Kayla Flemming Appreciation Post

Unfortunately with marrying into a legacy, you do become Just Ken (or Kendra) but Kayla deserves a story in her own right. She mentors Eggnog in fitness, helps him rehearse for his roles, makes healthy meals to supplement the party food dishes that the butler typically comes up with, and autonomously checks on little Capri Sun and gets whims to spend time with her far more often than Eggnog. And she does it all while working fulltime as a professional trainer to the stars.

Oh, and once you take her for a spin in CAS, give her a more up-to-date eyebrow style and better clothes (the only genetic tweak I made was altering her cheekbones slightly, aaaand the usual ridding her of that ashy tone that EA loves to saddle brown skinned characters with), she's a knockout.

Understandably she's a little resentful of not only putting her own career on the backburner to be the primary caregiver (alongside the butler) of their child, but Eggnog's lack of acknowledgement of this sacrifice. However, she never lets this impact her relationship with their daughter. In my mind Kayla is the type of woman who would be waaaay out of Eggnog's league had he not some level of fame, but he has and so unluckily for her, that threw him into her orbit.

Kayla, we appreciate you, even if Eggnog doesn't as much as he should. And if so? Then maybe someone else out there will...

Hollywood Dream Legacy Challenge

Have you ever wanted to live a life (and lives) like a celebrity? Then this challenge in made for you! In this one, I decided to play a little more with the Get Famous expansion pack, while giving some twists and turns to create a fun little narrative to follow along. I’m aware that some of the careers mentioned don’t provide any fame, but I decided to add it anyway for the sake of the plot. So, if you think it’s necessary, the Road To Fame Mod can help in some of these.

This is my first ever legacy challenge, and I haven’t seen any other like this, but if you feel like there are similarities with another, please let me know!

Obs.: Everything the mentioned below can be modified to your liking if you want to!

Packs Needed: Get Famous, Get to Work, Discover University, Parenthood (optional)

Rules:

- Start with less than $2000

- Cheats that don’t give any extra advantage over other players are allowed

- You must complete every goal before moving on to the heir

- There are no specific rules regarding who should be the heir, but if you want to, you can follow some of the rules from the original Legacy Challenge.

GEN 1: Aspiring Star

Your childhood was never filled with comfort. Coming from a poor home, you’ve always had the dream of making it big on the silver screen to finally get out of the chains that have been restraining you to an unknown and miserable life. When finally being able to achieve everything you’ve ever wanted, you promise to give everything you’ve never had to your kids.

Traits: Ambitious, Creative + 1 Optional

Aspiration: Master Actor/Master Actress

Start with little to no money.

Start an acting career.

Become a worldwide celebrity during your lifetime.

Being part of a famous dynasty always brought you a sea of advantages. Having your whole life in the spotlight isn’t always a good thing, but it’s undoubtable comfortable. With all the fame, it was time to follow your greatest dream of becoming a musician. Your last name not only gave you privilege, but also a great deal of attention, which you decided to enjoy in the best way possible: becoming a serial dater (a very irresponsible one).

Traits: Music Lover, Non-Committal, Hates Children

Aspiration: Musical Genius

goals:

Master 3 music-related skills.

Never marry.

Have 3+ kids with different partners.

Achieve at least 4-star fame while being a musician (‘Road to Fame’ mod recommended).

Master the Musician career.

Complete the Musical Genius aspiration.

GEN 4: The Outcast

Growing up in a troubled home wasn’t something you’d wish for. One of your parents had multiple kids and neglected them equally, which led to a survival fight of who could gain more attention. Since the beginning you promised to never follow into your parent’s footsteps, so the moment you found out you were going to have a kid, you promised to protect them fully, what also meant stepping off the spotlight. With time, money started to run low, so you had to do the unimaginable to maintain your family’s living standard, while also taking good care of your partner and your children.

Traits: Self-Assured, Family-Oriented, Kleptomaniac

Aspiration: Public Enemy

goals:

Master the mischief and parenting skills.

Have 100% friendship and romance with your partner.

Never have any fame points.

Earn at least $1000 stealin.g

GEN 5: Starstruck

You had very loving and attentive parents during your childhood, but one went away too early due to their criminal pathway. Whilst looking back in their life, you stumbled across your famous ancestors. Determined to turn your life around, you try to become a famous actor/actress just like your great-great-grandparents, but unfortunately, your late parent history got in between, which led to a bad fame/reputation. Eventually, you give up on your great dream and decide to live an ordinary life.

Traits: Ambitious, Self-Absorbed, Loner

Aspiration: World-Famous Celebrity

goals:

Master the mischief and acting skills.

Never complete the World-Famous Celebrity aspiration.

Have a bad fame.

Go to law school.

Max the lawyer career.

GEN 6: Disney kid

Since your parents couldn't make it big, you were forced to become a star since the beginning. Working hard wasn’t really a choice, so you hung onto it without ever complaining, but with all the accumulated pressure during your upbringing, eventually you got lost into bad business during your teenage years and eventually lost all the fame, some money, and the love of your life. With nothing else to lose, you begin to pursue your true dream of becoming a chef.

Traits: Perfectionist, Foodie, Party Animal / *Outgoing

Aspiration: Master Chef

goals:

Get at least 3 fame stars before becoming a young adult.

Reach level 6 of the acting skillMarry and have a kid.

GEN 7: Mastermind

You had a great childhood filled with money and fame, but due to your parent’s adventures, you had nothing left once you became a teenager. Decided to be better than your once lazy parent, you make it your big life goal to gain all your wealth back through your intellectual highness.

Traits: Overachiever / *Perfectionist, Genius, Ambitious

Aspiration: Academic

goals:

Master the logic skill.

Live with your parents until becoming a teenager.

Move out with your ex-famous parent.

GEN 8: Runaway

During all your childhood, your parents’ job took up all their life. In your free time you unleashed your artistic self since the beginning, which was deeply condemned by your parents, who believed that art could never bring any type of success. Regardless of the lack of support, you continued to invest your time into all types of artistic stuff, all while hiding yourself. Being a free young adult, you got into university to get an art history degree, becoming a famous artist and proving your parents wrong.

Traits: Art Lover, Socially Awkward / * Loner, Creative

Aspiration: Painter Extraordinaire

goals:

Master the painting skill.

Max the painting career.

Get an art history degree with honors.

Growing up in a gallery-like household, you always picked up on your parent artistic talents and with time you tried to take up the fame as well, but unfortunately your career wasn’t successful. Without resentments, you decided to relax and open a business, always having your children’s well-being in mind. The success of the business provided a good and stable income and a bigger investment in your kids’ talents, which made you a perfect parent who was determined to give their kids everything they needed and more.

Traits: Art Lover, Loyal, Outgoing

Aspiration: Super Parent (or Big Happy Family for Base Game)

Have a level 5 painting skill.

Never earn any fame points.

Have a successful business.

GEN 10: The Last Great Dynasty

Having great parents was a big deal for you, especially regarding your drama inclinations. You had everything you wanted all the way until your teenage years, but for some reason you felt something was missing. Looking back in the family legacy, you discover an unknown past which was hidden for years, deep inside the roots of Del Sol Valley. Investing all your time in theater classes, getting a drama degree and climbing all your way to the top, you tried everything possible to become famous like your ancestors and finally be the last one of their legacy.

The Ward Den Pt 1

I decided to rebuild Judith Ward's house in a way that would make it look like it was part of a larger estate. In my head that loop is her driveway and the terraced gardens that surround the place are hers. I started by trying to match the stone from the terrain and make some parterre beds in a classical manner with the idea that the beds closest to the house would be the most ornate and the ones further away would be simpler, but that the colors and shapes would provide harmony. Then I started building the house, settling on a neoclassical Hollywood Regency style with Art Deco and touches of MCM and modern style. I wanted it to seem like the house was built in the 1920s and then gradually added to and updated over time to the owners' whims. I used a *ton* of packs and CC in this build. If I had access to it, chances are it made it in somewhere and it is a CHONKY $399,000.

Most of the CC is from @peacemaker-ic especially his Vintage Glamour add-ons and his Romantic Garden add-ons, but his stuff is all over the place. I used my Romantic Garden flower recolors in the garden beds and some of the art is by @plumbobteasociety and @madameriasims4

In the next part I'll show the guest suites and the private family rooms.

Villareal Household: Chapter 5, Part 3

Starlight Accolades, here we come! In this part it's awards time, Deanna and Paris have a quick stayover, and Devin heads to set to start a new film project.

For ease of reading IF the infants are trying to say real words I'll put the English in brackets, otherwise it's babble. Luna (mummy) and Devin (mama) use some German and Italian.

Schatz (German) meaning treasure Schnucki (German) meaning sweetie but doesn't have an exact translation Bambino/s (Italian) meaning male child/children Amore (Italian) meaning love Piccolo (Italian) meaning little one Caro (Italian) meaning dear Zia/Zio (Italian) meaning aunt/uncle Tante/Onkel (German) meaning aunt/uncle Nonna/Nonno (Italian) meaning grandfather/grandmother

Devin: Mama and mummy will be back later, you get some sleep bambinos

Luna: Thanks so much for doing this

Paris: No problem, it’ll be fun

Luna: They will probably just nap but if you could show them the TV when best actress is up in case Devin wins. She doesn’t think she will but I hope she does

Paris: Of course. I never figured with her confidence she’d doubt winning something

Luna: The accolades are serious business. You do have our numbers right? And the emergency ones?

Paris: Oh my gosh, Luna, get out of here! It’ll be fine, I promise

Host: Welcome one, welcome all, to the very first televised Starlight Accolades in the ChangingPlumbob universe! Being televised is not the only difference in our award show tonight. To honour our nominees we have thrown away the VIP ribbon to allow everyone to bring a plus one. What’s a star without the person who helps them shine after all. Some of our nominees are also attending virtually so stay tuned for glitz, glam and winners!

Host: We have honoured our stars in many fields tonight but it is time for stars of the silver screen!

Devin and I don’t hold our breath. She got a nomination last rotation but I don’t think it’ll hold up between rotations. Plus from my investigating it’s pretty hard to get one, I think I’ll be waiting several rotations for the bling

Host: And in our final film category, best actress, the Starlight Accolade goes to…

There is a pause for dramatic effect.

Host: Devin Villareal

Me and Devin: well that’s unexpected

The audience laughs at her reaction as she receives the award.

Devin: Thank you so much everyone! I want to say even though Melodies of the City stars me, Connor and Mina, we had a whole team behind us. You’ve already honoured Levi for his wonderful direction, he truly kept us upbeat on set.

Devin: Beyond him there was a fantastic team of producers, set dressers, editors and camera operators. I want to thank especially my team in make up and wardrobe for putting up with me. Of course no acceptance speech would be complete without a mention of those we love. Luna, amore mio, I may be standing here but I couldn’t have done it without you. You and me are the best team I will ever be a part of. Thank you ma and pa for encouraging my drama! Joey, Deanna, Kelly, thanks for putting up with your intense older sister. And to my precious bambinos, you can go back to sleep now, mama will be home soon with something shiny!

Devin takes some time to pose for photos, showing off her angles. She discovers she’s a self-assured sim (honestly on brand).

Cassandra: I’m glad she got the award, the movie is so good

Luna: Tell me about it, those songs get stuck in my head every time she sings or hums them

Cassandra: Is her next one a musical

Luna: Believe it or not, it’s a superhero flick

Cassandra: I believe it, someone always seems to be releasing a new one

Devin: Who’s ready to be put in their crib by a star actress

Alfred: Mama mummy lo lo me (love me)

Luna: I think he’s ready to tick off another milestone, let me get the camera ready

Devin: Did you wait until we got home? That’s very nice of you

Alfred: Mama mummy lo lo me vee (love me very much) *waves*

Devin: Oh, oh, I think he’s waving! Are you getting it Lu

Luna: Absolutely! We’re going to send that to nonno and nonna aren’t we schnucki

Rilian: Me eed eyet (I need night night)

Devin: Mama is here piccolo mio, let’s get you back to sleep huh

Luna: Night night Rilian, night night Alfred

Devin: *switches on lullabies* Mama and mummy love you very much

Devin: You okay De? You look uncomfortable

Deanna: Well I just don’t know how to act in the presence of an accolade winner

There’s a small silence then both women burst out laughing.

Devin: Thanks for bambino sitting

Deanna: They’re pretty cute, I may have sent ma and pa about a dozen photos

Devin: As you should, they’re clearly stars. Come on, let’s take a quick video to send them

They get the photo set up and start recording

Deanna: Tonight I have the honour of sharing space with an award winning actress, also known as…

Devin: Your daughter! We love you two

Deanna: Can I check it before you send

Devin: There’s no need, we look fabulous

Deanna: Of course we do

Devin: I mean I know I’m amazing but I didn’t think I’d get one so soon

Luna: You earned every bit of that award schatz. You are dedicated to your craft

Devin: I’m just glad I have a wife who gets that acting is a skill. You’re amazing Lu

Luna: I- thank you

Devin: Now what do you say me and you have a proper celebration

Luna: *giggles* that sounds wonderful

Devin: Bambinos, waken up. I know it’s the middle of the night but dinner was so early you must be hungry by now.

Rilian continues to snore but Alfred stretches and smiles at Devin.

Alfred: Mama I an mill (can I have milk)

Devin: You’re in luck Alfred, I have brought some milk with me

After feeding Alfred and getting him back to bed Devin scoops up Rilian. He wakes up now and is eager to finish off his bottle. Luckily both boys just had gas and Devin can go back to bed without needing a shower.

Luna gets up ready for a day of work only to discover the sink in the kitchen has broken in the night. She works on fixing it despite hating handiness. Deanna enters the room to find Paris staring at the photos on the wall.

Deanna: Buongiorno baby

Paris: What does that mean again?

Deanna: Good morning, or good afternoon, or good day

Paris: Damn, I really need to work on my Tartosiano

Deanna: Don’t worry, I’ll help you

Paris: Thanks babe

Devin: Buongiorno

Deanna: Pasta for breakfast, is that a good idea

Devin: Are you questioning an award winner?

Paris laughs while Deanna simply shakes her head.

Paris: I have been wondering Devin, what language will you use with the… bambinos

Devin: Oh, good question. Probably just a mix. Luna and I both speak Simlish to communicate to each other. But she does want to teach them Windenburgish even though I don’t speak it, and of course ma and pa would kill me if I didn’t teach them Tartosiano

Deanna: Maybe you should try learn Windenburgish. I mean we already speak two languages, would probably make it easier to pick it up

Paris: Wish I could speak more than Simlish

Deanna: In time baby

With Luna off teaching Devin spends some time with the bambinos before she has to head to set. Diaper change time does not go very well for either twin but they cheer up afterwards.

Deanna: Hey Devin, where do you keep-

Rilian: Zi Zi De (Zia Deanna)

Deanna: Ahh... is he talking to me

Devin: Sounds like it

Rilian waves at Deanna who waves back.

Deanna: Well hello to you to, have you learned to wave now?

Devin looks around for Alfred so she can feed him. He has scooted himself into the hall and is having some solo tummy time.

Devin: Piccolo mio, how about some breakfast

Alfred turns himself over to his back, looks towards Devin quizzically, then blows her a kiss!

Devin: Oh my watcher that is adorable!!! I love you to caro

Alfred: Mwah me lo (I love) mama

Devin: Mwah isn't technically a word but I don’t think mummy will mind. Can you do it for the camera so we can send her some love

Alfred: Mwah mummy

After feeding both twins Devin tries to practice crawling with them.

Devin: Rilian, can you come to mama? Come over to mama

Rilian: mama no ummy ummy (no, my tummy)

Devin: Good tummy use caro. Okay Alfred, how about you, can you come to mama

Alfred: Mama ri si (Rilian silly) *giggles*

Devin: You don’t even want to turn off your back this morning? Okay, you’re the boss I guess

Rudolphus: Congratulations on the win kiddo

Devin: Thanks. And I meant what I said, thanks for putting up with me

Rudolphus: It’s my job kid, I treat people like a canvas, you display my art

Devin: Hey Emily

Emily: Hmff

Devin: Could I have the costume for today please

Emily: I suppose so. It’s a bit out there for my taste

Devin: Like this hair isn’t

Emily: *chuckles* fair point. You know the drill, up on the stand

Devin: Connor? Is that you?

Connor: I swear not letting me stay brunette must be a joke to the hair and makeup department

Devin: Well at least I’m joining you on the odd coloured hair boat this time

Connor: Congrats on the win, it was deserved

Devin: Is this where I say you deserved yours to

Connor: *laughs* obviously. Okay, let’s practice this thing

Devin: Let me get my notes

The actors practice until director Levi calls for them to get on the soundstage.

Levi: ACTION

Devin: You will have to fight harder than that Sparrow if you want to protect Olympus

Connor: But Captain Sigma, why are we using laser swords? They are so antique

Devin: A true hero doesn’t even need a weapon Sparrow, this is just adding extra glam

Levi: CUT! Great job you two!

Devin: Let’s take a moment to remember-

Connor: We’re friends who don’t actually want to kill each other

Devin: Exactly

Levi: ACTION

Devin: Sparrow? What are you doing here? You’re supposed to be on patrol

Connor: I am worth more than patrol. You have had it your way for too long. There’s only room for one hero in Olympus, and it is not you Captain Sigma!

Devin: Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal

The two begin a fight scene, kicking up clouds of dust, and the battle finishes with Devin using the fake ray to paralyse Connor.

Levi: CUT! You guys had that choreography nailed

Devin: Selfie?

Connor: You’re remembering to do it before the lights are turned off, well done

Devin: Are you in shot? Say “Sigma”

La: SIGMA

Levi: Ladies, ladies… ACTION

La: I was so worried when Sparrow locked me out of the system that I had seen the last of you

Devin: Never! No matter how crazy Olympus gets, our love is my priority

Devin sweeps her co-star up in a passionate kiss.

Levi: CUT! Can I see if we got the right angles on that?

Devin breathes out, glad the gig is going well. She ends with gold level, a nice raise, and fame level lifted to a 4-star proper celebrity.
