Queen Anne II of Wessex: Awe, there's my handsome man.

Anne II: How much I've missed you. And look at how you've grown! Papa will be so excited to see you.

Margaret: Richie go over and give Granny a hug.

Richard: where is papa?

Anne II: Papa went down to the village for bit with uncle George and aunt Alberta.

Margaret: George and Albie have made it here then?

Anne II: They just arrived a bit ago. And dear how are you? I surprised you arrived so early.

Margaret: I wanted to get a head start and beat the holiday traffic.

Anne II: You drove all the way from Dorset? We would have sent one of the choppers to get you two…or three.

Margaret: Just two, the Watcher only knows where your son is.

Anne II: (brief pause) … Well, yes… I’m just glad you both made it.

Anne II: How are things in Dorset? I hear you've re-planted the garden at Aldridge Lodge.

Margaret: You’ll have to come see it. The rose garden should be beautiful in the Spring.

Anne II: That would be nice. And the last time I talked to William you two were thinking about schools for Richard?

Margaret: umm, yes. I think Yeovil Boys Day School. But I’m not sure where that stands or where we stand at the moment. I’m sure you’ve heard that things had been err strained between William and I.

Anne II: (uncomfortable) Well I wasn't going to pry, but since you brought it up. Staff does talk amoungst themselves, and certain things have gotten back to me.

Margaret: I rarely see him any more. He spends so much time at that social club of his or out on meetings.

Anne II: Meetings about what?

Margaret: He doesn’t tell me. Nether what they’re about or who they’re with.

Anne II: And the club you’re referring to is the same one he goes to with David?

Margaret: Yes, that's the one.

Anne II: Well I think it’s time you two come to some kind of accordance.

Margaret: What do you mean?

Anne II: Think, you two are not just raising a son, but a future King. I was never expected to wear the crown and didn't recieve the same education or preparation as my elder sister. You two have the opportunity to start from scratch. But of course you can’t do that if you both aren’t on the same page.

Margaret: We always put Richie first.

Anne II: A child shouldn’t grow up in a home full of rancor.

Margaret: Maybe you’re right.

Anne II: With time these things tend to sort themselves out.

Anne II: Well I won't keep the two of you. We should all get ready for dinner soon.

The Duke and Duchess of Exeter Welcome Baby Girl!

More than 12 hours after she entered the world (and the line of succession), the new Princess of Exeter's birth was finally announced to the world.

According to a tweet from Exeter Palace, the 4th in line to the throne (pushing back her aunts and uncles by one spot), was born at 5:49pm at the Queen Marie Hospital, although not many details were shared beyond that.

Subsequent tweets were tweeted from other members of the family, including the Queen and Prince Consort, the Earl and Countess of Betancourt and Princess Alice.

However, an hour and a half after the tweets became public, the doors to the main entrance began twitching, as did the small crowd of the public and press gathered outside, eager to see the future Duchess, as well as the current Duke and Duchess. Finally, the doors opened and they appeared in the warm June air.

The Duke chose a comfortable brown ensemble as he escorted his wife and daughter onto the landing of the hospital while the Duchess appeared in a very comfortable looking dress from the Exeter brand, Revelation which sold out once the photos circulated.

The new parents looked surprisingly relaxed as they stood, waving briefly, before checking on their daughter, wrapped up in Mom's arms. However, the couple didn't linger for much longer after that, as their cars pulled up to take the new family of three back home.

No name or any further details about the princess have been shared, but are expected to announced soon.

The Golden Jubilee Gala Banquet

Their Majesties The King and Queen hosted a gala banquet to celebrate The King's Golden Jubilee, held at Melrose Palace.

The gala was attended by members of the royal family, the monarchs of the neighbouring kingdoms, members of Nevodian Nobility, the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister of Nevodia, as well as notable members of Nevodian society.

They were all seen wearing The Edward I Family Honour, the men of the Royal Family were seen in ceremonial Nevodian uniforms, with the women wearing the Nevodian Royal Order. The King's children were also wearing the Star of the Order of the Cross.

They were followed by Their Majesties King Tamar and Queen Amelie of Yazmia, and Their Majesties King Frederik and Queen Matilda of Landova, wearing their kingdom's respective orders.

Finally, the arrival of Their Majesties King Edward and Queen Victoria.

Chapter 1.02 - An Anniversary Celebration 2

King Emeritus Elias II sat at a table with his wife Duchess Caterina Troiani. The couple observed the guests as they moved about the large room.

“Look at the two of them. They are a beautiful couple.” Caterina said. “That they are,” Elias sighed. “That they are. He does his job well, and Helena has always been good at supporting him.” “And they look so in love.” “Yes, they do. I just hope he doesn’t lose himself, that he hasn’t lost himself. Being king will do that. Watcher knows, I know. So many things I did that I regret doing, and words I said, that I can never take back. “ “Love, you can’t live in the past. We only have now.” Caterina said. “I know, I know…”

“Excuse me, you’re highness, Duchess can we get a photo for the public?” “Absolutely not. I have retired. I am here, not as King Emeritus, but as a father celebrating his son. Please respect our privacy.” “Sorry, sir.”

“You didn’t have to be so harsh, Richard.” “One thing that I did not do well was to protect my relationship with Andrea from the public. She did a phenomenal job of protecting our kids, but I let her down on so many occasions. I’m not going to make the same mistakes Cat. You are my love, my partner, my friend, and my wife, and the public is not entitled to know anything more than your name.” “I appreciate that, but do you really want to gain a reputation of the cranky old King that was, hmm?” Caterina asked.

“God it’s sickening how in love Uncle Tony and Auntie H. Look.” Ella plopped down in a chair at her grandparents’ table. “I take it you aren’t enjoying the evening?” Elias said. “I’d enjoy it more if I could get a drink. This party is only a show. Uncle Tony’s real friends aren’t even here! Just some social climbing, power hungry …” “Ella please!” Caterina interrupted her granddaughter. “Pop-Pop, you know what I mean. Mom and dad didn’t even come, and yet here I am.” “You are here because you’re spending the summer with us. You know your parents had to work.” Caterina explained. “We all know that’s just an excuse…Oh look, here comes the royal couple now.”

“What happened to your centerpiece?” Helena asked. “The damn thing was blocking my view so I had it removed.” Elias replied. “Oh, well are you having a good time?” Helena asked. “I’d have more fun if…” “Ella, no one here is going to serve a minor alcohol.” Anthony said. “Uncle Tony…what about …” “Ella, zip-it if you still want to hang out at the royal residence from time to time.” Anthony warned. “No, Ella please, tell me what my son allows at his residence…” “Nothing Pop-pop, Nothing.” Caterina turned to Helena who had sat down during the earlier exchange. “Everything is lovely dear.” “Thank-you. It was a lot of work, but everyone brought everything together nicely.”

Christian: Thank the Watcher we have all boys.

Christian: Why?

Anne II: I'm sure it's still a swore subject for Alexandra and Alex. And best not to jinx ourselves with the topic of divorce around you know who.

Christian: Speaking of swore, have you seen my back brace? The valet didn’t pack it with my usually things.

Anne II: I'm checking in with the moving team later on, I can ask after breakfast.

Butler: Breakfast ma'am.

Christian: And what time will the family arrive, again dear?

Anne II: …It seems everyone will join us for dinner tonight, and then leave at the end of the holiday weekend.

Christian: The kids aren’t staying longer?

Anne II: I think only cousin Arthur is expecting to stay the following week with us.

Anne II: I do hope everyone is on their best behavior, the last thing we need is a story for the press.

Christian: (chuckles) and by everyone, you mean William?

Anne II: (deep sigh) He's just been so distant lately, and apparently he and Margaret have been arguing again.

Christian: I have never seen two young people perfectly content with making themselves miserable.

Anne II: Yes, well better stay out of it.

Christian: I just hope they realize they need to put the inconsequential garbage behind and focus on what really matter. If not for their sakes, then for poor Richie's.

Anne II: It doesn’t sound like you’re keeping your nose out of it.

Christian: I’m only saying how idiotic it is for him to mope around at that club of his when he has a beautiful wife and a healthy child waiting a home, both begging for attention, but he’d rather spend his days at that social club with David.

Anne II: He does leave Margaret out in the cold. She all alone taking care of poor Richie.

Christian: It isn’t right, a father’s place is with his family. Not out galavanting in the night with the Watcher knows who.

Anne II: Well leave it alone. It’s not our place to meddle.

Christian: My dear, it is precisely our place to meddle.

All the Things That We Left Unspoken

The mid-morning sun filtered in past the heavy curtains in the hotel room, shining onto Ben’s face. He groaned, head and chest still pounding from the night before. He glanced at the sleeping man beside him and smiled gently, memories floating back from the night before. They had danced and danced and danced all night, stepping on the other’s toes, yes, but dancing nevertheless. They had downed rounds of shots, for both liquid courage and because Will and Nico refused to let them leave until the entire bridal party (minus Tom and Gia’s kids, who had been hurried off to bed once the party really got going) had a shot together. They sang karaoke at the after-party (horribly, and Ben knew that he had butchered the lyrics to “Love Story” beyond recognition and undoubtedly disappointed Taylor Swift in the process) and then giggled like schoolgirls on their way up to Ben’s hotel room where they were now, waking up from one of the best nights of Ben’s life thus far.

Ben looked back down on the sleeping man's face. "You're still here." He whispered. "Are you awake?" Ivan groaned and rolled over in the hotel bed. "Ivan?" Ben asked gently, hoping to every god above that he was still asleep and they could go their seperate ways without another word. However, that didn't seem to be the case. "What time is it?" Came Ivan's mumbled voice from the pillow. Ben froze. "I dunno." He eventually said. "After sunrise." Ivan made a noise that sounded like a cross between a groan and a yawn. "You're still here." Ben managed. Ivan looked back at him over his shoulder. "I fell asleep." He admitted bashfully. "I can see that." Ben replied.

Ivan turned back to face Ben. "You didn't have security kick me out?" He questioned. Ben turned beet-red. The thought hadn't even begun to cross his mind before he went to sleep. He paused before he spoke again. "No. I didn't." Ivan raised an eyebrow. "Why?" Ben hesitated. "I..." He began. "I don't know." Ivan sat up in the hotel bed a little bit more and raised his other eyebrow. "Yes." He said firmly. "You do." Ben felt himself starting to melt under Ivan's gaze.

Ben took a deep breath before he spoke. "The press is going to be all over you." Ivan blinked. He hadn't been expecting that. He suspected that there was more to it, but didn't push. "I can handle the press." He assured Ben, but Ben shook his head firmly. "No. They’ll be all over you the second they see you leave this room." Ben looked at Ivan sadly and Ivan immediately got the feeling that he was speaking from personal experience. "Is that why?" Ben nodded grimly, although Ivan suspected that there was more to the story that Ben wasn't sharing. He wasn't going to push it any further unless Ben offered more. "Yes. I didn’t want you to deal with all that. Not without warning." They looked at each other solemnly before Ivan spoke. "I appreciate it, but I can handle it.I appreciate it, but I can handle it." Ben turned away and looked up at the ceiling before he turned back.

"Do you remember what happened to Luca after we were photographed together?" He asked. Ivan's facial expression turned stony. Of course he did. They both knew, they both witnessing the centerfolds of everything that had happened. It had been horrid on Ben's side, that much Ivan was sure of, but it had excruciating on Luca's side too. Ivan nodded grimly. "Yes." Ben sighed. "All that happened when we were kissing. This… they’ll lose their goddamn minds." Ivan knew immediately what he meant and he reached towards Ben's hand to reassure him. "No." He said firmly. "They won't." Ben released another sigh. "The press have already picked up on the fact that my family is here and they are waiting for us to show our faces." He explained. "They’ll definitely notice when you leave my room."

Ivan squeezed Ben's hand and both men tried not to turn shades of red and pink. "I’ll figure it out. Don’t worry about me." Ben released a short laugh and squeezed Ivan's hand tighter affectionately. "I don’t think my anxiety will let me."
