One of Dave Felony's stupidest decisions ever was making the Zygerrian queen try to manipulate Anakin by telling him being a Jedi = slavery when the clones were RIGHT THERE. And I'm not anti-Jedi. The Republic would have used the clones either way, and I think the Jedi's decision to become military leaders and lead the clones was the best choice they could make in those circumstances. But I think Miraj saying "For they have forsaken their ideals and become slavers themselves," while not true or fair (because what self-respecting villain plays fair?), would've been much better than "blah blah corrupt Senate." Imagine Obi-Wan lying awake at night in Kadavo, wondering if she was right. We have plenty of episodes showing how corrupt the Senate is. We don't have enough episodes, imo, exploring the ethical implications of an army, literally created to fight and die in a war, purchased like livestock.

OMG REX DEAR GOD

The unholy noise that escaped me when I first saw him in that Zygerrian armour. Omg. Sir. Please.

I’ve always wondered why Rex’s arms look yellow in this armour. I always thought he had bare arms in this armour. Turns out its yellow fabric with puffy sleeves at the elbows. We were robbed of more Rex arms. Boooooooooo.

Omg Anakin’s flirting is hilariously painful.

So Anakin has never talked about his past to Ahsoka and now just casually mentions it in conversation?

Turns out the Zygerrian flying lizard thing is a brezak. I’m sure Tech mentioned this in The Bad Batch and I have completely forgotten.

That was not a subtle escape attempt at all.

I am absolutely not complaining at all but why didn’t Cody get to go on the mission and play Zygerrian dress up? I’m guessing someone sensible and competent had to stay at home and organise the entire Third Systems Army. Plus it makes sense that Rex tags along, seeing as the 501st are chaos merchants. Might has well have Captain Chaos Merchant himself go on the chaotic secret mission.

That hint of the Star Wars theme when Anakin salutes to R2-D2 was not subtle at all.

Lmao at R2 shooting the lightsabers into the air. I wonder where we’ve seen this before!

After seeing how effected Anakin was in the previous episode, he’s slipped into the role of pretending to be a slaver awfully easily. Even after their collective escape attempt was foiled and he’s stuck being bodyguard to the Zygerrian queen, he still doesn’t seem as effected as we initially saw him. I wonder what happened between episodes. I’m guessing Obi-Wan and Ahsoka had a chat with him or something.

Anakin Force choking the Zygerrian queen. Well that’s certainly not foreshadowing for anything at all.

Anakin making the rather astute point that he has none of the power in whatever relationship the Zygerrian queen thinks she has with him.

In terms of Jedi Apologists pretending to be "woke" when their community is actually rife with homophobia, ableism, abuse apologism and yes to an extent- racism- I have one more point to add.

Never read their takes on mental health. I mean it, especially if you know someone who struggles with mental health issues or you do yourself. Some of their stuff is absolutely vile.

The amount of victim-blaming and the way they attribute mental health problems to "moral deficiency" or eqaute them with evil is absolutely vile. You would think we were still livng in Victorian times with some of these people.

Yeah. Like, Jedi apologists often fail to recognise how screwed up the canon actually makes the Jedi and instead try to defend them with any means necessary. I often have seen them jumping through hoops and bizarrely throwing around unrelated-topic words like "Homophobia", "Nazi" and "Racist" at people who critique the Jedi Order, both diluting these words which concern actual real-life, serious issues and insulting people at the same time all for the sake of fictional magic characters. It's definitely not "woke" to support a theocratic Order and fascist Republic that deals in slave soldiers.

It doesn't surprise me their takes on mental health are so wonky. I've seen them victim blame Ahsoka for the Wrong Jedi arc. Anyone hurt or taken advantage of by the Jedi Order is apparently always in the 'wrong', never the Jedi. They'd rather rip apart a teenage girl to protect precious middle aged idiots with cool lightsabers than actually evaluate the unethical actions of the Jedi Order and its relationship with the Republic.

I just find it mind-boggling that some people will reblog things like “Anakin didn’t care about Rex and his men, he wouldn’t listen to Fives just because he was friends with Palpatine” and then in the next post be gushing over Rexwalker/Rexanidala like???? so you agree. Anakin does care about Rex?

#some people will literally hate on either Anakin or the Jedi council for reasons that explicitly contradict the point of the prequels #and then YOU'RE either toxically positive or condoning abuse for liking all the characters and having a nuanced view of things #the takes I mentioned in the body of this post literally wiped out the fact that Palpatine groomed and manipulated him for Years just so-#-they could say “wow the clones didn’t deserve what that horrible guy Anakin did to them”#me: okay. so you’re saying they didn’t deserve for him to show kindness and friendship and help reinforce the mindset of individuality they #-already had and that the majority of jedi encouraged because they are a group who treasure individuality and have compassion on everyone &#-all things???#Anakin could be a shit person but he wasn’t to the clones and I will die on this hill #“he enslaved them” you’re pinning that on ANAKIN. a literal former slave. not the Republic or the Kaminoans?#he would have 0 reason to enslave them because he knows what that’s like. he’s been through that #why. nobody can talk to ridge about fighting for the republic once he's succesfully escaped it, he's gotta be probably the most critical of the republic government out of all the clones. saying "our purpose [as clones] is to fight!" will get you "who told you that? The Kaminoans that 'bred' us for money or the government that won't pay us and won't let us vote?"
