Spencer James throws a holiday party that brings in Homecoming’s tennis queen Simone Hicks, bestie Keisha McCalla, and Spencer’s former nemesis Cam Watkins from Atlanta for winter break. Secret Santa assignments and a party takeover lead to hilarious antics and drama.
Thea is filming a lot on set so I hope Homecoming fixes the mistakes they made in All American and actually spends more time establishing Thea into the friend group dynamic and less on her relationship with Damon because that relationship is temporary. We all know that. They made that mistake with Layla. When she and Spencer broke up her place in the friend group became so off and never recovered. She doesn’t even fit in the group dynamic anymore. She genuinely can’t be at gatherings where it makes sense because it all centers around Spencer. She shows up and it’s weird because like why is she there and why would she want to be? It got so weird that she became so far off and away from everybody else for damn near three seasons and even now it still doesn’t make sense because Layla genuinely doesn’t fit in her own ‘best friend group’.
Everyone is already kind of getting really close but Thea is new. She just met these people and isn’t close to any of them so there should be more focus on building those friendships INDIVIDUALLY and not on pretending like her and Damon are forever. Thea needs a strong friend in that group, someone who actually loves her for real and be there for her so when it falls apart with Damon and it’s not just pity from Simone later on like come here, come back to us the way Olivia is like that with Layla. Layla is there because of Olivia being like you should come and inviting her when it’s always weird.
Nate and Thea need to bond and bond strong for me. Or JR. Or somebody but strong where it’ll make sense why she’s still there beyond Damon and Simone. Do the friendship group better this time.
