Introducing The Skull Index - A public collaborative resource website. You might have seen the post @dread-doughnuts made a while back!
While there are various skull resource sites on the web usually dedicated to a certain museum collection or a few museum collections of skulls. This is the first public collaboration skull resource website led by a small team of 5 individuals.
Do you collect skulls? Enjoy collecting and sharing helpful data such as measurements to help compare against other specimens? Consider becoming a collaborator! We currently have over 400 confirmed species on the index, and many more to come!
We are also in touch with various museums and educational institutions across the world, and hope to add some rarer specimens and hopefully extinct vertebrates at the end of the year! Our hope is that this website will be helpful for anyone. From researchers to students and artists, or to people who are simply interested in bones and skulls and just want to look at neat photos or compare skulls against their own collection for identification help! Please note that the Skull Index is a work-in-progress website! Most pages for species have not been made yet, our team is working hard on editing photos, compiling the information, and adding new content every day.
Keep up to date with news, join the community hub of visitors, and collaborators, and network with people from the museum industry in our DISCORD SERVER (Please note our server is 18+ only due to privacy and safety).

Major shelf shuffle! I decided to swap the long standing Dino Zone with my Australian animal collection, giving them more space to spread out, and changed a lot of displays on this half of the room.
Really happy to see the Aussie animals more on display, and it's nice to have them right under the thylacine shelves! It's funny how the Tassie devil corner is just a dark shadowy place too lol. Synapsid space is down below them! You may spot that one dinosaur managed to stay on this shelf, because she is Australian too.

Since I also decided to get rid of my fish tank (don't worry, all fish had lived full lives and it was vacant for a while) I had more free space to the left side too. So I decided to move the little set of drawers up there (full of bones and such...) and make a nice skully naturey display on top. Not much of a theme to the animal figures in front, just a few I like!

And off to the left of that, Pawface is getting to hang out by my galaxy projector light and some tiny drawers of rocks and trinkets. Ink (the black, one eyed creature) is out to play for the first time in a while too!

The dinosaurs and other prehistoric guys are doing fine and only a few needed to be put away! They've got the two lower left shelves, and the lowest shelf even has a bit of a rainbow going on.

Found this ABSOLUTELY sick skull while I was out foraging. I think it might be a muntjac deer skull but I'm not certain at all - any thoughts appreciated! Found in Cambridgeshire, UK.

A Trip to the Field Museum

Some past photos from my previous trip to the Field Museum last year during a free day. The museum has an amazing collection of specimens and fun temporary exhibits. The one they were hosting when we visited was the Blood Suckers exhibit.
The museum offers free admission days serval times a month for residents or students in Illinois.

So I'm gonna come out and say I'm working on a Mari Lwyd related project right now. I have no idea how it's going to turn out but I'm having fun doing it!
Picture of a genuine horse skull I own for tax:
