Where are my words?

Why have I lost them?

Why can't I find them?

Are they standing in the corner?

Like children who don't listen

Have they hidden under my bed?

Like monsters in the night

Did you lock them up in the closet?

Like an abusive parent

Are they chained in the dungeon?

Like a prisoner on death row

Did they runaway from me?

Like rebel children

Are they trapped in a cage?

Like animals in the zoo

Are they infected with cancer?

Like an oncology ward

Have they choked on my vomit?

Like a drunkard at the bar

Have they descended into hell?

To be tortured for eternity?

Are they lost in the woods?

Like tourists on vacation

i am learning how to be a good writer. hell, i’d settle for being a decent writer. but right now, i have my weaknesses. i’m a slow writer. i’m not the best at turning a phrase. i have other areas i need to improve.

anyway, i’m reading to learn. i’m writing to learn.

and i’m okay with the use of metaphors and similes.

I wrote a poem

New beginnings

Free as a bird she sits on the hill

Free as a cloud she gazes

Free as the music she listens to

Free as the sky that stretches across the world

Free as the rain on a sunny day

Free as the grass touching every corner to ever be touched

Free as the flowers, choosing wherever they want to live

Free as the night, giving everyone closer

Free as warmth, comforting everyone when they need it

Free as the rainbow, a hope for the new future

Free as the stars alike but never close to others

Free as the words on a book, telling a story wherever she walks

Free as trust, for everyone can

Free as life for everyone has one

Free as death for everyone will

Free as dandelions for the fly wherever

Free as a horse, never in the same spot

Free as a musician, never playing the same song

Free as and adventure, a new one starts every day

Free as bees, working everyday but happy

Free as a bird she sits on the hill
