I made a gallon of chai concentrate over the weekend and no one stopped me. I've been harboring this delicious nectar in my refrigerator all week and have yet to be apprehended. Pouring a little cup of delight and my little metal straw and sitting out on the porch flaunting my consumption every single afternoon with nary an interruption from law man nor busy body alike. Truly living.

Sunday, a day of pure delight, unfolds with the warm embrace of the sun. It's a time for nurturing not only plants but also your inner peace. As you tend to your green friends, you find solace in their silent company, a symphony of rustling leaves and whispered secrets. The gentle caress of the breeze carries the promise of relaxation, inviting you to savor a leisurely meal in the company of a good book, cherished thoughts, or even your beloved partner. On Sundays, you gift yourself the precious luxury of time, a chance to slow down, recharge, and rediscover the beauty in the simplicity of life.🍀

Simple Pleasures
I am feeling deeply ranty about a "simple pleasures" meme running around about not being into anything fancy, just coffee and books.
If you know anything about how coffee goes from the bush to the cup, you know that it's a labor-intensive process and a terrible choice for a "simple pleasure." (Or the sugar most of you put IN your coffee... Holy Moley)
Don't get me started on books! Sure, sure, books aren't as expensive as they were pre-Gutenberg. I get that. But the industry that supports them getting to your hand (never mind if you read electronically -- whoo boy!) is a big deal. THEN there's the TIME to READ the damn things.
I couldn't think of two other things that would indicate more blindness to the systems that support us than the example of coffee and a book as a "simple" pleasure!

The older I get, the happier I am, and that's due in no small part to me noticing and appreciating smaller and more mundane things.
How nice it is to cook in your own kitchen with a partner or roommate.
The sound of your neighbors chickens bawking around the yard in the morning.
How soft and fluffy the bath mats feel on your bare feet after they've been thru the wash.
They're important, the little things. Because they exist even on your most wretched days.
