Hello! I'm Ophelia.
Suppose you had a patron of the arts.
What would you make if you knew that every month, your bills would be paid and you could afford to leave the house every once in a while?
I thought I knew already. I spent, god knows how long, praying for some saint to give me a job that meant doing art as my job.
Of all my artistic skills, the one I wasn't banking on was the occult stuff. I'm honestly more of a hobbyist.
It started off well enough, but now I'm just burnt out and feel super guilty about letting another donation come through, knowing I can't really do anything with it after...
I feel like I've been disconnected from the world for a really long time so... And I can't believe I'm saying this, I think I'm actually ready to go back to doing a regular job.
I applied to a new job at my local video game store and I know I shouldn't, but I'm really hoping I get it.

Alex: Did you just take a picture of me?
[The girl leapt to her feet, squinting at Robin as he emerged from the bushes; it was far too late to run away]
Alex: You totally did, didn’t you?
[Robin didn’t know what to say, or how to explain. Taking pictures of people whilst they were in their own world was just.. fun; whether they were appreciative of that, however, was usually 50/50]
Alex: Can I see it?
[Robin barely had time to nod before the girl skipped toward him, brazenly but gently angling the screen to see]
Alex: It’s a good one though-.. do you always take pictures of people when they’re not looking?
[Robin shrugged loosely; he was just glad that she didn’t seem offended]
Alex: This camera is pretty fancy; did you steal it?
[Robin blinked, shaking his head]
Alex: Woah, your parents must be loaded!
[Robin snorted, shaking his head again]
Alex: Hm, I guess you wouldn’t be camping if you were loaded though-.. you’re camping, right?
[Robin nodded, gesturing vaguely in the direction of his campsite]
Alex: How long are you here for?
[Robin held up his hand, five more days]
Alex: Ugh, I’ve been here forever…
[Robin raised a brow questioningly]
Alex: My dad’s looking after this tower thingie for a friend whilst he’s on some show he won’t let me watch. Cool, huh?
[Robin smiled, hoping to convey the fact that it did indeed sound cool]
Alex: It was at first, anyway-.. now it’s kinda boring.
[Robin wondered how long she’d been here for the forest to become boring, but he couldn’t bring himself to ask]
Alex: You don’t talk much, do you?
[Robin dug the heel of his shoe into the grass idly, offering the girl another shrug. He was starting to think that his choice to remain silent wasn’t always a choice at all…]
Alex: My dad’s a bit like that sometimes, especially since-…
[Robin frowned, she didn’t need to finish her sentence, though she couldn’t have known that…]
Alex: Well, never mind-.. hey, do you wanna see the tower?
[Robin widened his eyes as if to say, really?]
Alex: Sure! Dad isn’t home so it’ll just be us.
[Robin lifted his sleeve to check his watch, there was plenty of time until curfew]
Alex: It’s super neat inside, c’mon!

Dipping into videogame fandoms is always wild. Like fandoms of all sorts are bad at genre conventions, but gamers LOVE to praise or criticize things for, like, blatantly subjective gameplay styles that literally just are types of game that maybe they should be playing more (or less) of, and then cap it off with a suggestion that is obviously far beyond game engine capabilities based on experience, or would radically change or cripple the intended interactive player experience / replay value
You think the devs fucked up because the protagonist is a blank slate just dropped in the world with no backstory connection or driving motivations???
Bruh... Skyrim never even hinted to you what you had done to get thrown in a cart on your way to the death penalty
I think maybe you would have more fun stepping away from the RPGs. Grab something with a named protagonist on the cover and no character creator. If you don't want this canon character to have "OOC" dialogue options when you control them that make them sound like an outsider to the plot, well, they don't tend to do that when you play something with minimal / option-less cutscenes 🤷♀️ nor do you lose critical interactive experiences if you pick a game designed from that mindset
It's never something subtle, is the thing 🤣 always with the "TRAGIC - Amazing Game would be objectively better if only it was a Completely Different Game more suited to my preferred play style"

Meet Fiora "Dot/Dottie" Button - a sim for the guild amakiir tryouts from @potionio
Fiora is a 21-year-old, shy, music-obsessed satyr, trying to learn to get out of her shell.
a bit of her backstory under the cut
Fiora is from a small village in the feywild consisting of only satyrs. When she was just 5 years old her village got attacked and, in the midst of everything, she lost her family. She didn't know what to do and did the only thing she could think, run.
After running for what felt like forever, she stumbled across a hobbit-like village consisting of gnomes and halflings. The people saw this poor child and gladly took her in, teaching her everything she knows.
