“Sirius!” Lily exclaims. “We were looking for you.”

“Oh?” He presses a quick kiss to her cheek before bending down to pick Harry up, who immediately cuddles into his arms with a tired sigh. Poor baby, must’ve been exhausted by all the excitement at the beach.

“Yeah, regarding tonight—“ Sirius gulped quietly at the way she said that “—Your room is a bit…messy, I’m sorry. We were reorganising and well, y’know how it goes…”

She shrugs apologetically but all Sirius can think about is how she called it ‘his room’. Not the guest room, not the spare, but his room. Sirius’. He once again pushes past the mushy feelings that rise in him at that little distinction.

“Oh, it’s—it’s fine, I can just take the couch, no problem.” Even if his feet tend to hang off the end, and the edges are a bit lumpy, it’s fine. He resolutely doesn’t think about his comfortable Alaskan King at home.

“Of course you can’t!” Lily scowls at him. “We’re not gonna put you in a couch in your own house, Sirius.”

There it was again, the reference to him belonging here. It was a bit presumptuous, slightly possessive but Sirius was a dog at heart, he was never going to turn down ownership.

“Er—the nursery, then?” he asks, confused.

“What, crammed up in Harry’s crib beside him?” she says with a scoff, “Don’t be silly.”

Sirius blinks. “Where am I sleeping then?”

“With us, of course.” He jumps at the voice booming from behind him, clutching Harry tighter to his chest, whirling around to find James munching on a carrot.

“Where did you come from?” Sirius mutters under his breath before straightening up and saying, louder, “And what do you mean with you?”

“Well, like Lily said,” and here he sends a meaningful, entirely undecipherable, look towards his wife who…blushes? “Your room’s temporarily indisposed, the couch isn’t even an option—don’t give me that look, you barely fit on the thing—and the floor is gonna mess up your back worse than it is.”

“Oi!”

“So, our room it is.”

Right. Of course. Because that’s the obvious conclusions. How could he say no?

(Again, he can’t so he doesn’t)

It’s twenty minutes later, after Harry’s been put to bed, thoroughly kissed by his parents and godfather, after James is done with his nighttime turmeric milk and Lily’s put her hair up into braids and Sirius has taken out all his rings and chains and bracelets—that’s when he’s stumped by yet another problem.

How, exactly, are they going to sleep in one bed?

“We’re just going to expand it a little, Pads, don’t worry,” James says, supremely unconcerned.

He goggles at that, staring at the casual wand work. A part of him wonders why this is the extent of magic they’re using to solve this problem—James can conjure a bed Silenced, with his eyes closed—but promptly decides to not dwell on that for everyone’s sake.

Dabi is surprisingly a lightweight. You honestly would’ve never figured by looking at him, but as you think back on it, you’ve never really seen him drink a lot. Not when there were celebratory parties, or when things didn’t go right for him. It’s why you’re so shocked when you convince two shots into his system, why he suddenly looks so loose, why his grin splits so wide.

He’s a clinger, you’ve also learned as you’ve started observing the blue eyed man where he shoves his face into the crook of your neck. His body bends over almost uncomfortably to fit into the position, and you can’t help but flinch a little when his damp breath blows a quiet little raspberry on your flesh.

omg wait my favorite thought is of you not even necessarily being a heavyweight, you can just handle your liquor a little better than anyone expects. you love to knock back drink after drink, convince Dabi into some stupid competition that he falls for because he’s such a little nerd and secretly wants to impress you. he does it thinking you’ll be the drunk one first, the one hanging off of his arm and hopefully his dick by the end of the night.

it belatedly shocks him when it’s the exact opposite. when he’s slurring a little and smiling at you, when you watch him through low eyes with a wide grin, when he wraps himself around you like a python, when you shake his face gently as you squish his cheeks together in hand. he’s just so utterly obsessed with you in these moments, and maybe it’s the liquor in him, but he knows his lowered inhibitions are only bringing forth the feelings he’s always suppressed.

drunk sex with Dabi where he’s the one too loose limbed and limp and weak. he flops onto bed like some rag doll with his arms and legs spread wide, but he musters up enough strength to release the heavy weight of his cock from its confinements. doesn’t do much besides lift his head from the pillows with a point to his crotch and a lazy grin, an announcement of, go ahead and hop on already before he’s flopping back down again, ready to lay back and get fucked like how he knows he deserves.

It's a bit funny that to parts of my circles I'm 'the fandom one'/'the fanfic one'/'the shipping one' as the person they know most prominently into such things

because as much as i love writing my fics and shipping my ships my interest in both of those things is, I think, very narrow and specific compared to most people who are into them? due to my habits being like. very particular

#i think some ppl think of me as ahh my buddy who is always reading fanfic and i'm like. look. i would LIKE to be that. but i'm not #it's comically difficult to get me to sit down and read a new fanfic. for no discernable reason #the fandoms i like to read for don't even have big fic scenes but i've still checked out such a narrow portion of them #(and these fandoms are like. just a few. leaving aside MiA's dead tag. as a Rebecca enjoyer I would really like to see some options in book 4 digging into how little has changed if your detective is seeking or ambivalent to reconciliation, or the absence of apologies. As well as detectives who aren’t seeking/rejecting reconciliation but Rebecca cannot let go of anyways. Especially since we’ve now had one of the few times, according to the detective’s memory, Rebecca explicitly expressing regret for her actions.

#I kind of disagree w most people that the narrative is pushing you into forgiving her #kind of. #I think wayhaven’s writing style is intentionally pretty transparent to the reader on character motivations #even when they/the detective aren’t explicitly aware #there’s enough context clues to get an idea of what’s sitting underneath the surface #so I think the emphasis on Rebecca’s grief around her kid is more about telling the audience that her feelings on these matters ARE sincere #in nature. at least to how Rebecca interprets then #but what id enjoy seeing some more of in book 4 is the choice to pull open the conflicts happening here #Rebecca runs away AND engages w the detective irrespective of their wishes because she simultaneously cannot accept this relationship as #broken beyond repair AND is unable to acknowledge to herself the core issue to their relationship #the job was an obstacle yeah but the true conflict to their relationship is Rebecca’s avoidance w dealing w grief #and it results in what we see in either relationship state #I can’t let you go/I can’t believe it’s broken beyond repair <- can’t acknowledge what I chose to do #I can’t break down these walls/won’t spend time with you <- won’t acknowledge I ran away from you out of grief #and I think the next step narrative wise now that the tone to their relationship has gone through the big revalation arcs #is to start unpacking the WHYS #allow the detective to have those hard conversations and deal w whether Rebecca runs away from those or not #tunes talks wayhaven

Hmm well at least in the past decade, my big worldbuilding projects have mostly come down to three-ish stories: Other Side of the Gun, Adventures of Gæilo and Ethon, and Just Desserts

OSG was an Invader ZiM fancomic concept I started around 2013 to justify every single Irken headcanon I ever came up with lol - I never finished it, or even really started it, but I put a lot of time and energy into its roughs back in the day :)

One that you can see over here is all the work I did for my DnD campaign, AGE! (Though its sideblog hasn't been updated in a while haha - the AGE tag over here works just as well) I basically homebrewed a pantheon and had an absolute blast designing all the gods and their forms before they became gods and even things like architectural differences in their churches and the BBEG and his motivations and just ah <3 Such a fun project :D

It also laid the groundwork for things like Pokemon Homestyle, specifically all my papercrafts! You can really see how I leveled up haha

And my latest has been Just Desserts! Even with less time under its belt, it's still pretty expansive, as evidenced by my icon and theme and the backlog lol, and it's the one I have the most AUs of! (Though OSG does come close actually haha) There are still some thorny details I'm trying to iron out, especially to do with the magic system, but all the characters and creatures and the fact that I made my own fighting minigame, ah, pleased! I've never been so happy with a sona before Charm! ♥ From the very beginning it's been so fun to work on and I still want to improve!

It feels like it just needs a few more pushes! #Then again that's what I said about the TVAU outfits too haha ♪ Maybe it would all fall into place! #To the base question tho: I never know how to qualify ''implemented'' - does just putting it out there as a concept count? #Writing a story? Making a comic? A series? Polished? Completed?? Man, I really miss when Mihoyo would actually let characters be in the wrong. It’s just kinda weird to me how a game that quotes philosophy as much as Honkai does also refuses to explore moral complexities and contradictions.

#honkai impact #and to no ones surprise I am ranting about my hatred of Dr. MEI’s writing #this time specifically about her relationship with Kevin #I feel like early on Mihoyo actually did write their relationship as toxic #given the sheer amount of comments about how Kevin is just her follower and not an equal #but recently there’s been a shift where characters keep talking about how cute they are or how Kevin is so luck to have her #and I just sit there going ‘uhh… no 🤨🤨🤨?’ #Mihoyo- characters can love each other and still be bad for each other #people can hurt those they love #people can fall out of love #Kevin and Dr. MEI don’t share moral values or common interest (outside of saving the world) #the only reason I can think of for them to be together is because ‘I’m doing this for the person I love’ is (1/2) #the only way they can justify their actions to themselves (2/2) #so they just double down on the whole ‘they’re in love’ thing #not that Mihoyo is interested in portraying them like that #outside of shipping- this also applies to project stigma. Hare. Aponia. and Elysia #if litteraly no one involved in making project stigma wants the project to be completed and are actively setting things up #for the good guys to stop them #then why are they even going through with the project in the first place??? #if Mihoyo is so blatantly disinterested in portraying Kevin as a villain then why not just have him switch sides during the moon arc #he has no game as a villain anyways #Kiana and Bronya have barely even interacted with him #on the project itself- it actually does set up a moral conundrum that Mihoyo just refuses to explore #come on Mihoyo- give us the pov of the people who think the endless dream is better than death. but you won’t. no balls #Hare and Aponia have the exact same issue where I just think the twist is less interesting then their previously stated motivations #And oh boy… Elysia… #her sacrifice meant that she took a warrior of Kevin’s caliber out of the fight against finality #she also canonically obstructed moth operations by helping with Sakura’s break in #which inadvertently lead to another mantis being taken out before the finality fight #but god forbid we acknowledge that Ely’s actions might have had some negative impacts
