One of the things I just love about Alina, is her ability to act like an authority on every other topic she barely encountered. No words of doubt, no sign she's only repeating what she heard... No "I think" or "If I understand it correctly". One chapter she admits she doesn't get the basics, next she's professor emeritus.

She also ignores, or doesn't notice what is Nikolai truly asking. He isn't trying to understand mechanics of enemy's weapon to better fight it, he seems to believe he's against some world-destroyer that needs to be stopped. And you think that's what the Darkling is after? True creation?

hot take: Darklina's kid wouldn't be a Sun OR Shadow Summoner...

this theory goes against the regular Grisha power "inheritance" rules (if you're Grisha, one of your parents was the same type as you), but I don't care, bc neither Alina nor Aleksander were really "normal". & that shit w/Zoya & Juris still makes me salty (no spoilers though), OP ugh.

ANYWAY--

imagine the Darklina kid having the power of gravity, kinetic energy, or merzost itself (w/the harmful effects). let me explain.

gravity is unseen. stars are basically just balls of plasma held together by gravity & a lot of movements/phenomena we study concerning outer space is thanks to the gravitational pull of a star on other stuff. also, Aleks controls the unseen, in a way.

kinetic energy = movement in general. Gambit/Remy LeBeau from the X-Men (Marvel Comics) controls this, so he can make objects spontaneously combust OR slow things down. cue the ultimate form of Etherealki!!

merzost is, in short, forbidden magic that everyone finds unpredictable & costly. but Ilya Morozova had a pretty good handle on it. he was able to resurrect his daughter using it & his exposure to it altered his blood/DNA/whatever enough to give his descendants a new Grisha power (IDK why HE didn't become a Shadow Summoner). so a merzost Grisha might be an advanced Healer, able to completely resurrect & reconstitute people. maybe they could speak to spirits. tbh merzost is just witchy jurda parem.

I've seen lots of fics about the Reader being a "Star Summoner" or a "Moon Summoner"...if you use these ideas, please tag/credit me! I'd love to see your take on these--

so the grishaverse magic system is really interesting, since the main idea is not so much magic as manipulating science: bodies, elements, metal. it's literally called the small science. we can infer that the powers have to obey scientific laws, such as conservation of energy (energy cannot be created or destroyed) and this is mostly supported by the text: for example, tailors can change hair and eye colours, but only if they have a source of colour, they can't just create new colours. however, sun summoning is manipulating light and heat, which are both forms of energy. no energy creation means the summoned energy has to come from somewhere. you see where i'm going? if you take light away, you get shadow, since darkness is literally just the absence of light. so... what's the difference between sun summoner and shadow summoner powers? sun summoning manipulates light, but summons light from other areas. shadow summoning manipulates "darkness", which is just the absence of light, so it just... removes light from the current place to other areas? surely then you can just reverse the thinking to do shadow summoning as a sun summoner and vice versa? which makes the whole shadow/light conflict in ruin & rising a little less interesting. david could've told you the darkling had light powers from the start!

the only way this would work is if shadow summoning is not traditional darkness (aka absence of light) but its own energy source? not sure what that would be, though

Meet one of the planet’s smallest turtles: the bog turtle (Glyptemys muhlenbergii)! This petite reptile grows up to 4.5 in (11.4 cm) long. It’s easily identifiable by the orange patches on either side of its head.

The bog turtle has an impressive lifespan, with the oldest documented individual reaching an age of 61! Unfortunately, this species is critically endangered due in part to poaching and habitat loss as a result of human expansion.

THE RULES that I have been going off of, for everyone voting as if this were a fight to the death:

this is a regular episode of Danny Phantom

the cats are loose in Amity Park, this is not an arena or anything.

there are a lot of cats but they aren't trying to kill Danny in particular or are unrealistically aggressive, they are just cats, a good chunk of them being kittens or unable to fight, probably confused as to where they've been transported to

they act like normal feral cats do (there is a difference between ferals & strays). they are not smarter (they think cars are animals) or trained any more than in canon, which does not include fighting humans with technology that can trap cats (it is canon that they cannot fight this & do not train to fight this)

the cats do not have special superpowers that can oneshot Danny, because this is not canon in Warriors. they are literally just animal ghosts. i think they have prophetic visions about the clans, but I don't see how this helps them escape Danny's C&R program as it didn't help the last time

Danny has all of his canon powers

Danny has all of his "training" & practice from canon

Danny has all of the canon Fenton tech, maybe even ghost proof live traps because let's be real, Maddie & Jack would immediately make a bunch if there was a ghost cat problem

Danny has the benefit of looking up "how to catch feral cats"

Danny has help from whoever he is allied with in canon

we're all stupid because this is not the question we should be focusing on

we should be focusing on how the hell Starclan suddenly disappearing would affect the clans

Danny would win, but it would take him months to catch all of them & he would suffer the whole time

he's a dog person too so he wouldn't know how to handle them. Sam would be able to handle them but as soon as any of them start to warm up to Danny (probably like Pinestar or another warrior-turned-kittypet) Cujo would show up & they'd all scatter

except for Swiftpaw, he'd probably fight Cujo, traumatizing him & making it impossible for him to get along with cats in the future, obviously making the situation worse
