The climax of “Sing 2″ is a bunch of plucky, singing animals teaming up with a recently retired crime boss (who just got out of jail a while ago), to take over a hotel that belongs to a different crime boss (who just tried to have them all whacked earlier that day), so they can push ahead with their Vegas show and prove all of their haters wrong about them.
Everything about that is shady as hell, and I enjoyed every minute of it.

Pitch: Sing the Series
A collection of 8-10 minutes episodes following known side characters from both Sing movies (Think Zootopia+)
Ideas:
Nana Noodleman in her youth, preparing for a usual performance before a wrench is thrown in the works.
Alfonso and Meena going on their first actual date.
Suki beginning work at Crystal Entertainment and having to deal with Jimmys demands and Jerry's competitiveness.
Suki's short, but from the POV of Jerry, who views Suki as a possible rival vying for Jimmys attention. The short is edited differently to fit Jerrys very exaggerated view of the situation.
A robbery pulled by Big Daddys gang, directed in black and white like an old heist movie.
[Self indulgent, but Ryan and Johnny working together and occasionally flirting, culminating in a kiss]
Lastly, a short of Busters father, detailing his life and him earning enough money to afford Busters dream theater. The short is narrated by Buster as an almost eulogy to his father.

WHY ILLUMINATION SHOULD Turn The Sing movies into a series (episodes) or a graphic novel series
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Sorry if it's to long I just need to write what I think)
I love the sing movies as much as the next person, its probably one of illuminations best franchises. As much as I lobe the movies and the main characters, I wish they would explain their backstories before meeting buster, And with the third one in development, I'm hoping they do just that. But what if they don't. Well that's what I keep asking myself, how they could show the audience the characters stories or their lives, after and before. Well I've come up with an idea on that. I have 2 possibilities a series (episodes) or a graphic novel series.
Here let me explain what they could do and why.
A series (episodes):
If the writers don't have time to make movies for sing, they can(could) make a series to show what the characters are doing and their development or introduce new characters in the story. And also talk about their life and things that have happened during the movies. It could also have side stories or parts 1 or 2 episodes to see what each character and storyline is doing, and also help character traits be developed in a character, see what their relationship with each other is like, and even help bring in new songs to the show and have each character show their skills. And most importantly answer questions each movie leaves about, and explain things that happened before.
Graphic novels:
We can learn about the characters and their backstories and new characters that might not be mentioned in the movies (or series) And they can address serious topics like death of a loved one more seriously and it can mainly focus on one character and their past and how it happened. And most importantly it would save illumination a lot of time and keep people from asking or waiting for something to happen. And if the characters have a dark backstory, and the people at home don't have to complain that anything risky is put it on theaters or TV and get complaints about it on what their viewers are watching. And ok it's not like animation studios haven't done anything like that. I mean look at Disney & pixar, they've done things parents might not agree with, or things that might scare kids, or done things that people should discuss or things that shouldn't be hard to tell kids and DreamWorks has been doing those things for years it wouldn't surprise me if Illumination did that to. Not that I have a problem with it, I'm glad that animation movie studios are having characters be or talk about things that make them feel real, like family drama, discrimination, Sexuality, mental health, depression, trauma, etc. And like most animation Companies who have not recently but not too long ago have Done these things to give "life" and personality to the characters, but because of the backlash and criticism that that many entertainment studios have gotten, (like Disney and pixar) studios have taken less risks and been struggling with either doing what critic's want and certain audiences want, or doing risks and doing what another certain audience wants or the other way, and if Illumination is worried about taking a risk of any of those things I mentioned, and are afraid that a franchise will be be ruined or canceled because of it, they should make a graphic novel series to explain things or to continue it. There are so many things I would like to say about entertainment studios and criticism and backlash they could get, or the unfair criticism their movies can get, but I'll save that for another post.
Anyway That's my opinion, but what's yours? Answer in the poll and if you have your reasons or opinions comment on what you think, If you don't let my opinion that's okay.
And when the votes have been done, I'll explain more about it.

Ash’s mother
I have an idea that’s not set in stone to possibly bring Ash’s mother into the Steff Pearce Series, maybe in a Mothers Day fic, and have her apologise and want to mend her strained relationship with her daughter.
And I’m so conflicted on it.
On one hand, between Buster, Rosita, Cassie, Andrea and (later) Clay, Ash seems to have more than enough parental figures in her life who love and care for her. Hell, when I drafted Ash’s backstory of her parents being divorced, her dropping out of high school and becoming emancipated from her mother, I never even thought of names for them. Plus I like the message of “you’re well within your right to cut ties with someone who’s hurt you and are not obligated to forgive them”, kinda tying into the found family theme of the movies.
On the other hand, I like the idea of Ash not hating her mother but still feeling conflicted about her reaching out to her daughter after two years, maybe even asking Johnny for advice on whether or not she should let her back into her life, seeing how he and his own dad gradually mended their relationship. And Ash’s mother could have a similar arc to Alador Blight from The Owl House with her feeling regret for how she treated her daughter’s dream of becoming a rocker, genuinely liking her song Set It All Free after seeing her on TV and resolving to make an effort to show she can be better, with Ash not instantly forgiving her but appreciating that she’s willing to try, their bond slowly rekindling over the long gap in-between movies.
God, I hate being indecisive.
EDIT: Figured it out!

Ideas for the Coffee Shop AU
Hey, everyone! Later this month and throughout December, I'll be releasing the first chapters of my newest story idea! But for now, here's the layout for this lovely (if I do say so myself) new idea. I hope you all enjoy reading as much as I'm enjoying writing it.
The Full Moon Brew Coffee Shop is more than just a place to get a cup of coffee. It’s a haven that offers a break from the day-to-day chaos in the city of Calatonia, presided over by one Koala Connoisseur, Buster Moon, a coffee enthusiast as well as a master showman. The Full Moon Brew is a nook of coziness and even creativity. With the air teeming with coffee and creative encouragement, it’s no wonder the place hosts such an eclectic bunch.
Up and coming rocker Ash goes there at least twice a week to get her caffeine fix, but also likes the atmosphere because it helps inspire her songwriting.
Sweet-obsessed and sass-filled Nooshy likes to busk down the road (before meeting the rest of the gang) for extra pocket money to afford her cream and sugar-loaded coffees. And it combines the two things she loves: dancing and coffee. She also enters the occasional contest held at the shop.
Then there’s introverted British newcomer Johnny who spends anywhere from half an hour to sometimes even half the day, at the place, ordering at least three cups of coffee, all while reading or writing songs as well. It’s like a haven in the new city he's moved with his family to following his dad and uncle’s being transferred for a job. Occasionally, on their lunch break, the three older gorillas stop in to get a little bite of the pastries the place offers and of course an espresso-loaded cup or two. Each. They don’t ever stick around long, but they can see why the youngest member of their clan loves the place so much.
Then, we have the equally shy Meena, whose small family business supplies the baked goods to the coffee shop, and Meena occasionally visits both to subtly network for her family’s business, and to try to become more social, since coffee shops are great for being both social and withdrawn. And she loves their smoothies, and is trying to acquire a taste for coffee, but can’t quite do it.
Enter Rosita, the on-the-go mother that does it all, but always makes some time to get a little pick-me-up for herself and do a bit of work to help her husband, for whom she always orders a special cappuccino before she heads to pick up their extensive brood of piglets.
The tea-loving theater legend Nana Noodleman happens to be one of the top investors for Buster’s shop. The place is small but makes a pretty profit, what with having fresh, homemade treats, along with beverages one can’t get just anywhere. And Buster always makes sure to keep a steady supply of fine teas at the ready for Nana. She even has a special table with a high-backed purple velvet chair by the window just beside the patio overlooking the ocean.
The excitable bundle of Piggy Power Gunter occasionally visits the shop, drawn by the musical selection and the open mic nights. Though by his own admission, he comes less for the singing and more for the dancing. And of course, a caffeine fix here and there is needed for such dedicated dancing.
Another new kid enters. Meet Ryan Collins, a student in a nearby dance academy, who happens upon the coffee shop by complete coincidence. He finds that while he doesn’t much care for coffee, he enjoys the chill atmosphere, a welcome reprieve after his hectic classes under the iron fist of Klaus Kickenklober. Plus, who doesn’t occasionally love a Toasted Vanilla or Hazelnut Steamer?
Two new faces also enter this colorful Coffee shop mix, we have the two rich kids Eddie and Porsha, both of whom are working their first jobs ever under the watchful eye of Miss Crawly. Don’t let her age and dottiness fool you, the old Lizard Lady is a brewing MASTER.
Both prove straight away to be a bit…unskilled to say the least, but they slowly start to adapt, with Porsha even scoring huge brownie points when she creates a new drink for the menu.
And finally, the dutiful, efficient, and long-suffering Suki Lane occasionally stops by the shop to get coffee for herself, but also (reluctantly) for her image-obsessed boss who doesn’t like coffee but is quick to associate himself when the little shop starts to gain more attention.
Suki herself may not particularly like Buster, but she does like the coffee. And she does secretly loathe Crystal's dismissal of it. And dismiss it he does. At least until it starts to gain more popularity, at which point he tries to buy it out. But that meeting goes as well as you'd expect.
This version of Buster has a few slightly different traits; poised, knows his worth, and won't sell himself out for a few beans. He knows why Crystal wants the business and is having none of it. First off, because he knows the price Crystal offered is insulting given the profit the place brings in. Second, and more importantly, because his father bought the property, had the building built with his own money, and personally let Buster design the place, the menu, everything. This place is a symbol of everything his dad worked for and gave him. All the while the man was hiding a terminal illness. This last project was a distraction from the inevitable. And Buster will NOT trivialize that sacrifice.

Ffs Sing has so many characters, they need to tone it back a bit. I juuuust about squeezed everyone on. But it looks messy and hard to read, so I can’t show my reasoning behind my answers, but I’ve been using the same method as last time. I had to do this one by one and jot the measurements down because doing it all at the end is clearly impossible.
It’s hard to tell exactly where Clay’s head ends and his mane begins. So his browline comes in at 5′5″ and his mane is 6′1″. So Clay is between 5 feet 5 inches and 6 feet 1 inch.
Suki is 6 feet 1 inch. Illumination really were over the top with her; she’s not only taller than a lot of humans but on par with a lion and a wolf. A lot about Suki’s design breaks Illumination’s design “rules” and it’s clear they wanted her to have a very specific look. But I love it because it means their rules can be broken. Suki also wears high heels so I made sure to not include those in her height.
Jimmy Crystal is 6 feet 2 inches.
Porsha is 6 feet exactly. Turns out I was wrong about her being nearly Meena’s height. Still a bit OTT for a wolf though.
Ryan is technically right on the 5′10.9″ line, so I’ll round him up to 5 feet 11 inches. He’s a little bit taller than Johnny.
Alfonso is hard to tell because of his hat. His brow comes up to 7′11″ and the top of his hat is 8′5″. But we don’t know if it’s like a cap with a lot of space between the heat and head, or if it sits on his head snuggly. I think it’s safe to say he’s taller than Meena though, so I’d lean more towards 8 feet 5 inches.
Darius shocked me the most! Again, it’s hard to tell with him. The base of his horns reaches 6′5″, and his hairline (which is usually where the scalp sits...) is 6′10″. I didn’t realise he was so tall, but I guess he couldn’t be terribly shorter than Meena. So he’s between 6 feet 5 inches and 6 feet 10 inches.
Klaus my beloved is a lot shorter than I once thought! Before all this, I assumed he was like 6′. Turns out I was right the second time, and he’s 5 feet 3 inches. I usually gave a “canon” height of 5′4″ to Cadence but I did always say she was Nooshy’s height (and I assumed Noosh was 5′4″), so she’ll now be whatever Nooshy actually is.
Jerry is 2 feet 8 inches.
I didn’t have space to do all the gorillas, so I just did Stan because he was right next to Marcus in the screenshot and it was easy. I think they’re all about the same though, aside from Marcus. All the gorillas have a height for their brow and a height for their hair, like Johnny. Stan is between 5 feet 4 inches and 6 feet 1 inch.
Marcus/Big Daddy is a bit taller, between 5 feet 6 inches and 6 feet 2 inches.
Nooshy is 3 feet 10 inches.
