“About my voice. First of all, I don’t have much of one.
I have a bar-man’s power, range and durability, but I don’t have a lot of tonal beauty or finesse. Five sets a night, no problem. Three and a half full-on hours, can do. Need for warm up, light to none. My voice gets the job done. But it’s a journey-man’s instrument and on it’s own, it’s never going to take you to higher ground. I need all my skills to get by and to communicate deeply. For me to sell you what you’re buying, I’ve got to write, arrange, play,
perform, and yes, sing to the best of my ability. I am a sum of all my parts.
I learned early this is not something to fret about. Every performer has his or her weak link. Part of getting there is knowing what to do with what you have and knowing what to do with what you DON’T have. As Clint Eastwood said, “A man’s got to know his limitations.”
The forget about them and walk on....
[...] If you were lucky enough to be born with an instrument and the instictive knowledge to know what to do with it, you are blessed indeed.”
- Bruce Springsteen, “Born To Run” (2016) (pages 393-395)
HI IF YOU PLAY SPLATOON 3 AND YOUR NAME IS airyhfjone AND YOU WERE PLAYING TURF WARS A WHILE AGO THIS IS enby nebi I GOT REALLY EXCITED TO SEE AN OBJECT SHOW FAN. SORRY FOR KILLING YOU A BUNCH
Finally posts wretched ass old man cos I needed more characters that were morally reprehensible. This is Rhanyr Hamzad, the Overseer. He’s a teal-cerulean cusp but legally recognized as a ceruleanblood because of his eye mutation and psionics. Basically he can possess people, jumping from one host to the other and execute plans into motion. He has access to the host’s memories and everything they know, and is used to infiltrate enemy lines and sabotage the opposing force’s plans.
This is a terribly vindtictive man who’s behind the plotting of the bomb that wiped out Raizol and his entire squadron over 20 sweeps ago. He’s obsessed with power and the notoriety of the Hamzad name.
He’s technically open and available for questions, I just don’t have sprites for him. Soon enough I’ll formally introduce his daughter, Sohlao.
Disney’s Soarin’ Over California is a flying theater attraction that takes guests on a simulated hang-gliding tour of California. The near-five minute film highlights the diverse landscape and sights while filling the air with a variety of scents that complement the different scenes.
The ride flys guests over the USS John C. Stennis as it departs Naval Air Station North Island in San Diego. During filming, the aircraft carrier happened to be making a quick-turnaround and had not had time to offload all of the aircraft when it came into port. Aboard the flight deck of the USS Stennis sits several F-14 Tomcats.
Merry Christ-matsu (or whatever you celebrate) - my present to all of you is these scans of the box, case and 14-page booklet for the limited edition Hipipo DVD! it's not the most substantial read but still an interesting one, featuring model sheet drawings of the Matsus and side characters' new outfits, the Hipipo Tribe and the new locations from the movie, as well as storyboards for one scene.
of course, it has spoilers (on pages 2, 6 and 14 to be exact), so I don't recommend opening it before watching the movie (if you haven't done so yet, here ya go!)
enjoy and feel free to translate the text, use the images to make graphics, or whatever you fancy ✨🎁✨
I haven't had any motivation to work on Interlude since I wrapped up chapter 4 and wrote the outline for whatever's going to come next but today it was really hot, humid, and then it thunderstormed and then Whitechapel released a music video for my favorite track off their latest album and I was finally inspired again
