American education has all the downsides of standardization, none of the upsides
Tumblr media
Catch me in Miami! I'll be at Books and Books in Coral Gables on Jan 22 at 8PM.
Tumblr media
We moved to America in 2015, in time for my kid to start third grade. Now she's a year away from graduating high school (!) and I've had a front-row seat for the US K-12 system in a district rated as one of the best in the country. There were ups and downs, but high school has been a monster.
We're a decade and a half into the "common core" experiment in educational standardization. The majority of the country has now signed up to a standardized and rigid curriculum that treats overworked teachers as untrustworthy slackers who need to be disciplined by measuring their output through standard lessons and evaluations:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_Core
This system is rigid enough, but it gets even worse at the secondary level, especially when combined with the Advanced Placement (AP) courses, which adds another layer of inflexible benchmarks to the highest-stakes, most anxiety-provoking classes in the system:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advanced_Placement
It is a system singularly lacking in grace. Ironically, this unforgiving system was sold as a way of correcting the injustice at the heart of the US public education system, which funds schools based on local taxation. That means that rich neighborhoods have better funded schools. Rather than equalizing public educational funding, the standardizers promised to ensure the quality of instruction at the worst-funded schools by measuring the educational outcomes with standard tools.
But the joke's on the middle-class families who backed standardized instruction over standardized funding. Their own kids need slack as much as anyone's, and a system that promises to put the nation's kids through the same benchmarks on the same timetable is bad for everyone:
https://pluralistic.net/2021/11/28/give-me-slack-2/
Undoing this is above my pay-grade. I've already got more causes to crusade on than I have time for. But there is a piece of tantalyzingly low-hanging fruit that is dangling right there, and even though I'm not gonna pick it, I can't get it out of my head, so I figured I'd write about it and hope I can lazyweb it into existence.
The thing is, there's a reason that standardization takes hold in so many domains. Agreeing on a common standard enables collaboration by many entities without any need for explicit agreements or coordination. The existence of the ANSI/SAE J563 standard automobile auxiliary power outlet (AKA "car cigarette lighter") didn't just allow many manufacturers to make replacement lighter plugs. The existence of a standardized receptacle delivering standardized voltage to standardized contacts let all kinds of gadgets be designed to fit in that socket.
Standards crystallize the space of all possible ways of solving a problem into a range of solutions. This inevitably has a downside, because the standardized range might not be optimal for all applications. Think of the EU's requirement for USB-C charger tips on all devices. There's a lot of reasons that manufacturers prefer different charger tips for different gadgets. Some of those reasons are bad (gouging you on replacement chargers), but some are good (unique form-factor, specific smart-charging needs). USB-C is a very flexible standard (indeed, it's so flexible that some people complain that it's not a standard at all!) but there are some applications where the optimal solution is outside its parameters.
And still, I think that the standardization on USB-C is a force for good. I have drawers full of gadgets that need proprietary charger tips, and other drawers full of chargers with proprietary tips, and damned if I can make half of them match up. We've continued our pandemic lockdown tradition of my wife cutting my hair in the back yard, and just tracking the three different charger tips for the three clippers she uses is an ongoing source of frustration. I'd happily trade slightly sub-optimal charging for just being able to plug any of those clippers into the same cable I charge my headphones, phone, tablet and laptop on.
The standardization of American education has produced all the downsides of standardization – a rigid, often suboptimal, one-size-fits-all system – without the benefits. With teachers across America teaching in lockstep, often from the same set texts (especially in the AP courses), there's a massive opportunity for a commons to go with the common core.
For example, the AP English and History classes my kid takes use standard texts that are often centuries old and hard to puzzle out. I watched my kid struggle with texts for learning about "persuasive rhetoric" like 17th century pamphlets that inspired anti-indigenous pogroms with fictional accounts of "Indian atrocities."
It's good for American schoolkids to learn about the use of these blood libels to excuse genocide, but these pamphlets are a slog. Even with glossaries in the textbooks, it's a slow, word-by-word matter to parse these out. I can't imagine anyone learning a single thing about how speech persuades people just by reading that text.
But there's nothing in the standardized curriculum that prevents teachers from adding more texts to the unit. We live in an unfortunate golden age for persuasive texts that inspire terrible deeds – for example, kids could also read core Pizzagate texts and connect the guy who shot up the pizza parlor to the racists who formed a 17th century lynchmob.
But teachers are incredibly time-constrained. For one thing, at least a third of the AP classroom time seems to be taken up with detailed instructions for writing stilted, stylized "essays" for the AP tests (these are terrible writing, but they're easy to grade in a standardized way).
That's where standardization could actually deliver some benefits. If just one teacher could produce some supplemental materials and accompanying curriculum, the existence of standards means that every other teacher could use it. What's more, any adaptations that teachers make to that unit to make them suited to their kids would also work for the other teachers in the USA. And because the instruction is so rigidly standardized, all of these materials could be keyed to metadata that precisely identified the units they belonged to.
The closest thing we have to this are "marketplaces" where teachers can sell each other their supplementary materials. As far as I can tell, the only people making real money from these marketplaces are the grifters who built them and convinced teachers to paywall the instructional materials that could otherwise form a commons.
Like I said, I've got a completely overfull plate, but if I found myself at loose ends, trying to find a project to devote the rest of my life to, I'd be pitching funders on building a national, open access portal to build an educational commons.
It may be a lot to expect teachers to master the intricacies of peer-based co-production tools like Git, but there's already a system like this that K-8 teachers across the country have mastered: Scratch. Scratch is a graphic programming environment for kids, and starting with 2019's Scratch 3.0, the primary way to access it is via an in-browser version that's hosted at scratch.mit.edu.
Scratch's online version is basically a kid- (and teacher-)friendly version of Github. Find a project you like, make a copy in your own workspace, and then mod it to suit your own needs. The system keeps track of the lineage of different projects and makes it easy for Scratch users to find, adapt, and share their own projects. The wild popularity of this system tells us that this model for a managed digital commons for an educational audience is eminently achievable.
So when students are being asked to study the rhythm of text by counting the numbers of words in the sentences of important speeches, they could supplement that very boring exercise by listening to and analyzing contemporary election speeches, or rap lyrics, or viral influencer videos. Different teachers could fork these units to swap in locally appropriate comparitors – and so could students!
Students could be given extra credit for identifying additional materials that slot into existing curricular projects – Tiktok videos, new chart-topping songs, passages from hot YA novels. These, too, could go into the commons.
This would enlist students in developing and thinking critically about their curriculum, whereas today, these activities are often off-limits to students. For example, my kid's math teachers don't hand back their quizzes after they're graded. The teachers only have one set of quizzes per unit, and letting the kids hold onto them would leak an answer-key for the next batch of test-takers.
I can't imagine learning math this way. "You got three questions wrong but I won't let you see them" is no way to help a student focus on the right areas to improve their understanding.
But there's no reason that math teachers in a commons built around the (unfortunately) rigid procession of concepts and testing couldn't generate procedural quizzes, specified with a simple programming language. These tests could even be automatically graded, and produce classroom stats on which concepts the whole class is struggling with. Each quiz would be different, but cover the same ground.
When I help my kid with her homework, we often find disorganized and scattered elements of this system – a teacher might post extensive notes on teaching a specific unit. A publisher might produce a classroom guide that connects a book to specific parts of the common core. But these are scattered across the web, and they aren't keyed to the specific, standard components of common core and AP.
This is a standardized system that is all costs, no benefits. It has no "architecture of participation" that lets teachers, students, parents, practitioners and even commercial publishers collaborate to produce a commons that all may share and improve upon.
In an ideal world, we'd get rid of standardization in education, pay teachers well, give them the additional time they needed to prepare exciting and relevant curriculum, and fund all our schools based on need, not parents' income.
But in the meanwhile, we could be making lemonade of out lemons. If we're going to have standardization, we should at least have the collaboration standards enable.

First, I applaud their efforts to stop senseless violence, even if I personally think it is as much wasted air as thoughts and prayers. The "Lightguard system" is a non-starter, it will make things much less safe than the actual confrontation itself. Here is their "proof of concept" clip.
youtube
First, we're in 2023 not 2003 lets make this a little more presentable and less like a high school digital project.
I'm speaking as someone who spent a career as an LEO and in the military, when I make these observations I'm not just shooting from the hip as it were. This clip shows the offender dropping their gun and running away blind, and the clerk looking back at your system lovingly, two problems. 1. Your clerk would also be blinded, thus rendered defenseless to anything that follows on. Light of this magnitude is all encompassing, it will bounce off every surface and it will blind in all directions except for maybe directly behind it. The light will not care if the person is looking at it or away from it. Everyone recovers from this kind of event exposure differently, the criminal may recover before the clerk. 2. The very last thing you want to do when someone is pointing a gun at you is to shock them or surprise them. There is a greater than average chance that the activation of your system will scare the criminal causing them to shoot reflexively. Now you have a clerk who had a criminal pointing a gun at them shooting blindly. As I said, good in concept, but practical application may need a little more attention. Also see strobing firearms lights, strobing crowd control and Laser dazzlers systems. As for "Smart guns", where to start? One of the two companies mentioned LodeStar, admits the fingerprint sensor may not be the most effective means to unlock the firearm for use, think your phones finger print reader and how often it fails. So they added a PIN pad AND a near-field communication signal to increase the probability that their concept would work. They had to put a finger print reader, an electronic signal receiver and a freaking PIN pad in the weapon. That tells me two things, the tech is so bad that they had to put multiple systems together to TRY to ensure the firearm would work most of the time and if you are putting your life on the line hoping all of those gadgets work when you need them too you are already dead. LodeStar says their firearm's will start at about 895.00 or about 355.00+/- more than your standard Glock 19 Gen 5. Every time I type LodeStar I hear... "Not so fast Lonestar!" from Spaceballs (1987), I digress. The other company, SmartGunz, is marketing towards Law Enforcement with a side market to everyone else. Their concept requires an RFID chip to make the firearm work, Oh, but there's more. Their concept only works on a 1911 style firearm, it will only work if the user depresses the grip safety WHILE ALSO WEARING A FREAKING RFID GLOVE to activate it. I don't know about all y'all but I don't often walk around or sleep with a glove on like I'm Michael Jackson.
Tumblr media
Sorry Mike, I still love your music. On 8 July 2021 the firearms were projected to cost 2,695.00 for LEO's and an astounding 2,995.00 for all the rest of us peasants. I say "US" because I am no longer an LEO and can't get their gracious discount. On 12 July of that same year Tom Holland, president of Free State Firearms, LLC announced that the cost for pre-orders would be 1,795.00 for LEO's and the low price of 1,995.00 for everyone else. As far as 1911's go that is the cost of a Colt Gold Cup Trophy or a Dan Wesson Valor 1911 without all that tech to get in the way of you saving your own life. It's also the cost of 3 Glock 19 Gen 5's or or 3 Palmetto State Armory "PA-15 16"NITRIDE M4 CARBINE" 5.56mm riles. With all that said, these technologies are not in place to make the end user safer, they do nothing to address violent crime, it only lays the burden on the person who at their point of most need, when their mind is in survival mode, it adds roadblocks to their chances of survival. SIDE NOTE: A German company named Armatix came out with a smart gun in 2014, soon after people figured out that with magnets on the sides of the firearm it would bypass the guns radio signals and allow anyone to use it, it was pulled from the market there soon after.

My Top Posts in 2022:

As much as I love The Owl House for its lgbtq rep on the big screen coming from Disney, I feel like Ducktales 17 should really get more credit then it deserves for its rep! I mean literally they walked so TOH can run!
- Dt17 started in 2017, TOH started in 2020
- Violet canonically has two dads
- LP is canonically Bi
- Penumbra is canonically a Lesbian
- People who worked on the show drew art of Della and Penumbra together
- Gyro is labeled as a chicken but DOESNT have features that other roosters in the show has, and his outfit from the flashbacks from Astro BOYD can probably show he is transcoded!
-Similar stuff with Violet! In real life, Violet Saberwings are only Male but in the show, she is a Violet Saberwing, hence her name and a female! She is also transcoded according to me bc I make the rules!
- Boyd was given the opportunity to chose his identity and his own proper name at the end of his episode, and he took it! and that in itself is rep!
- Lena got to choose her own identity and was still discovering herself in season 2&3
- Thanks to @bardicinspiration-blog for mentioning this! Webby is Scrooge’s clone but they are different genders! However with May and June being Webby’s clones, they are both female! Which means that either Scrooge or Webby are trans!
So as my point proves, DUCKTALES 17 DESERVES THE AWARD FOR LGBTQ REP IN DISNEY FIRST!!

Ib
I was recently reminded that this blog existed, and when I went back to check I noticed that I never finished writing those posts about my MTG x D&D card designs. I was going to make a new write-up about some other characters, before I went back to my notes and realized I already had something all written and ready, so here you go! Note that I wrote this somewhere at the end of 2022, so when I say "recently" it's not actually recent anymore, haha.
---
Whenever I talk about Kavrin, I act like he was this fan favorite character that everyone really liked. Uhh, he wasn’t. In reality, Ib was that character (at least, for the high school group), so I knew from the start I had to have a card for him.
Ib’s deal is that he’s an exceptionally smart goblin who has a penchant for inventing bizzare and unweildly devices. Here was the first design I created to try and capture that:
June 2021
Tumblr media
This design was pretty directly inspired by a pre-existing card from Throne of Eldraine:
Tumblr media
The idea of making a random token each turn I thought would fit with Ib’s erratic inventiveness. You never quite know what he’ll make for you, but you always know it’ll be an artifact with some sort of activated ability, and that pushes this card towards some sort of artifact deck. All around, pretty neat!
Ib stayed like this for a while, even up until I was creating the mock-ups to have them printed earlier this year. I only started to get a little uncomfortable with this design fairly recently, when I thought about how hard it is to actually make use of the trinkets Ib makes for you. They all cost so much mana to activate that part of me felt like you never would, and really Ib might as well just make you a blank artifact for artifact synergies instead.
That’s not nearly as cool, so I thought of ways to fix it. What if Ib’s trinkets had a cheaper cost, but they sacrificed themselves, so you only got one use out of them? Well, Magic already defines more than three artifact tokens that sacrifice themselves: Clues, Treasure, and Food. Just have Ib make one of those at random! Except, none of those have the cool artificer flavor that Ib has. He’s supposed to make you some strange device, not food.
Okay, fine, the sacrifice idea is out. How else could I make Ib more exciting given that all his tokens have a prohibitivly high cost to use them?
September 2022
Tumblr media
Simple, just have Ib let you activate them for free! Ib also uses the “roll a d20” technology that wasn’t introduced to the game until the D&D crossover sets for added flavor.
For those of you less versed in magic-ese, here’s what this card does in simple english. Some artifact cards have abilities that are denoted as COST : EFFECT, with the COST and EFFECT separated by the colon. You can activate them all you want while the card's on the board, as long as you can pay the COST. Normally, you always have to pay the COST to get the EFFECT, but here Ib lets you get the EFFECT for free if it’s the first ability you activate that turn. So, for example, if Ib makes the gadget that lets you draw a card, instead of paying 3 mana and tapping the artifact, you can just draw the card. This is really cool!
Magic players love trying to “break” cards, where they find some combination that causes what would otherwise be a good or even mundane effect totally game-winning. Let’s play that game with Ib!
Tumblr media
Get the best card out of my deck once per turn for free? Don’t mind if I do!
Tumblr media
Remember that abilities are formatted as COST : EFFECT, so you can activate lux cannon’s second ability without removing any counters if you have Ib on the field. Blow up a permanent every turn? Seems pretty good to me!
Tumblr media
Take infinite turns? Oh, so these two cards just win the game if you play them both… Well, at least the sieve here is in a different color from Ib, so you have to be three or more colors to play them both.
Tumblr media
Oh, this one’s colorless. Wait, no - stop, hold on…
Tumblr media
…yeah, okay, this version of Ib is pretty busted.
Still, it’s not impossible to salvage - and the fix is pretty subtle, too. See if you can spot it!
Final Version
Tumblr media
Now his ability only blanks the mana cost; you still have to pay non-mana costs. So, he still works with planar bridge, but now you would have to remove the counters from lux cannon, you would have to sacrifice five artifacts with time sieve, and you would have to sacrifice mindslaver if you want to use those effects. Phew!

Small, Fast, Slower Than Qi Android 15 NFC Wireless Charging
Tumblr media
Although NFC wireless charging is slower than Qi wireless charging, Android 15 may support it because fewer hardware is needed.
Qi wireless charging coil When a smartphone has wireless battery charging capabilities, the Qi standard is usually used. Future Android 15-capable smartphones, however, might feature NFC Wireless Charging, which offers an alternative method of wireless charging. In any case, whether or not this method is less efficient than the Qi standard, Google appears to be working on finding a way to integrate this technology into models that are supported.
NFC wireless charging is perfect for small smartphones since it requires less hardware to function For Qi-enabled devices with larger wireless charging coils, NFC Wireless Charging may overcome this problem using contactless payment technologies. Despite its May 2020 debut, NFC Wireless Charging (WLC) has not received significant use. Its slower charging speeds than Qi may explain this. Flexible charging antennae fit wireless earbuds, Bluetooth trackers, smart watches, and more. They can be 1 cm.
With the anticipated release of Android 15 later this year, NFC wireless charging Android 15 Compatibility and an influx of WLC enabled accessories could be seen. The NFC APIs of the operating system now support WLC, according to Missal Rahman of Android Authority, who also claims that the Android 15 beta 1 has these features. According to the article, Google made an attempt to implement WLC support in late 2021 nearly a year and a half after the standard was initially published but eventually shelved all of her plans.
Google did not provide a reason for why it would revive its shelved project, but other goods like Bluetooth trackers which can be coupled with an Android phone could also benefit from this inclusion, in addition to small smartphones. These trackers and other accessories would be easy to maintain and charge with the integration of NFC wireless charging.
But integrating support into software is one thing; adding it as a feature to other items is quite another. Hopefully, additional information on this will be provided at the forthcoming I/O keynote.
There may be a new wireless charging feature for Android 15 devices. Android is going to introduce NFC wireless charging functionality for your devices. Wireless charging usually conjures up the Qi standard. Qi wireless charging is embedded into many everyday smart devices. It has been around for a long. However, Qi wireless charging is either rare or nonexistent for a large number of smaller electronic gadgets. This is due to the possibility that smaller devices lack the internal space necessary to accommodate a coil large enough to receive enough power. The industry group that promotes Near Field Communication (NFC), which enables contactless payments, created the NFC Wireless Charging (WLC) protocol. NFC wireless charging, introduced in May 2020, employs far smaller antennas than Qi. NFC wireless charging antennas are designed to fit into minuscule smart devices such as tracker tags, smartwatches, styluses, and earphones. They are packaged in a bending, flexible PCB and can be smaller than 1cm. To save even more space, the same antenna can also be utilized for conventional NFC data transfers. It would be logical to replace the NFC chip used in many smaller, low-power devices (such as tracker tags) that handles basic data transfers with a single antenna that handles charging and communication.
NFC wireless charging was introduced about four years ago, however it is still not widely used in many consumer goods. Major operating systems like Android may not support all platforms, which could be one cause for that. However, NFC Wireless Charging will soon be supported by the forthcoming Android 15 version, which may open the door for a large number of WLC-capable accessories to become available.
Android NFC Wireless Charging We saw that Google made considerable changes to the NFC stack of the operating system when it published Android 15 beta 1 last week. For instance, a class named NFC Charging is now included in the system app that manages NFC-related events; it can read the charging information payloads received via NFC, initiate and stop NFC charging, and perform other functions. While the class mentions “version 1.0.0,” this most likely alludes to Android’s initial NFC Charging implementation, not WLC 1.0 (to put things in perspective, the NFC Forum revealed WLC 2.0 in late 2021; the only difference is that WLC 2.0 enables even lower antenna sizes).
WLC-related enhancements to the operating system’s NFC APIs which aren’t yet available in AOSP are also included in Android 15 beta 1. It’s notable that Google gave up on its initial attempt to add WLC support in late 2021, over a year and a half after the standard was originally made public. However, Google seems to have rekindled interest in adding WLC support to Android earlier this year, so why now?
Tracker tags may be one fascinating use for NFC wireless charging. In addition to having tiny batteries that don’t need much power to recharge (WLC can send up to 1W of electricity over a distance of 2cm) and already having NFC chips so they can transmit information about their owner to anyone discovers them, tracker tags are frequently too thin to contain a Qi wireless charging coil. While some tracker tags contain non-rechargeable batteries, several already tout up to a year of battery life, such as those that work with Android’s Find My Device network. It would be easier to charge and less expensive to maintain future tracker tags if they supported NFC wireless charging.
Stylus charging represents an additional possible use case. As NFC Wireless Charging is really built into the USI 2.0 specification, NFC charging is already possible for USI 2.0 styluses that are now available on the market. But in order to charge them, you’ll still need an NFC charging transmitter-equipped compatible device.
Hopefully, wireless charging will be more common in smaller gad gets like earbuds, styluses, smartwatches, and tracker tags once NFC Wireless Charging functionality is integrated into Android.

Code Your Castle: Crafting a Personalized Smart Home App Experience
Smart home automation uses IoT devices to control lighting, entertainment, security, other systems, and sensors that can identify gas or water leaks. People often access this ecosystem, including all of these gadgets, through their cell phones.
Brand and device incompatibility has been a major problem since Android objects and hubs first hit the market. You must now choose your home automation technologies carefully if you want to control your house. If not, you run the danger of not finding enough devices that work and having to switch between multiple apps.
Although creating a smart home app can seem like a difficult undertaking, it is possible to succeed if you have the correct resources and tools. Using a smartphone or tablet, homeowners may operate multiple features of their home with a smart home app. This can involve managing appliances, security systems, lights, and thermostats.
Choosing the features you want to include is the first step in creating a smart home app. The kind of equipment and gadgets that are currently placed in your house will determine this. For instance, your app must be able to manage your smart lightbulbs. To properly incorporate various devices into your app, it's critical to learn about and comprehend their capabilities.
According to Fortune Business Insights, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 21.1%, the worldwide smart home market is projected to increase from USD 99.89 billion in 2021 to USD 380.52 billion in 2028.
What's Driving the Development of Smart Home Automation Apps?
The advancement of technology and consumer expectations have both increased dramatically in recent years. The need for a centralized control system has grown as more and more individuals purchase smart home appliances. Smart home apps are useful because consumers want to manage their homes with efficiency and convenience.
Accessibility of Hardware Components
The growing availability of hardware components is a major element contributing to the exponential rise of smart home apps. Numerous hardware components, such as cameras, sensors, and smart devices, have become much more accessible and affordable for customers due to noteworthy technological developments.
With this increased accessibility, developers have a variety of possibilities for smoothly integrating smart home technologies into applications, improving the overall user experience. Because of this, it is now much easier for developers and users to enter the market, which has led to the growth of a vibrant ecosystem of creative and user-focused smart home apps.
Environmental protection standards and regulations
Concerns regarding data security and privacy have grown as smart home apps have become more and more common. Developers of these apps must go by stringent guidelines and rules for data privacy, especially in the entertainment industry, as more personal data is gathered and retained by them.
To achieve this, strong encryption techniques must be used, security procedures must be updated frequently, and user agreement must be obtained before collecting and using data. Developers may guarantee that their creative smart home apps are safe and secure for customers by adhering to these standards and guidelines.
Market Value
It is anticipated that the worldwide smart home app market will reach a valuation of over $140 billion by 2027 after seeing exponential growth in the next few years. This quick expansion might be linked to many factors, including technological improvements, the increased availability of reasonably priced gadgets, and the growing demand for comfort, convenience, and energy efficiency in households. The market for smart home apps is anticipated to keep growing as more homes integrate smart home technology.
How to Develop a Home Automation App?
Although developing a smart home app could seem challenging, don't worry! The approach has been streamlined into seven key stages that will guide you through the growing process. Now let's get started with a smart home app!
1. Identify Your Automation Solution
The kind of solution you wish to provide should be your initial choice. Will it be an app designed specifically for one device or a full system that lets people easily control multiple devices? The latter offers a more engaging user experience, but the former is quicker and less expensive.
2. Plan of Development
Taking into account the particular requirements of your product, including the Internet of Things prototype development phase, decide whether to leverage an existing platform or create a custom solution from scratch. While using pre-built platforms can save money and effort, creating your equipment enables more specialized use. Finding a middle ground and beginning with an MVP's ready-made platform guarantees that you validate your product concept before making a significant investment.
3. Situations for Users
Create user scenarios to comprehend the actions your users will take to accomplish their objectives, taking into consideration the roles they will play specifically. By keeping the user's needs and behavior in mind, your app will be optimized to provide a smooth and fulfilling experience.
4. Essential Elements
To create a smart home application including registration, onboarding, user profiles, room grouping, configurable scenarios, alerts, notifications, and analytics. These characteristics set the stage for an intuitive and useful smart home app.
5. Compatibility of Devices
List the devices that your app is compatible with. A wide range of compatibility provides consumers with additional options, promoting a varied and inclusive user community. Make sure the technology platform you select supports a range of sensors and devices so that people may customize their smart homes.
6. Information Archiving
For data management, pick between local storage and cloud services. Local storage is a reliable option, but cloud storage is accessible from any location. Choose according to the unique requirements and user preferences of your app.
7. Safety Procedures
Set security as your top priority right now in this age of cyber dangers. Take advantage of encryption, advise users to connect to different networks, and patch and update your program regularly. Incorporate security gates into your architecture to thwart possible intrusions.
Conclusion
Apps for smartphones are now a need for practically every home. In addition to giving homeowners complete control over everything via their cell phones, it also guarantees the highest level of security. The same smart home software can be used to integrate and operate numerous systems or appliances.
With the help of our feature-rich and comprehensive smart home apps, discover the future of smart living. Explore a world of instant convenience, adaptability, safety, energy economy, financial savings, and remote control. Greetings from a connected and intelligent home of the future.

ASIC miners are specialised hardware units that are designed to mine cryptocurrency. Some miners report that producer A1246 PSUs can fail, hash boards can fail, and a few batches hash as a lot as 5 TH/s lower than expected. For hash board failures Canaan will ship a replacement so that miners can set up it themselves to minimize downtime. Also, Canaan supplies miners with up to date firmware to autotune chips with high temperature readings. According to HoneyMiner’s website you could make anyplace between $15-$75 a month assuming you might have at least one graphics card. Keep in mind this does not include the electrical energy value for running HoneyMiner. We warrant the product, its elements and labor to be free from defects in material and workmanship under regular uses outlined in consumer manuals and this Warranty in the course of the guarantee period. Although Scrypt was designed to be ASIC-resistant, ASIC Scrypt miners have been subsequently developed and have since positioned CPU rigs at a aggressive disadvantage. ASIC crypto mining entails using specialised hardware to unravel complex cryptographic algorithms and earn rewards in the form of cryptocurrency. The mining course of works by verifying transactions on the blockchain community and adding them to the ledger. To do this, miners use their ASIC machines to resolve mathematical problems and create a brand new block on the blockchain. Yes, crypto mining can still be worthwhile relying on how it’s accomplished and what crypto you’re mining. The miner is available in the Antminer Distribution Shop for $3,099. However, the client will wait no less than a month to get the gear. As a rule, the payback of an ASIC takes no much less than six months (in case of the cheap electrical energy and a rise in the mined coin rate). If you are a small time miner, you might have to promote your coins on a retail trade like Kraken or Binance. Sometimes your fees are low but typically your fees are excessive - it actually just is dependent upon the fee construction of the exchange and the state of the orderbook at the moment. The more computing energy a machine has, the more options (and therefore, block rewards) a miner is more probably to discover. This publish will discover the most effective mining hardware in the marketplace and the way to purchase them. These are places the place huge warehouses are constructed, and enormous numbers of ASIC miners are hauled inside to mine Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies 24/7. Finding one of the best Bitcoin ASIC miner is tough when you are getting began. In an trade where change is the one fixed, it's hard to keep up with the entire new updates, and make sense the knowledge that exists.
