Sk8 and matcha blossom literally held my mental sanity during the entirety of the second half of 2021 so yes you could say I have seen it 👍

Same but first half of 2021 for me. Well i was also sick every saturday waiting for the episodes and then didnt move on from the show for months until summer (when i got into blue period and i7 and then later... well I think you can imagine what other media took over my life in the second half of 2021 after this...) When im working on my graduation essay now im haunted by this one word doc from that time where i was analyzing sk8 characters through the lens of the 8 greek types of love. I think i was definitely looking too hard into it But it brought me so much joy so i dont care. The impact cherry blossom has had on 19 year old me...wait i still have this on my wall. the proto blorbo before the term blorbo even existed

winter 2024 first impressions: bucchigiri?!

UTSUMI HIROKO (SK8 ORIGINAL CREATOR) IS BACK BABEY

this one made it onto my list mostly for her (bit for nozu also) and i didn't know much going in. i remember seeing the word "genie" in the summary when i skimmed it and was like oh fascinating. i would like to know absolutely nothing else and be completely surprised

and it's been an excellent surprise so far! first ep was hella fun, i imagine this one won't have as much mainstream potential as other utsumi hiroko stuff like sk8 and free but i'm certainly invested

the premise is pretty interesting but imo this is one of those series that'll really only thrive if its characters are interesting, and so far they definitely are to me. very interested in learning more about arajin and matakara's past (seems to me like arajin left him to get beat up once and is still haunted by not being able to save him? but maybe there'll be some other twist there, looking forward to finding out)

character designs are riiight up my alley, i'm especially eyes at the green one and that blue megane one that (hopefully?) we'll see more of later. also v charmed by that little bitch zabu but mostly for nozu reasons lol

in all honesty i was just normal about sk8. it was good! but. normal good to me. already feeling more [vibrates intensely] about this one

tl;dr it's off the wall in exactly the way i like, will be looking forward to THESE FREAKS SATURDAY for the rest of the season
