i did in fact buy some silk yarn to try for shawl 2, but it won't be here for several weeks and that is simply too much time to spend not making a shawl. i may cast on an interim one and i do have some yarn already that would be a good candidate, but while i'm thinking about it i've started a hat.

#if i use my current yarn id still need beads. i love to shop for beads and they ship much more quickly but still not instant #and i demand instant gratification from my knitting nowadays. due to my various other life problems and difficulties #box opener #hat is the midas hat which is an all-stockinette hat where this side is a provisionally cast on brim #which will fold over on itself and then be knitted together before carrying on with the hat #making it ear-warming and practical. i opted for this mainly because if i can't be knitting lace i refuse to be bothered with patterned #stitching of any other sort. especially ribbing which unfortunately has always bored me #yarn is msy vespa which is the self-reward yarn i posted about ages ago. it's nice so far #i was toying seriously with using both skeins at once to do double-width stripes #may try it out after the brim fold to see what i think but im not sure it'll be worth the minor additional fuss. #knitting
