cindereki full fan animatic came out the other day and it's amazing and it's making me think about how a key part of the story of cinderella is how she fell in love with the prince without knowing who he was, and she wasn't with him at the ball bc she was after his title, and how the audio drama captured that detail bc it's true of the original show as well; out of the main friend group, reki is the only one who became friends with langa before everyone saw him pull his amazing win against shadow. it's not to say that they wouldn't like him if not for his talents, but reki is the only one who connected with him as a person first and his skating second. it reminds me of the Free! crew line about how everyone on the show is in love with Haru's swimming, except Makoto, who is in love with Haru's heart. they would all still love haru without his swimming, but that's what drew them all to him initially. everyone except Makoto, who has been there since the beginning, when there was nothing to fall in love with except for haru himself...

Minors entered the sk8 race, and Reki said anything goes so that’s the consent. Adam can touch anyone.

I get that, even though it’s still weird, a different topic for another time…

What I was wondering specifically is why everyone in-universe is only worried about Adam hospitalizing people and not yknow him literally grooming Langa (on AND off the track). It’s not technically against the rules of S what he’s doing (he made the rules I don’t think there’s a way he can break them), but The GangTM still doesn’t like him because he’s an awful person. The only thing is for some reason when they talk about how they don’t like him, they ALMOST completely overlook Adam’s weird innuendos toward teenagers (except for Miya that one time cause he’s just cool like that).

There probably isn’t a real answer to this question out there yet, but maybe hopefully the creators will address it someway (hopefully put Adam in intensive THERAPY) and not have Adam just do that and everyone think it’s normal (it is not). Though if the underaged characters aren’t allowed to drink, I’d assume the rules apply to all minor-protecting laws.

2022 - My Year in Fic

I was tagged by the wonderful @danpuff-ao3 and woah...looking over what I've done this year, I still can't believe it. Because 2022!!!! It should be known in my journals as the year I came back to writing fanfics. I've written so many after years of writer's block and, while most are drabbles and short one-shots, I am insanely proud of what I accomplished. My eternal thanks to the Harry Potter fandom, the SK8 fandom, and all the prompt communities on Dreamwidth. Truly, they are the superstars for providing the sparks. The first step is getting over the hurtle and smashing that writer's block, and the next (I hope) is breaking that 10k mark for one of my fics. *crossing fingers*

I won't list all the fics I've written this year. That's insane. My AO3 currently has 125 works published for 2022 and I still have XXX more to upload before the week is out. But here are some I'm insanely proud of and maybe, hopefully, crossing fingers you find enjoyment in them too.
