Minors entered the sk8 race, and Reki said anything goes so that’s the consent. Adam can touch anyone.

I get that, even though it’s still weird, a different topic for another time…

What I was wondering specifically is why everyone in-universe is only worried about Adam hospitalizing people and not yknow him literally grooming Langa (on AND off the track). It’s not technically against the rules of S what he’s doing (he made the rules I don’t think there’s a way he can break them), but The GangTM still doesn’t like him because he’s an awful person. The only thing is for some reason when they talk about how they don’t like him, they ALMOST completely overlook Adam’s weird innuendos toward teenagers (except for Miya that one time cause he’s just cool like that).

There probably isn’t a real answer to this question out there yet, but maybe hopefully the creators will address it someway (hopefully put Adam in intensive THERAPY) and not have Adam just do that and everyone think it’s normal (it is not). Though if the underaged characters aren’t allowed to drink, I’d assume the rules apply to all minor-protecting laws.

Do you know why I like MCs so much?

Do you know why I especially love weaker/late-bloomer MCs so much? Why they're my favorite characters?

Cause it hurts.

It hurts to not be able to get into a the top echleons and being recognized and loved by all but see so many of your peers, including peers you belived you were behind you at one point, getting there instead. It hurts being underestimated and being unable to live up to the smidgen of potential you think you have. It hurts that no matter how hard you try, there will always be someone ahead of you and taking the spotlight you deserve.

It hurts being a Reki.

It hurts being a Takemichi (pre-final battle arc).

It hurts being a Sung Jinwoo (pre-system).

It hurts being an Asta (pre-Anti-Magic).

It hurts trying so hard to be the best while knowing you'll have to put in ages of work to be even a fraction of the "best" other characters have had since the very beginning.

And it hurts that (fourth wall break incoming) you've got half the comment section saying shit like "Dam worst MC fr" "Annoying af" "Can't they just learn instantly?" at you, and you can't do anything about it.

But I mean hey. They had their moments of stardom at the end. And hopefully, so will I. I just haven't gotten to that arc yet.

what I also don't understand, going slightly back to thoughts I had watching blue period, is calling langa and kageyama prodigies. I genuinely don't get it

langa has been snowboarding since he was able to stand, so obviously his physical data will be great, and because of that, he can adapt quickly to any other sport, especially the one that is pretty similar. he didn't start from zero, like, for example, reki (as far as we know) and even reki is amazing. honestly, whatever prodigy means out of two, from what we know, he might be more worth this title, although I don't think we know that much about his past before skating

and kageyama couldn't let go of volleyball ball since before he could even move on his own. This sport it his life, quite literally in his case, since the very beginning till now and thus he has focused all his life to it, to perfecting his skills and has put as much or even more work into volleyball than the same oikawa who we know is a very hard worker and also who's blinded by jealousy for people on who he put prodigy lables while being just as good

there's this saying that talent is 99% hard work and 1% actual talent/luck (don't know how this saying is in English and i won't look it up) and I feel like often times that gets forgotten in conflicts like these. both in media and real life (I'm also guilty of that)

before i start my rant id like to say thank you for asking me about sk8 i LOVE SK8 and im a very quiet fan over here about it but GAHHHH i adore sk8

Langa is probably my favorite, I adore Langa. I think he's probably the one I relate to most. I have a friend who I've called "my reki" before and we've matched sk8 pfps and idk it was cute and fun (i adore them sm) and idk Langa is just so sweet. I really really need to rewatch sk8 soon, I'm so excited for s2 and I just can't wait to see more of my boys. Anyways LANGA. I adore his design, he's a silly canadian bean who's also just so damn cute. I love his relationship with his mom I want that relationship with my mom they're just so wholesome. I just want them to be happy I dunno

I did make a joke earlier about how “i can’t believe I related to a depression arc especially reki’s” but fr 13 year old me beat myself UP over tennis bro. TENNIS of all things, I know!! I got over it eventually (though I still get mad about it when I play it for too long, I need breaks), and I will try not to dump all the deets (but I probably will), but, basically, like reki, I dragged my friend in to play tennis and they surpassed me within a month or two.

My thing wasn’t so much of an “I’m upset this one time” but more like a recurring thing that lasted multiple years before my best friend surpassed me. Everyone would move above me in the ranks, and of course I didn’t understand it since I had played tennis since I could walk (quite literally). But like, the truth is some people are just built differently. They’re just born with natural athleticism. There’s absolutely nothing you can do about it, and that’s ok. It took me so long to realize that that’s just ok. And you can just have fun playing a sport and not worry about how you compare to others or if you even win! Because ultimately you do it for entertainment and fun!!!

During this time I also realized that competition really turns me off. Like once I know that I’m competing, all my enthusiasm runs dry. I have no more want to win, I have no more want to play, I have no more want to participate. It drained the fun out of tennis. And while I kept trying to accept that tennis can just be fun, that I don’t have to worry about winning, my dear father the coach kept telling me you have to want to compete in order to actually be on the team. Yeah yeah, state championships whatever, but the coach, especially since he’s my DAD, should know that not everyone performs their best under the same circumstances!! And he should know since I told him I don’t like competing, that I’ll probably play better if I don’t force myself to compete!!!

I know competition is natural in sports, but it’s just not for me. I’ve tried BELIEVE ME I’ve tried. Sk8 was pretty cool in that I got to see basically the same thing I went through (it’s always cool when you get to see that). ngl tho, Reki looked like he came out stronger than I did. So, I’m gonna have a blast this next tennis season, since I know I’m not an athlete and I can’t compare myself to others, I can still work to be the best that I can possibly be and have fun with it >:D

Oh hello there.. enjoy one of my old rantings about why Langa is the way he is now because of Reki..🥰

Langa did have potential. IN WHICH REKI PERFECTLY USED AND SHAPED LANGA INTO WHO HE IS NOW!!! I hate how the people in sk8 r like “blehh!! Langa is so much better at skating than Reki and he barely started hahahahahah!” LIKE STFU. BE FOR REAL W ME RN. He was only able to adapt quickly because since he’s been snowboarding since he was two, he used similarities in skating and snowboarding WHICH WAS WHAT MADE HIM SO ADVANCED IN IT!!!! The amazing thing is with Rekis AMAZING board making skills he was able to make a board SPECIALIZED for Langa with the wheels which allowed him to spin and turn more freely then the foot clips for him to keep him stabilized!!! Without that fancy ass board with cool specialized shit to fit Langa he wouldn’t even be able to stand on a board without falling (Although perhaps he could with a lot more practice and time, but the foot clips were an easier alternative)

I’m not blaming him tho, if you’ve been snowboarding for almost your whole life its hard to get used to not having something keepin u strapped in.. WELL atleast ur amazing boyfie helped u out and gave u those toe clips😜😜

I also found one about how much I hate proshippers and Adam stans/defenders LMFAOO. Might post that one too if I wanna 😄

This is gonna be a long journey but stay with me.

I need more shows like supernatural, hannibal, the devil judge, our flag means death, the end of the f***ing world, and I assume killing eve (I haven't watched it yet but its over so I can binge it so I'll start it soon). Shows that have big relationships that focus on Character A and Character B.

Shows that have their main character travel down a pipeline that goes from…

It doesn't always end in smiles, but there is always a point where the main character recognizes that they are no longer alone because they all have a deep connection with their villain or the person that you thought might be the main antagonist in the series.

Character A is like emotionally aware, empathetic, and their emotions are like forces of nature to the people around them and they think no one understands them. They are viewed as kinda fragile and easily influenced by the people around them and they are familiar with being used either by the people that love them, or some greater system that they’re a part of. It is a point constantly stated that the person is just soft and breakable because their heart is too big. And they can’t help but think “I am alone. No one understands me.”

Then they meet Character B, that (sometimes the more overtly queer coded of the two) mainiac that changes everything and destroys everything that they touch in the best way possible. They bring so much baggage because they are such a special character and they never ever think they could be important to someone in the ways that matter because, just like with Character A, they have been told something is fundamentally wrong with them. So they gather their courage to damn the system and the consequences and pride themselves on doing things the wrong way.

The characters are both better off for knowing each other because Character B starts showing great acts of grace, mercy, and beauty because that's what they've learned from A. And Character A starts bending rather than breaking and going on physical, emotional, and psychological rampages but you're never sure if it's for B or for the greater good of everyone trapped within the system.
