finally finished the walkcycle for this background! Originally, it was just going to be a kiwi, but my professor told me to add some more secondary movement. Hence the ww2 british empire dogtags!
"Vengeful Winter" mixed media (alcohol markers, colored pencils, paint markers) 19 x 25 in. Finished late December 2023.
Schoolwork-turned-personal art! We're finally getting snow here so I thought I'd share this!
I started this piece in my life drawing class as a still-life study back in mid-November and knew I wanted to do more with it but I didn't have the time due to other school commitments. Finally over break I was able to scatter all my art supplies on my dining room floor and expand on my initial idea! I would've never chosen a red background on my own but that day our teacher had been talking to us about how art sells if it's either 1) big or 2) red (obviously there's more nuance to this advice but there's also truth in it) so I thought I'd try adding a red background while still sticking to my winter theme!
I don't usually title my digital pieces but lately I've been feeling like my traditional artworks are deserving of names. Maybe it's because I can draw quickly digitally while traditional art forces me to connect with the piece/my supplies a bit more. Lmk if you're a multimedia artist who feels similarly!
