Hitchhiker
Famous actress Siluca Meletes is on her way to an interview when she happens upon a stranger in need of a ride.
It was a rather stormy evening as Siluca made her way down the road. Well, she sat in the back of the car as her bodyguard, Irvin, drove. Siluca’s face was only lit up by the light of her phone as she scrolled through her social media. Her sister Aishela had texted her to be careful, and to not talk to any strange men.
She wasn’t expecting the car to suddenly grind to a halt.
“What’s going on?” Siluca asked in a panic, not being able to see much from where she was. That, and the headlights could only shine through so much darkness and rain.
“A man ran in front of us. In fact...he’s still there.” Irvin said, readying his holster in case this stranger meant any harm. However, Siluca did catch sight of a young man leaning against the hood of their now parked car. He was frantically waving, looking rather distraught.
“Roll down the window.” Siluca ordered, and Irvin gave her a bewildered look.
Come again?” He asked.
“Roll down the window. Let’s see what he wants.” She repeated, and Irvin did as she asked. Rolling down the window that would be where shotgun sits, Siluca poked her head up just as a very drenched man came towards the window.
“Hey...sorry about that. Look, I hate to ask this but can I have a ride? You’re the only car I’ve seen in a long while.” The man, looking rather sheepishly, ran a hand through his dripping green hair. Irvin and Siluca shared a look, both uncertain about this.
The stranger started to sweat more when he noticed the distrust, and not to mention Irvin readying his gun.
“Uh...My friends thought it would be funny to just ditch me here, so-” He started to ramble, but Siluca cut him off.
“Where would you need to go?” She asked, and he blinked a bit.
“It’s not far...Just an apartment complex that’s in the city a couple hours that way.” He pointed in the direction that Siluca was currently headed.
“What a coincidence, I’m going that way as well.” She said, and his eyes looked hopeful. Siluca closed her eyes and hummed for a second before finally telling Irvin to unlock the door.
“Thank you so much!” He said as he slid in the backseat beside her. Siluca had to admit, he looked innocent enough with his eyes and that smile of his. However, she quickly shook those thoughts out of her head.
“I’m Siluca Meletes by the way.” She greeted politely.
“And the man who wanted to kill me?” The stranger asked as he noticed Irvin continuing to watch him from the rear-view mirror while somehow still driving perfectly straight.
“That’s Irvin, my bodyguard.” All her words suddenly sunk in for him.
“Bodyguard? Are you important?” He asked, and she pouted before looking surprised. He didn’t know who she was? He sheepishly stated how he doesn’t watch too many movies, but only knew her name because his friend, Moreno, has a small crush on one of her characters.
“I’m Theo. Theo Cornaro.” He said, and her eyes widened.
“The son of Carlo? The one who owns that big lumber company up north?” She asked in surprise, and he nodded sheepishly.
“What are you doing in the city?” She asked him out of curiosity.
“I wanted a change of scenery. To start my own company.” Theo told her, and she nodded in understanding. The ride continued on like that, asking questions about each other’s lives. Siluca felt more comfortable knowing this hitchhiker wasn’t some weirdo, but actually the son of a really impressive man.
“By the way, you said your friends just abandoned you on the side of the road?” Siluca asked, and he laughed at that.
“Oh yeah, my friends Villar and Lassic were drunk and thought it would be a hilarious idea to leave me out here in the middle of the night. My friend Alexis, who was driving, told them he was not pulling over to allow them to do this. But you know how drunks are...so they pushed me out of moving vehicle.” Theo said, and against her better judgment, Siluca laughed.
“Why didn’t you just call your friend to come get you?” She asked him, and he winced.
“...I may have slipped in the mud and broken my phone.” He explained, and she nodded in understanding before mentioning he could’ve used hers.
“I wouldn’t want to use a lady’s phone unless I had to.” He politely told her, causing her to blush.
As Irvin mentioned that they were nearing Theo’s destination, Siluca couldn’t help but feel a bit saddened by that. Her ride was so boring until he showed up, and now, she might never get to see him again. Soon, after Theo told Irvin where to go, they pulled up alongside of a brightly lit up building.
“This was fun...will I ever see you again?” Theo asked, saying her own thoughts out loud as he stepped out of the car and leaned against the door.
Siluca quickly came up with a solution, and wrote down her number, handing it to him.
“Call me sometime. After you fix your phone.” She said with a smile and a giggle. Theo blushed at her words before taking the number and nodding eagerly.
“I will...Thank you so much for your help...Now, I need to have a word with my friends.” As Theo said this, Siluca noticed a group of young men standing by the entrance of the building. When Theo walked over to them, they started to wolf whistle and make remarks on how he has a girlfriend now.
Theo turned scarlet at that, but it didn’t stop him from turning towards Siluca’s moving car and giving it a wave.
She continued to look out her window as the green-haired man grew smaller and smaller in her foggy window. Soon, it disappeared entirely as Irvin drove deeper into the city to get Siluca to where she will be staying for the evening. Still, the young woman couldn’t stop herself from sighing.
“My lady, should I pick up strange men more often?” Irvin asked in a teasing manner, a slight smirk on his face.
“S-Shut up and drive, Irvin.” Siluca replied with a bright red face. Irvin could only chuckle to himself at the reaction he got out of her. And as for Siluca, well, she couldn’t complain about this night’s events.
Especially when she got a text the next day.

HMMM.... FASCINATING!
Selata Sevrin: oh my god. Rava's best friend for sure. Dombay's sweet little starchild. You guys know how I joke that Selata is troll Taylor Swift because the Apricis are basically my 'what if this artist that I like as a musician but not as a person was actually niceys' family? It only gets more true with her. She would absolutely learn to play the guitar as a child then hustle until she's a popstar against all odds. It's what she's meant for. She has the motivation and the skill and she WILL become a pop icon for lowbloods across Alternia. She's taking Rava with her too, and modeling her clothes to make both of them cultural icons.
Krygen Aprici: 2 for 1 popstar combo! I think he would be really close with his new brother Siluca. The two of them probably have a lot more close of an act, like a 2 person Jonas Brothers type of thing I guess. I just KNOW they're an absolute sensation for teenage girls everywhere. This one's not spectacularly interesting because it's basically just giving Krygen the confidence and privilege to pursue music as a career for real because he doesn't need to worry about getting by.

Voices aren’t my thing so not really
I HC Katsura is a bit monotone in her speech thanks to being raised with an ex anbu father. I can’t see her sounding that smooth, so if I had to pick a voice, I’d say she’d sound more like Akari Kitō as Siluca Meletes

My dnd character Siluca! She is a 6th level scribe wizard, 1st level fey ancestry warlock, half-elf. Currently stuck in the tomb of annialtion with her party. We were teleported there with no way to go, but down… she got that ugly scar while in the tomb- as a lingering injury during a fight with a beholder, after being system shocked unconscious by its ray. She found out her long lost mother is the legendary witch queen herself Tasha during the campaign!
Dnd inspires me so much to write and create art. It is nice having something like that in my life. I haven’t done a digital painting since I was in collage in 2011, so this was a challenge and I am very out of practice with my art, but it was a lot of fun and I’m happy with my progress. I hope to maybe make some of my fellow party members.

Babysitting: Grandfather Edition
Unable to find a babysitter, Theo and Siluca know that grandpa is the next best option.
Normally, finding a babysitter would be easy. I mean, they practically had a live-in babysitter when it came to Irvin. And he was really good at watching the twins and keeping them safe as well as under control.
However, Irvin had a date with a young woman who would like to remain anonymous, so Siluca had to (reluctantly) let him go.
Now, they had to find a new babysitter.
Emma and Luna were another option but having twin girls watch toddler twin boys would most likely end in an incident. Aishela did it once, and Siluca decided never again. Marrine and Alexis were way too busy to watch the kids. Juzel was out on busy, Lassic was Lassic, and Moreno said he needed just one day to relax.
“I don’t know why I didn’t think of this!” Siluca exclaimed just when she and Theo seemed out of options. He gave her a confused look, and she just flashed him a smile.
“Father.” She told him, and upon hearing that, Theo let out a sigh of relief. Then, the babies started to cry, causing both parents to quickly jump into action.
Luckily, Aubestes was always happy to watch his grandchildren. He was the one who lectured Theo to get on it and have some grandbabies already, so he was more than pleased when they asked him to babysit.
“Thank you so much, father.” Siluca said once he arrived to their home on Sistina. She gave him a hug, which Aubestes returned in full.
“I’m always happy to watch these little rascals.” He said affectionately while ruffling Villar’s blonde hair. The two-year old’s light brown eyes peered up at his grandfather as he was in his arms. His brother, Carlo, was still nestled in the arms of his mother, who was stroking his green hair. However, his violet eyes opened when he felt himself being placed down.
“Be good now.” Theo told his sons. Villar was placed beside his brother on the carpet, and gave his parents a cute grin.
“Okay daddy!” Villar said in excitement, but poor Carlo only replied half-heartedly. While he loved his grandfather, he was really a momma’s boy, and didn’t like it when his parents left.
However, he would have to deal with it for a few hours.
After Theo and Siluca left, giving plenty of hugs and kisses to their children, Aubestes was left with them alone. He figured that the two toddlers couldn’t give him much trouble, but just like all the other times, he was proven wrong.
The older man doesn’t know how they do it.
Poor Carlo started crying no too long after Siluca and Theo left. He was constantly asking for “mama”, and Aubestes had him in his arms all the time trying to comfort him.
Meanwhile, Villar (who absolutely adores his grandfather) kept trying to have Aubeste’s attention on him instead of his brother. Villar was definitely more mischievous than his brother and had a habit of getting into trouble. The older man was having trouble juggling his attention between the two. Normally, Theo and Siluca were there as well, making visits a lot easier.
However, now he was by himself.
Around a rough hour or two passed, Aubestes couldn’t keep track, and the twins were starting to give him signs that it was time for dinner. The older man never had to do this by himself before, so he struggled for a bit. However, this allowed the twin boys to have a bit more playtime as he left them on the carpet with all their toys.
“Alright Carlo, here you go.” Aubestes gave a bowl of food to this grandson first as he was the one sitting patiently on the carpet, his tears having dried. The little boy seemed to brighten up at the sight of food, and happily began to eat.
“I need to get your brother now.” He said while patting the boy on the head as he munched on an apple. However, when Aubestes went to look for Villar, he couldn’t find him. The older man didn’t panic yet, thinking he hasn’t checked everywhere yet.
However, panic started to rise the further he looked.
“Villar! Villar!” Aubestes called in a worry tone as he looked behind every piece of furniture in every room. He knew he should keep an eye on Carlo, but this matter was much more pressing. He didn’t know how he would face his daughter if he told her he lost her son.
“Papa!” Carlo’s voice came from the kitchen and Aubestes, recognizing that the kids call him that, rushed back into the room. When he got there, everything looked fine, so he didn’t understand what the fuss was about.
“Papa.” Carlo said again before pointing towards a cupboard. Walking towards it, Aubestes caught the sound of giggling. And when he opened it, low and behold...
...there was Villar.
“You found me!” The bolder twin said cheerfully while lifting his arms, the universal toddler sign for “up”. Aubestes took him into his arms for a hug, his heart calming from the panic of thinking he was lost.
“Please don’t do that again.” The grandfather said softly with a smile, relieved he was safe. Villar merely giggled after promising to do so, and was then presented with his own dinner.
While the kids are stressful to watch and take care of, Aubestes loves his grandchildren with all his heart and knows they feel the same way. They are good kids, and he could never be mad at them for any reason. And truthfully, while there are points where it’s nerve-racking, Aubestes is a good and reliable babysitter.
Theo and Siluca know this when they come home to find their sons on either side of Aubestes as he reads them a bedtime story.
