The junior quartet + a-qing is probs the most chaotic group to have ever studied at Cloud Recesses the cultivation world has ever seen and they prob even beat the trio of WWX, JC, and NHS

It is! And when you take into account that Jingyi lives there and knows every inch of the Cloud Recesses, his and Zizhen’s bad ideas have absolutely no reason not to come to fruition--especially when they have Sizhui’s brain at their disposal, since he’s too weak to say no to them. And then when you consider that Zewu-jun loves his daughter and his nephews (LSZ and LJY) and his adopted nephew through JGY (Jin Ling) and his future son-in-law (Ouyang Zizhen) and would rather let them set the world on fire than punish even one of them, you get a more chaotic squad than the one-brain cell trio ever were.

Some random disciple: “hey won’t Zewu-jun and Hanguang-jun get mad if you--”

Lan Jingyi, probably: “Zewu-jun carried me around on his back when I was a baby and Hanguang-jun let me live after I spit soup onto his robes and then asked him for candy, so I literally have nothing to be scared of??? it’s time to be as Wild as possible”

Zizhen: “But isn’t that...all the time?”

Lan Xichen, if anyone asks for his opinion: “:D”

How I hc the junior dynamics (w/ oyzz cause we love and support all juniors & w/ Jin Chan, the one junior I don’t love and support):

Jin Ling & Jingyi are obviously just bickering and banter and intense love-hate. Be gay; do crime. But also do crime and blame it on the straights. Extreme chaos when left alone, almost enough to rival WWX. Almost.

We all know that Lan Sizhui & Lan Jingyi are just... childhood bffs since quite literally forever. They’re never apart. Seriously, it’s almost a problem. Teamwork makes the dreamwork, and these two are above the level of reading each others’ minds. Of course, all the juniors have their own secret code. It’s great.

Ouyang Zizhen & Lan Jingyi: fanboying over romcoms and talking crushes and romance books and being amazing besties and scsisfajvsjaag platonic otp. Oyzz made the Jin Ling Protection Squad as a joke and Ljy took it and ran with it. Sufficiently chaotic when left alone.

Lan Sizhui & Ouyang Zizhen playing hot potato with the 4some’s shared brain cell. Also collective facepalms. They work together to stop the other half of the junior quartet from killing each other. They are very tired.

Lan Sizhui & Jin Ling probably talk about future sect leader responsibilities (assuming lxc never has a kid & lsz is chosen to be the next lan sect leader). JL confides in LSZ about a lotta stuff, cause Sizhui gives great advice.

Jin Ling & Ouyang Zizhen would be great friends. Just. Yes. Oyzz is pretty good at calming JL down (he’s gotten used to it after a while) and I kinda hc oyzz as being one of his first friends (‘sides the Lans). Since the Ouyang sect & Jiang sect were aligned (iirc), I think jl & oyzz would have meet through jc or something in their youth.

Bonus: everyone w/ Jin Chan

Jin Chan thinks of oyzz as unimportant since he’s not from a big sect (which is something oyzz feels a bit self consious about but THIS BOI IS PROUD OF HIS SECT) and makes fun of him. Oyzz doesn’t really let it bother him. once he & the other juniors establish a very good friendship, he’s just happy enough to have friends. Jin Chan is jelly, but now he has other people to bully.

Jin Ling hates him with a passion; Jin Chan doesn’t know how to express his feelings of like properly and someone needs to teach these boys proper feelings. Even if he ever confessed, JL would reject plus ultra.

Lan Jingyi almost hates Jin Chan more than JL. It’s a very argued-about topic. Jin Chan focuses on verbally attacking LSZ at first (and Sizhui is unfazed and brushes it off) but Jingyi has attempted to fight him multiple times. Bc no one can insult LSZ. No one. Not JL, not LJY, not OYZZ, not even LQR. [Would LJY fight LQR for insulting LSZ? I ask that as if all of the junior quartet (excluding lsz) wouldn’t.]

Lan Sizhui doesn’t like him at all, but he doesn’t say anything because ew conflict. He really doesn’t wanna start trouble (especially cause his dad is lwj and lan standards) but when Jin Chan insulted oyzz or jl one too many times... he doesn’t go batshit crazy, but well... wwx is his dad too, just saying.
