You move to pick up a master from his storage unit, not that you conciously do so..you are more a bystander who does what the master you are the host for instructs, you have no purpose but to obey.
The human opposite has been restrained by another host, and is fully aware of its fate so is terrorfied. He Doesn't want to end up like you, but he will have no choice…
Your memories are intact, as they serve the the masters in the enslavement of mankind as they master can read them, you know what the human victim is thinking by recalling your own kidnap and assimiliation. He is hearing the screams of others being taken over, seeing you under a masters control. Like you he has lost control of his bodily functions due to fear, as you approach with his new master. A host you knew previously as a human attached the master to you, it was your brother, and this human also knows you, it was your former boyfriend.
You feel even more aroused than usual, little does this human know the joy that awaits it as an obeying horny host slave. Little does it know that all hosts have to exchange fluids on a daily basis as the masters enjoy the thrill of orgasms, they keep us horny and errect at all times.
Your ears of course blocked by you master tendrils, so you can't hear what the future host is shouting at you as you attach it to his throat. The master immediately winds tentacles around the neck of the human and attaches to the base of the skull and spine, while two tenticles start to enter the ears - burning their way into the future hosts mind.
the host will be sreaming now as he slowly has parts of his brain disolved away, you recall this process lasts no more than a few days and the extreeme agony the human experiences is worth it in the end, to become an obeying host.
You stand at attention as your master communes telepathically with other masters, but you are aware of your masters promse, that when that host is controlled, you will be the first to exhange body fluids with it. As it becomes a host in the hive..

eren how similar is the game among us to the plot of the thing i have to know
well, i haven’t played it, but from the people that i’ve heard about it from, you’re a bunch of crewmates who are just doing their rounds on a spaceship and one or two of you beforehand gets nominated as the imposter. the imposter goes around killing other crewmates but has to avoid suspicion and manipulate others in your favour. by the end of the game, people vote for who they suspect to be the imposter, whether or not they are. you’ve got to be convincing or you’ll be thrown off the ship to die in space.
the plot of the thing (1982) is this alien can assimiliate anybody (whether by physically doing so or slowly infecting them over a period of time) and it ends up being taken to this outpost in antarctica by the crew. a dog gets taken in too (which also turns out to be a thing). it can take the form of ANYBODY and a thing can look like anyone with no visible indications which is why is drives this narrative of paranoia amongst the entire crew, so they go from a bunch of crewmates and friends hanging out and maintaining the outpost to people who are frightened and angry to the point they try to kill someone because they think he’s one of them.
one thing different is that they end up doing a blood test to see whose blood reacts to a hot wire so they know who (or what, frankly at this point) to kill because they have no other way after their blood bank was sabotaged by one of them (it’s left ambiguous for clever reasons). among us has a similar if not pretty much the same (don’t quote me on this) concept in that you have no idea who it is because they is no indication for you to understand that someone is not one of you and that you have to be convincing, regardless of whether you’re an imposter or not. it’s starts off fine, you’re all just hanging out before paranoia descends and you have to be wary of who you’re with and to not make yourself the main suspect when you’re around doing tasks.
someone who plays the game can add but i think that’s the gist of the game and it pretty much sounds like a concept from the thing where everyone soon becomes very wary and distrustful of each other in hopes of neither risking being thrown out or being alone and getting murdered by the imposter.
