SKYSTAR WEEK 2022 Art Compilation

From Cover Art 00 to Last Entry 07, I participated in this challenge the past year so, while I prepare new artworks for this year, I decided to put these together and... marvel again at my own skills because it's really nice to look back to all of it in this way, makes my heart growth :').

These followed the @skystarweek 's [prompt list] from 2022, and I tried to make it work in a sequential way, like illustrations for a short story and I'm super happy with how the final result looks!

Under the cut I will leave some extras I did during the process of it because I have to confess I needed to extend the whole event to the whole month instead of a sole week because well, I'm like that slow ksdjfhdsjhf.

Visual references for Skyfire and Starscream I used for each entry, I wasn't used to redesigning characters in my own style so this was a novel for me too!

When I had to delay some entries I doodled silly fourth-wall-breaking pics like these x'D

Day four of Skystar week! Today’s prompts: Expedition and Home. Song: Fly Me To The Moon by Frank Sinatra.

Ficlit: Not Even the Sky is the Limit

((You’re awfully quite Starscream.)) Skyfire had to communicate his concerns through internal comm links. While they didn’t need air to survive like organically did, Transformers needed it to make sound just like anything else in existence, and space was decisively lacking in that particular element.

((Just.. taking it all in I guess.)) the Seeker pulled up close and hugged his large mate. He was feeling uncharacteristically vulnerable and wanted the ensuring feel of the familiar chaise in his arms.

((Yes, the view is lovely out here.)) The shuttle-former put all his awe and happiness into his EM field so his Conjunx could feel it too.

((I wasn’t talking about the scenery you goof.)) the ex-Decepticon shot him a look.

((Neither was I!)) the former Autobot gently squeezed him to get his point across.

((Oh…)) Starscream allowed himself to indulge in the intimacy of the embrace for a few Spark pulses before frowning up at his lover with renewed vigor. ((Stop distracting me with your romantic nonsense. I’m pondering deep thinking here!))

((Such as…?)) Skyfire earnestly inquired.

((It’s just… a lot of slag has changed in such a short amount of time and… I guess it’s all catching up to me now.)) he looked up into the blue optics he loved so much. ((We’re free, our family unit is reunited, we’re respected, dare I say even beloved leaders in our community, sure we can never go back to Cybertron but eh, who needs it anymore? We have all we ever wanted right here in Sigma Orionis.)) his handsome face erupted into a wide bright grin as another point came to the forefront of his processor. ((More than that, in fact. We’re parents now! I never dreamed we’d ever get the opportunity.))

((I think, out of all our expeditions over the many vorns together, the one that brought us home is my favorite.)) Skyfire’s engine vibrated, no sound but a familiar gesture none the less.

((You total sap. Oh my Primus and the UN-maker both! Why did I bond myself to you?)) Starscream let his amusement leak through his own EM field to show it was only his usual teasing and nothing to fret about. ((Eternity with a hopeless romantic, and I do mean hopeless!))

((Yep, you’re stuck with me love.)) Skyfire would have chuckled if he could, in any event his glowing smile would have to speak for him.

((Quick, distract me with your clumsy excuse for dancing before I divorce you.)) Starscream smirked, as he was swept between his namesakes, finally free to be happy.

SKYSTAR WEEK 2023 Art Compilation

I DID IT YAY! From Cover Art 00 to Entry 07 + Bonus ending: the visual theme I chose for this year was making each entry as it was part of a Tarot/Oracle Deck of Cards. I think I accomplished that pretty nicely, I even gave it a shot and printed everything AAA I'm so delighted!!

Even if I told myself to do these without a story to follow just each one as a standalone card, I admit after reading the [Graphic Novel Adaptation] of "Fire in the Sky" by @akapen011 (please, if you didn't: read it, IS A JEWEL) I couldn't resist and made Entry 05 and Entry 07 to work together x)

As always I tried to follow @skystarweek 's [Prompts] for the year and to make each entry like a divination card that can be interpreted in the normal and reversed way (still, I know I failed in some things but details pff).

THE END! Now to the next yeaaaar if life gives me another chance, I hope so!

Hey there, Autobots, Decepticons and gentlebeings of all persuasions! Moderator @eerian-sadow here to give a few more details for Jazz Week, where we celebrate the smoothest, coolest cat ever produced by Hasbro.

Jazz Week, or Autobot Jazz Week to keep confusion among the music festival crowd to a minimum, is a themed prompt week that runs from July 16 through July 22, 2023. This overlaps with at least one other fandom challenge (SkyStarWeek, July 17-22) and I know that’s a bummer.

BUT!!

You can absolutely overlap your challenges. I don’t expect anyone to turn out two or three or more pieces per day, so please double or triple dip for THIS challenge. After all, it’s fine to wear the same dress to more than one party. ;) AND this is an “All Fanworks Welcome” challenge! Whether you paint, draw, write, knit or make floral arrangements, any fanwork that celebrates Jazz is happily welcomed here. The most important thing is that you are having fun! (We're also all ratings, so tag/warn accordingly, please!)

Like most theme weeks, we have some prompts! This year, they are:

Day three of Skystar Week! Prompt: Miracle, song: Baby Mine from Disney’s Dumbo.

Ficlit: Wings of Hope

Starscream was trembling.

Not with anticipation of conquest and victory, nor with fear for his very life. No, for once in all his vorns Starscream, dispossed prince of Vos, top of his class at the Iacon Science Academy, ex-commander of the Decepticon Armada and surprisingly devoted family mech, was trembling with joy.

Pure, unadulterated, undeniable joy.

“Beloved?” Skyfire whispered, tilting his helm from where it had been resting on his Conjunx shoulder kibble. “You’re weeping.” The forging had been very easy for the large ex-Autobot soldier, given how their Sparkling was more akin to its Sire in size.

“She’s just so beautiful…” the Seeker managed to sob, gazing down at the tiny new life cradled in his servos.

“Uh, guys… I’d hate to break up your alone time with your brand new Bitlit, but if we don’t let Updraft meet his cousin soon, I’m afraid he’s going to break down the door.” Thundercracker chuckled through the comm-link on the far wall of the medical bay.

Starscream snorted a laugh of his own and hit a button on the recharge birth they were currently cuddling on. “Alright you lot, get in here and meet the latest member of our unit.”

Updraft came charging in like a possessed Predacon and practically leapt onto the bed, only just barely resisting activating his thrusters in his eagerness.

“Carefully now, little Mech.” Skyfire’s engine purred as he caught their nephew and gently held him to his side. Close enough to see but not touch, at least not until he calmed down some. “Zephyr is brand new, we must be careful how we handle her.”

“She’s so tiny!” The Sparkling exvented in perfect awe. He looked up into his uncle’s crimson optics “Was I ever that small?”

“We all were at one point, Sweetspark.” Novastorm enlightened her son.

“So when are you two going to have one of these?��� Starscream smirked at Skywarp and Windblade. He had to bite his lip to keep from barking a laugh as his youngest brother gulped visibly and his sister-in-bond looked horrorstricken.

“No way!” The purple Mech and his crimson Femme blurted in unison.

Little Zephyr wailed, letting her family unit know in no uncertain terms that the latest “Princess” of the Royal family of Vos, did not appreciate her nap time being interrupted.
