Wow.

I was looking at the list of upcoming Marvel titles they revealed at SDCC and realized...I just don't care.

There's so much. SO MUCH. I barely mustered up the enthusiasm to watch the last handful of releases. The ONLY reason I saw SM:NWH in the theater is because of Doc Ock.

There's maybe a couple characters I have any sort of interest in, and that's waning.

So, thanks, Disney, for giving me way too much of a not always good thing.

Lol am I sensing some subtle shade directed towards Chris here? I mean I love Chris, but comparing him to Andrew Garfield is a disservice. Andrew is a Tony and GG winner, as well as a 2 time Oscar, and an Emmy nominee. He should've won the Oscar for TTB. Chris is also great at what he does, but this is an apples to oranges comparison, imo.

But here they were. And now he wasn't only mentoring one Spider-Kid but also playing babysitter for two additional Spider-Men who were now stuck in their universe.

OOC: Variant Headcanons

I honestly get so wrapped up in configured Cherry’s place in the current MCU and especially her place in the Dr Strange fandom that I forget this little fact that I wrote down shortly after seeing SM:NWH

I have not decided if Cherry will be involved in SM: NWH. The ramifications of running into Rami!Norman would be catastrophic. I do have a cherry for Rami!verse and Amazing!verse so both Peters, Norman and Otto, possibly Electro would know her. I am tempted to save her the trama and have Wong drag her along for karaoke.

Let’s dive into this real quick.

1) while I have not written it out, yes, ultimately, until we are show WHERE Wong goes during NWH I absolutely Hc that he returns, finds Cherry a little distraught, and pulls her along for a karaoke night. Ultimately, this is where I’ve always imagined their first kiss taking place just as the sky cracks open and Wong has to return to New York. (I always imagine the karaoke bar taking place in San Francisco thanks to Shang Chi)

2) so, why pull Cherry from meeting Raimi! And Amazing! Spider-Man’s and villains?

Because holy hell. It’s a lot.

Raimi!spider-man/The Oz Verse (raimi! And comic canon)

Long story short:

Harry Osborn and Cherry are in a relationship. Things with Norman are very VERY messy as in their first meeting he kidnaps Cherry and injects her with oz/Goblin serum as payback against his son but Norman eventually mellows out into a something of a weird, dark paternal figure to Cherry after she becomes pregnant with Harry’s daughter. This is the only child she has due to complications with the Oz!serum and a blood transfusion from Harry. Harry goes insane, Norman steps up because he believes his granddaughter will become his true heir.

Otto is a side figure and eventual friend due to his connection to the Osborns and to Parker. Peter obviously knows Cherry through her relationship to Harry and has saved her more than once. She does know Peter Parker is Spider-Man and considered him a brother.

Amazing!SM

Cherry has a similar backstory to her MCU! where Norman owed her father a favor and he took her in after her father’s death. She was raised as a sister to Harry and knew Peter well. When Harry went to boarding school, she didn’t see Peter anymore and she became Norman’s caretaker and this was where a lot of her abuse HCs started from. A lot of my HCs for MCU Cherry stem from her Amazing!canon.

So:

MCU!Cherry meeting Rami!Norman would absolutely be traumatic for my girl, but especially because R!Norman actually cares on some level for her variant as she’s the mother to his grandchild (who he deems the only worthwhile bloodline he has).

Otto often compares Cherry to figures in mythology. Women who radiate light while they are tied to the most unfortunate situations. MCU!Cherry would probably be okay around him if a bit frightened at first.

Both R! And A! Peter see Cherry as a little sister figure and would be delighted to see her where it’s reversed and Cherry has always seen MCU!Peter as Tony’s protege and a bit of a little brother.

Max may be the only one not to know her as he was an employee of Oscorp, but he may have met her through Harry briefly and would have seen a shivering, traumatized girl in A!Cherry and no real connection with her like the others.

Ultimately, NWH is about Peter. I also couldn’t think of a way to incorporate Cherry without knocking Peter of his spot and I hate that idea. I think I’ve made the right idea but man. I really want to have fun and do some variant Cherry ideas/people who know Cherry variants to meet her.
