Exhausted Hero

*~*~*~*~*

“Wait…”

It wasn’t the word that caused the Villain pause. It was the desperation behind it. The rain was hammering down against the fire escape outside, Villain’s hand still holding the window up. A small hand was clutching the fabric of their hoodie and Villain was left frozen like this.

They turned their head over their shoulder to see Hero. Head bowed, eyes drawn, focused on their hand in Villain’s jumper as if they didn’t quite expect it themselves.

“Yes Hero?” Villain asked, voice gentle.

Hero licked their dry lips, eyes lifting to Villain’s, looking at them through their fringe. It cast the shadows in Hero’s sockets, exposing every line, every bag under them. And they were wet with unshed tears that seemed too much for Hero to shed. Like if they did they would crumble to dust.

“Please… stay. I— I haven’t slept…” Hero whispered, voice barely audible, and loud at the same time. Loud in telling Villain how desperate they must have been to ask Villain for help. To stay? To help them? To show this vulnerability. This weakness.

It told Villain everything they needed to know.

Villain shut the window. It was the best night’s sleep Hero’s had in weeks.

Ninjago AU except everything is the exact same up until the ninja find Dr. Julien at the lighthouse, then BAM Julien introduces Echo to everyone

Then skip over to Rebooted's ending where Zane sacrifices himself, and Echo has to deal with the aftermath of his Family dying and like- *drowns in angst potential*

And you could have it go in two ways in Season 4

A) Echo tags along with Garmadon and the other ninja to save Zane

B) have Echo call the new Zane a fake copy of his actual brother

Heck if you want to, you could connect option B to Sons of Garmadon and have Echo resent Lloyd for being unable to keep his golden powers which the overlord took and resulted in Zane's sacrifice, and you could have it where Echo is only siding with the SoG just to get revenge on Lloyd

AAAAAAAND YOU COULD ALSO HAVE IT WHERE ZANE HAS TO SNAP ECHO BACK TO REALITY, by trying to tell Echo that he is the actual Zane, and holy crap the Mr. E fight is now so much more angsty shiiiiiiiit-

Just woke up with this random thought for a plot (excuse the horrible writing but I’m still half asleep)

Hero who is known to be super hot and is constantly having everyone fall in love with him and the Villain is fed up with it so the Villain devises a plan to hurt the Hero while also damaging his pride.

The Villain’s Henchmen is sent to spy on the Hero’s personal life (Villain and Hero have an agreement not to harm each other’s loved ones) and Henchmen sees this one particular Woman who is very beautiful hang around Hero and Henchmen sees them hug.

Henchmen assumes Hero and this Woman are dating so he tells Villain that.

Villain decides to get Hero’s lover to fall in love with him (technically he wouldn’t be breaking their agreement).

Villain approach’s the Woman and starts forming a relationship with her.

They get close and find out a lot of things about each other, like the Woman finding out the Villain’s tragic backstory™️ and the Villain finding out that the Woman had been a young mom and that she had been a single mom to her son but she did the best to raise him and they’re very close.

Eventually Villain starts to have feelings for this Woman so he decides he wants to be with her for real.

Hero bursts into his home to find Villain and Woman having a romantic intimate dinner and just as Villain is about to explain, Woman hugs the Hero and tells him that she wants him to meet her new boyfriend. She assures the Villain that her son didn’t mean to be rude when he burst in, he’s just overprotective of his mom.

That’s when Villain realizes that Woman is NOT the Hero’s lover, she’s the Hero’s MOTHER.

This….. this just got so much better…..

Woman leaves the room to go get something from the other room and Hero shoves Villain into a wall and asked him what he’s doing and Villain just responds “Your Mom, apparently.”

Tw: overworking, sleep deprived, passing out

“Whumpee i have amazing news! Our company’s ratings have skyrocketed and..Whumpee?”

Whumpee’s eyes snapped open as they looked to Caretaker, they had been working on a new design for one of the company’s outfits. “Hmm? Yeah?” Whumpee rubbed their eyes as Caretaker rested an arm on the counter. “Are you alright? You seem..More drowsy than usual.” They took a good look at Whumpee, they noticed the bags under their eyes and how pale they looked, they just looked malnourished.

“Oh, yeah I’m good, just stayed up a little late last night.”

Whumpee replied as they continued to work on the outfit, the needle and thread piercing the seams as they felt themselves start to falter and fall asleep again. Caretaker shook their shoulder, “Hey, you should sit down, you really don’t look too good.” Caretaker said while trying to lead Whumpee to a seat, but Whumpee refused, “I have to get this done, just a few more minutes.” Whumpee said as they grabbed the mannequin and tried to continue their work. But Caretaker was not having it, they grabbed Whumpee’s shoulder firmly, not hurting them though, and tried to pull them to the seat.

“No. You need to sit down.” Caretaker ordered as they noticed Whumpee starting to sway a bit, little black spot started to cloud Whumpee’s vision. “Caretaker I’m alright, I’ll be—“ Whumpee suddenly fell to their knees, they didn’t move for a moment before blinking and waking themselves up, Caretaker helped them to a stand. “I’ll be fine.” Whumpee finished their sentence as they held onto Caretaker’s arm for support.

“Whumpee. I don’t intend to be rude, BUT YOU LITERALLY JUST COLLAPSED ONTO THE HARD TILE FLOOR. THAT’S THE EXACT OPPOSITE OF FINE.”Caretaker lost their temper a bit as they shouted at Whumpee, dissing them for not taking care of themselves, they expected Whumpee to respond with something snarky or sarcastic. But instead they got a question in response.

“Hey Caretaker? Can..Can I..Lean on you?”

Whumpee started to fall forward as their knees buckled and they went slump, Caretaker luckily caught them before their face became a pancake and set them onto the lounge chair that was in the room.

“Whumpee, that’s not leaning, that’s giving me a goddamn heart attack.” Caretaker said as they saw Whumpee fall asleep rather quickly, their tired eyes were shut softly as a light snore could be heard from them. Caretaker smiled and took Whumpee’s coat and put it over them, they also made sure to have some coffee ready for when they woke up.

Then Caretaker sat next to Whumpee, wrapped an arm around them and fell asleep with them.

It was, honestly very wholesome.

I feel weird because I'm a 22 year old that is emotionally dependent on a fictional character that is part of a very very minor plot line in the original work.

Like, wtf!? I literally not failed one of my courses because if regulus black saw me give into my anxiety he would understand but tell to keep going no matter what. He would shake me and tell me I'm stronger that my demons. That he only likes competent people and I was behaving stupidly. And then hug after my shock and help me finish it.

Just so you understand THE THOUGHT OF REGULUS ARCTURUS BLACK being disappointed in me gave me strength to stay up until 4 am to finish my final project.

✩ My skin is peeling

6/11/23 (incomplete)

Bodies get softer when they’re in receipt of love. Faces glow with overjoyment. No hollow eyes, just the dewy skin of adoration.

When I lay my weight on my friend, she complains of my hip bones. How they dig like walking barefoot on gravel. But she tells me to stay put, she knows the years haven’t been kind. The hairdresser tells me I look 25. I've not laid a finger on my 20s. He claims it’s because I’m mature. He says it’s a good thing but I can’t help but think I missed out on my youth.

When he said he loved me I had to hold back a laugh. He had me in chains tethered to his bed for over a year. A 3 hour bus ride, a pale bloodstain on his loose sheets, another victim of theft. I was his dream girl. He wouldn’t ever find someone better suited (to fuck). He found someone else soon after.

The aching for him, whoever he was at the time, has worn all the love from my mother down to a poking skeleton. I want four children. I don’t think my body is strong enough to bear even one. It doesn’t matter, he never dreamed of having children with me. He liked grasping the flesh on my chest. He liked the places I kissed. He liked how warm (tight) I felt inside. I tell him there’s a spare toothbrush by the sink as he puts his rings back on and ties his laces. I sit on the stairs as the doors slam and it reminds me of how my dog watches the door longing for his family to come home. Then I cry about my dog.

I learned to do things the right way. That’s what I told the nice guy with kind eyes and long hair. An exception to the current pandemic of hit and runs. He probably would’ve given me the world but I knew it wouldn’t work since he was too adventurous and had plans to move to France in the near future. At least that’s what I told myself was the reason I never texted him back (someone else still had their claws in my heart).

My lashes weren’t as long as they were a year ago. My best friend from home says tears help them grow. I trust her with everything. The internet says the opposite. My lashes tell me the internet is right. I think she hoped it would make me feel better. It didn’t work. Nothing works anymore.

As I approach the end of my teens I learn my older sister was right. But no one ever wants to follow advice they know is fact. To truly understand you have to experience it yourself. Therein starts the endless cycle. They warn you but you don’t want to listen. I wish I had listened. She says we’re more similar than we realise. That’s why I make the same mistakes she did at my age. She gives me the advice she wished she had been told. I pick and choose what I tell her. If she saw the whole picture her heart would break. She told me to leave him and i told her I would. I did (after I laid in his loose sheets half the person I once was). I may be mature for my age but my god I was still a child.

She never stops screaming. She hasn’t to this day. For all the times, all the people that have wronged her. But she’ll never stop handing out her heart to every soul she sees a shred of light in. and I can’t stop her. I never will.

More ninja headcanons, instruments edition™:

- Wu plays the Flute, and he also flute beat boxes, and everyone tells him it's impressive asf but he doesn't see it as such, I'm gonna also go ahead and say his staff is the Flute, basically taking it from the movie, he only does it when he's bored, so he'd be watching the ninja train and he'd suddenly start playing his oversized flute-staff out of boredom

- Jay's definitely the guitar, when everyone's gathered for the day of the Departed, he's the one to pull out the guitar when everyone is around the campfire, generally preferring to just play it instead of singing (partiality because his singing isn't great) but he would sing if evryeone else joins in

- Kai loves the drums, if he isn't training or doing chores, he's playing the drums almost 24/7, he's the typa guy to pull up random ass songs just to add his own drums to them

(mental image of baby shark playing while Kai is absolutely fucking ripping it with the drums like there's no tomorrow)

- Cole's is a bass guitar, because that's the only headcanon I accept >:)

So yeah he loves his bass guitar, he and Kai make a kick ass duo if they decide to team up for a song or a random tune they thought of, however they remain in second place in the "music playing duos" *wink wink*

- Nya's is the trumpet and sax, I'm sorry but the mental image of her playing the trumpet or sax is way too good to be left unused

Generally, she prefers a more laid back approach when it comes to playing both instruments, mainly making jazzy tunes, and she's one of the few people who actually make full music tracks instead of randomly playing whenever she feels like it, with Kai being the one working on the drums, and Cole being the one to provide a really really low tone bass guitar in the background to break up any background silence

- Lloyd originally didn't take interest in music, but after the Oni invasion he thought to himself "might as well learn something now that life is somewhat calm again", so he picked the harmonica and he is really damn good at it, you've heard of Flute beatbox, but have you heard of HARMONICA BEATBOX??? (yes it actually exists BTW, it's just as goofy and cool as it sounds), and if he and the team are in a dessert, you better bet your ass he's gonna play the hermonica as long as they're there, which is both amusing and annoying to everyone else around him

- and the last two, Zane and PIXAL

Zane and PIXAL can play all instruments almost immediately from the get go, they just need a few hours to fully perfect them, but they both still prefer using one instead of all of them

Zane picked up the violin, recognising the emotional petional it had, so he immediately fell in love with it, at first he was a bit apprehensive about telling his team about his hobby but eventually they all found out when they heard him play it in his room because he forgot to close the door, and much to his delight they were actually really happy he picked something up to express himself like them

PIXAL picked up the piano, she really doesn't know why she likes it so much, one day it just clicked to her

Like Zane, she was also a bit apprehensive about telling the others, but one day Zane caught her playing it, and he proceeded to tell everyone about it with the biggest "my GF is so badass" look on his face, she was a bit worried at first when they found out about her piano skills but she eventually she got used to it

Now because I'm a sucker for the 2 nindroid Ninjas literally doing everything together (PIXANE best ship don't @ me)

I also headcanon that when they both found out that the other plays an instruments, 2 very complimentary ones at that, they immediately started writing up a fuck ton of songs/tracks, like you'd walk in on them and thier conversation would be something like:

"wait how about a small violin part here?"

"wait, how about making the part be broken apart by the paino? so the second the paino ends, a small violin part starts, and the second it ends the piano starts up again?"

"WHY ALSO NOT MAKE IT SO THAT IT EVENTUALLY REACHES A CLIMAX WHERE THE TRACK ENDS WITH BOTH INSTRUMENTS PLAYING AT THE SAME TIME?"

"YEAH ALSO MAKE IT SO THE SONG'S MOTIF PLAYS AFTER THE CLIMAX AS THE ENDING!"

"THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I'M THINKING-"

"YEAAAAAAA-"

Sorry got a little lost there

Back to the topic at hand, yeah they write music together mostly, they're either the most emotional roller coaster you've ever heard (always makes someone on the team cry) or they're just more laid back, usually the piano and violin sounding hopeful in these songs

But if they're feeling chaotic, then oh boy are they gonna write up some ridiculous but cool shit, by that I mean a crazy fast paced piano with a violin (to get an example of what I mean, take a listen to the song "Xi - ascension to heaven")

So uh yeah, those are my headcanons regarding a few funny legos, hope you enjoyed it.

@heroes-villains-side-blog, one of the ideas on your post got me thinking :)

Your "can you hire a freelancer hero online?" idea made me wonder "can you hire a freelancer villain online?" and that, consequently, produced this:

Villain sighed into the receiver. "What you're looking for is akin to an assassin, ma'am. I am not that type of villain."

The woman on the other end of the line blathered something else into their ear.

"What you're describing right now is mercenary work. I don't do-" They stopped short as she spoke again.

"...Kidnapping I can do, yes...No, I can't- It's not in my repertoire- No, I will not 'just add it'. I have a certain skillset-"

Villain scowled as the woman cut them off again. After another two minutes of arguing with her, they ended the call.

They could find another client to work for. They weren't that desperate for work.
