“Togaru hikes through the sand and up to the giant boulders that ring the beach, not even waiting for the others to exit the mini-bus. The entire ride over was a chilly nightmare...turns out, UA has the cash to have aircon on their buses. His old school was the opposite. Every bus ride was a sticky, warm mess...and one of his favorite parts of any trip.But after forty minutes of horribly chilled air, with not a blanket in sight? Now he’s miserable, and slogging towards a nice sunning rock as fast as his slowed climbs can carry him. He may be mostly human, but his anatomy still tends towards cold-blooded, and each step feels like he’s walking through mud, rather than fine sand. He kind of wants to cry.”
