Hello Esotheria! I love your Sims and gameplay! I wanted to ask you if you could maybe put the links from your medieval clothes on here. I already have a few, but I really love the clothes on your Sims 😍

D’aw, thank you! ^^ To be honest, I get my medieval clothes from all over the place, so I couldn’t link all of them without turning it into a full-on resource page. If you browse my ‘WCIF clothes’ tag, most of the recent asks pertain to clothes seen on my BaCC sims (a.k.a medieval/fantasy clothes), so that should give you a good start!

Like most medieval/fantasy simmers, I get almost all of my stuff from The PlumbBob Keep and affiliated sites. As far as individual creators go, I recommend browsing stuff by Maya40, Skell, Simborg, Hat-plays-sims, Vampirekiss6661, Hodgekiss, DavinaOjeda, Jellymeduza, Dark_moon, Blueheavensims, Gryning, Simbury/Cupcakeey, Gryning, and Asimplevampire!

What’s your favorite Sims death? -- I find it incredibly entertaining that sims can spontaneously combust if they get too warm.

Alpha CC or Maxis Match? -- mix, but ig it leans towards realism nowadays.

Do you cheat your sims weight? -- not that I can think of. sometimes if I am shooting a specific scene and they weren't that shape at the time. but not during gameplay.

Do you move objects? -- absolutely. I'm incapable of decorating without moveobjects on honestly.

Favorite Mod? -- uhm... I guess the 3t2 traits project or ACR/Romantic Standards.

First Expansion/Game Pack/Stuff Pack? -- I have been playing ts2 since it literally came out, so my first ep was whichever one came out first. I think that was Uni? but in spirit of the question, for sims 4 I only bothered downloading the game when they came out with cottage living lol.

Do you pronounce live mode like aLIVE or LIVing? -- aLIVE. my brain always said essentially like a movie set "and we're live!" so.

Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made? -- Evren Thorne (who you're more likely to see in @luverofralts or @nappe-plays-the-sims game than mine) because he's not story relevant yet, or (much to everyone's chagrin) Callum

Have you made a simself? -- at some point far in the past, yes. I do not have that sim anymore, and I probably wouldn't do it again, but yk. I was also 11 when I started playing this game, so of course I made a digital barbie of myself. (not to say it's childish to do in and of itself, but that it's definitely something that every child tends to do)

Which is your favorite EA hair color? -- since ts2 only has 4, I'm going to assume this was more ts4 centric. in which case I like the neutral blonde/light blonde colors (the two that are less yellow)

Favorite EA hair? -- eh. for ts2 I wouldn't use any of them. for ts4... the mullet thing from werewolves? ig.

Favorite life stage? -- teens or young adults. (I think I may be the only person I know how actively likes Uni for ts2 the most lmao)

Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay? -- oh. both. depends on my mood.

Are you a CC creator? -- yeeeup. recreationally though. (read: with no real consistency.)

Do you have any Simblr friends or a Sim Squad? -- I feel like I do lmao. I at least hope they feel the same LOL.

Do you have any sims merch? -- I now have a gameplay guide for the original Sims game lol. but I think that's all I own.

Do you have a YouTube for sims? -- nope. I uh... don't like watching gameplay videos, and sims machinema is way too time consuming to make so I do not.

How has your “Sims style” changed throughout your years of playing? -- oh gosh. I was one of those edgy emo kids so it was a lot of grunge and dyed hair and bright makeup. I've honestly been leaning a bit more towards that style again though so....

Who’s your favorite CC creator? -- depends on what I'm looking for. tbh a LOT of the CC I have now is older stuff that I just still like. but anyone who isn't exclusively making 4t2 stuff is probably someone I've downloaded from.

How long have you had Simblr? -- technically this blog since January 1st 2020. that being said, I moved from LJ to simblr in like.... idk, 2012? whenever that great migration happened.

How do you edit your pictures? -- a lot of photoshop. color correction, a slight film grain at the very least. most times I also do aesthetic edits to hide clipping, and add painted hair strands nowadays. if I can't get an emotion right for a screenshot, I edit those too.

What expansion/ gamepack is your favorite? -- for ts2 I really don't think I could pick one. the problem is I use like 90% of them for SOMETHING gameplay wise, even if I don't use the main function. ie: I love the chemistry/attraction from nightlife, even though the whole downtown thing is frankly annoying sometimes (do YOU WANT TO GO DOWNTOWN? no, random townie I do not. ) But, seeing as I listed it earlier, I guess university.

What’s your favorite Sims death?

Axe throwing. I can't remember who made it. But it's fun.

Alpha CC or Maxis Match?

I don't have a preference. If it looks good in my game, I use it.

Do you cheat your sims weight?

No. They can eat or jog to their heart's content.

Do you move objects?

All the time.

Favorite Mod?

It's hard to pick a favorite. The Clothing Tool. I can get my Sims new clothes without making them go downtown to buy them.

First Expansion/Game Pack/Stuff Pack?

For Sims 1 either Livin' Large or Hot Date. For Sims 2, University. For Sims 3, whichever was the actual second one - generations? For Sims 4, Get to Work.

Do you pronounce live mode like aLIVE or LIVing?

Alive.

Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made?

Mitzi and Jeff. They lived in a trailer house and had a hippie van. In Sims 1. I miss them.

Have you made a simself?

Yes. She lives with her grand-daughter, just like me.

Which is your favorite EA hair color?

Hmmmmm. Black? It shows less flaws, maybe.

Favorite EA hair?

I usually don't put EA hair on Sims I make. Probably the long straight ones since lots of cc long hairs jut out from the Sim's front and that bugs me.

Favorite life stage?

Toddlers. They are so darn cute.

Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay?

I like to do both. Usually, I build a house for my family and move them in and then get too busy playing them to do much in finishing furnishing and decorating the place. If it's a building contest, I get it done, furnished, and decorated.

Are you a CC creator?

Yes. I spent far too long only creating and now I'm having so much fun playing my game instead. I'm still working on my projects, just not one after the other anymore.

Do you have any Simblr friends or a Sim Squad?

Yes. Over the years, I've met some wonderful people in the Simming Community.

Do you have any sims merch?

No. Someday I will either crochet or sew up the Freezer Bunny.

Do you have a YouTube for sims?

No.

How has your “Sims style” changed throughout your years of playing?

My Sims and lots used to be all grunge-y most of the time, then they lived kind of got caught between medieval and now-a-days. Now my people live and look whatever the mood strikes me for that Sim.

Who’s your favorite CC creator?

I have favorites. With a S. There are so many people that make such great stuff that I can't narrow it down to just one.

How long have you had Simblr?

2013. I ignored it for years, though. Only came on tumblr to see what you all were doing.

How do you edit your pictures?

With Photoshop. I just crop my screenshots down, add words if necessary, save, and go on my merry way.

What expansion/ gamepack is your favorite?

I'm not sure. Like stuff in all of them.

@clouseplayssims tagged me. I only play TS2 (never played TS1, only briefly played TS3 and only played TS4 for about 5 mins), so all answers pertain to TS2!

What’s your favorite Sims death?

Death by Old age. I live my Sims to live a long and fulfilled life. But, playing medieval, my more common deaths are 'death by childbirth' (mod), 'death by starvation', and 'death by fire'!

Alpha CC or Maxis Match?

In my medieval game, I use alpha CC. All Maxis items are hidden, so my game is pretty much 100% CC.

Do you cheat your sims weight?

No. My sims start off either 'average' or 'overweight', and how they change is up to them in game. (Can weight even be cheated in TS2?)

Do you move objects?

All the time!

Favorite Mod?

So many! But my absolute faves are the @sunmoon-starfactory suite of sets. They add so much to historical game play, and I would never be happy playing without them!

First Expansion/Game Pack/Stuff Pack?

I purchased TS2 discs going back to 2006.... I can't even remember the first EP/SP I purchased. I do remember hanging out for the release of Seasons though, and rushing to the shop to buy it after uni classes finished for the day!

Do you pronounce live mode like aLIVE or LIVing?

Live like aLIVE. However, the arguments for live like LIVing are pretty persuasive. You build in build move, and live in live mode!

Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made?

I love the Sims I'm making for my Elder Scrolls 'hood. Current fave would have to be Wylandriah, a Bosmer elder!

Have you made a simself?

Never. I'm still on the fence about that one. I do find it a little weird putting other Simselves in my game.

Which is your favorite EA hair color?

Red. I'm partial to gingers IRL. I do use Pooklet colours though, and my fave Pooklet reds are Explosive & Pyrotechnic.

Favorite EA hair?

None of them?! They are all hidden in my game and I use CC.

Favorite life stage?

I am really partial to toddlers and children.

Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay?

Both! I love neighborhood decorating, building lots, worldbuilding, and playing. Currently still rebuilding my DL folder, and can't wait to get back to building and then playing my Elder Scrolls neighborhood!

Are you a CC creator?

Not at all. I have done a few basic recolours, and I can edit objects very primitively in SimPE. I would love to learn, but lack the time and patience!

Do you have any Simblr friends or a Sim Squad?

Not really. There are quite a few Simmers I chat to, either via email, Tumblr DM's or Discords.

Do you have any sims merch?

No.

Do you have a YouTube for sims?

No.

How has your “Sims style” changed throughout your years of playing?

I started with a mish-mash of CC I found on the exchange. Then, started on LJ and fell in with An_nas and Penny Sims, and became very Maxis Match. Then, drifted toward grunge (I miss my grungified Baskerville, it was spectacular!). Then, I took a few years away from Simming and came back fully committed to historical gameplay. My Elder Scrolls 'hood is my 'anything goes' hood, with supernaturals. I also plan an Anglo-Saxon 'hood set in the 800's, and an Anglo-Norman 'hood set in the 1300's. They will both be more 'historically accurate' within the confines of the game.

Who’s your favorite CC creator?

@sunmoon-starfactory, followed by Almighty Hat. there are so many others I love though!

How long have you had Simblr?

My first post was on 26th October 2015!

How do you edit your pictures?

I use Photoshop... Crop, unsharp mask, add border, occasionally add lens flare. I might use a filter if I can find one I like.

What expansion/ gamepack is your favorite?

Seasons.

Regency Career Pack Part V: Four More Base Game Careers

I’ve decided to post the rest of the base game careers I have finished. The only one left is culinary. I’ve been busy with other projects, having some issues with my own historical game, and have had some writers block in terms of finishing up those chance cards, but I don’t want your sims to miss out on the other careers while I’m distracted. I will of course upload that one when I finish it. This pack will include the military, business, politics, and law enforcement.

Credits to: @victoriansimmer, @simbury, @kidinthenight, the Historical Sims discord, @morgaine2005, and aysarth who pretty much wrote the entire adult military career, including the chance cards.

Some more info about the careers:

Military: Replaced with a period appropriate military career. The writing style is a little different because I didn’t write most of it, I just did some editing and made the teen version.

Business: Replaced with Trader. Your sim starts off working in someone else’s shop cleaning and loading wagons, then works their way to owning their own store and expanding their business empire until they are a Tycoon.

Politics: The pay is higher for this one, since the idea is that only wealthy landowning males would be doing it. Your sim starts out as just a voter, then working as a clerk for a politician and then running their own campaign, where they can move up the ranks in parliament and beyond. There is some asoiaf referenced stuff at the upper levels that I’m sure is not historically accurate for regency/victorian era but sorry, I’m a nerd and I think gameplay wise having a Hand of the King is a fun idea.

Law Enforcement: Replaced with a Constable career. The job levels are mostly just the ranks in the actual english constables but there are period accurate chance cards/descriptions.

What’s your favorite Sims death?

Whatever I feel like in the moment, often both.

Do you cheat your sims weight?

I don't, although I feel like TS4 weight is broken.

Do you move objects?

Often!

Favorite Mod?

I'm going to go with the traits mod, because it's added so much variety to my sims and I really enjoy it.

Sims 1 - Livin' Large

Sims 2 - University

Sims 4 - I didn't buy any for a long time, and then I bought several at once, can't remember off the top of my head which was technically first.

I've made so many x.x I'm going to go with my recreation of Katheryn Howard from The Tudors.

In Sims 2 once.

The Sims 2 Red is just... something about it pleases me.

Don't really have favorite hairs, ha.

Favorite life stage?

Teens in general are really fun for me.

Both! I go through phases where I do nothing but build, phases where I decorate like a MONSTER, and phases where I play non-stop.

Not even remotely. I've made a few things, but they're very sad.

I have the social skills of wallpaper so not really?

Do you have any sims merch?

Official merch? No. But I've got a 3D printed plumbbob attached to a sims-themed headset cover I made and a cowplant sticker.

I do! Same username as on tumblr, clouseplayssims.

How has your “Sims style” changed throughout your years of playing?

I started with just playing for the sake of it, but along the way I got really involved in character-building, rotational playthroughs, etc.

Who’s your favorite CC creator?

This is so hard!!! I'm going to say Fractured Moonlight because I'm obsessed with the Sun&Moon objects.

How long have you had Simblr?

I started posting in 2014, though I had one for CC collecting purposes earlier than that.
