If you can recognize how much of North America was cultivated over thousands of years by indigenous people, then you also need to recognize that a significant chunk of "wilderness" here is dependent on human intervention to thrive.

There are countless plants and fungi, from mushrooms to grasses to trees, that have been proven to do best when regularly harvested, whether it's because harvest makes them release seeds or clears away dead growth or provides more light to younger plants, cultivation means that harvesting is often to the benefit of the plant.

Which means that you also have to recognize that locking those plants away from people, even with the best intentions, can actually do horrible damage to their populations and to existing ecosystems.

There isn't an easy solution to this problem. Proper foraging isn't something that most people are taught anymore and many of these plants do not have significant enough populations right now to survive excessive harvest.

But going forward, as we work on restoring ecosystems and helping our planet (and our relationships to the land) heal, then we need to acknowledge that humans and nature are not separate entities and that we've always been dependent on each other.

You tried to maintain this facade of annoyance, only to fail miserably. Resting your head on her shoulder, you stifle an obvious smile, “you sweet son of a bitch…”

The streets were devoid of people, nobody to witness the situation. You sighed, relieved that nobody was here to witness how vulnerable you were but equally disappointed, having anticipated for someone to comment at how cute the two of you looked. people who say "i wont feed into your delusion/delusional identity" are so silly because there's no way for them to judge our "level" of delusion. or what behaviors even are related to delusion (yes im talking about psychotics here too. many psychotics are deeply guilty of this sanism.)

i just bought a little personal utensil set online. it has a knife, fork, spoon, and a little container. this is mostly because i have a contamination/uncleanliness delusion. if i follow the beliefs of the "i wont feed into your delusion" crowd, i never would have bought that and would have struggled with eating from utensils indefinitely. because getting my own personal utensil set with the intention of avoiding the contaminated utensils of others, in their eyes, would be "feeding into delusion." in their eyes, any level of non-negative interactions with delusions are inherently bad and inherently harmful. to them, if you're psychotic and not actively attempting to shame yourself out of delusions (or other psychotic symptoms) this is a moral failing.

fortunately, this isnt how delusions work in real life (or anything. when has self-shame helped us really?) my personal utensil set doesnt confirm My reality as any more real to me than it was before. the people in my life who encouraged me to buy my utensil set, and who will encourage me to use it, are not worsening my delusions. my delusions are already there, and they will be there regardless of what happens to me; schizophrenia is chronic after all. all they have done is provide me an environment where i wont be judged if i engage in coping methods related to soothing delusions, and where i am encouraged to cope and feel better

the best part is, engaging with my personal utensil set AND other people encouraging me to use it is completely unnocuous. it's literally just a fork, knife, and spoon; a person eating with a personal utensil set is uncommon and a bit odd, but nothing more. these behaviors not only cause no harm to me (they directly benefit me actually) but they also cause no harm to others

this post is about coping behaviors and respect for delusional people. this post is not about whether you should engage with your delusions in a specific way or not. every delusional person has an individual experience and should address their delusions in whichever way helps them most - but this does not mean forcing other delusional people to cope with whichever method worked best for you, especially if that is shame.

Since Mojang fulfilled my number one Minecraft wish (customisable armour), time to voice my number two Minecraft wish, which is pastel coloured wood.

I mean we already got the pastelly pink one which is AWESOME, but I’ve been wishing for a pastelly blue wood since I started playing this game, because I want to build my childhood home which is an old wooden house painted pastel blue.

(Genuinely the closest thing I’ve got is white concrete, which isn’t really blue or wood, but it’s at least vaguely similar I guess.)

Also I keep wanting to build a quintessentially Finnish village but again, I’m just missing those pastel colours. (Mangrove wood at least is pretty close to the iconic rural Nordic punamulta colour and I guess I can use yellow terracotta for the keltamulta variant. But that’s a completely different vibe from the pastels)

I would also accept a pastel terracotta set too though. Something like what white terracotta is now, but other colours as well. Sandstone kinda works for the yellow but again I’m just stuck with only reddish and yellowish options. idk, I just want more pastel colours in Minecraft pls... Mainly pastel blue and pastel green, if I only got those two I would be just so unbelievably happy.

(Please don’t tell me to just download a texture pack, I already know I can do that. It’s fine for single player but I like to play in multiplayer and I don’t want my builds to look weird for other people. Also yes prismarine brick exists but the texture is weird. Look, I know I’m being greedy and all, but I’m allowed to dream, aren’t I?)

Actually I think what would be a perfect way to introduce these would be to add End biomes with some sort of alien plants that could be crafted into planks with pastel colours, similar to the nether fungi but even more bizarre. That would be really cool IMO
