I wish clothing would layer better. That my sims could take off their jackets/overshirts and still wear whatever was under it, not just some “good enough” piece of clothing.

Like when EA made the jacket with polo Damian is wearing, would it have been too much to ask for that they’d checked what polos we already have in CAS and use one of those? It should be illegal to create a new jacket without also putting the shirt the sim is supposed to wear underneath into CAS.

Little Hank with little Sumo getting ready for trick and treating later.

Just like Hank Kamski is Hank Anderson’s great-grandson, little Sumo comes from the same kennel/breeder old Sumo did (as did Irene, the Bernese that shows up occasionally in the chronicle).

Little Hank’s parents would never have dared passing on the name Sumo without permission, it was old Hank who named the puppy.

Felt low key insulted just now when the game ticked off “Talk to residents” after my police sim got beaten up by a local. That’s not “talking” 😂

Meanwhile Peggy Reed lives in Lansing, in the Conifer Station neighborhood, which is… not a nice place to live.

Actually, Conifer Station makes Detroit look good in comparison.

And things couldn’t be farther from improving anytime soon, with street violence on the rise. There is only so much that cheerfulness and love can accomplish.

The game dropped me right into a sunday with Roughousing Encouraged being in the lead and little opportunity to earn influence points. Sixty influence are laughable later on, but in week 1 they feel like a king’s ransom. I lucked out and the npc voted Green Initiative in the end.

Daniel: “Phew, you found Hank! I don’t want to imagine what might have happened...”

Gavin: “I threatened him with the president. Can you imagine? Markus’ two terms were bad enough, but at least with him we could always joke how we knew him already when he was still a hot young anarchist. But Kara? She’s lived across the street for years and now she’s also family. She cannot just go and get herself elected!!! These are going to be the weirdest four years in our lifes!”

Daniel: “Well, for my part I really dig Connor being far away in Washington for four years. But if the situation freaks you out, then we could always leave Detroit and the USA as a whole. See the world, maybe fall in love with a place we’d like to retire to. Modern technology and medicine do wonders, but it’s not as if I didn’t feel my age at all - and so must you.”

Now normally Daniel was the partner who disliked change, and Gavin the one pushing forward. But today Gavin sputtered at his husband’s suggestion:

“L... leave... Detroit?!”

Now where could he have gone to? You look away thirty seconds and this imbecile manages to sit on the ocean floor chatting up the Atlanteans or what do I know.
