Hi there! Wrote my first fanfic thing for In Stars and Time, and I'm pretty proud of it! A little story about voices and listening... and a memory of screaming.

At Siffin, some of the Iraqi tribes in the right wing of Imam Ali’s army began to route and flee. Their leader, Abdullah ibn Budayl, refused to flee with just a few hundred men as the Syrians attacked him. Imam sent Malik al-Ashtar to rally those who fled, and after that, Malik defeated every Syrian regiment that came to fight him as he made his way to Ibn Budayl.
Tabari writes:
He came to ‘Abdallāh b. Budayl, who was with a group of the qurrā’ between 200 and 300 strong, which had held its ground so stubbornly that they might have been heaps of stones. He drove the Syrians back from them, and when those qurrā’ perceived that their brethren were at hand they asked about the Commander of the Faithful. Al-Ashtar’s men replied, “He is alive and in good health, in the left wing and fighting the enemy in front of him.” “Praise be to God. We thought that he must have perished and you too,” they said. ‘Abdallāh b. Budayl said to his men, “Let us advance,” but al-Ashtar sent to him: “No! Hold fast with the army and fight—that is better for them and increases the chances of survival for you and your men.” But he refused to heed that and went on just as he was toward Mu’āwiyah, surrounded as if by mountains. In his hand he had two swords. He had been wounded, but he was in front of his men, and every time a Syrian approached him he would strike him and kill him. When he had killed seven, he came close to Mu’āwiyah, but the latter’s supporters rushed to him from every side, and he and his band of men were surrounded. He fought until he and some of his men were killed, while a group of those who had been wounded retreated in flight.
Ashtar sent Harith ibn Jumhan al-Jufri to fight off the pursuing Syrians.

Dhikr of Allāh gives you physical strength
Narrated Ali bin Abi Talib:
Fatima came to the Prophet (ﷺ) asking for a servant. He said, "May I inform you of something better than that? When you go to bed, recite
Subhan Allah' thirty three times,
'Al hamduli l-lah' thirty three times,
and 'Allahu Akbar' thirty four times.
Ali added, 'I have never failed to recite it ever since." Somebody asked, "Even on the night of the battle of Siffin?" He said, "Even on the night of the battle of Siffin."

(isat spoiler, THIS TIME IT IS TRULY FULL GAME, THE FUNNY ACT 6 SECRET INCLUDED, BE WARY)
(also cw for murder)
TTOS version of the act 6 pre-fight dialogue from ISAT
(The Favor Tree.)
(You take a step forward...)
(The sun is shining.)
(The wind is blowing through the village.)
(The tree's leaves rustle around gently.)
(The place
under the tree
is empty.)
(You walk a little farther, look around, trying to see if there's anything left behind, but...)
(There is nothing. Siffrin is gone.)
(Why?... Where did he go?...)
(Or... He was here to help you with the loops, right?)
(The loops won't happen anymore, you're too exhausted for that, so has Siffrin disappe-)
(!)
(You see something shine, where Siffrin used to sit.)
(You pick it up, and.... it's a Silver Coin.)
(....huh.....)
Pockets -> Souvenirs -> A Silver Coin
"A silver coin you found under the Favor Tree."
(You look at the coin from all angles.)
(There is nothing special about this coin. It's standard Vaugardian currency. It has no recognizable grooves or special designs.)
(And yet, you know.)
(You've seen this coin before.)
(The one which was with you throughout almost all of your journey.)
(The one which you had in all of your loops.)
(The one left in your pocket right now.)
(And the coin you're holding.....is identical to it.)
(But why is a perfect copy of your coin....here?)
(...)
Loop: "Sif."
(Nothing.)
Loop: "Sif, answer me."
Loop: "Or should I call you by your previous name, instead?"
(...Siffrin descends from the thick crown of the tree, just like when you first met.)
(He is silent, looking straight at you, with a fake smile and no emotion in their single eye.)
(There is nothing in their appearance resembling you. You might not even belong to the same species. And yet....)
(You are certain.)
(This is you.)
(You take out your own coin, flip it, aiming it at Siffrin for him to catch it...)
(Siffrin catches the coin without even diverting his gaze and flips it in the air.)
SIffin: So, starlight.
Siffrin: You won! You defeated Euphrasie, the Scary Lady!
Siffrin: You even broke the loops, Loop!
(His voice is seemingly joyous, but then he starts laughing.)
Siffrin: Haha! It was kinda funny, wasn't it! Loop, stuck in the loops!
Siffrin: And now they break free! Finding out why this is happening, finally finding the courage to talk to their friends!
Siffrin: ...Which means my role as a guide is done. You should leave.
(The fake grin turns into an almost hostilely neutral expression.)
Loop: (...) "..."
Siffrin: ...What?
Siffrin: Don't you want to leave to your friends?
Siffrin: To finally finish your journey?
Siffrin: ISN'T THAT WHAT YOU ALWAYS WANTED?
Loop: (...) "..."
Siffrin: ...Still here?...
(Siffrin closes their single eye.)
Siffrin: Then let me tell you a story.... A story which has been erased from existence.
Siffrin: I was once in your place. Like you, trapped in the loops, not knowing what to do, desperately trying to find a way out.
Siffrin: I even had a looping companion, just like you had me.
Siffrin: And like you, on one of the countless loops, I found out about the Wish. Not the one I made, but the other one.
Siffrin: And I rushed to the companion! I thought, "wow! I finally figured it out! I need to share this!"
Siffrin: And I told them! The Wish, my theory, the way I could maybe break out using it....
Siffrin: But it wasn't happening that day. Because.... my companion snapped.
Siffrin: And I learned a lot in that moment! In a cruel twist of fate, they were also previously looping in time, like you, like me! But they couldn't even beat the person occupying the House, so they gave up their Wish for another, to escape from their loops. And they ended up with mine.
(Siffrin does a brief pause, as if to collect their thoughts.)
Siffrin: And in that moment.... they had enough. They had enough of me succeding. They HATED my progress. And so.... they made a third Wish - to be back in their place.
(?)
(But, if their place was-)
Siffrin: "-where Siffrin's place was, where are they then?"
(!)
(You realise, now.)
Loop: "The companion's name...."
Loop: "...was Loop."
Siffrin: Correct! You're so BLINDING smart, starlight!
Siffrin: And Loop stole everything from me! My origin, my story, my struggles, my friends! And as I learned today, it was right at the end!
Siffrin: And the best part? They don't even remember!
(Siffrin starts quietly laughing, then louder, and louder, it becomes almost maniacal, he can barely stand, holding his stomach....)
(And then suddenly he stops, as if he never laughed in his life.)
Siffrin: You're very smart, Loop. You even avoided some mistakes that I made. But you could never expect yourself being another me rather than me being another you. And who is to blame you. This....
Siffrin: ...is absurd.
Siffrin: And since you refuse to leave even now, I have a VERY fun idea!
Siffrin: We shall fight! Let's have a cute, misniscule battle, like two siblings with the same cruel parent!
Loop: "..."
Siffrin: Nothing to say? Good! Don't want any words from your blinding mouth anyway!
Siffrin: STARS, killng you will make me SO HAPPY!
Siffrin: Ready?~
Loop:
Siffrin: Nuh-uh! No choice! We are doing it RIGHT NOW.
Siffrin: Time to shine, starlight!

In Stars And Time: Siffrin and Odin
WARNING, I AM ABOUT TO GO FULL OVERLY DETAILED LITERARY ANALYSIS BRAIN ON A VIDEO GAME, YOU ARE WELCOME TO HIT ME WITH "SOMETIMES THE CURTAINS ARE JUST BLUE" ABOUT THIS
Also, there aren't any major spoilers for In Stars And Time in this post so you can read it right now if you haven't played In Stars And Time. But you should play In Stars And Time, it's extremely good. Or at least you should watch a fully voiced LP of it.
Now that you have been warned:
Here are some depictions of the Norse god Odin in his aspect as "The Wanderer".
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This was a pretty common mythological motif for Odin. He would show up somewhere wearing the clothes of a humble traveller in an attempt to test people's hospitality. The big floppy hat and thick cloak were ordinary clothes, used to protect from harsh weather, and he uses his magic spear Gungir as a walking stick. The thing which marks him as Odin is that he only has one eye -- Odin gave up one of his eyes in exchange for wisdom, and no matter how good his disguise was, he would always be missing an eye.
The idea of an old man in a cloak and hat carrying a staff who was secretly an incredibly wise god-figure is certainly not unique to Odin, appearing in many different mythologies. The cloak, hat and staff of Odin were one of several mythological sources that informed a certain archetypal wizard and ensured that pointy hats were always thought of as "wizard hats" instead of just "practical traveller's hats".
Tumblr media
Now let's look at some pictures of Siffrin, the main character of In Stars and Time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hmm. We have big floppy pointed hat. We have all-enveloping cloak. We have eyepatch. We... well, admittedly, we don't have the staff/spear/walking stick (in-game he fights with knives), or the full beard. But we have three out of five!
Does this mean anything?
Probably not to be honest! The reason that Odin wore that kind of clothes was precisely because they were generic traveller's clothes: Odin wore them as a disguise, not as his everyday wear around Asgard. In In Stars and Time, one of Siffrin's defining character traits is that he is a traveller from an unknown land, but he's probably wearing the clothes precisely because of their practical aspects, not because he's a god in disguise.
Also, I don't think that there are that many thematic connections between Siffrin and Odin. Siffin didn't willingly trade his eye for wisdom: he lost it while protecting someone else. About the closest thematic parallel I can find is the idea of "Wisdom through suffering". Odin jumped through a lot of weird hoops to find wisdom -- trading his eye wasn't the half of it. And Siffrin goes through a lot of weird crab to learn how to navigate the dungeon of In Stars And Time.
One connection that I am willing to draw, though, is that the artist/designer of In Stars And Time was probably thinking about Odin and his counterparts when they were designing the character who is a traveller from an unknown land! And that's pie smell!
In conclusion, please play In Stars And Time, or if you are broke like me, please watch someone else play it.

Who are the ibadis ☪? Never heard of them, I though Muslims were Sunnis or shias.
Ibadi Islam is a branch of Islam with followers predominately from Oman and Zanzibar. They originate from an extinct sect called the Khawarij, or the Muhakkima.
They were a group of Shi'as that defected from the army of Ali (a) after the latter's arbitration with the Umayyad governor Muawiyah (la). They believe that God has the right to judge between two warring parties based on a Qur'anic verse, and that Ali (a) committed the act of kufr (disbelief), God forbid, by engaging in peacetalks with Muawiyah (la). (see: Battle of Siffin)
Although the Khawarij were extreme and known for their brutal treatment of other Muslims that weren't part of the Muhakkima, they were ultimately defeated by Ali (a) at Nuwaiyrah and dispersed throughout the Muslim world. The Ibadis are a moderate group that still believe that Ali (a) was in the wrong for arbitrating with Muawiyah (la), but do not hold any animosity towards him unlike their precursor.
While they're mostly similar to Sunnis, Ibadis have similar views to Shi'as as well. One being the concept of Taqiyya, the act of dissimulation, which must be utilized while in danger. Another stark difference is their attitude to sin. While Sunnis and Shi'as believe that minor and major sins can be forgiven or cleansed, Ibadis believe that major sins pull a Muslim out of belief and should be shunned as a result (bara'a). While they have their own collection of hadiths, they don't necessarily reject Sunni narrations.

Hazrat Ali {A.S} talking to His army before The Battle of Siffin :
( I can't control my tears when I read this , Hazrat Ali {A.S} was so concerned about His enemies ,unbelievable...🌹
●Never start a war yourself, Allah does not like bloodshed, fight only in defence. ●Never be the first to attack your enemy, repulse his attacks but do it boldly, bravely and courageously.
●Never waste your time in praising yourself and your deeds (in the battlefield by reciting epic verses) but instead extol Allah and the Holy Prophet.
●Never chase and kill those who run away from the battlefield. Life is dear to them, let them live as long as death permits them to live. ●Never kill wounded persons who cannot defend themselves.
●Never bare a dead man for his coat of arms or dress.
●Never cut nose or ears of dead men to humiliate them.
●Never resort to loot and arson. ●Never molest or outrage the modesty of a woman.
●Never hurt a woman even if she swears at you or hurts you.
●Never hurt a child.
●Never hurt an old or an enfeebled person.
This battle was started on 1st Safar 38 A.H. and lasted for more than two months. During the period, about eighteen encounters took place. To avoid unnecessary shedding of blood, Imam Ali offered to end the quarrel by personal combat, but muawiyah realizing who and what Imam Ali was, declined the challenge. In spite of every exasperation, Imam Ali commanded the troops to await the enemy’s attack, to spare the fugitives and to respect the captives". In the Battle of Siffin, one of the famous companions of the Holy Prophet ﷺ, Ammar Yasir and another great favourite of the Holy Prophet ﷺ , Uways Qarani, fought for Imam Ali a.s and both were killed in the battle.

Baskı --Türkler, Cilt I, Editörler: Hasan Celal Güzel, Prof. Dr. Kemal Çiçek, Prof. Dr. Salim Koca, Yeni Türkiye Yayınları)

▪️◾▪️Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, said to Al-Hur: Walk with us a little, then we'll go down. So he walked with him until they came to Karbala. Al-Hurr and his companions stopped in front of Al-Hussein, peace be upon him, and prevented them from marching, and he said: Get down in this place, for the Euphrates is close to you. Al-Hussein, peace be upon him, said: What is the name of this place? They told him: Karbala. He said: It is of anguish and affliction, and my father passed this place when he was traveling to Siffin while I was with him, so he stopped and asked about it, so he was told its name.

Salam Sister!!! Are the dreams at asr time good or bad? Also do u know what some of the dreams indicate?
Wa alaykum assalam wa rahmatu Allahi wa barakatuhu dear!
Well I don't think it's about Asr time in particular, I know there is a joke going on in some middle eastern cultures about the dreams of Asr time and that they are often known to be crazy and confusing, but there is nothing known for us as Muslim about that.
But, about dreams in general, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said “A good vision (ru'ya) is from Allāh and a bad dream (hulm) is from Satan; so if one of you sees anything (in a dream which he dislikes), he should spit on his left side thrice and seek refuge with Allāh from its evil, and then it will never harm him” (Sahih al-Bukhari, 3118).
There are certain sunan ( habits of the Prophet ﷺ) that he used to do before sleep and that we should do to protect ourselves from Shaytan and all evil when we sleep, that are the following:
1) SUNNAH OF WUDU BEFORE BED:
Narrated Al-Bara ‘bin `Azib: The Prophet (ﷺ) said to me, “Whenever you go to bed perform ablution like that for the prayer, lie on your right side and say,
O Allah! I surrender to You and entrust all my affairs to You and depend upon You for Your Blessings both with hope and fear of You. There is no fleeing from You, and there is no place of protection and safety except with You O Allah! I believe in Your Book (the Qur’an) which You have revealed and in Your Prophet (Muhammad) whom You have sent.
Then if you die on that very night, you will die with faith (i.e. or the religion of Islam) - Sahih Al-Bukhari 247
2) RECITING SURAH IKHLAS, FALAQ AND AN-NAS BEFORE BED:
The Prophet (ﷺ) used to seek refuge from satan at night by reciting Al-Mu’awwidhatan (both Surah Falaq and Surah Nas) as well as reading Surah Ikhlas.
Narrated ‘Aisha: Whenever the Prophet (ﷺ) went to bed every night, he used to cup his hands together and blow over it after reciting Surat Al-Ikhlas, Surat Al-Falaq and Surat An-Nas, and then rub his hands over whatever parts of his body he was able to rub, starting with his head, face and front of his body. He used to do that three times. - Sahih Al-Bukhari 5017
3) HADITH BEFORE SLEEPING – CLEANING BED SHEETS
Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “When anyone of you go to bed, he should shake out his bed with the inside of his waist sheet, for he does not know what has come on to it after him, and then he should say: ‘Bismika Rabbi Wada`tu Janbi wa bika arfa’uhu, In amsakta nafsi farhamha wa in arsaltaha fahfazha bima tahfazu bihi ibadakas-salihin.” - Sahih Al-Bukhari 6320 and Sahih Muslim 2714 a
4) DHIKR AND TASBEEH BEFORE SLEEPING:
The Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) before sleeping was to recite subhanallah, alhamdulillah, and allahu akbar thirty times.
Narrated Ali bin Abi Talib: Fatima came to the Prophet (ﷺ) asking for a servant. He said, “May I inform you of something better than that? When you go to bed, recite “Subhan Allah’ thirty three times, ‘Al hamduli l-lah’ thirty three times, and ‘Allahu Akbar’ thirty four times. Ali added, ‘I have never failed to recite it ever since.” Somebody asked, “Even on the night of the battle of Siffin?” He said, “Even on the night of the battle of Siffin.” - Sahih Al-Bukhari 5362 and Sahih Muslim 2727 a
5) SLEEPING ON RIGHT SIDE
Narrated Hudhaifa: When the Prophet (ﷺ) went to bed at night, he would put his hand under his cheek and then say, “Allahumma bismika amutu wa ahya,” (O Allah, in Your name I die and I live) and when he got up, he would say, “Al-Hamdu lil-lahi al-ladhi ahyana ba’da ma amatana, wa ilaihi an-nushur.” (Praise be to Allaah who has brought us back to life after causing us to die, and to Him is the resurrection) - Sahih Al-Bukhari 6314
6) SUNNAH TO NOT SLEEP ON YOUR BELLY
It was narrated that Abu Dharr said: “The Prophet (ﷺ) passed by me and I was lying on my stomach. He nudged me with his foot and said: ‘O Junaidib! This is how the people of Hell lie.'” - Sahih (Darussalam) Sunan Ibn Majah 3724
7) RECITING AYATUL KURSI BEFORE SLEEPING
Allah’s Apostle asked, “What did your prisoner do yesterday?” I replied, “He claimed that he would teach me some words by which Allah will benefit me, so I let him go.” Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) asked, “What are they?” I replied, “He said to me, ‘Whenever you go to bed, recite Ayat-al-Kursi from the beginning to the end —- Allahu la ilaha illa huwa-lHaiy-ul-Qaiyum—-.’ He further said to me, ‘(If you do so), Allah will appoint a guard for you who will stay with you, and no satan will come near you till morning.’ […] The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “He really spoke the truth, although he is an absolute liar. Do you know whom you were talking to, these three nights, O Abu Huraira?” Abu Huraira said, “No.” He said, “It was Satan.” - Sahih al-Bukhari 2311
8) LAST TWO VERSES OF SURAH BAQARAH AT NIGHT
Rewards of reciting last 2 ayat of Surah Baqarah before going to bed.
Narrated Abu Mas’ud: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “If somebody recited the last two Verses of Surat Al-Baqara at night, that will be sufficient for him.” - Sahih al-Bukhari 5009

Obviously, it is not a must to do all of them at once every time you are going to sleep, but you can stick to the couple of easy ones, the ones that would come so naturally to you, and bit by bit you build a habit. When I started implementing the before-sleep sunan in my life, I had written them on a small post-its and put them on the wall beside my pillow, like facing your head position when you're going to bed so that it will be a visual reminder for me and that helped a lot Alhamdulillah.
I would definitely recommend you do some ( or all if you can) of them and in shaa Allah you will be protected from the bad and confusing dreams my dear!

Eid al-Ghadeer Mubarak!
I was honored to write and recite a nasheed (or poem?) for the special occasion. If I knew how to post audio on Tumblr I’d put it here, but here are the lyrics:
We followed this way
A thousand days, a thousand nights
A thousand years, your Shia are here
Their hands are out for Ghadeer
Ali Ali Ali,
We’ll say your name a thousand times [x4]
Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali~
We’ll say your name a thousand times [x2]
Holy in Najaf, he’s watched by a thousand eyes
He’s only one man, but he’s worth a thousand sights
هل من مبارز؟
He’s worth a thousand knights
Next to the Prophet, he’s won a thousand fights
Standing all alone, he’s worth a thousand lives
Standing all alone, he’s worth a thousand lives
Ya Ali! Your Shia are excited to say
On Ghadeer your hand’s raised and it’s like the sun’s rays!
Ya Ali! The orphans are happy you’ve came, and Allah even sent Dhulfiqar in your name
We followed this way
A thousand days, a thousand nights
A thousand years, your Shia are here
Their hands are out for Ghadeer
Ali Ali Ali,
We’ll say your name a thousand times [x4]
Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali~
We’ll say your name a thousand times [x2]
Slept in the Prophet’s bed, a thousand lessons in one night
You hit Marhab’s head, a thousand men took flight
At Siffin, Munafiqeen, they saw your might
Extend your hand, we won’t neglect your rights
Extend your hand, we won’t neglect your rights
Ya Ali! In your path, we know we won’t stray
No one else can lead
You’re the master of the brave
Ya Ali! The oppressed are happy you’ve came
Seeking justice, now we have all flocked to your name
We followed this way
A thousand days, a thousand nights
A thousand years, your Shia are here
Their hands are out for Ghadeer
[repeat chorus]
