A self love night time routine 🌙🧸🪞🤍✨
Your night time routine is all about dedicating time to yourself. Your routine should be tailored to what makes YOU feel relaxed, loved, and cared for. You can add or modify any of these steps to make it perfect for you.
Cleanse & skin care routine. This isn’t just about hygiene. Cleansing your skin can also cleanse the day's stresses away. Remove makeup (if you wear it). Use a gentle cleanser. Apply toner, serums, or treatments if you use them. Moisturize to keep your skin hydrated.
Spend a few minutes decluttering and organizing so you can go to sleep with a clear mind.
Prepare for tomorrow. Pick out your clothes, prepare your lunch and create your to do list so you wake up with a plan of action.
Set aside electronics, especially those that might interrupt your relaxation (phones, laptops). Put them on the other side of the room, or another room to avoid distractions.
Spend a few minutes journaling or meditating on your day. Write down three things you're grateful for as well as your achievements or progress.
Make a herbal tea or warm milk. Stay away from caffeine, they will interfere with your sleep.
If you enjoy baths, now might be the time to have one with calming salts or essential oils. If you prefer showers, use this time to enjoy the sensation of the water, rather than rushing through it.
Spend a few minutes practicing deep breathing, grounding exercises, or meditation to calm your mind.
Choose a book, avoid anything too stimulating or stress inducing.
Stand in front of a mirror and speak kind words to yourself. Use positive affirmations that resonate with you, like “I am worthy of love and happiness” or “I did my best today, and that's enough.”
Dress in comfortable nightwear, ensuring your sleeping environment is cozy. This could be clean sheets and a comfortable pillow.
Dim the lights, play calming music or nature sounds, or use an essential oil diffuser with lavender or chamomile.
Before closing your eyes to sleep, visualize a peaceful scene or a memory that makes you happy.
As you lie in bed, silently express gratitude for the day. Set a positive intention for the next day.
Get full night's sleep. Make sure you’re getting 7-9 hours depending on your personal needs.

Sunscreen 101
Tumblr media
One of the most important products in your skincare arsenal is sunscreen. Sunscreen actually has many benefits and there are plenty of sunscreens that are lightweight and will make your skin look and feel good. Here is a guide to sunscreen to help you out with all of your sunscreen questions.
Benefits of Sunscreen
So what are the benefits of wearing sunscreen daily?
Sunscreen protects our skin not only from damaging UV rays that can cause skin cancer, but it can also prevent signs of aging and discoloration.
Chemical vs Mineral Sunscreen
There are two main types of sunscreen: chemical and mineral sunscreen. Chemical sunscreens use special chemical formulas that filter out the sun’s UV rays, while mineral sunscreens physically block out the sun’s UV rays by creating a physical barrier on the skin.
Which one is right for you?
Chemical sunscreens are lightweight, blend nicely into the skin, and do not leave a whitecast. So if this is a deal breaker for you, chemical sunscreens might be best for you.
Mineral sunscreens are very gentle and are a great option for people with acne-prone or sensitive skin, but unfortunately they can leave a whitecast or feel chalky on the skin. If you are concerned about long-term exposure to chemicals and have sensitive skin, mineral sunscreens might be a good fit for you.
Product Recommendations
Now that you have decided which type of sunscreen is right for your skin, let’s get into some sunscreen recommendations. Korean sunscreens are some of the best in the world. My current favorite is the Beauty of Joseon: Relief Sun Rice + Probiotics Sunscreen. This sunscreen is lightweight with no whitecast. It blends nicely and leaves my skin feeling smooth and soft. Here is the link: https://beautyofjoseon.com/products/relief-sun-rice-probiotics
Another great everyday sunscreen option is the Derma-B Everyday Sun Block SPF 50+ PA++++. It doesn’t leave a whitecast, it is incredibly hydrating, and it doesn’t feel sticky at all. A must for beginners who are interested in adding to their routine. Here is the link: https://www.yesstyle.com/en/derma-b-everyday-sun-block-200ml/info.html/pid.1092381819##productAnchor
Lastly, if you get tired of reapplying a cream sunscreen you can always try out a sunscreen stick like the Abib Sunstick Protection Bar. Reapplying sunscreen over makeup or just anytime throughout the day can be tricky, but this chemical sunscreen is really lightweight and applies perfectly over makeup. It is easy to reapply quickly throughout the day. Great for everyday! Here is the link: https://www.yesstyle.com/en/abib-quick-sunstick-protection-bar-22g/info.html/pid.1076585441##productAnchor
Key Takeaways
Sunscreen is an important part of your skincare routine. It can be overwhelming picking a sunscreen out of hundreds of products, but finding one basic sunscreen that works for your skin and incorporating it into your routine can make the biggest difference in your skin!

Simple Habits for Healthy Skin
A simple injection or a visit to the beautician is not enough to replace daily skin care. Everything that shows on our face is a symptom of a problem in our body. So let me remind you of a few tips for taking care of your body and your skin.
A normal person should drink 2.5 to 3 liters of water per day. Toxins are flushed out of the body by drinking water, and their accumulation causes skin rashes.
The skin heals twice as fast at night as it does during the day, but the peak healing time is between the second and fifth hours of sleep. Our skin pores need to "breathe" and renew themselves when we sleep. Cleanse your face thoroughly before going to bed and again the next morning. Sometimes, washing with water is not enough to clean the skin. So bathing is an effective way to rid the body of pollutants from within.
Beyond personal hygiene, make it a habit to walk at least 10,000 steps a day and eat a healthy, balanced diet. Good lifestyle habits lead to beautiful skin.
A thorough massage of the face and neck improves blood microcirculation and lymphatic drainage, which helps reduce edema; it also increases oxygen saturation of the tissues, which improves nutrition.
Replace your pillowcase with a natural silk one, which does not actively rub against the skin.
At least once a day, clean the shell of your phone with an antibacterial wipe, and make efforts to reduce stress for healthy skin and mind.
And remember, natural skin care solutions are safe and effective against aging, inflammation, and infection.

Embracing Wellness: Exploring the Synergy Between CBD and Self-Care
In an ever-demanding world, tending to our well-being through self-care has grown into a vital practice. Among the array of methods available, CBD (cannabidiol) has emerged as a promising aid to elevate our self-care rituals. This article delves into the realm of self-care and CBD, uncovering the potential of this natural element to harmonize with our pursuit of a healthier and more balanced lifestyle.
Understanding Self-Care
Self-care extends beyond mere indulgence and encompasses the conscious steps taken to nurture physical, emotional, and mental health. From sustaining a balanced diet and regular exercise to cultivating positive mental habits, it encompasses a spectrum of activities that contribute to an improved quality of life. It involves designating time for relaxation, introspection, and renewal.
The Role of CBD in Self-Care
CBD, a non-psychoactive derivative of the cannabis plant, has gained traction due to its potential therapeutic properties. Worth noting is that while CBD originates from cannabis, it lacks the psychoactive effects linked with THC. Instead, CBD interacts with the endocannabinoid system, regulating functions such as mood, pain perception, and sleep.
Managing Stress and Anxiety
CBD's reputed ability to alleviate stress and anxiety has garnered attention. By influencing mood-regulating brain receptors, CBD may mitigate symptoms of anxiety disorders. Incorporating CBD into self-care rituals could potentially provide a natural means of managing daily stressors and promoting tranquility.
Enhancing Sleep Quality
Restful sleep is a cornerstone of self-care. CBD's potential to improve sleep quality by addressing insomnia and sleep disturbances has been explored. Its calming effects may facilitate relaxation, contributing to a peaceful night's sleep.
Easing Pain
Whether it's chronic pain or exercise-induced soreness, CBD's anti-inflammatory properties could offer relief. By interacting with pain-perception receptors, CBD might help manage discomfort, contributing to an overall sense of well-being.
Revitalizing Skincare
Self-care extends to skincare, fostering a sense of well-being. CBD-infused skincare products, like creams and oils, are believed to possess anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties that promote healthier skin. The act of massaging these products can itself become a relaxing ritual.
Incorporating CBD into Your Self-Care Routine
Before integrating CBD into your self-care regimen, diligent research and consultation with healthcare professionals are essential, especially if underlying health conditions or medications are involved. Consider these steps:
Research Trusted Brands and Products
The CBD market offers an array of products, from oils to edibles. Seek reputable brands that provide third-party lab tests to ensure quality and potency.
Commence with Minimal Dosages
For CBD novices, starting with low doses and gradually adjusting allows you to assess its effects and find the right balance.
Prioritize Consistency
Consistency is pivotal in any self-care practice. Incorporate CBD into your routine and observe its impact on your overall well-being over time.
Harmonize with Other Self-Care Approaches
While CBD can amplify self-care, it isn't a universal solution. Pair it with practices such as meditation, exercise, and a balanced diet for holistic well-being.
In Conclusion
Self-care is a journey of self-nurturing, and CBD may prove to be an adjunct in this voyage. From stress relief and improved sleep to pain management and skincare, CBD's potential aligns seamlessly with self-care objectives. As you traverse the path toward comprehensive well-being, remember that self-care is about personalization—both in terms of practices and products. Prioritize your health and consult professionals when integrating new elements. With an informed approach, CBD can synergize with your quest for a more harmonious and enriching life.

Ceramides are definitely one of my favourite skincare ingredients. I have dry and sensitive skin, so ceramides work well to keep my skin moisturized and healthy, while also helping my skin barrier. If you’re looking for a good ceramide serum, I highly recommend the Cocokind Ceramide Barrier Serum.
I am not a professional. I’m just someone who loves skincare and wants to share my research and opinions.

GUT HEALTH: How it Affects Your body 🍽️🤍✨
Having a healthy gut is important because it plays a central role in the overall functioning of your body. The state of a healthy or unhealthy gut affects all of these things:
Digestion and Nutrient Absorption: The gut's main role is to break down food and absorb important nutrients, including vitamins and minerals. When the gut is healthy, it digests food effectively and maximizes nutrient absorption. When it is not, it can result in digestive issues such as bloating, gas, and diarrhea, as well as nutrient deficiencies.
Immune System Support: About 70% of our immune cells are located in the gut. A balanced gut supports a strong immune response, helping the body fend off illnesses and reduce the risk of infections.
Emotions and Mood: The gut and brain are intricately connected through the gut-brain axis. The gut produces many neurotransmitters, including serotonin, which regulates your mood. An imbalanced gut can influence mental health, leading to issues like anxiety, depression, and even cognitive impairments.
Hormonal Balance: The gut plays a role in the production and modulation of certain hormones. This can impact various bodily functions, from stress responses to reproductive health.
Weight Management: The gut microbiome can influence metabolism, appetite, and fat storage. An imbalanced gut can lead to weight gain and metabolic disorders.
Protection Against Chronic Diseases: Poor gut health has been linked to a higher risk of chronic diseases, including type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and certain types of cancer.
Detoxification: The gut plays a role in eliminating waste products and toxins from the body.
Inflammation Regulation: A healthy gut can help regulate inflammation in the body. Chronic inflammation, often resulting from an imbalanced gut is a root cause of many diseases.
Skin Health: There's a connection between gut health and skin conditions. Issues like acne, eczema, and rosacea can be influenced by the state of the gut. An unhealthy gut can lead to inflammation, which may manifest as skin issues.
Barrier Function: The gut lining acts as a barrier, preventing harmful substances from entering the bloodstream. A compromised gut lining, often referred to as "leaky gut," can allow toxins and pathogens to enter the bloodstream leading to various health issues.
Production of Vital Compounds: Your gut produces essential compounds, like short-chain fatty acids, which has a lot of positive effects on health from reducing inflammation to supporting brain function.
Sleep Function: The gut produces neurotransmitters and hormones that regulate sleep, such as serotonin and melatonin. An unhealthy gut can disrupt sleep patterns.

Slugging 101
Tumblr media
Photo from Pinterest @pngtree
Slugging is a skincare trend that has gone viral all over social media recently. I’ve seen so many videos all over TikTok promoting this trend with many people showing their excellent results using this method. So what is slugging? Slugging is when you slather your face with a petroleum jelly like Vaseline or Aquaphor. The product acts like a seal on your skin and helps keep the moisture locked into your skin. It also supports a healthy moisture barrier which can reduce wrinkles, acne, acne scars, etc.
How To
The first step is to complete your nightly skincare routine. Slugging should be the last step in your skincare routine.
Grab whatever product you prefer (I use Aquaphor) and slather it all over your face. Leave the product on overnight (do not wash it off). That’s it and you are done!
Tips
Try to finish your skincare routine about an hour before you go to bed so that the product that you are slugging with can soak in. This will prevent the product from getting all over your sheets and pillow.
Apply a small amount all over your face, don’t go overboard
Make sure that you patch test before using new products
Do not use retinols or exfoliators while slugging- this might irritate your skin even more
Use a gentle moisturizer on your skin before you slug
Only slug at night to allow the products to fully soak into your skin
Don’t slug everyday and only slug at night
Don’t slug if you have acne prone skin, inflammatory acne, or oily skin
Only slug over freshly cleaned skin- any dirt or makeup still left over on your skin can lead to irritation or breakouts if you slug over it
Do not slug if you have milia (tiny white bumps on your skin)
There are lots of products you can use for slugging besides Vaseline, you can use Aquaphor or the Cerave Healing Ointment. Find a product that works for your skin.
Key Takeaways
Slugging is a great step to add to your skincare routine. It has so many benefits and can really improve your skin if you do it the right way. You know your body best, if slugging just isn’t working for you, it’s okay to stop and try something else. You don’t always have to follow the skincare trends. Sometimes simple routines are best. I hope this helps. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

Whatever your age, there is always a routine adapted to your skin
No matter what your age, you need to take care of your skin to keep it healthy, vibrant and youthful. Your skin care needs will change the course of your life. Here are my top suggestions and skincare ritual choices for beautiful skin at any age.
Your twenties are a great time to start developing good skin care habits. At 20, a simple regimen of cleansing, toning, exfoliating, moisturizing, and sun protection may be all you need. Add a vitamin C serum to your daily regimen for a preventative measure that will help you avoid free radical damage.
Your life is probably quite hectic in your 30s, whether it's work or family obligations or both. Your eyes are one of the first places to show your fatigue and the first signs of aging. If you don't already have one, invest in a quality gentle eye cream or serum that addresses puffiness, dark circles, and the very first fine lines.
Your 30s are often when you start to see the first signs of aging in the form of fine lines and loss of radiance. To address this, add a vitamin C serum and consider incorporating a retinol product. Also, add a specific nighttime skin care product.
During midlife, your skin can become very sensitive to the sun and you may be prone to hyperpigmentation, in the form of skin discoloration and age spots. Protect your skin by using a high-quality, natural-based SPF30 sunscreen daily, and don't forget your hands, arms, neck, and chest in addition to your face.
Due to hormonal changes, your skin often lacks moisture in your 50s. Double the use of a serum with a moisturizing cream. Hyaluronic acid can help firm the skin and provide much-needed moisture. Remember, it's all about creating a barrier and retaining moisture by using a layer of moisturizing and treating products. You are giving the first product, like the HA serum, a chance to be absorbed before applying the second layer.
If you're 60+, keep it up. A lifetime of healthy skin care habits can result in skin that looks younger than its actual age. But it's never too late to start or improve your commitment to healthy skin. Retinol serum, vitamin C, and hyaluronic acid should be the mainstay of your skin care routine.
True beauty is eternal and timeless because it resides within you. However, you can make that inner beauty shine by taking care of your skin, no matter what decade you live in. It's an action that will continue to pay off throughout your life.
