams your back down, stars waltz behind your eyelids and a brief vision of home comforts you. A ragged breath crawls through your throat before another slam into the ground silences you. Despite your efforts, your hands grow limp and you feel your body start to break down. It flakes away like spring cherry blossom petals as you take your last breath.
“No!” Dream’s scream is the last thing you hear.
Your consciousness fades to black and it is quiet for once. It’s odd to think that an immortal being can die, but it’s true. The only thing that differentiates it is that you could be reborn. Immortality is a fickle thing.
When you come back into consciousness, you can feel the Dreaming heal your soul. It wraps its warmth around you like a soft blanket and you finally feel safe enough to stop everything that ran through your mind. When you stretch out your limbs you realize that you weren’t in your human form anymore.
Your perception spans further and you can see new angles you haven’t seen before through your eyes. You wiggle your toes, or what you thought were your toes and feel soft and fertilizing soil below you. When you look down you notice that your legs have turned into the soft bark of a willow tree. Your arms shake and the reaching leaves of the tree shake from the action. You sigh and your bark groans and creeks under your deflation.
You soon become a welcomed resident in Fiddler’s Green, providing shade for the decreasing amount of dreamers that come to visit you. As the years pass, the Dreaming starts to die around you as Morpheus stays entrapped under the Burgess Manor. You stay as a tree, unable to move and help. Guilt eats you alive, leaving your core to rot from the inside out.
Lucienne comes to visit now and then, but as the castle starts to fall apart, she can’t find the time to come by anymore. Your days grow lonelier as Fiddler’s Green decides to leave the Dreaming as well. You stand on dry soil in a barren wasteland. Your inaction keeping you hostage like a ladybug in a spiderweb. The more you struggled, the harder you found it to keep your human consciousness.
So, you did the most human you could think of: you cried. Fitting, you thought to yourself, a weeping willow, well, weeping. Your tears came to fruition in the form of vibrant yellow blossoming flowers against the beige and cracking surroundings.
Tumblr media
You stayed like that for the next 106 years. Your roots had grown so long that you could feel each corner of the dreaming, searching high and low for water to drink from. Soon, even that would run out. Another tear runs down your bark, your trunk growing deep grooves where the previous century of tears had carved. Despite all odds, your leaves were still vibrant and your flowers would change colors based on your mood. A trick that took you a few decades to learn.
The moon rises higher and higher over the horizon. You follow its path, counting the fragments to keep your mind from boredom. It split in half 15 years after Dream’s capture and every five years or so, another fragment separates from the moon. You counted 18 fragments this time around, the same as the day before, and the week before that. You yawn, the bark shaking as you do so and close your eyes to rest.
You wake to a soft hand on your bark just as dawn cracks. Your leaves shake in surprise as someone touches you. It takes a moment to reorientate yourself and when you look down from your height your breath hitches.
“Sister?” Dream calls out, his hand still on your bark.
Relief floods your system just as a soft breeze runs its fingers through your thin leaves. Your catkin flowers caress his skin when he smiles at you. Just as fast as relief has found you, guilt consumes you again. Morpheus has escaped, it had taken him 106 years and all you have done is stand here and do nothing. Your branches groan again, more flowers blooming in its wake as you weep again, and the individual petals turn a deep blue color.
Dream grabs one of your leaves gently as it tries to recede from his touch. “Y/N,” He calls out carefully. “I do not blame you for what happened 106 years ago.”
“I am touched by your sacrifice.” He pauses as he picks his next words carefully. “You were the only one who came to my side when I needed it.”
You still stay quiet but your petals slowly start to return to their yellow colors. Morpheus takes this as a good sign and continues.
“I love you, dear sister, I wish for you to never doubt that. If only I could give you a hug for all that you had done for me,” He prods and extends both of his hands outwards.
You purse your non-existent lips in thought, a very tempting offer. Why not try one more time, to be by your brother’s side? Your bark groans again and you concentrate. You try to remember the details of your human body. How did your hair look? How did you hold yourself? Did you have a mole on this side of your face?
Your leaves and branches start to shake and shrink in on themselves the more you think. You call in your roots and start to wiggle your toes. You think of your fingers and how they had done so much for you: the paintings you made, the pastries you baked. One last tear escapes down your raw skin and when you open your eyes again, you are looking at Dream through new eyes.
Morpheus comes into your space and wraps his steadying arms around you. You sob into his jacket until it becomes uncomfortable. Your throat is raw when you’re finally reduced to hiccups. Through it all, Dream is holding onto you, gently caressing your hair the way you have liked since you were born.
“I like this new hair of yours,” He comments as he pulls at a few strands of your hair. It’s longer this time around and kept the same emotional properties your flowers had. It changes from blue to green as your mood shifts.
“Great, now I can’t hide my emotions anymore.” You mutter weakly to yourself as it changes to red at your slight annoyance.
Dream chuckles above you and gives you one final tight squeeze.
“Welcome home, sister,” He whispers. You take a deep breath, letting it fill your lungs thoroughly.
“Yes, I am home.”

I did a surprising amount of research for this fic. Apparently, the first woman to attain a driver's license was like in 1900 so that's why Genny was so surprised you could drive. Also, I would not recommend driving in a 1916 vehicle? Looks like it could explode at any minute.
This was a request! And requests are open, just go to my page and hit that button to submit one.
If you do submit a request, it may take me a bit to get to them just because of the nature of it and my classes are starting to get ready for finals. (Your girl is graduating this semester woohoo!)
I will see you in the next fic!
♡ Yours, Layla

ohh, great! in that case, I'd love to see Valeria w a sister!reader. whether its headcanons of having a 'fight' training w her. (idk how to call it honestly-im sorry hope u get me😭).
Or could be a fic abt how both get in the military together, then are separated after a few years, and how reader now in the tf 141 meets her once again during her interrogation, when the tf captured val. + if she realizes reader is w alejandro (no need to add this if its too much).
thank u in advance, and please, no pressure! Take your time!
Hello again friend!!! I love the idea of Valeria being a protective big sister, so cute!! (○` 3′○) I also really like your fic idea, I might return to it in the future and tag this post if you would be okay with that!! Thank you for requesting!!
|| Valeria Garza Training with her Sister ||
Warnings: Fem reader, cursing, and mild violence
Tumblr media
Valeria would be very reluctant to let her little sister get involved with her work
But she would still want you to be able to defend yourself
She knows she puts you at risk by association, so she takes it upon herself to train you
I can see that maybe in this instance, Valeria has been taking care of you since you were both small
Because of this, you immediately wanted to follow her to the army
She didn't like this and instead wanted you to have a better life but you stood fast and eventually followed her again when she became El Sin Nombre
She would keep your existence a closely guarded secret and not tell very many people your her sister, lest you get used against her
Instead, you become her confidante and second-hand
While she is training you, I can imagine she would be tough on you
It because she cares and wants you to be able to protect yourself when she can't protect you
So she would be a little hard on you when you mess up but she would be quick to help you understand something
She would want to teach you everything she knows
Hand-to-hand, how to shoot guns, she would even train you with knives to prepare you for every possible outcome
When you get better at it, I can see her making you spar with some of her men and laughing whenever you knock them on their ass
Likes to see peoples faces when you catch them off guard with your skill and strength
She may even begin to trust you more with her business and introduce you a bit more to it
She doesn't particularly like what she has to do but she does it so you'll have more opportunities
An unrelated headcanon: She would definitely give her sister a matching gold chain like hers
Perhaps Alejandro knew about your existence (because we all know there was something between him and Val)
So he uses this information to try and catch El Sin Nombre
However, they aren't expecting you to be as dangerous as you are and are quite shocked about it
After they're able to catch Val, before they can fly her out, you are able to save her to everyone's shock
She is also shocked and very proud of her little sister because leading a whole cartel is no small feat

Big brother's here ☆ Jason Todd & Younger Sibling Reader
Tumblr media
You're the second youngest member of the Wayne family and Jason Todd's favorite sibling 🦇 GN!Reader
First off, Jason Todd is a naturally caring person
Even with his grudges and anger, he still cares about his family
So when it comes to you, he's extra caring and protective
You joined the family a little earlier than Damian did, all bright eyed and freshly orphaned
Your connection with Jason wasn't immediate, he was still processing many emotions, his thirst for revenge and the betrayal, and avoiding the manor like the plague
You didn't know much about him except for his face and name, which you'd seen in portraits
Bruce always avoided talking about him, but when he slipped his face would turn somber and regretful, which left you wondering
But the day you two met, when he'd been forced to join forces with the other bats for a specific operation, it was... strange, to say the least
Jason was conflicted at best and angry at worst
Angry at Bruce for bringing yet another kid into this wretched life
And conflicted as you took his hand into your smaller ones and felt himself melt
He always did have a soft spot for kids and it didn't help that you were so damn cute
"You have some rotten luck, squirt." He'd say softly before teasingly flicking your tiny nose, making you giggle. "To end up in this house of all others."
Even though he was supposed to help with the mission, Jason spent all of his free time with you as long as Bruce wasn't around
He'd make an effort to spend time with you.
Reading, playing, teasing, and even cooking with you
Mind you, he's got a busy life, but for you he'd put some extra effort to be a good role model in your life
Since the people in your life were a bunch of costumed freaks
Jason would try to keep you away from the bat life, no doubt about that
He's tired of seeing kids being put in danger, tired of the never ending cycle of abuse and neglect, so he'd fight tooth and nail to keep you away from such dangers
But he'd also teach you self defense
Because y'all live in Gotham
You know he'd 100% take you out to eat whenever you got a high grade or won a competition
Or dyed Tim's hair pink
Or laughed at one of his lame jokes
He just likes spending time with you, since you're the least infuriating sibling and a damn cutie
But that doesn't mean he wouldn't tease and be an asshole either
Mess with his things when you're hanging in his house?
You're cleaning his dishes
You go through any awkward phases?
He's keeping pictures and videos until the day he dies
Probably keeps them in encrypted hard drives for future blackmail and teasing
He was the absolute worst during puberty
Always mocking your voice cracks
Pointing out your pimples
Then you'd mention his early robin outfits and he'd put you in a headlock
He'd take you out to ride on his motorcycle whenever the people at the manor got too much
Jason and you gossiping behind Bruce's back
He'd probably rant about his love life to you through the phone
You're the only sibling he can do that with without putting his crush(es) in danger anyway
If you bleached your hair to match his white streak he'd probably cry a little after roughhousing with you
He may be a bit of an ass sometimes, like every older brother
But Jason truly loves you
You're his favorite sibling
(When you're not messing with his guns unsupervised, that is)

Kenny and Karen with a teenage sibling reader.
Tumblr media
AN: sorry for not including Kevin in this he just doesn't have much character to work with.
You spend more time parenting them than your actual parents do.
If you're playing with Karen and doing her makeup for her you have to do kennys too because he wants to be included in everything.
You do kennys makeup for when he dresses up as princess kenny.
You had to explain to kenny that no you can't keep a possum as a pet, he was not very happy with this information.  You know how kenny comforts Karen when he's in the Mysterion costume, yeah he does that with you too and you not knowing he's mysterioin end up telling him he reminds you of your younger brother and that even if he does not realize it you are proud of him and think he's a pretty amazing kid.

IM... SPIDERMAN !
Tumblr media
PLATONIC! child! takemichi x older! sibling! reader
summary ... you confess your hidden secret to your baby brother..
warnings ... fluff, takemichi is so gullible, reader is taking advantage of this, authors attempt at humor
an ... this is just something stupid I wanted to write lol
Tumblr media
"michi! michiiii!!"
takemichi perks his head up at the sound of his older sibling's voice getting louder as they made their way down the stairs and into the kitchen where he was
"michi! i have to tell you something! it's crucial! you can't tell anyone about this!!"
"not even mikey?"
"no! not even him! this is really important!!"
his sibling dragged the chair backwards to sit on it before moving it forward with their body to get closer to the kitchen island
they lead over the counter to look at takemichi--who was just drinking the leftover milk from the bowl of eaten cereal--
they adjusted their position on the chair, now sitting in a kneeling position with their legs under them and having their arms folded over each other on the counter
"whats so important? you don't usually wake up this early.." he whispers the last part
they just smile at him and then look over their shoulder, making it seem like they don't want anyone to hear what they were going to say to him
looking back at him they wave their hand for takemichi to get closer
he leaned over a bit but [name] didn't appreciate that he still wasn't close enough
"come closer! i don't want anyone to hear this, only you" [name] whisper-shouted
he furrowed his brows but leaned even closer to hear what his older sibling wanted to tell him
"whats wrong? did you do something to shinchiro-san again?" he asked
"nah, not this time, but you have to promise me you won't tell anyone what im about to say.. its a very important secret I was keeping from you.." they sadly smile at him
he rabidly blicked, his older mature and very honest sibling keeping something from him??
[name] looked like a sad puppy from keeping this very important secret from him, so he nodded, takemichi didn't want [name] to feel guilty..
'gotcha..' [name] thought
"im..."
"spider-man.."
"WHAT!!" takemichi's eyes widened and he almost stumbled off his chair
thankfully his spider-man!! sibling saved him before he busted his ass from falling off the hightop chair
he most definitely bragged about his sibling being spiderman to toman and they too fell for [name]s lies
