Random Ravenclaw: I wonder how Lupin-Black survives dating a chaotic mess like Weasley.
Random Hufflepuff: Right? He's good looking and all but I don't think I could survive the constant pranking and detentions.
~meanwhile with Y/n & Fred~
Y/n: Can I-
Fred: No love, you will not eat the levitation candy.
Y/n, pouts: But I wanna fly like Peter pan.
Fred: And I don't want you to end up on the Great Hall ceiling and never get back down. They're just prototypes, they're still in the works.
Y/n: But-
Fred: No buts, sorry love.

summary: you meet sirius, play chess with sirius, and have an abba singing and dance party with sirius (sirius meeting his daughter post azkaban - requested by anon)
a/n: im so obsessed with this idk i wish sirius was my dad, also sorry this has been in my inbox for so long
song: waterloo - abba
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Being Sirius Black's daughter was quite tiring. But also thrilling. Especially since it was your third year when he escaped Azkaban.
Your best friends are Harry, Hermione, and Ron. You couldn't have asked for better ones.
With the rumors of Sirius coming after you and Harry, people had been cold towards you because of your father, not that you could control who your father was.
Right now you were outside, taking a walk in some fresh air. Suddenly a dog comes up to you and barks once. "Why, hello there," you coo and bend down. The dog happily wags his tail and jumps onto her. "Aww, you're so cute!"
You pet the dog, who leans into your hand. "You are very skinny," you frowned. "Follow me, I'm sure Hagrid has some food I can give you."
As you two head down, you get near the Whomping Willow. As you pass by, the dog suddenly spins and before you could blink the dog was biting your pants, tugging you to the tree.
"Um, excuse me, Mr. Dog, but these are new pants." You then get very close to the tree, "Er- I don't think this is a good idea," you say nervously as the branches of the tree start to move.
The dog looks up in alert and quickly tugs you into some type of hole that they slid down into. "Ah!" The dog jumps up and pulls on your pants again. "Where are we going?"
Finally, you come into an empty abandoned room. "What is this place..."
You walk over and pick up a dusted book, blowing on the cover before putting it back down. You turn around and her eyes go wider than they've ever been. "AHH!" you scream.
"AHH!"
"AHH!"
"SHH!"
You cover your mouth and stare at the one and only Sirius Black.
Your father.
"What the fuck," you whisper to yourself. "Oh my Merlin, I'm too young to die! I- I haven't gotten to slap Malfoy yet, I haven't been able to prank Snape! I ha-"
"Prank Snape?" Sirius pipes up.
"I'm going to die. Oh, Godric," you pace while frantically whispering to yourself. "I'm in the same room with Sirius Black, alone."
He frowns at being called by his name instead of Dad, which it should be.
"Relax, love, I'm not going to kill you."
You spin and face the man, "You're not?"
"No."
"Then why am I here? For giggles and a tea party?"
"One, you're about to find out. Two, I don't like tea," Sirius makes a face.
"Huh, me neither. Now, go on, tell me why I'm in an abandoned room with an escaped convicted murderer," you cross your arms.
"I'm not a murderer. I'm innocent, I swear."
You narrow her eyes, "How so?"
"Well, it started when I first got to Hogwarts..."
Tumblr media
You wipe the tears from under your eyes, "That is the saddest thing I have ever heard."
Sirius waves his hand, "Now that you know what happened, you believe me right?"
"Of course!" You throw her arms around the man, who relaxes into his daughters hold. It's been a long time since he has had human contact.
"Unfortunately, I'm afraid you can't tell anyone about me just yet."
"Why?! If I tell them you're inno-"
He smiles sadly, "I'm not so sure they would believe you."
"But-" Sirius shakes his head. You sigh, "Well, are you going to be staying here?"
He nods, "I guess. It's a bit dirty though, if you ask me."
"I can fix that," you grin. He raises his eyebrows in curiosity. You takes out your wand and flick it. The room starts moving and the dust all collects together before flying out the window. The furniture vanishes and new ones appear. Pictures form on the wall and the room cleans up into a brand new, clean room.
"Wow, impressive. Thank you," Sirius says. You nod and flick your wrist again. In the blink of an eye, Sirius is freshly cleaned and looks well taken care of. His eyes almost water at your kindness. "I truly can't thank you enough."
"That's better, isn't it?" You smile proudly at your work. "Oh! You need food," you think for a moment, "I'll just bring you down daily meals."
"I can't ask you to do that, it's too much."
"It's a good thing you don't have to ask. You mentioned your friend... Remus Lupin." Sirius nods and gestures for you to continue, "He's a Professor this year... anyway, is he a..."
"A...?"
"Werewolf," you say hesitantly.
Sirius' face goes a bit pale, "What makes you think that?"
"His boggart was a moon, and he has lots of light scars."
"Would it change your opinions about him?"
"Not at all! If anything I think it makes him even better." Sirius nods his head. "Yes... he's a werewolf?"
He nods again, "You're a bright witch."
"Thank you," you beam. You looks at your watch, "I have about twenty minutes before my friends start looking for me. In the meantime.... Wizard's Chess?"
Tumblr media
"Yes! Checkmate!" You jump up from your seat in excitement. "I won!"
"That's not fair! You only won because I'm rusty," Sirius crosses his arms and sinks into the couch.
"Sure, sure. Rematch tomorrow?" you ask.
"Rematch tomorrow," you two shake hands and you go to the exit.
"I'll bring you some food in a little while."
"Bye, darling," he waves, watching you leave.
Tumblr media
A few weeks later, you were on your daily trip to see Sirius. You snuck in through the Whomping Willow, you also learned how to avoid the branches.
"Hello?!" you shout.
"Over here!"
You follow his voice and see him digging through a closet. "What are you looking for?"
"I- that's... a good question." He stands up and clears his throat, "To what do I owe the pleasure?"
"It has come to my attention that you recently made an appearance in the castle."
"Mhm."
"And you didn't inform me about it beforehand," you gives him a blank stare.
"I wanted to, but it took a while to plan and I wanted it to be a surprise," he grins with jazz hands.
"You do realize that I could have helped you in, right?"
"Yeah, but I didn't want to risk you getting in trouble," he frowns.
"I appreciate your concern," you salute him and he does it back with a chuckle.
"What's in the bag?" He nods to the one hanging on your arm.
"This, my furry father-"
"That was a horrible joke."
"-Is a record player!" You excitedly pull it out of the bag and place it on a table.
"A what?"
"A record player. It plays music. Want to see?!"
"As if I would say no to music."
You reach into the bag and take out some vinyl records. "I picked ones that I think you would enjoy best. There is a supergroup that I thought you would really like. They're called ABBA. They're one of my favorites."
You set up the record player and place one of the vinyls in. You grin at the man as you hit the play button.
Tumblr media
"YOU CAN DANCE, YOU CAN JIVE! HAVING THE TIME OF YOUR LIFE! SEE THAT GIRL, WATCH THAT SCENE! DIGGING THE DANCING QUEEN!"
You and Sirius continue to shout the lyrics into your fake microphones as you hop around the room with the song blasting. When the room was first set up by you, you placed several privacy and silencing spells, so you two didn't have to worry about anyone hearing anything.
"YOU ARE THE DANCING QUEEN! YOUNG AND SWEET, ONLY SEVENTEEN-"
Tumblr media
"GIMME, GIMME, GIMME A MAN AFTER MIDNIGHT! WON'T SOMEBODY HELP ME CHASE THE SHADOWS AWAY?" you sing while bouncing on the couch.
"GIMME, GIMME, GIMME A MAN AFTER MIDNIGHT! TAKE ME THROUGH THE DARKNESS TO THE BREAK OF THE DAY!" Sirius continues as he walks and dances as if he were on a stage.
Tumblr media
"MAMMA MIA, HERE I GO AGAIN! MY, MY, HOW CAN I RESIST YOU?"
"MAMMA MIA, DOES IT SHOW AGAIN! MY, MY, JUST HOW MUCH I'VE MISSED YOU?"
Sirius and you hold hands as you jump together and flip your hair with matching goofy grins.
"YES, I'VE BEEN BROKENHEARTED! BLUE SINCE THE DAY WE PARTED!"
"WHY, WHY DID I EVER LET YOU GO?"
Tumblr media
"BUT NOW IT ISN'T TRUE! NOW EVERYTHING IS NEW!" you grab your wand to create two pairs of light up sunglasses, you toss one to Sirius and you both put them on.
"AND ALL I'VE LEARNED HAS OVERTURNED! I BEG OF YOUUU!" Sirius sings.
"DON'T GO WASTING YOUR EMOTION! LAY ALL YOUR LOVE ON MEEEE!" you shout together.
With a flick of your wrist, you - much to Sirius' surprise - somehow managed to have a disco ball with neon lights come from the ceiling.
Tumblr media
Harry, Ron, and Hermione sit in the Gryffindor common room.
"I wonder what she's doing right now," Harry looks thoughtfully.
"She's been leaving a lot recently," comments Hermione, biting nervously on her nail.
"I hope she's okay," says Ron, "Sirius Black could be out there."
Tumblr media
"LAST NIGHT I WAS TAKING A WALK ALONG THE RIVER, AND I SAW HIM TOGETHER WITH A YOUNG GIRL!"
"AND THE LOOK THAT HE GAVE HER MADE ME SHIVER! 'CAUSE HE ALWAYS USE TO LOOK AT ME THAT WAY!" Sirius grabs your hand and twirls you, causing you to laugh.
"AND I THOUGHT, MAYBE I SHOULD WALK RIGHT UP TO HER AND SAY 'AH-HA-HA, IT'S A GAME HE LIKES TO PLAYYY!" you and Sirius shimmy dance to each other.
You jump and freeze before breaking out in another dance and sing the chorus. "LOOK INTO HIS ANGELEYES, ONE LOOK AND YOU'RE HYPNOTISED! HE'LL TAKE YOUR HEART AND YOU MUST PAY THE PRICE!"
Tumblr media
"SLIPPING THROUGH MY FINGERS ALL THE TIME!"
"I TRY TO CAPTURE EVERY MINUTE!"
"THE FEELING IN IT, SLIPPING THROUGH MY FINGERS ALL THE TIME!"
"DO I REALLY SEE WHAT'S IN HER MIND, EACH TIME I'M CLOSE TO KNOWING, SHE KEEPS ON GROWING!"
"SLIPPING THROUGH MY FINGERS ALL THE TIME!"
"SOMETIMES I WISH THAT I COULD FREEZE THE PICTURE!"
"AND SAVE IT FROM THE FUNNY TRICKS OF TIME!"
Sirius and you wrap an arm around each other's waist as they sway to the music.
"SLIPPING THROUGH MY FINGERSSSSS!"
Sirius then starts pretending like he's playing the guitar to the music making your giggle.
Tumblr media
You and Sirius fall back, panting, onto the couch. Sirius turns to you and gives you a high five.
"Oh my Merlin! That was the most fun I had in forever!"
"Me too, kid. Thank you. I don't know the last time I felt like that."
"You're welcome," you bumps his shoulder. "Oh! And you can keep everything, I have my own."
"Really?"
"Mhm, I'll bring you more vinyls I have. We can have more singing and dancing parties like this."
"I'm looking forward to it." He looks at a watch you got him, "I think it may be time for you to head back."
You look in a mirror on the wall, "My hair is messy from flipping it."
"I can help you with it, if you want," he smiles at you.
"Really?" He nods. "Thanks!"
Sirius gets up and grabs a brush, you turn on the couch so he is behind you as he brushes through your hair. "I'm going to try to do that braid you taught me."
"Here's a hair tie," you take one off your wrist.
He struggles at first but manages to do a good, tight braid. "Done!" Sirius claps his hands.
You look in the mirror, "Wow, you have a good teacher."
He shrugs, "Meh, she's alright." You slap the back of his head, "Okay, okay! Not the hair! Okay, I have the best teacher."
You nod happily and grab your bag, "Bye, Dad."
"See you soon, y/n," he winks.

Presents
Warnings: none (I think), let me know if I missed any :)
Pairings: James Potter x daughter reader, Lily Potter x daughter reader, Harry Potter x sister reader, Sirius Black- Lupin x reader platonic, Remus Lupin- Black x reader platonic
*not my gif*
Summary: Your godfathers come over to celebrate Christmas
A/N: Welcome to the bonus day of Book Places 12 Days of Christmas Celebration
Please don’t plagiarize my work, you may reblog if you like but I’m asking that you don’t steal my hard work
Tumblr media
“Happy Christmas!” Sirius cheered, practically kicking the door in as he stumbled into the living room with presents piled up in his arms.
“Happy Christmas!” You and Harry echoed back in sync, both jumping up to help your godfather put the gifts under the tree.
Once that was done, Remus came up from behind and gave you both a large hug, causing laughter to bubble up in your chests.
“Moony! Pads!” James squealed excitedly, rushing into the room like a little kid and tackling the black haired man in a hug.
Lily walked calmly into the room after him, shaking her head slightly as a small smile of amusement played at her lips, “We just saw them a week ago, James”. She teased her husband.
Your father dramatically wiped an imaginary tear away from his face at her words, “It was an eternity, my Lily Flower.”
You and your twin brother chuckled at their antics before Sirius bent down to your heights with a wide grin, “And how are my two favorite nine year old Potter twins doing?”
Both of you burst into a fit of giggles at his words, holding onto your stomachs as you doubled over.
“We’re the only nine year old Potter twins, Uncle Pads!” Harry managed to wheeze out in between spurts of laughter.
He frowned in mock confusion, “Is that so?”
When you both vigorously nodded your heads up and down, he stood up straight and ruffled the tops of your hair with a chuckle.
“It was so nice for the two of you to come,” Lily beamed, pulling Remus in for a gentle embrace.
“Thanks for having us,” The man replied before throwing a playful glance over his shoulder to his husband, “Though, I do suppose Sirius would have cried if we hadn’t come.”
“It’s true.” Said man sniffed loudly in return.
“Come on, now!” James whined like a child, “I want to open presents!”
“Presents!” You and Harry squealed, pushing each other out of the way as you tried to scramble over to where the tree sat in the center of the room.
The adults chuckled at your antics and trailed behind you, chatting happily amongst themselves as you and your brother bounced up and down in front of the tree impatiently.
“Hurry up!” Harry complained, throwing his head back with a groan.
“Now…” James said slowly, teasing the both of you, “Should us grown ups go first?”
“No!” You both shouted in horror, eyes going wide as saucers.
“Okay, okay,” Sirius laughed, bending down and picking up two wrapped gifts before handing one to each of you, “Happy Christmas, guys.”
You both couldn’t even respond as you eagerly teared off the paper.
Harry held a ‘Day at the Races’ record album by Queen and you held the album, ‘A Night at the Opera’ by them.
Your uncle held a finger in between the two of you sternly, “Some of the best music you’ll ever listen to.” He promised.
“What do you say?” Lily scolded lightly as the two of you got too caught up looking at the list of songs written on the back.
“Thank you, Uncle Pads!” You both cheered, leaping forward and throwing your arms around his neck.
He caught you both with ease and spun you around, emitting a gleeful laugh from your lips.
“My turn?” James begged, turning to your mother with pleading eyes.
“Let your kids have some fun,” She chuckled at his words, playfully swatting his shoulder.
“Here you go,” Remus laughed lightly, handing you his gift.
You gasped as you opened the bag and saw about thirty different pieces of ten different types of chocolate.
“Thank you, Uncle Moony!” You both chirped with wide grins.
“Well, you know what I always say-“ He sunk back into the cushions of the couch.
“Chocolate is good for you!” Both of you chorused back one of Remus’s most memorable sayings.
Everyone around the room laughed and James turned expectantly to his wife once more, “Can I please open presents now?”

Sirius and Remus reacting to their daughter!reader coming out to them as lesbian/bisexual/pansexual
No warnings !! | ୨ 714 ᴡᴏʀᴅꜱ ୧
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Daughter!reader would go to the mall's library to get a book she's been eyeing for a while. Upon finding it, she walked towards the cash register not really paying attention to her surroundings. She placed the book gently in front of the worker, not yet looking up. She would then hear a deep but soothing girl voice, finally looking up at the worker. Upon seeing her appearance, daughter!reader would feel her cheeks heat up slightly. A tall girl with silky black hair and light blue eyes would stare down at daughter!reader, a slight smirk on her face (no matter your height, the girl is taller than you). Daughter!reader would have a lesbian/bisexual/pansexual panic, stuttering like a lovestruck high school girl while paying. She almost didn't hear her phone ringing, Sirius calling to say Remus and himself are waiting for her in the parkin lot of the mall. Daughter!reader would clumsily take her book and receipt, almost forgetting to thank the tall girl and then giving her a shy smile. She then would hurry out of the mall, a blushing mess.
Daughter!reader would be silent in the backseat at the beginning of the car ride, Remus and Sirius holding hands on the arm rest as Remus drives. Daughter!reader would still be blushing slightly, only able to look down at the book she bought. Remus would try to strike a conversation— opting to talk about which book his daughter bought, himself being a bookworm.
"Which book did you buy sweetie-" Remus asked, enable to finish his sentence before daughter!reader cut him off, "I think I'm lesbian/bisexual/pansexual." She would blur that out out of pure impulse and stress, her encounter with the beautiful girl, messing with her mind slightly (in a good way of course). Sirius, previously sipping on his coffee, would almost choke. That would worry daughter!reader slightly, not thinking rationally and starting to believe "Imagine they reject me". Girly would stress beyond relief, forgetting that Remus is gay and Sirius is bisexual— her own fathers.
Her train of thoughts would be stopped as she would hear heavy laughing from her fathers. Sirius would cough lightly, since he almost choked on his coffee, while giggling. Sirius would turn his body towards the backseat to look at his daughter, "Oh? Well papa and I are really proud of you for coming out honey, but we've known forever!" Daughter!reader would look at her dad, dumbfounded, "W-Wait what?!" She would stutter out in shock. Remus would look at her through the rear mirror, smiling, "Mhm, we've known ever since you we're in primary school sweetie!" Daughter!reader would be flabbergasted in the backseat, only able to mutter out a shock 'How?'. Sirius would nod in agreement at Remus' previous words, "You we're 7 honey and you had a crush on everyone, no matter the gender. You even kissed a girl in second grade!" Remus would laugh, "I remember that! You kept giggling happily while telling us."
The poor girl would blink multiple time, looking at Sirius, "W-Well.. I-Is it alright..?" Sirius would be laughing his ass off, Remus nudging him to stop, a giggle of his own coming out. It was a red light so Remus could finally turn his head slightly towards the backseat to look at daughter!reader, "Of course It's alright sweetpea! We don't care as long as you're happy!" Sirius nudged Remus with his elbow, a grin on his face, "She was bound to join us at some point~ We're a whole LGBTQ family!"
Daughter!reader would finally relax, her rational thoughts coming back into memories, remembering how her dads are gay so of course they would accept her! She would kinda feel dumb but brush it off at the same time. She joined in with the giggling of her parents, "So why did you guys never tell me?" Daughter!reader asked curiously, tracing the cover of her book with her finger while looking up from time to time at the front seats. Remus would start driving again, the red light turning green, "Because we let you find out on your own sweetpea"
Daughter!reader would smile softly, feeling relieved and happy. The calm moment would be short lived though as Sirius, stretching into his passenger seat, "So who's the lucky person?" A grin was proudly plastered on his face.
Tumblr media
ᴀɴɢᴇʟ : This was so much fun to write! I meant do a part two where they playfully nudge daughter!reader to ask the tall girl for her number!

Somewhere Only We Know
Cedric Diggory x Slytherin! Reader | Sirius Black x Daughter! Reader Summary: You and Cedric have been Best Friends from enemy houses since second year, when you accidentally met him in the restroom (Or lavatory for you brits out there😉). Now it's your sixth year at Hogwarts. The Triwizard tournament is here and your friend is excited to enter. Requested by @linetaylorsversion: “Hello! You could make an imagine where Y/N is Sirius Black's daughter and had an almost romance with Cedric, they liked each other but never had the courage to say they were in love, and then Cedric ended up dying in the tournament and she felt guilty for never having said she loved him. Sirius managed to prove his innocence so he was at school to watch the final of the tournament and saw everything. After this traumatic event she began to terrible nightmares, being more attached to her father, protecting her friends (especially Hermione on account of the Death Eaters) and she saves Sirius from Bellatrix and ends up being hit by a Cruciatus (but she stays well after) and the rest you can do with your imagination. Thank you!” A/N: I struggled hard to write this request as an imagine. A lot of rough drafts went into this. And then my laptop broke and all I had was my phone, which was… a struggle 😑😫. But maybe the mini series was its calling, because it’s going.

“You want to hold her?” “Can I?” Y/N laughed and motioned for him to come closer, “Of course you can… You’re her father afterall.” Sirius held the small baby wrapped in a soft blanket. Tears pricked in the back of his eyes as he stared at his little girl. “She’s beautiful.” His voice was so quiet he barely heard it himself.
Sirius had to snap himself out of his little flashback as he stared at his now grown daughter. Her mother’s eyes and her father’s hair. His hair. Tears pricked the back of his eyes as he thought of how much he’s missed. And now here she stood, all grown up and graduated. He was quick to wrap his arms around his daughter as she rushed forward to hug him.
“You’re home.”
Sirius let out a chuckle, “I’m home.”

Lifeless Eyes pt.3
Pairing - Wolfstar x daughter!OC, Fred Weasley x OC!
Summary - Nova Lupin-Black comes home for the Easter holidays and her parents are in for a shock.
Warnings - breakdown, depression and cursing.
Here is the final part of the small series, my first ever as well! Hope you all enjoyed reading it as much as I loved writing this <33
Link for pt.1 here
Link for pt.2 here
And before she knew it, a pair of arms were wrapped carefully around her vulnerable frame.
Sirius held her close, pulling his daughter close against him as much as possible, wanting to hide her away safely from all of her demons.
"Shhh," he murmured and pressed his lips to the top of her head.
"Da," she sobbed, her hands tightening as she gripped his shirt. "I c- can't- 's too much- I can't do- I'm sorry-"
"Hush love," Remus whispered from her side and rubbed her back. "Let it out".
"Pa," she stuttered and lifted up her head to look at him and Remus had never felt his heart being broken like this before.
A huge amount of pain had struck his chest as he looked at her destroyed state. He himself was shaking and he could also feel his eyes starting to water.
Her eyes on the other hand were crimson red, puffy and all wet with the tears that continued flowing down. She was shattered, as though she really had enough of everything.
Remus swallowed down his own lump and cupped her face, "I'm here. I'm not going anywhere, okay? I'm right here," he said desperately and she fell right into his arms.
"I'm right here," he repeated and shut his eyes tightly, a lone tear slipping down at last as he hugged her.
Nova Lupin-Black cried.
She cried and cried and cried.
She cried till there were no more tears left to fall, she cried till her throat was sore, she cried till her eyes were a deep red and her face a mess, she cried till every broken piece inside of her was free of all the emotions that were kept bottled inside for too long.
Her body stopped trembling after a few minutes and she lifted her head from its place on Remus' shoulder.
She let a deep breath escape her lips as she wiped her face, feeling her heart lighten at the breakdown.
"Sit down," Sirius instructed softly and directed her towards the bed while also handing her a glass of water.
"Feeling better now?" Remus asked.
"Loads," she answered and sniffed. "My shoulders seemed to have lost half the weight".
The two just smiled at her, their faces the embodiment of gentleness and comfort. They glanced at each other and both had the same thoughts.
They sat in silence after that, both men in no way intending to pressure or rush her.
"Can- can I tell you everything?" Nova broke the quiet hesitatingly.
"Course you can, love," Sirius grinned, extremely glad at her decision.
"Take it at your own pace," Remus suggested. "Go slow if it gets too hard".
She nodded gratefully but was then stumped, "From where do I even start?" She laughed nervously.
"Anyhow you like it," they said in unison.
"Alright," she said and bit her lip before beginning. "Well I've been like this for the past 3-4 months at least. And I didn't know what was happening. One day everything just suddenly went dull, black and ugly. I was no longer happy, or enthusiastic or passionate about anything anymore. It took a lot of effort to even smile, you know? It was like my face was a statue, like my very heart had gone numb".
"Dolores Umbridge," she muttered suddenly and both of their eyes narrowed at the rather familiar name. "She's the main reason, Dad," she mumbled, addressing them both.
"That woman is horrible, vile, cruel, evil, monstrous and every other synonym there is left. She tortured everyone, Da!" She exclaimed with slight emotion.
Sirius didn't say anything but Remus noticed the way his jaw had tightened considerably.
"She- She still has us read all those useless textbooks that have nothing apart from ridiculously long theories and boring passages. We still don't do any practicals because she's afraid we're gonna start our own army or something. And she's turning a blind to Voldemort as well! Talking about Cedric that way-" her voice broke as she took a minute to collect herself.
Cedric Diggory. Her best friend, the type of brother she never had. The loving, handsome, funny, brave and pure Hufflepuff.
Her Ced, whose memory was tainted everyday by the woman's false statements.
Now the only thing Nova felt was anger, and both of her parents sensed it quickly.
"I tried Pa," she said honestly and looked at him, her grey eyes meeting his honey ones. "I really tried to be as quiet as possible and not let her taunts get to me. And I was good, seriously I was".
He nodded, knowing there was a huge but coming up. He wasn't angry at her of course, he knew she had tried.
"But you can't expect me to stay quiet when that bitch mentions you," she said through gritted teeth.
"She what?" Sirius asked sharply, his gaze an identical one to his daughter's.
"Yes she did!" Nova said, glad that someone was now on the same level of furious as her.
"What did she say?" Remus questioned, his mind once again filling with thoughts of self-hatred.
"I can't even say it for merlin's sake! She- she insulted you because of- because of your furry little problem. In front of the whole fucking class!" Nova seethed.
"She did not," Sirius now whispered in a deadly tone.
"She did, Da!" Niva riled him up even more, but the pair fell silent at Remus' warning look.
"What did you do?" He asked cautiously, not wanting her to be in trouble because of him.
"I defended you," she answered with an innocent smile that was failing to hide the satisfied smirk. "Respectfully".
"Sure you did," he scoffed but a smile spread across his face anyways at seeing Sirius high-five her and at the huge grin adorning her face now.
"I got detention, but it was worth it," she shrugged. "And don't you dare tell me off for that. Even if you do, it'll be all worthless as I'd do the entire thing again in a heartbeat," she warned.
"I won't say anything," he rolled his eyes playfully. "But you should've been careful".
"Godric do I feel so much better now that I've got everything off," she laughed .
She laughed.
The two men stared at her for a second before laughing out loud themselves.
"This was the main part, the rest was just stress, tension, pressure from the exams and studies," she added.
"Sure?"
"Sure," she nodded. "Hogwarts has really become a terrible place since that wretched thing has stepped foot inside. I don't even wanna go back," she mumbled.
"No problem!" Sirius said with a very obvious glint in his eyes. "We have a teacher at home, you'll be all set".
Remus shook his head as the two shared a wicked laugh. "As much as I would love to keep you here, darling, you have to go. Unfortunately".
Nova faked a pout and huffed dramatically before resigning to her fate. "Well, the force can't always be with me".
He chuckled and leaned back against the headboard of the bed, "What did she have you doing in detentions?"
Silence. And more silence.
Remus' smile faded as his eyes glanced between Nova and Sirius, who looked a bit anxious too.
"Love, what are you not telling us?" Sirius asked, eyes narrowed in suspicion and also anger at Umbridge.
"I- um- she had me doing lines," she answered, not fully honest but not lying either.
"And?" Remus prodded her, knowing there was something to add.
She sighed, her eyes wandering for a second before she slowly lifted up her sleeve and put forward her left hand.
All that followed her action was a deadly calmness, one that was so intense that she was sure there was going to be a murder happening soon.
Remus swallowed and his eyes pierced the swollen skin of his daughter's hand, his entire figure radiating anger.
"Always a monster, always a disgrace," Sirius read it out through gritted teeth. "She's etched these words, Nova!"
"She didn't do it by herself," Nova mumbled. "I was given a blood-quill, where you use your own blood to write and the words appear on your hand".
"That absolutely revolting and bloody maniac-" An endless stream of curses fell from his lips as he paced around the room.
"Pa?" Nova said cautiously.
Remus didn't say anything and just took her hand in his, his touch filled with every bit of gentleness that his eyes were failing to provide at the moment. He tapped the red skin with his wand and she hissed a little as he healed the deep cuts.
"It looks fresh," Sirius added as he sat down again and watched the wound being treated.
"Well I did have my last detention just a day before coming here".
"For how long?" Remus questioned.
"Almost a month now".
"Why didn't you send a letter?" Sirius muttered and was already planning different ways to commit a crime.
"She would've intercepted it and the result would be more detentions," Nova grumbled. "But it's okay though, I'm fine now".
"It's not okay!" Remus exclaimed. "It's not right to use these things on students. This is a form of torture for godric's sake!"
"I know, Pa," she nodded and spoke softly. "And believe me I would love nothing more than to beat the shit out of her, but it'll not only land me, but us all in trouble too. And it's not worth the risk".
"And where did that girl go who always quoted, 'What's life without a little risk?'" Sirius frowned, not at all liking this.
"I'm still the same, Da," Nova smiled. "But it's really not worth it".
"It bloody is, it's you who's on the line. It's worth every fucking risk," Remus scowled but he did understand.
"Yeah yeah whatever," she brushed it off and flopped onto his lap while keeping her legs in Sirius'.
"If you happen to get the news of Dolores Umbridge mysteriously turning bald, I didn't do anything," he said suddenly and the other two burst out laughing.
"You'll be the first to know," Nova grinned and poked his stomach.
The trio sat there till it was quite late. Just speaking randomly and enjoying each other's presence after being away for so long.
"I'll go get some water," Nova got up holding her stomach as she wiped tears of laughter from her eyes, the reason being Sirius' very bad joke.
She still had a smile on her face as she reached the kitchen and was met with her best friends.
"Hey boys," she greeted cheerfully and the two turned around unbelievably fast.
"Nov," George breathed out and his lips rugged upwards at seeing her back. He quickly went over and hugged her tightly, almost squeezing the life out of her.
She grinned and pulled away to see him pushing Fred towards her and then shooting them a wink before leaving the two alone.
"Hey Freddie," she whispered softly and snaked her arms around his neck as he pulled her close.
"Hullo love," he smiled giddily and wasted no time in pressing his lips to hers with double the passion.
He kissed her with every bit of emotion that was filling his heart, all for her. He kissed her as a sorry for not doing more, for not helping out more. He kissed her as a thank you for fighting the battle and coming out victorious. He kissed her lovingly, feeling his happiness rise upon seeing hers.
"Thank you," she said after they pulled away. Breathless and overwhelmed.
"Every time," he replied and pecked her cheek gently.
"And sorry too".
"I'll take that one as well".
The couple laughed like buffoons, being crazily drunk over each other that they were unable to form a meaningful sentence.
Fred gave her a beautiful smile and wrapped her in an embrace, "I love you".
Her lips twitched and she leaned her head on his shoulder, enjoying the warmth and intimacy. "I love you too".
She then pulled back and gave him one last kiss before saying good night.
"Night," he whispered back and watched with a daze as she walked up the stairs.
Nova still had the red hue that had coated her cheeks during the kiss and as she entered her room, her parents were quick to spot it.
"Took you long enough to just get some water, eh?" Sirius teased and lifted his eyebrows while Remus smirked.
"Oh shut up," she grumbled and laughed despite herself as she finally settled on the bed.
"Of course," Remus smiled, one that wasn't sincere in any kind of way making her roll her eyes.
"Sleep now," Sirius said after toning down the teasing session and turning off the lights.
"Yeah," she answered, grabbing the blankets and closing her eyes.
"Love you, darling," said Remus.
"Tons and tons," completed Sirius.
"I love you 3000," she offered them a cheeky grin and wink before letting sleep take her.
The two men chuckled fondly at her antics, glad to have their little star once again. They looked at her adoringly before gazing at each other with the same amount of love.

Fred Weasley spending the night at Lupin-Black cottage would include:
Sirius being adamant that if he sleeps in Y/n's room, Fred must either sleep on the floor or the couch
Ofc when Sirius leaves, Fred would eventually go on to Y/n's bed and stay there the rest of the night
Fred would ask Y/n to put on a tv show and the two would watch it until one of them would get hungry
So both Fred and Y/n would head down to the kitchen at some ungodly time and snag a tub of ice cream and a pack of cookies and head back to Y/n's room
The ice cream tub would be empty and only a few cookies would be left at the end of the night
By then, the two would have fallen asleep, cuddled up on the bed while the film continued to play in the background.
The next morning when Sirius comes to wake up the two and mostly to check if Fred had listened to his requirements
But when he sees that the two were blissfully snuggled up together in their sleep, he held back on the thought of waking them up, afraid it would ruin the adorable moment even if he still wasn't completely okay with the idea that his daughter was dating Fred Weasley
Sirius would simply go back down to the kitchen to inform Remus and Teddy that the two weren't going to be joining them that morning and that they might be sleeping in.

౨ৎ never grow up. (sirius black x reader)
summary: you and sirius’ daughter is slowly growing up, and your love only grows stronger for your baby.
pairing(s): potter!reader, sirius black x reader, james potter x reader (platonic), harry potter x daughter (platonic), dad!siriusblack x children, mum!reader x children
i hope you enjoy this whilst I answer requests! if there are any more scenarios/imagine ideas, submit them here!
When your first daughter was born, you and Sirius always had the pestering fear of never being the best parents to your baby but the second you both laid eyes on your beautiful hazel eyed daughter, Emmie, you knew that was it for the two of you. She now had your hearts.
The rest of the world fell still and into black and white, your daughter taking all the colour and attention. She was your pride and joy, and you would go to crazy lengths to protect her. You hoped time would give you benefit of keeping her young and safe in your arms forever.
But the little finger holds, and nonsense babbling turned into loud giggles and the noise of tiny feet running around the house.
In the blink of an eye, she was your little princess who insisted on playing tea party with her Uncle Jamie and Uncle Remmy. With handmade diy crowns she had made with Sirius, giggling as the two put as much glitter and feathers on them as they could. And the pout on her face as you held the cookie jar in your hand, looking at your little girl’s adorable pleading wide eyes.
Oh, and her new fondness that she had developed for the baby in your tummy, mindlessly talking to her baby sibling about joining in on family nights and pressing sweet kisses onto your belly.
Then she grew up again so suddenly, now whining as the two of you and the baby in the pram fussed over getting a photo of her first day of big girl school. With her two plaits that Sirius had done for her, the thrilly yellow dress that you had picked out for her, and the small butterfly backpack that she had carefully picked out.
“Mummy! Daddy! Please can i go in now?” She pouted, looking up at the two of you with her wide eyes. Sirius looked back at the photos on the family digital camera with your son, Theodore on his hip, both grinning widely at the same little girl on the screen.
“Yes, you can Sweetheart.” You chuckle, crouching on the floor to bring her into a comforting hug. Not that she needed the comfort, she just wanted to go and play with some new friends, but you just couldn’t bear to let her go. Whilst she sneakily rubbed your tummy, in goodbyes to her sibling.
When a warm hand touched your shoulder only then did you loosen your grip and surface back to your normal height, taking your son from Sirius so he could also hug your little girl.
After the goodbyes, Emmie happily ran to the door where the teacher was stood ushering the kids in with a beautiful smile.
Then suddenly she was older, the ripe age of fourteen, starting high school as she reluctantly accepted any affection from you and Sirius in-front of the school gates.
Theodore was standing by your side, eyes wandering as he watched all the bigger kids walk into the school with his big eyes. Charmingly smiling at the teenage girls that giggled and waved kindly at the little boy. Always a charmer, supposing he got that from his dad.
“Seriously, Mum you’re kind of embarrassing me,” she huffed as you stroked admiringly at her luscious black hair, “I told you, you should have just dropped me around the corner.” She frowned, looking around at the bigger kids who she claimed were staring.
“I love you too, Sweetheart.” You rolled your eyes humourlessly, adjusting your grasp on your son’s hand as he attempted to swing his lunch box.
“Have a good day princess, I love you.” Sirius added, a chuckle here and there at the last interaction. Emmie’s hazel doe eyes looked up at her dad, a daring smile on her lips, the same cheeky smile her dad had wore when he was her age.
“Bye Theo.” She said, ruffling her brother’s hair as he groaned and protested, “Bye, Char Char.” She grinned widely, pressing a kiss to the baby resting on your hip. Then she was walking off with confidence in her step towards the school doors.
“She used to be our little baby, and i’m worried now that she thinks we hate her for little small things.” You let a few tears slip as Sirius look’s through the camera at all the time that you both took for granted. Naturally, as a fifteen year old, your daughter took a liking to acting like the both of you had troubled her endlessly when in reality you only informed her of dinner.
“Oh darling, please don’t cry,” Sirius hushed you, bringing your head into his neck crevice whilst you clambered into his lap. “She knows we love her, and she loves us, shes just going through a teenager phase.” He comforted you, free hand caressing the bare of your back under your loose shirt.
Mindlessly not realising that your precious daughter was stilled and paused outside your bedroom door, on her way to grab a drink from the kitchen. Very aware of the tears that were slipping from her mums eyes.
“Mum, i’m sorry.” Emmie frowned as she walked into your bedroom later that night, coming to your side as you relaxed at her presence. You swore your eyes glassed over right then and there.
“It’s okay Sweetheart, You’re allowed to feel angry sometimes, we just need to deal with it differently.” You softly told her, moving over on the bed so she could hopefully join you. Which she did. Tucking into your side just like she used when she was younger, you immediately bought her in closer as you both observed the movie on the tv.
“I do love you, you know that right?” She frowned, looking up at you with the same brown eyes that she had been blessed with when she was born.
“Of course, and i love you too.” You replied, pressing a soft kiss to the crown of her head, pulling the duvet over your tired bodies.
Then she was moving out. Boxes littered all over her bedroom in the midst of moving them to the car. Now she really was being taken away from yours and Sirius’ hands, she really had grown up. Nineteen, moving into her first apartment in London, all by herself.
Well, not really by herself, your brothers son, Harry, her cousin, they decided to move in together. Secretly not wanting to be alone.
It was sweet. They both had gone through being toddlers playing together and causing mischief in high school together to now, newly adults waiting to start a new chapter in life.
Five of you; Sirius, James, Harry, Emmie and yourself all trying to bring the boxes into their three bedroom flat. Whilst Charlotte and Lily accompanied each-other in the car, the latter wanting to hear all about her nieces teenage love life. Invested in all the gossip that she wouldn’t get from young Harry again now that he was a drive away and not in the same house as her.
Wasn’t long until they were all unpacked and you were still desperately trying to find things to do and occupy yourself with so you didn’t have to leave.
“Mum, i think you’ve done possibly everything there is to do.” Theodore complained, probably tired from all the heavy carrying. Emmie smiled and laughed, wiping her hard worked hands onto the back of her jeans.
“He’s right mum, thank you though.” She widely grinned, eyes twinkling with hope and excitement for a new chapter in life. Sirius was holding you by the waist pressing tired kisses into your neck, assumably trying to comfort your stressed form. Which worked, as you immediately relaxed.
“I just want to make sure that both you and Harry are safe here.” You defended, turning your head to kiss your husband on the cheek in thanks.
“What she means is she just doesn’t want to leave you.” James raised an eyebrow as you scolded him and hit him on the shoulder. Either James was really good at hiding reactions (he wasn’t) or the reality of his first son leaving home hadn’t hit him. Most probably the latter one, he was your brother after all, you two were alike.
“Thank you for everything mum and dad, i love you both.” Emmie smiled, bringing the two of you into a quiet but warm embrace.
“Don’t forget we’re only twenty minutes away!” You rushed to add, earning an eye roll and a smirk from your daughter. “Same for you too, Harry, seriously you two. One. Call. Away.” You meaningfully told them, empathising the last words.
“Trust me, you wouldn’t let us forget.” Harry smirked at his joke, earning low chuckles from everyone in the room but you. “I’m joking, Aunt y/n, we appreciate it, really.” He genuinely smiled as the two ushered everyone to the door.
You let out a defeated hmph, saying all your final goodbyes as you and Sirius headed back to the car, hands enclasped in love.
“Our first baby’s all grown up.” You sigh, turning to your husband with a sad smile. Whilst he had a matching one, pressing a soft kiss to your lips.
“And you two are too, now come on you babies!” James exclaimed from in front, jogging ahead to assumably get back to his newborn who is definitely hungry.
“Aren’t you a little bit sad, Jamie?” You scoffed lightly, a smile playing at your lips knowingly. His eyes met yours and emotion danced all around in them, glassed over with held back tears.
“We’ll see them soon.” He settled for, reassuring look on his face probably to comfort himself. “If not, i’ll have to fake fancy holidays just to have a gathering.” He smirked.

pairing: sirius black x younger potter! reader
summary: something about your relationship with sirius black had never sit quite right with you, and now that he's back after two years of travelling the world, you're beginning to think that you'll soon find out what'll happens if the two of you finally fall over the edge of whatever precipice you've been teetering close to all these years. plus, you've got to work with him all summer, so what's the worst that could happen?
warnings: allusions to sex (minors dni!!!), swearing, cocky sirius and like kind of an annoying younger sister reader (but also that's literally me lol), bad transitions between light hearted banter and angst but i'm trying my best RIP, i imagine sirius to be mid-20s and reader only 3/4 years younger (but everyone is OF AGE), mommy issues if you squint
wc: 5.4k+
note: soooo i'm back :D again :D i'm almost done with second year and actually somewhat ahead with all my papers (with very minimal finals; def recommend being a history major x) and i've just been missing the community so enjoy this! i had this first chapter posted a while back (like maybe a year) but it was actually ass so i've redone it a little :)))) as always, reblogs and comments are MUCH appreciated and i can't wait to interact w/ y'all over this because i have been DAYDREAMING about brother's bf sirius :')

“What do you mean he’s working at the shop as well?!” you screeched, chasing your Mother around the kitchen, feeling a lot like the pesky youngest child you were.
“He needs some help so we offered to give him a job. Honestly sweetheart, aren’t you too old for this childish feud?”
“Too old? Shouldn’t you be saying that to him? He’s like– thirty or something, and still continues to be the bane of my existence. Fucking Bla–”
Your Mother whirled on you abruptly, brandishing the wooden spoon she was about to stir the boiling pot with right in your face. “Language, missy! I would tell him the same thing, but unluckily for you, you’re my daughter and currently living under my roof, so you get to hear it first.” She gave you a saccharine sweet smile, the kind that had you biting back the urge to stomp your feet and pout at her until she gave in. Unfortunately for you, that hadn’t worked since you were about six years old.
“--now, he’s been gone for such a long time, and we’re all very excited to see him, so don’t ruin this reunion with any more of your tantrums.”
You opened your mouth, intent on not letting the argument die there, but your Father bounded into the kitchen at the same moment, ruffling up your hair with a “Hey there, kiddo,” before promptly moving on to snake his hands around your Mother’s waist. “Looking as beautiful as always, my dear,” he cooed into her ear. She let out an uncharacteristic giggle that had you bolting from the kitchen before you were scarred any further.
Your parents’ tooth-aching affections for each other were just that: sweet, but sickly all the same. Deep down, you knew you yearned for a romance like theirs, something genuine but passionate, able to withstand the test of time (and your ever-dwindling patience). James, your older brother, had found it with Lily, their son Harry being a product of their young but no less intense love.
And you loved that kid like he was your own. Would beg James to let you come over, play with the babbling toddler for a few hours, would even offer up your weekends, encouraging the young couple to “go out, live a little!”. But they were about as infatuated with their own child as you were, and had a never-ending supply of friends who were equally as eager to help out.
Speaking of, one of those eager friends was currently pounding his stupid fist against your stupid front door, and you were already riled up from the news that you couldn’t take seeing his face physically in front of you, as well.
You shoved past James, knocking him back a step as his hand reached for the door to let his best mate in. You caught a glimpse of him on the doorstep, the first in almost two years– hair unruly like he’d just rolled out of bed, long, black strands; newly tanned skin blushing under the heat of the sun; those thick, brooding eyebrows that raised up in your direction – eughh.
“What’s got your knickers in a bunch?” James called at your retreating figure, shouting loud enough to be heard over your heavy footsteps despite the carpeted floor.
“Ask your best mate over there!” you answered back with a bite, slamming your room door shut.
“Fuck,” he sighed, defeated, yanking his confused friend in and a chucking a thumb towards the stairs. “How’ve you managed to piss her off before you even got here?” he asked incredulously. “Peace– we had peace in this house for the past two years since you’ve been off travelling, and now look–! It’s a bloody riot!”
“Oi– I’ve done nothing,” he moaned indignantly, hanging his coat and scarf on the gold-crested hooks by the door. “--I think,” he added for good measure after a beat.
He never understood why the two of you struggled to get along. You’d grown up together, spent every waking moment in each other’s presence when he was at the Potter residence (which happened to be just about always given his own family situation). In theory, he should be like some sort of older brother figure– someone to loan out advice and shoulders to cry on and all that jazz.
But no. Something about you and your irritatingly know-it-all personality, or shrill voice when indignant (which was rather often around him), or your need to always be right – something about you made it so he just had to tease you endlessly until you were yelling, voice all pitchy, nostrils flared, breath heavy and face blotchy. When things would begin to die down, he’d find something else to point out, argue back, hit the nail on your specific head– something to really push you that little bit over the edge.
It was a little too fun to not try to get a rise out of you every time you were together. And as much as Sirius was aware that the jabs each of you threw had gotten a little more out of hand and a little less appropriate for your relationship– he just couldn’t stop.
The rest of the Potter family didn’t share your sentiments about Sirius, and rather adored him immeasurably. Had since he’d taken to hiding out in their house after a particularly brutal fight at home when he was only eleven. Heck, he’d even attended every Potter-family gathering, dinner, birthday, you name it, since then. It was why he came over every Sunday for a roast, pudding and some chat – he could never put into words what your family had done for him, the safety, security, home, even, they'd given him when he’d been lost and entirely clueless of what a real family looked like.
So he made the thirty-minute drive, every Sunday, much to your irritation. He plastered on the biggest smile for your Mum, complimenting every minute detail of the meal she cooked for the family, drank a glass of whiskey and smoked a cigar with your Dad; he was even Harry’s favourite, always humming quiet melodies into the youngest Potter’s ear.
With him travelling the world for the past almost-two-years, he’d missed out on the family time he usually looked forward to every weekend. Mondays seemed a lot less dreadful after having a belly-full of Mrs Potter’s food. Still, he’d sent postcards and printed pictures of everywhere he went, the sights he’d seen, people he’d met. It wasn’t the same, not without the lot of you to pester him (maybe you especially) but he’d needed some time to find himself.
He still wasn’t sure if he’d found what he was looking for, but the money had to have run out eventually so he was back home, ready to work and settle down in his life for once after graduating Hogwarts.
Sirius followed James into the living room where he found Lily, sipping on a glass of red, sitting by the empty fireplace. Instead, a window had been cracked in to let the temperate wind in.
She perked up as they entered, waving with that soul-wrenching smile of hers that could persuade even the most strong-willed of men into submission.
“Pads, you’re back!” she called from her seat. "And you've grown a moustache-- interesting choice of facial hair." Sirius, however, raised an eyebrow at her questioningly, ignoring her greeting-slash-judgement as he peered into the empty crib by her side, even going as far as to search under it as if the toddler might have escaped.
“Harry’s gone to bed in the guest room. There was a bit of a shouting match before you arrived,” James explained, sinking into the space beside his wife and pulling her into his side. “Actually, now that I think about it, there was a lot of shouting after you arrived as well!”
Lily snorted, snuggling into her husband without hesitation, and Sirius couldn’t help but avert his eyes, feeling entirely like he was imposing on an intimate moment as the two of them whispered in the other’s ear.
“Well, don’t mind me. Sitting here, all by my lonesome, no company or polite chatter to partake in, not even my dashing god son to entertain me” he sighed, dramatically, to no one in particular. James rolled his eyes at his best friend’s antics, chucking a frilly throw-pillow at his face (that’s what they’re for, right?) which he just as easily caught.
“Har-Har! Ever the clown, Paddy,” James mocked, flipping him off just in time for his Mum to walk in and see.
“James! Don’t aim such crude displays at my son,” she scolded, wrapping her wrinkled arms around Sirius’ shoulders from behind his chair. She leaned down, kissing the top of his head affectionately. Sirius only whimpered in agreement, leaning into her motherly touch and whining on and on about how James was being a right bully.
“My sweet child, I’ve missed you!” She beamed down at him, and that longing Sirius sometimes felt for his own Mother’s approval, her devotion or fondness, it lessened.
“But you didn’t– He was just!-- You missed– arghh!” James groaned defeatedly, head flailed back to rest against the sofa, receiving no sympathies from his giggling wife and glaring Mother. “I’m starting to understand why she hates you.”
Sirius’ eyes flashed at that– did you really hate him? Had it gotten to that point?
At the mention of your name but current absence, Mrs Potter ordered, “Go call your sister for dinner, I’ve set the table.”
He began to protest, failing to come up with a half-decent reason why he can’t walk up the two flights of stairs and pull your petulant frame from your bed– but Sirius interrupted in time, before James could make any more of a fool himself in front of his own Mother. “I’ll go get her. Got to figure out what I did this time,” he offered coolly.
Euphemia, that is, Mrs Potter, had a strict no-apparting rule in her house, had lost too many expensive vases from James and Sirius’ apparition-sprees the second they’d turned seventeen. You already had your licence, having been of legal age for some time, and had, since graduating (top of the class, as you tended to point out, much to your Ravenclaw friends’ dismay) from Hogwarts, found a job at a school in the muggle world, teaching children English Literature in preparation of some exam. O Levels, you’d called them.
Sirius thought it to be some sort of torture device - these O Levels – but you’d smacked him across the head in admonishment with the book in your hand – you were always carrying one, though he designated them to be a weapon, at least when in your possession – before he could say much else. Having a family-run bookshop made it so that the books, or the weapons, really, were in endless supply for you, much to Sirius’ chagrin.
Your love for reading had come from him, your Father, from when he’d stay up till the late hours of the night, hushed whispers under your bed sheet so your Mother wouldn’t hear, as he read you the Classics in animated voices that had you completely enchanted. He made sparks fly from the tip of his wand, bright colours that your little eyes couldn’t quite get enough of.
You loved being a wizard, were eternally grateful for the world you lived in and the undeniable awe of it all. But words, books, literature – they were enough magic for you, took you to places you could only ever dream to visit, and had you feeling such all-consuming emotions that sometimes, you wondered if you’d ever make it to the end of the page, or chapter, or book.
“Oi– your Mum’s put out dinner, she’s calling you downstairs,” he called through the thick wood of your door.
Sirius didn’t know why he was nervous. It was you, the little girl he’d watched grow up and had grown up with. But if the short glance he’d gotten of your stomping person as you huffed up the stairs was any indicated, you were by no means little anymore.
Funny what a few years can do to a person, huh.
He nudged it open when you didn’t respond, only to find you slumped across your bed, glaring, silently, at the ceiling and the pale-orange light emanating from the lamp on your bedside table.
You certainly looked different– older, possibly? He couldn’t quite place what had changed, only that he knew something had. In the way you dressed, styled your hair, held yourself. Even the look of your room– no longer plastered in butterflies and pink roses, but instead painted a burnt umber and with tapestries and muggle band posters hanging across every wall. A stack of vinyls were shoved into one side of your room, along with piles and piles of books, some old and missing a few pages, while others were untouched.
You heard the door click open, sitting up on your elbows to see a smirking Sirius, oozing an annoying amount of confidence, and leaning against your doorframe.
Something in your chest stumbled almost immediately. He looked the same, behaved the same as well. Still the Sirius that had left to see the world, leaving the rest of you behind. Though, he might’ve managed to actually tan, now that you really looked at him, imagining the broad planes of his shoulders, hidden by a thin linen button up, were more sun-kissed than milky-pale now.
Except you refused to even entertain the thought. You were not thinking of him or his skin or his bare chest or--
“What’s with the face?” you asked, already knowing you’ll regret the answer.
“Was that meant to be a greeting?” His eyebrow raised in amusement.
“Hi Sirius-- what’s with the face?” you answered, again, between clenched teeth.
“Nice pair of panties you got on there, bright pink, are they?” he nodded at your thighs, only just clocking that maybe having your legs spread so far apart when you’re wearing a skirt wasn’t the best idea.
Your thighs snapped shut just as Sirius was snickering behind his fist. “So, dinner?” he asked again, stepping into your room and letting the door shut behind him.
“Go to hell.”
“See, that sounds a little inconvenient, and a lot hot– humidity isn’t great for the hair, or skin. Anyway, I’ve just been around the world and found no place called Hell so not sure what to say, little Potter.” You hadn’t missed his sarcastic rambles, even though you were already struggling to hide the smile taking over your face as you looked anywhere but at him. “I tried, I really did, just for you.”
Your stomach dipped at that, a wave pulling you under-- for you.
“Buuuut– you know what I absolutely adore? Your mother’s cooking, and I haven’t had it in a while, so up ya’ get,” he insisted, tugging you up by your forearms until you were pressed against his front, not a sliver of space between the two of you.
Your breath caught in your throat. You could feel him everywhere. Hot skin against your bare arms, the itchy wool of his jumper, if you concentrated a little more, the hard expanse of his chest against yours. He must have felt it too because he released you like you were fire and he a mere mortal, brows pinching in confusion and something else, looking at you like you were a question he couldn’t quite find the answer to.
It was entirely foreign, the heat gathering in the pit of your stomach– it surely hadn’t been there before he’d left. You looked, or gawked, more like, at the very man you detested with every ounce of your being, but also the very man you were about to spend almost every hour of every day, for the rest of the Summer, with.
“Fuck,” he cursed under his breath, as if realising the same thing as you now that you were stood in front of him. Suddenly, he understood what the whole shouting match must have been about, and up until a few moments ago, he might have disagreed with you entirely.
Now, though? He wasn’t sure what he felt.
“Ditto,” you breathed back. You pushed past him after staring for a second too long, hurrying on socked feet to the dining room downstairs, and not bothering to check if he was following.
Tumblr media
The quiet jingle of the bell tickled your ears as you opened the door to the bookshop, dust immediately invading your senses as you fought back a harsh cough. Your Dad pushed in front of you, forcing the door to stay open by propping a stack of intimidatingly large books in front of it. You laughed silently to yourself, noting how they were all Dickens (he hated Dickens, said his novels were disturbingly boring and unnecessarily detailed).
You could only agree, never having had the courage to pick up any of those enormous beasts yourself.
“So, you can dust a little, and sweep the floor, before we open. Count the money in the till, as well, that’s very important,” he noted off, and you suddenly wish you had a pen and a pad of paper to write it all down. It wasn’t like you hadn’t been helping out at the shop since when you were younger, but this was the first time you’d been granted the responsibility of having it all to yourself (minus the inconvenience that was Sirius Black).
You were an adult now (barely, but that was a technicality)– loved to point it out any chance you got, and it meant that your Dad trusted you enough to not hover over your shoulder every time you took a shift. He was working fewer hours, though now, none, as he wanted to finish the novel he’d been writing for the past decade after melodramatically announcing at the dinner table that “It’s time!”
You weren’t sure what that exactly meant, but you weren’t about to argue with the man paying you an overly generous ten pounds an hour.
You didn’t need the money for yourself, what with still living at your parent’s house, but you wanted to contribute to the house and expenses and what no, even if it was a minuscule sum.
“Another thing,” he added, stopping, rather abruptly, in front of you, voice worryingly grave as he placed his large palms over either of your shoulders. “Please,” he begged, brows dipping, “don’t fight with Sirius in front of the customers.”
“I haven’t even done anything and you’re already after me,” you objected, pulling back from his usually comforting hold and pulling the broom out from behind the counter. His hands fell defeatedly against his sides as he sighed, standing in your way before you could mope yourself into a tizzy before the work day had even started.
“I didn’t mean it like that,” he ensured, pulling you in for a tight embrace. “You know you’re my number one, sweetheart. Just don’t like seeing you so upset.”
James always teased you for being your Father’s favourite, and you’d never argue, relishing in his pointed fingers and sneering words, because it was true– there was something between you and your Father, an understanding that no one else had clued in on. He eased your worries like no one else could, smoothed irked creases across your face, replacing them with belly-hurting laughter lines and a grin so wide, you were worried it would fall off your face.
Anyway, James was the same with your Mum. You found her difficult to communicate with, what with her being as hot-heated as you were, so as much as you and your Dad got along, you butted heads with your Mum just as much. “It’s ‘cause you two are so similar, like twins, I tell you!” But it did little to calm your nerves around her, or stoke the flames of anger you so often felt.
You were about to respond, ready to tell your Dad just how much you loved him, when someone crashed through the door, slamming into the counter you were standing behind. You turned, eyes connecting with your (late) colleague. He looked utterly windswept, as if he’d run – or been chased – the whole way there.
“You okay, son?” your Dad asked, worry shifting from you to the panting, bent-over Sirius.
“Me? Oh– peachy, just– peachy,” he answered between heavy breaths, waving off his doting hands. “Sorry I’m late, got a little carried away with something and lost track of time.”
You were conscious of how your Dad didn’t offer Sirius the same advice, to not pick a fight or argue or whatever it was the two of you did, and you couldn’t help but roll your eyes at how he had everyone charmed. So you busied yourself behind the till, doing as you were instructed and counting the money, writing down the number of each of the bills on a notepad you pulled from the drawer at your waist.
Your Dad left soon after, turning the closed sign out front to open as he wished you, and Sirius, good luck.
“Guess it’s just the two of us, little Potter,” Sirius pointed out, already sounding bored as he fell into a stool at your side. He leaned his head against his arm, stretching it from side to side as he groaned at his tense muscles.
You didn’t mean to stare, swore it wasn’t something you’d let become a habit, but your gaze immediately travelled to the exposed skin of his neck, zeroing in on the trail of newly-formed purple bruises  down the side. You snorted, shaking your head at him, slamming the money compartment shut a little too aggressively so that it caught Sirius’ attention. He recognised your expression to be something close to amusement, jabbing you in your side until you were scowling and slapping his fingers away.
“What’s wrong with you– you’re acting like a fucking child,” you admonished, moving out of reach and resting a hand on your hip.
“Why’d you make that face?” he asked instead of answering your question, nodding at you like it was you who had started it.
“It’s nothing,” you went with, hearing your Father’s words echoing in your mind from just moments ago. You needed to diffuse the situation before you really got mad, because past that point, you weren’t responsible for what you said– or did.
So you ventured into the aisles of books, a curious Sirius on your heels, following you like a lost, yapping puppy. “If it’s nothing then why are you running away?” he pushed back.
You ignored him pointedly, stopping to stack a few books and dust along the shelves. No one had come in yet, still too early in the morning for any tourists to stumble upon your admittedly quaint but bursting shop.
The sunlight barely filtered past the dense collection of books and mahogany shelves that lined the walls, but the windows stretched to the tall ceilings, and if you went up the spiralling staircase at the centre of the store, you’d find yourself in a cosy loft space, bathed in gold and stuffed with arm chairs and sofas for people to sit and read in.
It was your favourite part of the store, and you were seriously debating hiding up there on your first day, just to get away from the walking-plague that followed you.
“Come on– tell me,” he whined, standing too close for your liking. You side-stepped away, brushing a cloth against the worn covers of the Mystery section. He followed suit, returning to his previous position, and this time, you had no way out with the wall of books you’d met.
You turned, facing him and finally acknowledged his presence. “You lied,” you stated matter-of-factly, loving that you actually had the upper-hand with him. As much as you prided yourself with being quick-witted, Sirius always seemed to find a way to stay on-top.
“Gonna have to give me something more than that, darling. Lied about what?” he countered, raising an eyebrow at you.
It took everything in you to ignore the pet name, something more endearing hidden under it that you had never noticed before, and those pesky butterflies returned to bug about in your gut.
Fucking moths, you groaned internally.
“You said you were busy and lost track of time. But those bites across your neck say otherwise,” you stared pointedly at the affected area now, though it was covered by his hair in this position. His hand flew to his neck, as if only just realising they were on display.
“That’s none of your business Potter,” he countered, now irritated and still trying to hide the hickies on his neck with only his palm.
“It actually is my business when you’re both late to your job and lying to my Father,” you threw back, shoving forward and relishing in his slight stumble back– as if he hadn’t yet noticed the two of you were so so close.
“You can’t–” his eyes were wide, worried, as he grabbed your elbow, forcing you to meet his gaze, “You can’t tell him. He’ll be so disappointed and I can’t–”
Now it was your turn to frown over the devastation so wrought over his face. And if you two were anyone else, you might’ve let it go. Might’ve–
“Well tough shit, Black. You’re an adult, now. This is the real world we’re talking about. Not whatever fantasy you’ve been away in for the past two years. And here, in the real world–” you gestured around yourself, “--actions have consequences. You slutting it up on the night before your first day at your new job isn’t much of an excuse, now is it?”
And really, you deserved it, now that you thought back. His anger was reasonable and your need to poke straight through his ribcage, wrap your fist around his heart and squeeze tight, was not.
“Oh, fuck you, Potter!” he bit out. “You’re accusing me of not acting like an adult when you literally still live at home! Not to mention you can’t have a decent conversation with anyone without throwing the most childish temper tantrum known to man. I might be slutting it up, as you’ve put it, but at least I’m getting some,” he was breathing hard now, and the more he spoke the more the anger burned away, but his words wouldn’t stop. In fact, you think you could see him cringe, in pain or guilt or some nervous tick, as he delivered the final blow.
“Maybe if you weren’t so miserable to be around all the time, someone might actually give it to you too.”
It didn’t take long for you to react. Nor did it take long for your hand to fly up and connect with his cheek, hard and final. He wasn’t even surprised, had seen it coming a mile way, maybe even from his first “fuck you”. Because he knew he deserved it and he remembered now why he had left two years ago. Sure, it wasn’t all you. There’d been others who had irked him to the point of wanting a fresh start. And even then, it wasn’t that you were one of those people– you just would get him so riled up, to the point where he could no longer trust the words coming out of his mouth.
“I’m sorry,” he whispered then, fighting the urge to look away from your glassy stare. “I’m sorry, Potter. You know I don’t mean it.”
And deep down inside, you did know. You knew you both brought out the worst in each other. Only, you could never figure out why that was. Why you wanted to hurl insults and slap him silly for every comment or look or stupid way he’d string together the most perfect sentence and his irritating eyes and mouth and–
“Excuse me? Is anyone here?”
You inhaled, all sudden, as if only just realising what you had done (or what you had thought). You brushed past him without a word, needing, more than ever, to put some space between the two of you. If not for your anger then for whatever pesky emotion was seeping through your cracks.
You were (reluctantly) pulled from wherever your thoughts had been racing to as you called into the store, “Just one moment!”
You didn’t see it, not then – too focused on keeping one foot in front of the other as you made your way back, escaping to the front of the shop, faking a polite smile as you greeted the awaiting customer– but Sirius collapsed, defeated, into the wall the moment you walked away.
Something was telling him that if he hadn’t just torn your heart to shreds with a string of insults then he might have done it some other way– some other way that might have left him in trouble with James, Lily and your parents for an entirely different set of reasons.
‘Cause Jesus Christ– he wanted to be the one to give you what you needed. Or rather, he needed to, desperately. And two years away hadn’t altered the line between the two of you from enemies to something more.
And Sirius truly debated if this was the moment for him to get back onto a train to anywhere you were not. It didn’t matter if he had no money or nowhere to be, but if it meant he could avoid killing you with words or kissing your face off– he couldn’t quite see a way out of his predicament.
James would kill him. As would your parents. And Lily– God, you prayed Lily never found out. She’d serve his head up on a platter and laugh while she did it. She was awfully protective of you, always on your side when you bickered with him. If anything, you loved her even more for it, having always noticed how you frowned a little deeper, detached a little more from yourself, whenever your parents favoured him in an argument.
“Sirius!” you shouted again, no longer faking your emotions but rather genuinely just exasperated by him once more.
“I’m coming! I’m coming!” He managed to not get lost in the labyrinth of books, and found you by the travel section, chatting good-naturedly with a blonde in a tight dress.
“How can I help, doll?” he asked the blonde in question. His one tactic for almost every conundrum he’d ended up in was avoidance. And bloody hell was he good at it.
He smiled at her, the customer, doing little to hide his admiration for the legs she had on display. She flushed a pretty pink, averting her gaze, lip between her teeth. Bingo!
“Christ, you’re disgusting,” you muttered, mouth pouting and quiet enough that only he could hear.
“Only for you, sweetheart, only for you,” he bit back, not wanting the currently oblivious customer clue in on their conversation. “So, how can I help?”
“She needs that book–” you pointed to the top shelf, well out of reach. “--the green spine that says Amsterdam, but I can’t reach it and the step ladder is too heavy.”
“Alas! Only ever needed for my body, it seems,” he moaned with an irritating amount of flourish.
“Whatever it takes to get the book down– do what you must, Black.” You patted his chest reassuringly, taking your spot, once again, behind the cash register.
“So– planning a trip are you?” Sirius asked in between excessive displays of strength as he hauled the bulky ladder with a single hand. You glared at the girl as she swooned at him, wanting, rather unreasonably, for her to combust right where she stood.
But that was a ridiculous thought to begin with. You could barely stand to be even within a metre’s distance of the guy, let alone on the receiving end of his affections. You were tired, emotional and dehydrated. Must be. Though a glance at the clock had you realising it had barely been an hour since your day had started.
So, maybe just emotional and dehydrated.
“I’m going to get a coffee from across the street,” you announced, slugging your tote bag onto your shoulder as you walked past the preoccupied pair. Not waiting for a response, you stepped out into the early morning sun, frowning, for once, at the glare in your eyes and not the irritant you’d left behind.
It was easier to refer to him as something pesky, infectious, fungus-like even, rather than the only person who knew how to break your heart (and despite your somewhat impenetrable facade, you let him do just that every time).

hello, you could do something with Sirius by going to meet the reader's parents (Sirius was insecure about this), but he is welcomed and the reader's whole family seems to love him
thanks for requesting, sweetheart!! 847 words f!reader
this is short and thrown together worse than Sirius' cookies. sorry.
Sirius is crowded around your niece, boxing her in against the counter as she stands on her cooking stool. He'd been the only one left with enough energy to make cookies with her after dinner. It's sweet, the gentle tone he uses with her, the patience he has that allows her to do everything by herself. He doesn't balk when she spills all of the measured flour straight onto the counter, just hands her the bag with extra caution and tells her he'll tidy it up later, that mistakes happen.
They're in their own little world, unaware, or simply uncaring, of the eyes on them. You know a little about Sirius' past; his horrible family, his traumatic upbringing, how he never truly felt loved by anyone except his younger brother until he ran away and the Potters took him in. It would've been enough for you to assume the idea of doing such an activity, that requires such patience and acceptance of mess, would send Sirius spiralling. Except, he's embraced it openly, he was more than willing, and he seems to be truly enjoying himself.
In all the time you've known Sirius, you've known him to love loud and abrasive. He's jagged around the edges, a bright, shattered light of chaos and pure energy. He's over the top, loves too hard, is quick to anger. But with your niece, it's the first time you've ever seen Sirius quiet, soft. He's all gentle movements and murmured encouragements, and you like this version of him, but you find yourself waiting for your Sirius to return. The Sirius who can command a room with a single smile, whose laugh sounds more like a barking doberman, whose presence takes up every last drop of attention.
He'd been so nervous about meeting your family. Understandable, given his own upbringing. But, he never had any reason to worry. Not with the way your sister and mother watch him, black top and jeans covered in flower, dried egg white smeared across his cheek, and still, a wide smile across his lips every time your niece turns around, as if checking he's still there. Still encouraging her. He always is.
"You think you'll have one soon?" Your sister asks. There's a sly smirk on her face, as though the sight before you was purposefully designed to make you broody.
You answer with a shrug. You're not broody, but theres a glow to your heart with the idea of this being healing for Sirius. "Not sure. We've never spoken about it."
Your family don't know about Sirius' past, at his request. He'd wanted to earn their respect, not receive it through pity. You can't wait to tell him they respect him beyond what he could've ever imagined. He'll be so happy. He'd spent the whole way over fretting about whether he'd picked the right outfit, the right aftershave, what he should and shouldn't say. You didn't have the heart to tell him that your family, whether or not they'd met him before, already loved him, simply because of how happy he made you.
"You'd make cute babies." Your sister tilts her head to the side, very obviously ogling your boyfriend and you scoff.
"Subtle."
She shrugs, unfazed.
"I'm just saying. No man I've ever met has the patience for toddlers the way he does." She picks up her wine glass, takes a pointed sip, eyebrows raised.
"We'll see." You reply.
"He makes you happy. It's hard to watch your daughters grow up, navigate life and love," Your mother chips in, hands splayed out across the dining table, "It's hard to watch them fall, pick themselves back up, and fall again. Hard to watch them trust the wrong people. But I have no doubt that man would ever hurt you. He, perhaps, loves you more than anyone in this world."
It's a nice thought. The idea of Sirius loving you most. Your eyes find his, conversation coming to a halt as he lifts your niece out of her cooking stool and she toddles over to your sister.
The cookies are in the oven, and Sirius has gotten straight to the task of cleaning up. You join him, piling bowls and utensils into the dish washer whilst he wipes the copious amounts of spilled flour off of the counter.
"You think tonight went okay?" He asks, nervous eyes flicking to where your mother and Sister are fussing over your niece.
You lean across, lips pressed to the cracked egg white smudged across his cheek, "More than. They love you."
Your boyfriend breathes out in relief, "Thank god, because I have no idea how to make cookies and I need them to already like me when they taste them, in case they fail."
A startled laugh tumbles out of your lips and Sirius follows. Your Sirius, loudest laugh in the room, the man with the biggest heart you've ever known - even if it's bruised and battered.
"I'm sure it'll be fine, babe."
Sirius tsks, "You say that now, let's just wait and see if I give anyone salmonella."

A/N: Don’t mind the letter in the gif. It’s related to any Harry Potter movie, but it is relevant to the story as most of my gifs in my docs are.
I’m so glad i finally got around to writing this. I do plan on finishing this, but if my ADHD gets in the way, just remind me.
Also, this is sort of a intro chapter. It’s not as juicy as the main story, but I promise I’m working on the next chapter.
Tumblr media
I remembered the first day of my sixth year perfectly. It was the day I first lost my best friend.
Cedric and I exited the Hogwarts Express and we made our way to the thestral-pulled carriages that would take us to Hogwarts. We were accompanied by three other Hufflepuffs who all took turns occasionally sending me mean glares. I didn’t know if it was because I was a Slytherin, or if it was because the man once accused of ratting out his best friend to the Dark Lord was my father. He was recently proven innocent, but some still believe that my father was in fact guilty.
I decided to ignore them and keep my attention on the boy next to me. “My father was acting so weird this morning,” Cedric said as we approached the carriages.
My mind wandered off from Cedric’s speech to gaze upon the mysterious creatures that were about to begin hauling us to the so-called “greatest” wizarding school in the world.
They were horses with a skeleton-like appearance. Their humongous wings looked as if they could cover the sky. And their sleek black appearance was what turned people off of them. Only those that witnessed death could see the magnificent beings. For me, it was my mother, who was taken by death eaters and then killed, for an unknown reason, in front of me. I thanked Merlin that they let me live.
My attention was brought back when my body slammed into one of the carriages. I heard snickering from the Hufflepuffs that Cedric kept in his company. I held myself in pain as a hand reached down for mine.
Cedric sat on the edge of the carriage, offering to help me up. I looked up to see the soft smile the boy offered as I stared into his blueish gray eyes. I accepted Cedric’s hand. I was lifted into the carriage.
When I was completely in the carriage, I couldn’t help but look at the only space left to sit. It was between Cedric and another Hufflepuff. Though I was fine sitting alongside Cedric, I didn’t feel like sitting the entire trip next to his friends, who have yet to say a nice thing to me since the Hogwarts Express.
I failed to notice Cedric watching me as I gazed at the spot with uncertainty. Cedric scooted closer to his friends so that he would sit where I would’ve sat and I could sit where he once sat.
“Staring at the carriages again, Black?” One of the female Hufflepuffs said, mocking me for not paying attention. “You would think that seeing the same old carriages would turn into a bore, but not for Y/N Black.”
“Yeah, why are you so keen on looking at those carriages? They’re nothing special.” this time a male spoke with an added snicker.
I couldn’t help but roll my eyes at the fact that they mock me, but only I, out of this whole carriage could witness such beauty.
“What’s got you looking so smug?” I look up at the Hufflepuff, keeping the smirk on my lips. I shake my head and look back down. “No. What’s with the look? You know something I don’t? Feel free to share with the class.”
I continued to shake my head at the boy in front of me. “Just leave her alone,” Cedric sighed, giving the boy a stern look. The Hufflepuff clenched his jaw as he looked away from me, trying not to say anything else.
For the rest of the ride no one else spoke to me. The other Hufflepuffs broke off into their own group and talked, while Cedric and I sat quietly. I assumed they were talking about me, because every now and then, one of them would look over towards me either with a glare or a soft snicker. I felt Cedric’s hand hold mine with a firm grip when he began to notice this also. I honestly didn’t mind them talking about me, but the feeling of Cedric’s hand on mine felt comforting.
Tumblr media
When we got to Hogwarts, we all crowded into the Great Hall for dinner. The tables were set with table cloths that matched the houses to the tables, and plates and proper silverware for those who sat at the tables.
Because it was the beginning of the year, I was forced to sit at the Slytherin table. I hated being a Slytherin. The whole house was filled to the brim with rich pricks who believed that they were entitled to everything. I wished I was a Gryffindor like my father, or a Hufflepuff, so I could talk to the only person who understood me.
Before dinner, Dumbledor gave his beginning of the year speech, but that wasn’t all. He then began to speak about the Triwizard tournament, in which we would welcome two schools this year.
The first school welcomed was the Beauxbaton Academy of Magic, which was a wizarding school in France. When they entered, they walked with their heads held high and with straight posture. As they got closer, they would gracefully lean toward each side of the room, flaunting their beauty before moving into a slight sprint, releasing butterflies.
When they sat down, the second school, the Durmstrang Institute for Magical Learning, entered with a group of students showing off their fierce moves. They slammed their sticks into the ground, causing the floor to crack beneath them. I watched the boy’s with a look mixed with astonishment and surprise.
I will say that I was greatly disappointed in our presentation to the other schools. We didn’t have any Veela magic or flaming sticks that damaged the floor. No, we had a song. The song alone was enough to be embarrassing, but we also learned that several students were not natural singers. I noticed Draco, who sat some seats away from me, was not impressed. In fact, he was rather irritated by the number. That made me chuckle a little, knowing that he was annoyed.
So much for being the “greatest wizarding school in the world.”
Tumblr media
After dinner, we all headed back to our common rooms, the place that I was most at discomfort. The areas of the Slytherin house were marvelous. They were characterized by such beautiful interior design. The students on the other hand did not have as good of luck in that category.
When I’m in here, I would mostly stick to myself and the giant squid that hung around the window. It had such a calming effect, until a first-year would get curious and tap on the glass. The first thing you learn as a Slytherin is- scratch that the second thing you learn as a Slytherin is don’t tap on the glass, because if do then-
Boom!
A giant squid tentacle smashed the window. Everyone in the room stopped to watch. Older students weren’t very fazed, they just gave the first year a mean glare before going back to whatever they were doing. Younger students jumped in their spots, and some watched the tentacle in fright. I don’t know why it was so amusing to watch children get scared. Maybe it was because they were warned, but they still decided to do it anyway. Karma’s a bitch.
The first-year slowly backed out of the emerald green armchair, removing his knees from the cushion. The giant squid retracted his tentacles, and the young Slytherin ran away, probably peeing his pants. I shook my head at the young boy. He was curious, as most children should. He believed the squid to be an urban legend, as most do, but they never attempted to tap the glass. I applauded his bravery, in a way.
Instead of going to the pair of armchairs, like I normally do, I realized I forgot that I placed my book back in my luggage, before getting off the train, so I made a b-line for the girl’s dormitory.
As I walked through the halls of the girl’s dorms, I noticed girls also walking to and from the common rooms. Some walked alone, not speaking a word, while others walked alongside each other, in small groups. Every girl I saw in the halls walked with such elegance.
They flowed through the halls much like the Beauxbaton students did, but it was slightly different. The Beauxbaton students flowed as if they were on a cloud. They moved with a form of elegance that one would appreciate. You could tell the Slytherin girls were rich by how they flowed. They had an elegance that said “I am better than you. Now, get out of my way.” It disgusted me.
I continue to ask myself why the sorting hat chose me to continue the legacy of my ancestors. Why couldn’t I be like my father, who drifted from his family, and found happiness within his chosen path. I felt like an outcast.

I finally made it to my dorm. When I opened the large door, I was stunned by the large room. The room still carried four canopy beds with our trunks at the end, but everything in the room was bigger and nicer than it was the year before. The room was more spacious. Each girl got their own corner of the room, and since I arrived first, I got to choose first.
I body flopped onto the bed closest to the window, showing all the sea life surrounding it. I moved towards the window and gave it a soft tap. A few seconds later, a large eye covered the window. A wide smile appeared on my face as I attempted to hug the window. “Hello, old friend,” I said to the squid. I didn’t know if it could hear me, but what’s the harm in acknowledging it.
The dorm room opened, and suddenly the room was filled with chatter. The giant squid swam away in fright. Before I could do anything they had already seen me. “Look, it seems Black is best friends with the window. I guess it’s good to make imaginary friends with a girl like her,” Samantha Coolridge laughed. Her friends joined in, laughing alongside her before they quietly argued over who would lay in the bed closest to me.
I slowly moved away from the window, acting as if their words didn’t faze me, but they did. For six years, I’ve been forced to share a room with these three girls, and all six years have been hell. Some would even say Samantha was worse than Draco.
Moving towards my trunk, I quickly opened it and grabbed my book and headed out to the common room. I sat down in the arm chairs and stood into space. My book rested against my side. I couldn’t help the negative thoughts that ran through my head as I replayed my entire day.
“I’m alone,” I mumbled to myself.
As if on que, one of the Slytherin prefects called out my name. “Black? Is there a Y/N Black in here?” I flew out of the chair, forgetting my book, and made my way over to them.
“Here,” the prefect said with a snare, handing me a letter. “It’s from your Hufflepuff boyfriend.” They rolled their eyes and walked away from me.
I walked back over to the armchair where my book rested and opened the envelope. I pulled out a folded piece of paper. Unfolding the paper, I began to read:
“Y/N,
Meet me at our spot around midnight. I should’ve finished my rounds by then, but if not, wait for me. I shouldn’t be too long. I have important news to share.
-Your One And Only, Cedric Diggory”
I feel my cheeks warm up at the way he ended the letter. And the fact that he had news intrigued me. I sat the letter in the back of my book so I wouldn’t forget, and continued to read my book.
I can’t wait to escape from here.

A/N: I’m sorry there is not as much Cedric, but there will be in the next chapter.🤭 Plus, we may get a bit of Sirius action also. 。゚•┈୨♡୧┈• 。゚
