Konami should have done this with the Silent Hill HD Collection

Ok so everyone knows the Silent hill HD collection is a dumpster fire. This was partly due to Konami not having the source code and giving the job to a small studio.

My question is why couldn't they just rip a copy of Silent hill 2 & 3 and use that as the source code?

Hello, I have a question please. If Konami uses the original recorded voice lines in Snake Eater remake, do the original voice actors make any money from that? Thank you.

They are making the game in-house and are not re-recording voice lines or hiring new actors. So it depends on the actors’ contracts, if they were supposed to get residuals or got a buyout or some other kind of deal, and how long the terms of the contract are. Also, there are pay differences between actors under SAG-AFTRA (unionized) and ones who aren’t.

Voice actors as a whole are notoriously underpaid, residuals are notoriously pretty rare, and Konami is a shithole that’s notorious for treating the people on its payroll horribly, so I wouldn’t expect much (if anything). David Hayter and the most likely candidate for EVA’s anonymous-to-date VA might be big enough names to see something, but again — and I can’t stress this enough — it’s Konami.

I remember when the Silent Hill HD Collection was in development all of us were looking forward to it and then Tomm Hulett gave us a preview and it looked and sounded like ass and so we’re all like hey this looks like fucking garbage he was all I CAN’T BELIEVE FANS ARE SO UNGRATEFUL, HOW CAN YOU JUDGE SOMETHING THAT’S NOT DONE YET, WE ARE DOING YOU A FAVOR BY GIVING YOU A SNEAK PEAK, YOU STUPID BRATS DON’T UNDERSTAND, IT’S NOT GONNA LOOK LIKE THIS WHEN IT’S RELEASED and then a few months later it was released and it looked the exact fucking same.

personally I'm like UGH. Would love for a new silent hill story but also 2 has been major hyperfixation for me a lot. So for now....I'm trying to be hopeful?

I do wish James's new model looked a little softer in the face because I love the soft look in general of PS2 horror games visual styles. But to me he looks more like James than the dead by daylight model. This James definitely does look like a man that is a man that would stick his hand in unidentified substances. God. They better keep THAT in this remake. Most important detail amirite?
