#smartphone that desperately needs an upgrade

Is Beth just always active and like projected or can she turn off the projector and just be a voice inside Kaita's head? Could she go a step further and just not even exist in the physical world and be gooberin around in Kaita's OS or something? Could she villain arc and just possess her?
I have a problem btw
Tumblr media
unfortunately you asked a simple question so now you get the needlessly complicated answer
Kaita's artificial brain is designed in such a fashion that'd be hard for Beth to just hack like a normal computer. Her frontal lobe works on artificial neurons that create thoughts, behaviors, and impulses that are then regulated by another component that works like the brain stem and cerebellum. Effectively, every part of her could technically work as a prosthetic version of its organic counterpart, including the brain, so you'd need to know how to "hack" human impulses in order to even begin to say, overwrite who she is.
However, the wolf also has a more mundane smartphone chip installed on her that her brain can directly use at the speed of thought that allows her to interface with other devices, and is easy to replace or upgrade without messing with the brain itself. Think like a simple computer with linux or a stripped down Android OS that your brain is hooked up to that it can mess with in any way it wants, to make calls or save memes or something, while the phone can't do anything to the brain besides sending signals to the optic and audio feeds.
Beth likewise is an AI designed to only exist physically as a chip on her own phone. This phone is installed on Kaita in a similar fashion to the wolf's own on-board smartphone, through which Kaita can talk privately to Beth and see the AI do stupid shit on her HUD. Like, a more bitchy Cortana. Beth doesn't like wasting power or always being seen, so she usually only peeks out when she feels like it in the first place. She very often is just a voice or, if she's feeling nonverbal, a series of dialogue boxes Kaita sees as notifications from her phone's OS.
In terms of possession, there's technically a workaround; her hardlight body can produce electrical signals, and if she was really desperate and persistent could sort of jam her projected form onto Kaita's brain stem that way, but it'd be very very taxing to pull off unless Kaita for some reason allows Beth to do it, usually only as an agreed upon emergency measure if the wolf is incapacitated/deeply unconscious.
The picture above basically only happens because Kaita trusts Beth not to do something stupid. She's probably a bit mentally tired from something, and is letting Beth take control so she can "rest" a little. It only takes a little bit of mental effort on Kaita's part to eject Beth, but Beth lacks a physical body and sometimes Kaita feels a bit bad for the AI, so she lets her have some fun if it also means getting someone else to do a few menial tasks for her for once.
EDIT: forgot to mention; had koboldfactory's drawing of Beth in mind for drawing this one. Beth's design can often be asymmetrical and experimental but I really liked the mix of the sleeved and sleeveless look she came up with

This is not my usual type of post and isn’t ficto-community or waifuism related, but I’ve recently gone down the rabbit hole of objectum…? I hope I spelled that right. Anyway, I’m not an objectum person, but I find some of y’all’s content so cute and wholesome. I have a few electronic devices that I’m very attached to and love dearly. Each one of them has their own unique personality and name.
My Dell G15 laptop is an absolute unit and always likes to give me a bit of an attitude at times, but she’s my pride and joy, as she’s one of the many Dell computers that I’ve owned since 2010. I like to think that the spirit of her first model lives on throughout each upgrade of her, hence her personality staying the same even over a decade later. My iPad Pro, Iris, was given to me by the university that I graduated from, and though I’ve never owned an Apple product up until that point, I’ve grown attached to her and use her pretty frequently to make digital art and design work. She’s been there for me throughout my entire time in university. My smartphone, Four, is small but very powerful. She’s been through a lot, being dropped multiple times and almost being forgotten about at work or other places, but has managed to stay in almost perfect condition… Despite escaping and falling out of my hoodie pocket many times. 🤣
I have a 2005 Toyota Corolla that my best friend named Strawberry Jam, and is the first ever car that I’ve owned. He’s not the prettiest car on the road, and he’s in desperate need of a new top coat, that I’m hoping I can one day afford, but he’s got me through a lot. He’s seen me at my best and worst. He’s a trooper, honestly, and I hope he can forgive me for the many times that I’ve hit a curb or pothole. When the day comes that I might have to replace my beloved boy, I hope I’m able to get another Corolla, so that- like my Dell- he can live on and we can keep going on adventures together. ♥️
It’s silly how humans can get so attached to objects and create pack bonds with random stuff, but at the same time, I find it wholesome. Our belongings are a part of us and give a glimpse into who we are as a person, and I find that really sweet.

Quiet Strength
Tumblr media
Category: Mild Romantic Fluff
Fandom: My Hero Academia
Characters: Katsuki Bakugo, Ochako Uraraka
Greetings, all~! Here is my next entry for the @bnhabookclub’s Bingo Event, for the prompt “First Aid”! Kacchako stans, come get y’all food! \^u^/
Thundering howls of laughter rumbled from Katsuki’s throat as his gauntleted fist crashed through the solid boulder, sending pebbles and baseball-sized rocks sailing in every direction. Steam billowed from the magma seeping from the ultra-hot stone he had essentially liquified with the power of his explosion; the wispy white smoke kissed his sweaty, flushed face and tickled his tousled blonde locks before disappearing into the air. He yanked his fist from the crumbled rock, flexing his fingers experimentally, and hissed at the stinging pain that bloomed across his palm.
What had been the flame-retardant leather devised by the Support Course was now nothing more than a few tattered scraps barely clinging together. Dammit. Now I’ll have to submit for an upgrade. Who knows how long that crap’ll take? He scowled and shook his hand in the air. The bright pink skin wailed at the contact with the rushing wind, sending tendrils of fiery pain jolting up his arm and even into the junction of his shoulder. Katsuki ignored the sharp tingle, stepping over the destroyed piles of rocks to pick his way back down the slope to the floor of the gym.
“Wow, Bakugo!” Eijirou’s ruby eyes glittered in admiration. “You made short work of those boulders! Even in Unbreakable Mode, it took me a few hits!”
“Of course I did, dumbass,” Katsuki snorted and snatched his water bottle from the floor. He winced; in his lack of thought, he had grabbed the plastic container with his dominant hand- the burned one. The condensation littering the cold surface seeped into the singed flesh, making the raw meat there scream in agony. Katsuki only clenched his teeth and sucked down the water, then tossed the now-empty bottle into the garbage can in the corner.
“All right. You all have been at it for two hours,” Mr. Aizawa frowned while glancing at the screen of his smartphone. The gym echoed with exhausted gasps and reeked with the stench of exertion. “You’re done for the day.” Katsuki flexed his hand again, scowling as the pain rocketed through his nerves once more.
~~~~~~~~~~
“Fuck!” Katsuki exclaimed as the water cascaded down onto his wounded palm. He hadn’t anticipated the burn would be so severe. The skin over his fingers and palm bubbled up in several blisters, already filled with fluid though it hadn’t been thirty minutes. The water, though only lukewarm, felt like lava streaming over the injured skin. Katsuki fumbled to wash his body and hair with his non-dominant hand, keeping the burning flesh well away from the shower’s thundering stream. He didn’t even use it to towel himself dry.
“God damn son of a bitch,” he grumbled under his breath as he clumsily fumbled into his sweatpants and a tee-shirt. Why couldn’t it have been his other hand? “Fuckfuckfuck!” he cried as he lost his balance and began hopping around on one foot, his leg half-caught in the thick fabric of the sweats. An angry roar burst from his throat as he slipped in a small puddle of water and fell hard right on his rump. His tailbone wailed protest, spasming the muscles in his lower back, and he unleashed every curse in the dictionary and then some as he writhed on the damp bathroom floor. The skin of his palm pulsed with its own heartbeat, sending fireworks of pain up his arm with every drum. “Fuck me.”
Somehow, he managed to get his clothes on, finally. However, now on top of the burn, his lower back was aching something terrible. He limped into the common room, ignoring the content chattering of his classmates on the sofas to instead hobble into the kitchen. He winced at the stretch as he reached up to begin rifling through cabinets for painkillers and burn cream. He was too invested in his search to see Ochako meander into the kitchen to pour herself a glass of milk.
“Oh, Katsuki!”
“Jesus Christ-! Fuck, shit, fuck, damn it, ahh!” he cursed as he jumped and slammed his burned palm on the underside of the counter. Holding his wrist, he leaned over the granite and wheezed out an exaggerated whine. “What?!” he snarled as the girl scampered over to him.
“Your hand! How did you get such a terrible burn?!” Katsuki ignored the question. Ochako’s brown eyebrows knitted together as she inspected the bubbly flesh of his palm and the clear, sticky liquid oozing from the blister that had just burst. Katsuki clicked his tongue at her simpering piteous expression.
“Stop lookin’ at me like that. I’m fine,” he huffed. He glanced into the cabinet and found that he had been groping around the Silvadene cream the entire time. With a snort, he plucked it from the cabinet and struggled to open it one-handed.
“L-let me!” Ochako insisted and snatched the short, squat bottle of medicine from him. Katsuki turned around to rest his back against the counter, watching with critical red eyes as she quickly removed the lid.
“I didn’t ask for your help, Uraraka.”
“No, you didn’t, but you’re getting it anyway,” she responded coolly, making the corner of his mouth twitch. She slathered a healthy chunk of the goopy liquid onto her first two fingers before gesturing with her chin. “Open up your hand and spread out your fingers.” Though he loathed the fact that he required aid, refusing her now wasn’t worth the energy. Silently, he did as bid. His shoulders twinged with the flexion of his burned fingers. Ochako slopped the bright white cream onto the middle of his palm, and he melted into the countertop with a shaky exhale.
“Fuck, that feels good,” he breathed. Ochako smiled sweetly and began spreading the paste across his palm and up onto the undersides of his fingers. A cooling numb spread over the inflamed cells, quieting the piercing pain that had been pulsing in his hand since training had ended. He watched her careful motions with lidded eyes.
“You should be careful, you know,” she chastised him gently. “Even you have your limits. I know you want to get stronger, but nothing will come of pushing yourself to the point that it’s destructive.” Katsuki clicked his teeth at her, cocking his head to the side in a vain gesture. Ochako only smiled and applied a second layer of burn cream to his hand.
“You’re one to talk, Cheeks. What was that whole business with tryin’ to drop the stadium on my head, ah?” The Sports Festival had been months ago, but Katsuki still remembered their fight vividly. The way her body wobbled and sagged to the side, how she struggled with trembling arms to even bear her own weight, the glaze in her chestnut eyes as she struggled to keep her consciousness… His eyelashes fluttered to banish the illusion of the scene as she spoke.
“I have the authority to speak on it because I’ve been there,” she sighed. She stopped her ministrations to hold Katsuki’s hand up with both her own, Silvadene-coated fingertips smearing the medicine over the top of his hand. “Sometimes… everyone else just seems so great in comparison that it feels like I’ll never catch up. In that fight, I was so desperate to prove that I belong here… but it was destructive. I will grow stronger, but with time and effort, not with leaps and bounds born from destroying my body.” Katsuki’s eyes widened as he looked at her. The truth rang hollowly in him. Begrudged as he was to admit it, she was totally right. She smiled warmly up at him and then flicked him in the forehead.
“Hey,” he warned, and she giggled cutely.
“I don’t need another Deku on my hands! It’s bad enough that he’s broken half the bones in his body before the age of sixteen!” She exhaled deeply and retrieved a swathe of bandages. She unpinned the tan, thick fabric, then gently began rolling it around the palm of his hand. “You’ll get stronger, and I will too. We just both need time.” Katsuki frowned and looked away from her, debating whether or not to acknowledge the fact that she was right out loud.
“… All right, all right, I get your point,” Katsuki admitted after several seconds of silence. Ochako pinned the bandages with a small safety clasp and lowered her hands. The fabric was cumbersome around his hand and wrist, and he couldn’t even close his fist entirely. Still, the pain had been reduced to a dull ache that he could easily ignore with distraction. “Hey,” he said as she turned to retrieve her glass of milk, which still lay untouched on the countertop. When she looked back at him with an inquiring look, he blushed and pawed at his gym shorts, not really sure why he had stopped her.
“I, ugh… Thanks,” Katsuki fumbled and raised his bandaged hand. Ochako blinked at him, taking a moment to realize his gesture of gratitude, before smiling sweetly. Before she could respond, he abruptly grabbed her by the head and pulled her into his chest. She squeaked his name with her hands flapping about, not sure where she should place them.
“Hey,” he said softly. Ochako relaxed, and her hands drifted down to rest on his biceps. “You be careful, too. You think I’m stupid? I see you walking home every day wobbling like a drunk, and you threw up four fucking times at training today.” He felt heat bloom across his pectorals as her face heated up. He dropped his mouth against her hair, inhaling her scent of vanilla shampoo. “You be careful, too, dumbass. Who else is gonna take care of me when I go too far?”
“Hehe, okay,” she acknowledged with an eager nod. She pulled away from Katsuki to beam up at him with those big brown eyes that made his heart melt. Snorting at his sappiness, he lightly pushed her away, but the gesture was laced with affection. “Drink your milk, Cheeks. I’m goin’ to bed.”
“Aw! But we’re playing charades tonight!”
“Now I’m definitely goin’ to bed.” As he whirled on his heel, Ochako scampered up to hug his arm and bat her eyelashes pleadingly at him. Katsuki grimaced, but she grinned victoriously as a rosy haze spread over his cheeks.
“Please, Bakugo? Just a few rounds! You should see Kaminari’s impression of a crab; it’s too funny!”
“Agh, whatever, as long as you stop climbin’ all over me like a spider monkey!” he cried and shook his arm emphatically. She stubbornly clung to him like glue, cackling mischievously. “Come on! Let go!” he whined and pushed on her head. Finally, she relented, releasing him from her grip. “Bah, what am I going to do with you?” he growled and ran a hand through his ash-blond hair.
“Aw, Bakugo, don’t pretend you don’t like me!” she said coyly and stuck out her tongue. She gasped in dismay when he snatched up her glass of milk and drained it to the last drop. “Hey! That was mine!” she pouted and snatched the empty glass from him. Katsuki sneered and wiped his mouth with the back of his hand, eyes glittering playfully.
“That’s what you get for messin’ with me, Cheeks.”
“Ya big meanie!” she snorted, then smiled and nudged him in the ribs. She retrieved the gallon jug from the refrigerator and poured herself another, then skipped to the entryway. “Come on, let’s go!” she insisted and tugged the band of his watch. He allowed her to pull him along by jerking on the device. She smiled radiantly when they entered the common room, greeting their classmates and excitedly scampering over to the sofas to begin the game of charades. Bakugo leaned against the back of the couch, watching her with a tiny smile.
In his mind, Ochako really didn’t need to get stronger. She was plenty strong, but it was not the strength of a physical kind. It was a quiet strength of care and passion. Plenty strong for a reckless dumbass like me, he smirked in amusement. As she clapped happily to Eijirou’s comical rendition of a koala, she caught his eye and smiled warmly.
Plenty strong. Nothin’ frail about her.
My ‘Candace Against the Universe’ Thoughts (Obviously Spoilers!)
Here is my ‘running commentary’ from my second watch through of CATU. I wrote it down in a notebook while I was watching (back on release day!) but only just got a chance to type it up!
Obviously spoilers after the break
Such a Beautiful Day is SUCH a great start to the movie. It’s catchy, a really lovely song, and is the perfect example of a classic Phineas and Ferb song; great melody, and some kinda weird lyrics.
I noticed that the kids’ bikes were all strewn about on the drive as Candace runs in through the gate, super cute!
Phineas ran into the house to get started on Candace’s gift, while Ferb walked. Such an energetic boy.
I love that Vanessa made a U-turn instead of just reversing or stopping further up. It’s like she needed to check that it was actually Candace sitting on the steps.
ALSO what day does the majority of the movie take place? Is it the day after the giant juggling clown? Because if not, that’s a longgg day
Already lots of Ferb lines only a short way into the movie! I know David Errigo Jr. had a couple of lines in the MML crossover, but he’s really getting a good Official PnF debut!
Everyone has Smartphones! Instead of the flip phones everyone had in the series! That’s what we call progress!
The canoe is ridiculous from the get-go! I love it.
Even Perry’s watch has been upgraded!
Poor DE Inc is always getting damaged. Doof’s insurance must be through the roof (if he still had a roof)
I love the Alexa/Google Home jokes!
The whole smoothie scene is ridiculous, I love it a lot
You can hear Isabella arguing with Doof in the background about ‘starboard’, but Doof makes a good point, just say left or right!
The ‘Unsung Hero’ scene was really good, but it was hard to hear that actual song with all of the action noises going on. But the visuals were great to watch!
The Welcome Song was ridiculously funny.
FLOSSING!
The song ends so abruptly, which is weird. Very PnF, but weird. And the door scene was funny but went on a few seconds too long.
The meaning of ‘Candace’ is so dumb, I love it. You can tell it was a joke made in the writers’ room and they were just like ‘we need to include this’
Candace, honey, you’re actually super special, don’t put yourself down!
Who else called it early on that Candace wasn’t actually ‘The Chosen One’, and that other humans would have the Remarkalonium as well? Because I called it straight away.
The Space Adventure jokes fell a bit flat for me – Baljeet is too smart for the running joke to make any sense.
Every Isabella and Doof interaction is GOLD!
Why was there no payoff for the building noise joke (how Buford couldn’t hear the noise)?
The first time I watched, I didn’t notice that the funnel was present for loads of scenes (like most of Girls Day Out) before the scene in the dining room.
Also, Girls Day Out is a cute song!
I know Doof not knowing what a ‘click’ was was supposed to be funny, but what IS a click?
Adulting is one of those really dumb songs that is SO FUNNY that it’s good.
They do love geysers in Phineas and Ferb
Super Super Big Doctor and Candace’s handshake was cute.
WE DESERVE THE POWER BALLAD WE WERE PROMISED!
Obsessive, volatile, enchanting? Candace. (Aka Isabella, Baljeet and Buford nail the ‘describe Candace in 3 words’ thing)
The canoe smacking Doof in the face is so funny.
“Super Super Big Doofus” – one of my favourite lines. Isabella is just SO done.
“Okay, Isabella, while I love ominous patch related threats more than anyone” *Ferb clears his throat* “Right, apart from Ferb. Big fan.” – My FAVOURITE line from the movie! And 2nd favourite line overall, behind the one about ant pheromones. Phineas gets all the greatest lines.
Isabella has a Swiss Army Knife! Reminds me that she falls into the ‘looks like a cinnamon roll but could actually kill you’ category.
Aww Baljeet so desperately wants to be in Buford’s gang in prison
Major Monogram has AWFUL timing.
The whole escapee scene was SO dumb. (I wrote on my notes that it was funny, but it kinda dragged. It was funny, but it was SO LONG) (We could’ve had a tiny Phinabella scene in the amount of time that scene dragged on for!) (Or Canderemy or Ferbnessa, literally anything)
“I’m not… not… special.” Yes Candace, you ARE special! You just don’t need to be used to feed a mind control plant, is all!
The Battle Song was really silly and I found it so funny. Also, SSBD is dumb!
#BuildingMakesWeirdTone
Isabella giving Doof a patch is such a cute, quick little scene!
I LOVED the super-meta 4th wall gag.
16-year-old Vanessa can do Adulting, while the kiddos must wait until they’re 18.
“Selfie mode!” on the Chicken-Replace-Inator makes me giggle
The Axe-Inator and the ‘hidden’ self-destruct button made me snort SO HARD. I loved it.
Anything Phineas says is a good idea, usually (in reference to Phineas using a Space Adventure episode to help them out of a sticky situation. Obviously Phineas knows what’s a good idea and what isn’t)
Kitty Isabella robot! (I saw Carly reference this on Twitter and I was so confused until this scene)
Jeremy: “There’s an alien invasion?” I snorted again.
The double canoe payoff! Also “Yeah, yeah, I’ll make you a patch!”
When Candace ran off crying! No, honey, it’s okay!
“I don’t even drink coffee, I can’t do anything right!” Candace, honey, you don’t have to drink coffee out of a mug, you know.
I want the mug please. Can the Disney store please sell it. I saw Vincent Martella had one, please someone sell me one!
Why does Jeremy have gas masks in the Slushy Dog van?
The Jeremy and Stacy interaction was so funny! Especially Stacy’s teasing!
All main evil villains on Phineas and Ferb get redemption arcs. Doof, 2D Doof, SSBD. You’re not a main villain unless you get a redemption arc. You’re just a secondary villain if you don’t get one.
The ‘Vroblok’ joke at first was really weird, but when the boys did the thing for ‘Vlorkl’, it really gave the joke a great payoff
“OH!” as someone (was it Jeremy and Stacy? I didn’t note it down!) goes through the ‘O’ of the radio tower. So punny!
Candace is the best big sister, not busting the boys because it truly wasn’t their fault.
I LOVE Us Against the Universe! The choreography where they jump forward with their hands on their hips is so cute, I love that move so much, I’m not sure why, but it’s great!
Perry dancing in UATU! So adorable!
Bad timing again, Major Monogram.
And for the end scene: Hmm, why did they make the portal out of such flammable materials?
I loved the movie! Yeah, a couple of things were a bit weird, it dragged a little in some places, but overall it was AMAZING, and it was super funny! I really hope we get another movie!
Chapter 11
“But she’s let you in.”
And she’d already shown hints of how possessive she could be about that connection. I accepted that because it was a flaw I shared, but still…
“You’re analyzing this to death, Camila,” Cary said. “You’re thinking the way she feels about you has to be a fluke or a mistake. Someone like her couldn’t really be into you for your big heart and sharp mind, right?”
“My self-esteem isn’t that bad,” I protested.
He took a sip of his champagne. “Isn’t it? So tell me something you think she likes about you that doesn’t have to do with sex or codependency.”
I thought about it and came up empty, which made me scowl.
“Right,” he went on with a nod. “And if Jauregui is anywhere near as messed up as we are, she’s thinking the same thing in reverse, wondering what a hot babe like you sees in a girl like her. You’ve got money, so what has she got going for her besides being a stud who keeps screwing up?”
Sitting back in my chair, I absorbed everything he’d said. “Cary, I love you madly.”
He grinned. “Back atcha, sweets. My advice, for what it’s worth? Couples therapy. It’s always been my plan to get into it when I find the one I want to settle down with. And try to have fun with her. You’ve got to have as many good times as bad or it all becomes too painful and too much work.”
I reached over and squeezed his hand. “Thank you.”
“For what?” He shrugged off my gratitude with an elegant wave of his hand. “It’s easy to pick apart someone else’s life. You know I couldn’t get through my rough spots without you.”
“Which you don’t have any of now,” I pointed out, shifting the focus to him. “You’re about to be splashed across a Times Square billboard. You won’t be my secret any longer. Should we upgrade dinner from pizza to something more worthy of the occasion? How about we haul out that case of Cristal Stanton gave us?”
“Now you’re talking.”
“Movies? Anything in particular you want to watch?”
“Whatever you want. I wouldn’t want to screw with your big-dumb-blow-’em-up movie genius.”
I grinned, feeling better as I’d known I would after an hour with Cary. “You’ll let me know if I’m too dense to figure out when you and Trey want to be alone.”
“Ha! Don’t worry about that. Your tempestuous love life is making me feel dull and boring. I could use a hot, sweaty bang with my own stud.”
“You just had a maintenance closet romp a couple days ago!”
He sighed. “I’d nearly forgotten. How sad is that?”
“It isn’t when your eyes are laughing.”
I’d just gotten back to my desk when I checked my smartphone and found a text from Lauren letting me know she had fifteen minutes to spare at quarter to three. I nursed a secret rush of anticipation for the next hour and a half, having decided to take Cary’s advice and have a little fun. Lauren’s and I would have to wade through the ugliness of my past soon enough, but for now, I could give us both something to smile about.
I texted her just before I left, letting her know I was on my way. Considering the time constraints, we couldn’t waste a minute. Lauren must have felt the same way, because I found Scott waiting for me at reception when I reached the Cross Industries waiting area. He walked me back after the receptionist buzzed me in.
“How’s your day been?” I asked him.
He smiled. “Great so far. Yours?”
I smiled back. “I’ve had worse.”
Lauren was on the phone when I entered her office. Her tone was clipped and impatient as she told the person on the other end of the line that they should be able to manage the job without her having to oversee it personally.
she held up one finger to me to tell me she’d be another minute. I responded by blowing a big bubble with the gum I was chewing and popping it loudly.
Her brows shot up, and she hit the buttons to close the doors and frost the glass wall.
Grinning, I sauntered over to her desk and hopped onto it, curling my fingers around the lip and swinging my legs. she popped the next bubble I blew with a quick jab of her finger. I pouted prettily.
“Deal with it,” she said with quiet authority to whoever was on the phone. “It’ll be next week before I can get out there and waiting will set us back further. Stop talking. I have something time-sensitive on my desk and you’re keeping me away from it. I guarantee that’s not improving my disposition. Fix what needs fixing and report back to me tomorrow.”
she returned the phone to its cradle with suppressed violence. “Camila—”
I held up one hand to cut her off and wrapped my gum in a Post-it I took from a dispenser on her desk. “Before you reprimand me, Miss. Jauregui, I want to say that when we reached an impasse in our merger discussions at the hotel yesterday I shouldn’t have walked out. It didn’t help to resolve the situation. And I know I didn’t react very well to the PR issue with the photo. But still…Even though I’ve been a naughty secretary, I think I should be given another chance to excel.”
Her gaze narrowed as she studied me, assessing and reevaluating the situation on the fly. “Did I ask for your opinion on the appropriate action to take, Miss Cabello?”
I shook my head and looked up at her from beneath my lashes. I could see the lingering frustration from her phone call falling away from her, replaced by her growing interest and arousal.
Hopping down from the desk, I sidled closer and smoothed her immaculate tie with both hands. “Can’t we work something out? I do possess a wide variety of useful skills.”
she caught me by the hips. “Which is one of the many reasons you’re the only woman I’ve ever considered for the position.”
Warmth flowed through me at her words. Boldly cupping her cock in my hand, I fondled her through her slacks. “Maybe I should reapply myself to my duties? I could demonstrate some of the ways I’m uniquely qualified to assist you.”
Lauren hardened with delectable swiftness. “Such initiative, Miss Cabello. But my next meeting is less than ten minutes away. Also, I’m not accustomed to exploring job enrichment opportunities in my office.”
I freed the button of her fly and lowered her zipper. With my lips to her jaw, I whispered, “If you think there’s anywhere I won’t make you come, you’ll have to revisit and revise.”
“Camila,” she breathed, her eyes hot and tender. she cupped my throat, her thumbs brushing over my jaw. “You’re unraveling me. Do you know that? Are you doing it on purpose?”
I reached inside her boxer briefs and wrapped my hands around her, offering up my lips for a kiss. she obliged me, taking my mouth with a fierceness that left me breathless.
“I want you,” she growled.
I sank to my knees on the carpeted floor, pulling her pants down enough to give me the access I needed.
she exhaled harshly. “Camila, what are you—”
My lips flowed over the wide crown. she reached back for the edge of her desk, her hands curling around the lip with white-knuckled force. I held her with both hands and mouthed the plush head, sucking gently. The softness of her skin and her uniquely appealing scent made me moan. I felt the vibration ripple through her entire body and heard a rough sound rumble in her chest.
Lauren touched my cheek. “Lick it.”
Aroused by the command, I fluttered my tongue across the underside and shivered with delight when she rewarded me with a hot burst of pre-cum. Fisting the root of her with one hand, I hollowed my cheeks and drew rhythmically, hoping for more.
I wished I had the time to make it last. Drive her crazy…
she made a sound filled with the sweetest agony. “God, Camila…your mouth. Keep sucking. Like that…hard and deep.”
I was so turned on by her pleasure I squirmed. Her hands pushed into my bound hair, pulling and tugging at the roots. I loved how she started out with tenderness, then grew rougher as the lust she felt for me overwhelmed her control.
The soft bite of pain made me hungrier, greedier. My head bobbed as I pleasured her, jacking her with one hand while I sucked and stroked the crest with my mouth. Heavy veins coursed the length of her cock, and I slid the flat of my tongue along them, tilting my head to find and caress each one.
she swelled, growing thicker and longer. My knees were uncomfortable, but I didn’t care; my gaze was riveted to Lauren as her head fell back and she fought for breath.
“Camila, you suck me so good.” she held my head still and took over. Thrusting her hips. Fucking my mouth. Stripped to a level of base need where only the race to orgasm mattered.
The thought made me crazed, the image in my mind of how we must look: Lauren in all her urbane sophistication, standing at the desk where she ruled an empire, stroking her big cock in and out of my greedy mouth.
I gripped her straining thighs in both hands, frantically working my lips and tongue, desperate for her climax. Her balls were heavy and big, an audacious display of her powerful virility. I cupped them, rolling them gently, feeling them tighten and draw up.
“Ah, Camila.” Her voice was a guttural rasp. Her grip tightened in my hair. “You’re making me come.”
The first spurt of semen was so thick, I struggled to swallow. Mindless in her pleasure, Lauren was thrusting against the back of my throat, her cock throbbing with every wrenching pulse into my mouth. My eyes watered and my lungs burned, but still I pumped my fists, milking her. Her entire body shuddered as I took everything she had. The sounds she made and the muttered, breathless praise were the most gratifying I’d ever heard.
I licked her clean, marveling at how she didn’t fully soften even after an explosive orgasm. she was still capable of fucking me senseless and more than willing to, I knew. But there was no time and I was happy about that. I wanted to do this for her. For us. For me, really, because I needed to know I could indulge in a selfless sexual act without feeling taken advantage of.
“I have to go,” I murmured, standing and pressing my lips to her. “I hope the rest of your day is awesome, and your business dinner tonight, too.”
I started to move away, but she caught my wrist, her gaze on the clock readout on her desk phone. I noticed my picture then, sitting in a place of prominence where she’d see it all day.
“Camila…Damn it. Wait.”
I frowned at her tone, which sounded anxious. Frustrated.
she quickly restored her appearance, tucking herself back into her boxer briefs and straightening the tail of her shirt so she could fasten her pants. There was something sweet in watching her pull himself back together, restoring the façade she wore for the world while I knew at least a little of the man beneath it.
Tugging me close, Lauren pressed her lips to my brow. Her hands moved through my hair to unclip my tortoise barrette. “I didn’t get you off.”
“No need.” I loved the feel of her hands on my scalp. “That rocked just the way it was.”
she was overly focused on fixing my hair, her cheeks flushed from her orgasm. “I know you need an even exchange,” she argued gruffly. “I can’t let you leave feeling like I used you.”
A bittersweet tenderness pierced me. she’d listened. she cared.
I cupped her face in my hands. “You did use me, with my permission, and it was seriously hot. I wanted to give you this, Lauren. Remember? I warned you. I wanted you to have this memory of me.”
Her eyes widened with alarm. “Why the fuck do I need memories when I have you? Camila, if this is about the photo—”
“Shut up and enjoy the high.” We didn’t have the time to get into the photo issue now and I didn’t want to. It was going to ruin everything. “If we’d had an hour, I still wouldn’t let you get me off. I’m not keeping score with you, ace. And honestly, you’re the first person I can say that to. Now, I have to go. You have to go.”
I started away again, but she caught me back.
Scott’s voice came through the speaker. “Excuse me, Miss. Jauregui. But your three o’clock is here.”
“It’s okay, Lauren,” I assured her. “You’re coming over tonight, right?”
“Nothing could keep me away.”
I shoved up onto my tiptoes and kissed her cheek. “We’ll talk then.”
____
After work, I took the stairs down to the ground floor to feel less guilty about skipping the gym and seriously regretted it by the time I reached the lobby. Lack of sleep from the night before had left me wiped out. I was contemplating taking the subway rather than walking when I saw Lauren’s Bentley at the curb. When the driver got out and greeted me by name, I halted abruptly, surprised.
“Miss. Jauregui asked that I take you home,” he said, looking smart in his black suit and chauffeur hat. He was an older gentleman with graying red hair, pale blue eyes, and the softest of cultured accents.
As much as my legs ached, I was grateful for the offer. “Thank you…? I’m sorry—what was your name?”
“Angus, Miss Cabello.”
How had I not remembered that? The name was so cool, it made me smile. “Thank you, Angus.”
He tipped his hat. “My pleasure.”
I slid through the back door he opened for me and as I settled into the seat, I caught a glimpse of the handgun he wore in a shoulder holster beneath his jacket. It appeared that Angus, like Clancy, was both bodyguard and driver.
We pulled away from the curb and I asked, “How long have you been working for Miss Jauregui, Angus?”
“Eight years now.”
“Quite a while.”
“I’ve known her longer than that,” he volunteered, catching my gaze in the rearview mirror. “I drove her to school when she was a young girl. she hired me away from Mr. Vidal when the time came.”
Once again, I tried to picture Lauren as a child. No doubt she’d been beautiful and charismatic even then.
Had she enjoyed “normal” sexual relationships when she was a teenager? I couldn’t imagine that women weren’t throwing themselves at her even then. And as innately sexual as she was, I imagined she’d been a horny teen.
Digging in my purse, I pulled out my keys and leaned forward to set them on the front passenger seat. “Can you see that Lauren gets those? she’s supposed to come over after whatever it is she’s doing tonight and depending on how late that is, I might not hear her knock.”
“Of course.”
Paul opened the door for me when we arrived at my apartment and he greeted Angus by name, reminding me that Lauren owned the building. I waved to both men, told the front desk Lauren would be coming over later, and then took myself upstairs. Cary’s raised brows when he opened the door to me made me laugh.
“Lauren’s coming over later,” I explained, “but I’m feeling so hammered right now I may not stay up long. So I gave her my keys to let herself in. Did you order already?”
“I did. And I tossed a few bottles of Cristal in the wine fridge.”
“You’re the best.” I shoved my bag at him.
I showered and called my mom from the phone in my room, wincing at her strident, “I have been trying to reach you for days!”
“Mom, if it’s about Lauren Jauregui—”
“Well, of course, it’s partly about her! For goodness’ sake, Camila. You’re being called the significant woman in her life. How could I not want to talk about that?”
“Mom—”
“But there’s also the appointment you asked me to make with Dr. Petersen.” The note of smug amusement in her voice made me smile. “We’re scheduled to meet with him Thursday at six o’clock in the evening. I hope that works for you. He doesn’t do many evening appointments.”
I plopped backward onto my bed with a sigh. I’d been so distracted by work and Lauren that the appointment had slipped my mind. “Thursday at six will be fine. Thank you.”
“Now, then. Tell me about jauregui…”
When I emerged from my bedroom dressed in jersey pants and a San Diego State University sweatshirt, I found Trey seated with Cary in the living room. Both men stood when I came in and Trey gifted me with an open, friendly smile.
“I’m sorry I look so ragged,” I said sheepishly, running my fingers through my damp ponytail. “Taking the stairs at work almost killed me today.”
“Elevator take the day off?” he asked.
“Nope. My brain did. What the hell was I thinking?” Spending the night with Lauren was enough of a workout.
The doorbell rang and Cary went to get it while I headed into the kitchen for the Cristal. I joined him at the breakfast bar as he signed the credit card receipt and the look in his eyes when he glanced at Trey had me hiding a smile.
There were a lot of those looks going back and forth between the two men as the evening progressed. And I had to agree with Cary that Trey was a hottie. Dressed in distressed jeans, matching vest, and a long-sleeved shirt, the aspiring veterinarian looked casual but well put together. He was very different personality-wise from the type of guy Cary usually dated. Trey seemed more grounded; not quite somber, but definitely not flighty. I thought he’d be a good influence on Cary, if they stayed together long enough.
The three of us made it through two bottles of Cristal and two pizzas between us, plus all of Demolition Man before I called it a night. I urged Trey to stay for Drivento round out the Stallone mini-marathon; then I went to my room and changed into a sexy black baby doll I’d been given as part of a bridesmaid gift bag—sans the matching panties.
Leaving a candle burning for Lauren, I crashed.
____
I woke to darkness and the scent of Lauren’s skin, the lights and sounds of the city shut out by soundproofed windows and blackout drapes.
Lauren slid over me, a moving shadow, her bare skin cool to the touch. Her mouth slanted over mine, kissing me slow and deeply, tasting of mint and her own unique flavor. My hands slid down her sleekly muscular back, my legs parting so she could settle comfortably between them. The weight of her against me made my heart sigh and my blood warm with desire.
“Well, hello to you, too,” I said breathlessly when she let me up for air.
“You’ll come with me next time,” she murmured in that sexy and decadent voice, nibbling at my throat.
“Will I?” I teased.
she reached down and cupped my butt in her hand, squeezing and lifting me into a deft roll of her hips. “Yes. I missed you, Camila.”
I ran my fingers through her hair, wishing I could see her. “You haven’t known me long enough to miss me.”
“Shows how much you know,” Lauren scoffed, sliding downward and nuzzling between my breasts.
I gasped as her mouth covered my nipple and sucked through the satin, deep pulls that echoed in the clenching of my core. she moved to my other breast, her hand pushing up the hem of my baby doll. I arched into her, lost to the magic of her mouth as it moved over my body, her tongue dipping into my navel, then sliding lower.
“And you missed me, too,” she purred with masculine satisfaction, the tip of her middle finger rimming my cleft. “You’re swollen and wet for me.”
she pulled my legs over her shoulders and licked between my folds, soft and provocative laps of hot velvet against my sensitive flesh. My hands fisted in the sheet, my chest heaving as she circled my clit with the tip of her tongue, then nudged the hypersensitive knot of nerves. I keened, my hips moving restlessly into the devious torment, my muscles tightening with the clawing need to come.
The light, teasing flutters were driving me insane, giving me just enough to make me writhe but not enough to get me off. “Lauren, please.”
“Not yet.”
she tortured me, coaxing my body to the brink of orgasm, and then letting me slide back down. Over and over. Until sweat misted my skin and my heart felt like it would burst. Her tongue was tireless and diabolical, cleverly focusing on my clit until a single stroke would set me off, then moving lower to thrust into me. The soft, shallow plunges were maddening, the flickering against the nerve-laden tissues making me desperate enough to beg shamelessly.
“Please, Lauren…let me come…I need to come, please.”
“Shh, angel…I’ll take care of you.”
she finished me with a tenderness that made the orgasm roll through me like a crashing wave, building and swelling and spreading through me in a warm rush of pleasure.
she threaded her fingers with mine when she came over me again, restraining my arms. The head of her cock aligned with the slick entrance of my body and she pushed inexorably into me. I moaned, shifting to accommodate the heavy surge of her penis.
Lauren’s breath gusted hard and humid against my throat, her big frame trembling as she slid carefully inside me. “You’re so soft and warm. Mine, Camila. You’re mine.”
I wrapped my legs around her hips, welcoming her deeper, feeling her buttocks flex and release against my calves as she demonstrated to my body that it would indeed take her thick length all the way to the root.
With our hands linked, she took my mouth and began to move, gliding in and out with languid skill, the tempo precise and relentless yet smooth and easy. I felt every rock-hard inch of her, felt the unmistakable reiteration that every inch of me was her to possess. she drove the message home repeatedly until I was gasping against her mouth, thrashing restlessly beneath her, my hands bloodless from the strength of my grip on her.
she spoke heated praise and encouragement, telling me how beautiful I was…how perfect I felt to her…how she’d never stop…couldn’t stop. I came with a sharp cry of relief, vibrating with the ecstasy of it, and she was right there with me. Her pace quickened for several slamming thrusts; then she climaxed with a hiss of my name, spilling into me.
I sank lax into the mattress, sweaty and boneless and replete.
“I’m not done,” she whispered darkly, adjusting her knees to increase the force of her thrusts. The pace remained expertly measured, each plunge staking a claim—your body exists to serve me.
Biting my lip, I fought back the sounds of helpless pleasure that might’ve broken the tranquility of the night…and betrayed the frightening depths of emotion I was beginning to feel for Lauren Jauregui.
Reblog to tell your followers the entirety of Be More Chill (more musicals to come)
Jeremy Heere, a high school junior, is a social outcast. He lives with his recently divorced father, who works from home and makes Jeremy uncomfortable by refusing to wear pants in the house. At school, Jeremy is bullied by popular student Rich Goranski, who writes "boyf" on his backpack. His "best friend", Michael Mell (on whose backpack Rich has written "riends"), tries to comfort Jeremy by telling him that being a loser is okay. Jeremy's long-time crush Christine Canigula signs up for the school play, and he decides to as well. Jeremy wonders if someone can help him "more than survive" ("More Than Survive").
As they wait for the first play rehearsal to begin, Christine professes her love of theater to Jeremy, because she can play different people and always knows what to say and performs ("I Love Play Rehearsal"). The drama teacher, Mr. Reyes, reveals that the school play will be A Midsummer Night's Dream set in a post-apocalyptic future, re-titled A Midsummer Nightmare (About Zombies). During rehearsal, Jake Dillinger, one of the popular boys, flirts with Christine, making Jeremy jealous ("More Than Survive (Reprise)").
Jeremy is confronted in the bathroom by Rich, who tells Jeremy how he managed his rise to popularity: as an unpopular freshman, he took a pill called a "super quantum unit Intel processor"—a "SQUIP"—containing a computer that implants itself inside the user's brain and tells the user what to do and say. Rich suggests that Jeremy buy one in order to become cooler ("The Squip Song").
While playing video games with Michael, Jeremy tells him about Rich's offer. After an awkward conversation with his dad (still not wearing pants), Jeremy decides to check the SQUIP out. Jeremy assures Michael that, no matter what happens, they'll always be a team ("Two-Player Game").
The two visit the mall to buy the SQUIP from a dealer at Payless ShoeSource. Jeremy, as instructed, swallows it with green Mountain Dew. When the SQUIP activates, it causes Jeremy to have a seizure in front of Christine and Jake ("The Squip Enters"). The SQUIP (in the guise of Keanu Reeves), criticizes Jeremy's appearance, personality, and behavior, telling him that everything about him is terrible ("Be More Chill, Pt. 1"). The SQUIP orders him to go to a store to buy a new Eminem shirt. Jeremy encounters two popular girls from school, Brooke Lohst and Chloe Valentine, and the SQUIP helps Jeremy fabricate a story in order to create empathy with the two girls. They offer Jeremy a ride home ("Do You Wanna Ride?"), which the SQUIP demands he accept, but Jeremy declines because he does not wish to leave Michael in the mall. The girls leave, and the SQUIP lies to Jeremy and tells him that Michael has left the mall. It tells him that in order for its plan to improve his social standing to work, Jeremy needs to obey every order it gives him ("Be More Chill, Pt. 2").
The next day, Jeremy heads to school with renewed confidence, wondering if he might be less invisible than before. The SQUIP delves into the inner psyche of the student body around him, giving Jeremy insight on the fears and insecurities of his fellow peers. Jeremy's SQUIP syncs itself with Rich's, instantly making them friends. Jeremy heads confidently to the play rehearsal ("Sync Up"). Christine tells Jeremy about her feelings for a guy she knows, who Jeremy initially believes is himself, but who turns out to be Jake ("A Guy That I'd Kinda Be Into").
Afterward, the SQUIP informs Jeremy that Christine won't date him until his social standing drastically improves. Encouraging Jeremy to use an interested Brooke as a stepping stone to greater popularity, he hooks up with her, while Jake asks Christine to come to his house ("Upgrade"). Overwhelmed, Jeremy asks the SQUIP to shut itself off for a few minutes. Immediately, Jeremy sees Michael and is elated but Michael states that Jeremy has been ignoring him all day. The SQUIP explains that it was using "optic nerve blocking" to block Michael from Jeremy's vision and that in order to be more popular he has to "upgrade to Jeremy 2.0." Jeremy eventually decides he is tired of being a loser and turns on optic nerve blocking, leaving him alone with the SQUIP ("Loser Geek Whatever").
Act Two
On Halloween, Jake hosts a large party that features alcohol and other shenanigans ("Halloween"). Christine arrives in a revealing princess costume, hoping to please Jake, but he brushes her aside to party. Jeremy arrives to meet Brooke, but Chloe, who is jealous of Brooke, tries to seduce Jeremy. Jeremy is uncomfortable and tries to get away, but the SQUIP forces him to remain in the situation as it escalates to Chloe making out with Jeremy ("Do You Wanna Hang?"). Chloe also has Jeremy drink alcohol, causing the SQUIP to malfunction, and then feigns having sex with him, angering Jake and breaking Brooke's heart.
Fleeing from Jake and the girls, Jeremy runs into a bathroom, where he finds Michael, who has crashed the party. Michael tries to warn Jeremy of the dangers of the SQUIP, explaining that someone ended up in a mental hospital after they went crazy trying to get it out of their head. Jeremy accuses Michael of being jealous of his popularity and calls him a loser. Michael, devastated and angry, locks himself in the bathroom, where he has a panic attack and sensory overload as he mourns the loss of his best and only friend ("Michael in the Bathroom"). Jeremy talks to Christine without the SQUIP's help and he asks her out in a burst of confidence ("A Guy That I'd Kinda Be Into (Reprise)"). Christine, who has found herself in an existential crisis after breaking up with Jake, declines.
Meanwhile, Rich goes around the party frantically asking people for Mountain Dew Red. Jeremy's SQUIP finally reactivates and reviews the events of the night, prompting Jeremy to leave the party immediately. Rich, alone and desperate, talks to his SQUIP and then sets the house on fire. The next morning, Jenna Rolan, the school gossip, informs everyone that Rich had burned down Jake's house at the end of the party, sending Rich to the hospital and causing Jake to break both of his legs jumping out of a window while trying to escape. The news spreads throughout the school through text and tweeting ("The Smartphone Hour (Rich Set a Fire)").
At home, Jeremy is confronted by his father (still not wearing pants), who brings up Jeremy's new personality and change in attitude. Jeremy reprimands his father for his behavior since the divorce, calling him a loser as well. Shaken by Jeremy's words, Mr. Heere realizes that something is very wrong and that he must take charge. He tracks down Michael and asks him to not give up on his friend. Michael reluctantly agrees to help, on the condition that Mr. Heere puts on some pants and becomes a better father ("The Pants Song").
As the cast prepares for the play, Jeremy encounters Christine, who is shaken and upset about the fire. Jeremy is unhappy with the relationships he has damaged and angrily blames the SQUIP for his misfortunes. The SQUIP instead blames it on "human error" and tells Jeremy he can improve the lives of the rest of the students, and eventually the whole world, by providing them all with SQUIPs. In Rich's locker, Jeremy finds a box full of SQUIPs, which Jeremy then pours into a beaker of Mountain Dew ("The Pitiful Children").
Backstage during the play, Christine confronts Jeremy over his use of the SQUIP, causing him to doubt the plan. However, the SQUIP has already begun to take over others in the play. The SQUIP reveals its intention to sync the entire student body, and then the whole world. Jeremy comes to a realization: Mountain Dew activates the SQUIP, while Mountain Dew Red deactivates it. Michael reappears from the audience with a bottle of Mountain Dew Red, which he gives to Jeremy after making him apologize for his actions, but a SQUIPed Jake dumps most of it out. Jeremy and Michael fight off the controlled students until the SQUIP reveals that Christine has been SQUIPed, and under its influence, she professes her love for Jeremy. Jeremy, however, realizes this is not what he had wanted and makes Christine drink the last of the red Mountain Dew: this causes a chain reaction that destroys the rest of the SQUIPS ("The Play").
Jeremy wakes up in the hospital, sharing a room with Rich, who proudly comes out to Jeremy as bisexual and is ready to finally be who he really is. Michael visits Jeremy and the two reconcile, and Mr. Heere (finally wearing pants) visits Jeremy as well, informing him that he'll be a better dad. Surrounded by his friends and family, Jeremy realizes that there will always be outside influences, but he needs to learn to make up his own mind instead. He asks Christine out again (for bowling alley performance art), and this time she accepts and kisses him. The SQUIP reveals itself to still be alive, weakly taunting Jeremy from inside his head, but Jeremy ignores it, happily proclaiming that "of all the voices in my head, the loudest one is mine" ("Voices in My Head").
How to Become a Professional Travel Blogger – 2021
Improve Your Writing Skills
Let’s imagine that the subject of your blog post truly is interesting. For instance, you visited some rear place and you shared your adventure from there. However, you need to understand that you need to share the value in the right way. In this case, the content that you share needs to be engaging.
First of all, keep in mind that people do not like to read a lot. The structure of the article needs to be interesting to the reader. Try to use short sentences and paragraphs while writing the post. Despite that, avoid writing fluff content. It is something that is distracting people from reading.
Ensure Good Design of the Blog
Travel blog audience has some specific tastes and expectations. However, you must figure them out on your own. It is completely okay if you ask your audience if they like the design of your blog. Their feedback is everything you need to realize which moves you need to make next.
What is the first thing that a visitor sees? If the design seems monotonous, he won’t even start reading the content that you shared. This is a risky decision and we believe it would be better to hire someone to do it instead of you.
Prepare Equipment
There is one more way how you can make your content can be more interesting. First of all, you need to understand that you are not an academic writer. Being a travel blogger means that you using different ways to meet your audience with certain destinations. Because of that, having pictures and videos attached to your blogs is a “must-do” thing.
Still, if you want to be a true professional, then you have to purchase high-quality equipment. Imagine that all pictures and videos are recorded by a smartphone camera. Okay, if you have some advanced version of the iPhone, it might be good to start. Yet, you must get a professional camera. In this way, you will have the chance to record while traveling.
Many people are desperate to visit different places. However, the do not have the chance to do that. With high-quality videos, you can at least try to satisfy their needs in some way. This is exactly the value that your audience is looking for.
Find an Inspiration, but Don’t Copy
It is not a secret that there is a huge number of travel bloggers online. It doesn’t necessarily mean that these individuals are your competitors. Even if they are, that doesn’t mean you can’t learn something from them.
First of all, find someone who truly has experience in this field. For example, stefanocicchini.com is one of the travel blogs that you should check. After you see how other bloggers are doing it, try to upgrade their quality.
Still, do not try to copy everything they are doing. For instance, another blogger visited a certain place and he got a lot of followers. Yet, that doesn’t mean you will achieve the same. First of all, maybe your audience is not expecting to see the same. Also, the destination you visited won’t be unique in any way.
If people realize that you are copying others, you will lose credibility among the audience. Losing that means that you won’t have a chance to become successful once again.
Don’t Stop Investing
This is one of the things that are important for every business field. Becoming successful without investing is not possible at all. First of all, you constantly need to invest in the equipment that you using. Despite that, sooner or later you will have to re-design your website, logo, etc. Finally, investing in the advertisement is something that every travel blogger needs to do.
Fortunately, social media are a powerful tool for promotion. The good thing is that you won’t have to spend a fortune to advertise here. You just need to know exactly who your target audience is. After you meet all of their characteristics, you will know how to develop a successful marketing campaign.
P.S. If this seems complex to you, you can always hire a social media manager.
Listen to Your Audience Carefully
Your audience is everything to you. We already mentioned that it is okay if you directly ask your audience what they think about the design of your blog. However, you should not stop there. You constantly need to analyze their requirements and expectations.
For instance, before you travel somewhere, ask your followers what they think. Always ask them about the next destination before you go somewhere. Always check their comments after every post that you publish.
Their feedback will tell you exactly which decisions you should make in the future. Publishing posts that are not interesting to them won’t bring you the success that you expecting.
Gabriel and Beelzebub's Divintively Terrible Plan (a Good Omens fanfiction)
if you’d rather read it A03, click here
chapter one is here, two is here, four is here
WARNING: IF YOU ARE TRIGGERED BY ANXIETY/PANIC ATTACKS, READ WITH CAUTION
CHAPTER THREE
Aziraphale was a bit worried about his friend. Logically speaking, there wasn’t anything wrong with him- the apocalypse had been called off, Adam had put reality back on its feet, their respective head offices weren’t calling for their heads. And yet, the angel couldn’t help but feel the demon was acting strange. He had called on Aziraphale several times per week during the months that followed the Apocalypse-That-Wasn’t, and although Aziraphale found this to be a rather pleasant surprise (he initiated many of their days together now as well), he’d begun to notice a significant trend in Crowley’s increasingly regular visits. That being, he didn’t. Crowley seemed determined to avoid the bookshop at all costs.
If Aziraphale invited him over, he’d make a counter offer or abruptly cancel and reschedule at a different location. As a result Aziraphale was becoming better acquainted with his best friend’s flat, but he was beginning to worry if the demon simply did not like the bookshop anymore. But, he supposed, it was irrelevant. The time spent with Crowley is what mattered.
Sighing into the musty air, Aziraphale gently closed Agnes Nutter’s book of Nice and Accurate Prophecies (He’d had to beg Adam to let him keep a copy without stealing Anathema’s). He’d taken great delight in deciphering her already proven accurate predictions, it was like playing some grand game of connect the dots- he’d had a good laugh with Crowley over her instructions regarding Betamax.
But there was no point in worrying over something if you weren’t going to do anything about, he decided. Removing his gloves, he scootched the chair back and picked his way over several small stacks of books littering the floors (not that he particularly condoned a dishevelled shop, but it had served rather well as a customer deterrent in the past- twisted ankles were something no one enjoyed) to the telephone. Well, it was actually his new “flip phone” that Crowley had coaxed him into buying. Said owning a rotary phone was an affront to human innovation, and that the least he could do to keep up with the times would be getting an upgrade. His demonic friend had been pushing a smartphone, but Aziraphale met him halfway with a Nokia flip phone. He hadn’t been too fond of it originally- still didn’t like the idea that Crowley may have been right about the usefulness of modern technology, but the little contraption (“Little?! It’s a brick with a price tag!” Crowley had exclaimed at that remark. He’d been torn between hating the flip phone and grateful that Aziraphale finally had a mobile) had grown on him. It really was quite handy for taking calls, and although texting took him an inordinate amount of time, he did enjoy righteously snapping the lid shut when he wished to hang up on someone with flair.
Scrolling through his contacts to Crowley’s name, he paused. Maybe this wasn’t a good idea. If he pushed Crowley too far...no, Crowley is a demon and of strong character, this wouldn’t cause problems. It wouldn’t. As his phone dialed a loud and annoying tune, he noticed vaguely that in stories whenever a character has to reassure themselves that their course of action was right, it never was.
Unfortunately this thought had been drowned out by the first few seconds of a voicemail message, interrupted by the sleepy sounds of his friend waking himself up.
“Ngh...hey ‘ziraphale, what’ss up?” he mumbled, a drowsy hiss escaping his defences.
“Crowley! Ah, good morning dear boy, I hope I didn’t wake you?” He stuttered, mentally kicking himself for not thinking of something to say before calling.
“Nah, you’re fine. I mean, you did. But it’ss fine…” Crowley said, dangerously close to falling back asleep.
“Well, I was wondering if you would like to have a drink this evening?” He began, his mind desperately scrabbling for plausible reasoning for his next query almost audible.
Crowley seemed to perk up at that.
“Yeah, sure, sounds great. So- so, the Ritz? My place?”
Aziraphale rubbed a manicured nail anxiously.
“Ah, well, see, I was thinking. And I thought that since I...have something to show you here at the bookshop, why don’t you just meet me here, I can show you that, ah, thing , and then we can indulge ourselves afterwards?”
Silence from the other end of the line.
Aziraphale sucked in a breath. He had to convince Crowley that it was necessary he come or he might never find out why he was avoiding their old haunt.
“I, erm, well- I’ll be frank with you my dear, I received something recently that is unexpectedly demonic, it can’t be moved outside the shop, and I require your assistance in managing it.”
It is important to know at the point that Aziraphale hadn’t manipulated his best friend completely. He actually had received a mysterious package that radiated demonic energy. So he had no choice but to open it at some point, it’s not like he could give it to a human, it could be dangerous (besides, the box was rather large and was taking up far too much space in the shop to be ignored).
“-It’s just. Well. Crowley, I need your help with this, and I was really hoping you’d be willing.” he babbled. He hoped his friend would cooperate.
“...Yea, uh if you really need me at the shop, than I can..I can do that.”
The angel sighed in relief, a hand fluttering to his chest.
“Oh, oh thank you, dear boy, that’s really very--”
He would have kept talking if not for the telltale shrill from his phone that Crowley had hung up on him. A white eyebrow arched.
Strange behaviour indeed.
~~~
The sun was setting, evening had fallen. Washed out pink and gold streaks coloured the darkening sky, the few puffy clouds that were still dithering overhead hastened over the hills like obedient sheep called by their shepherd. London was calm, street lights becoming visible and casting a warm yellow glow over the roads. The atmosphere was serene, a perfect night to enjoy a glass (or several) of fine alcohol with a loved one. Yet the demon Crowley wasn’t picking up on this. He was sitting in his Bentley, white knuckling the wheel, staring doggedly at the dash as if it had compared his fashion sense to Aziraphale’s. The car was not moving. Crowley had slumped into the leather seat near ten minutes ago and hadn’t done anything since. He was waiting. Waiting, to not fear dread seeing the bookshop again. He wouldn’t admit it, but the demon hadn’t dealt with all the... feelings the fire gave him. It was almost like he was afraid to go back to the scene of the crime.
He’d considered dropping by the shop several times before, but had never gone through with it, always swerving into some back alley (or on one memorable occasion, a window- the Bentley’s to be precise) to avoid it. Het let out a growly sigh, removed his sunglasses, stared at the ceiling, reconsidered his last course of action and put the glasses on again, and finally willed the ever patient car into life.
Contrary to popular belief, the Bentley had been getting fed up with its driver’s antics and had been about thirty seconds away from kicking its engine into gear and driving him there itself.
Thankfully the stalling demon got his act together before that happened and remained blissfully unaware of his automobile’s opinions.
Crowley didn’t think about much while on the road. He simply focused on the fact that he would be helping Aziraphale and as a plus, consuming a concerning amount of alcohol. And that was enough for him. Except for the one occasion when it wasn’t and he regretted everything, letting loose a string of curse words screamed at the top of his lungs.
Soon enough he was pulling into the parking space on the corner of the shop, and the majority of his anxiety had been dealt with.
Spoiler alert, it hadn’t. Crowley just happens to be rather good at lying to himself. (Which is also a lie. Or is it?)
In the blink of a golden eye, Crowley was standing before the wooden door once again. But the major difference was that it was not burning to charcoal before him, and he did his best to remind himself of that fact. Rapping politely, his gaze drifted towards Aziraphale’s unnecessarily convoluted sign regarding his store’s hours, snorting under his breath at the ridiculous measures his angel took to keep out customers.
Wait.
Crowley was a demon . Demons did not “rapp politely.” Demons were rude and did what they wanted, and Crowley liked to consider himself somewhat of an unsavoury character- working for Hell or not, he had a reputation to uphold. So the obvious thing to do would be to barge in on whatever the angel was doing in a rather insensitive manner. But Crowley didn’t want to do that. He’d rather put off going into the shop for as long as possible, as he’d made quite clear over the past months. The serpentine demon decided a compromise would have to do, banging out a thundering rhythm on the poor abused tree the moment Aziraphale decided to open the door.
Crowley, nearly whacking the unsuspecting shopkeep soundly on the nose, retracted his fist quickly and arranged his face in an expression of vague distaste. Aziraphale blinked, a hand shooting up belatedly to protect his face. He chuckled lightly, chapped lips quirking upwards at the sight before him. Hands shoved into his pockets, eyes unreadable through dark shades, was his best friend Crowley. A mumbled sort of apology escaped his sharp tongue, seemingly without the consent of its master.
“Well do come in, dear boy, that box isn’t going to open itself.” Aziraphale said warmly, beckoning the demon inside.
His shoulders tensed as he strutted into the cluttered space. Everything seemed perfectly fine, he could even smell a whiff of cocoa in the air. He supposed the box was the thing that couldn’t leave the shop and required Crowley’s personal assistance-
Now that he thought about it, that sounded like-
“Angel, did you make up that whole box thing just to get me in the shop?” he questioned.
“Why would I need to, unless you’ve been avoiding it?” Aziraphale responded, an innocent look on his face.
Sneaky angel, Crowley thought. Kinda endearing.
...No, he amended.
The angel gave a little half-smile and clapped his hands. “So! Recently I was delivered an anonymous package, see that large crate over there-?” he pointed out the conspicuous looking wooden crate occupying a back corner of the book shop. It had an aura, almost like it was...wait. Crowley sniffed. He’d been shoving his more unappealing emotions into a hole for the past few minutes, but now there was something... in the air- acrid, smoky,
b u r n i n g
A flicker of red orange light appeared out of the corner of his eye. No, no no, this could not be happening again Aziraphale was too careful and oh god someone his angel was still here , he might not be so lucky again--
“...so you see the problem is the demonic aura this beastie is emanating, I really think that you would be more suited to…”
--his heart was beating wildly in his chest, it usually didn’t beat at all--
Crowley whirled around to beat out the flames -- he could feel the heat creeping up the back of his neck--
Only to find that there was nothing? Nothing, just nothing, that couldn’t be right -- short, erratic breaths pushed themselves out, desperate for air he didn’t need-- He frowned, somewhat aware of the plump man in his peripherals calling after him confusedly.
“Crowley?”
Crowley didn’t seem to hear him, fidgeting and glaring at a spot by his desk.
--he could smell smoke, it didn’t make sense it DIDN’T MAKE SENSE--
Aziraphale approached his friend. He’d never seen him like this, he didn’t seem quite well, chest almost heaving as he stood stock still.
“Crowley are you alright, you’re starting to worry me!” He exclaimed, and laid a gentle hand on the suited shoulder. Crowley started, blinking rapidly behind his glasses and jerkily maneuvering himself away from the angel’s touch. Now that was definitely odd, Crowley never had a problem with contact- several occasions where Crowley had draped himself over Aziraphale when he was hungover attest to that.
“Dear boy, do tell me what’s wrong.” He worried insistently.
Crowley smiled awkwardly and suggested they take the box outside in case whatever was inside damaged his precious books. Aziraphale considered this to actually be a sound idea, but one look at the wheezing demon practically wringing his hands beside him made his mind up for him.
“That sounds like a fantastic idea my dear, why don’t we go, ah, scope out a good place for it first hm?” He said soothingly, guiding his friend towards the back door.
Crowley felt the cool night air like a slap to the face. It was all hitting him now.
Tears streaming down his face, eyes burning-
aziraphale-
smoke pooling in his lungs, burning him from the inside, scorching heat charring everything he loved to cinders-
he’s gone, gone-
the roar of the flames hammered in his eardrums, the sickening sounds of home crumbling to ash behind him-
AZIRAPHALE HE’S DEAD-
he couldn’t see couldn’t breathe couldn’t   t h i n k

So I've been using a Blackberry phone for 3 years and never saw anything wrong with it, yeah there were problems but I didn't mind at all. Today my parents got me a new phone ("an upgrade you desperately need" according to them) and, holy crap, wow.
This thing runs so good I literally feel like a person from the 90s had just been handed a smartphone.
"how the hell did you survive with a Blackberry" you may ask. I don't know. Now that I have experienced what a real phone is like I don't know anymore. Life an hour ago was so laggy, so slow, how did I even live

Best Garage Door Openers In 2019
When you pull up out front, it’s really nice if you can roll right into the garage. If the sun’s beating down, you won’t want to leave the AC behind, and if the rain is pouring, you’ll want to stay dray. If only there were a way to make it happen right? Well, I had the same thought a few weeks ago, so I bought myself a garage door opener. I know what you’re thinking, it did take a little research to find the best one for me. But when I found it, the wait was worth it.
Tumblr media
To make things nice and simple for you, I’ve put together the notes I took when I was shopping around. That way you can read up on 15 of the best out there without lots of Googling. That’s Ideal if you want to make sure you get the perfect match first time out.
Best garage door opener.

1. NEXX Garage NXG-100 Nxg Remote Compatible Door Openers
The first entry on my list is something of an enigma. NEXX is the new kid on the block who’s mak-ing a lot of noise. Let’s see what I thought…
Stylish app control The app is nice and clean, plus it is super easy to install and setup. I like the white and green color scheme because it’s nice and positive. I’d also recommend that you make use of the multiple user login features (more on that a little later). All in all, from a software point of view I couldn’t fault it because it gave me everything I needed and nothing more. With no clutter or superfluous features, it was easy to get accustomed to.
Is voice control actually useful? This is something new for me if I’m honest, but I think it may just catch on in a big way. By having the capability to link up with control programs like Alexa or Siri, there’s a helpful degree of future proofing going on here. And that’s perfect if you love to link up your tech!
How about the encryption standards? When you can open your home remotely without a mechanical key, you need to be careful. I couldn’t find the specifics of the encryption standard, but from what I gather everything is in order. That said if you want to play it extra safe by all means contact the manufacturer. That way you’ll have the peace of mind that everything is taken care of.
Thinking about multiple users? Multiple users is a great feature, especially if you share your car. By having separate logins on each of your devices, you can even see who’s coming and going. That for me is a nice little-added security feature. It gives you the peace of mind that you know who is exiting and entering your home. Highly recommended for the tech lover looking to upgrade their home in the securest way possible.
Best Garage Door Openers Chain Drive
2. Chamberlain C410 Durable Chain Drive Garage Door Opener
These guys come with a big reputation for serious lifting power when it comes to garage doors. The chain drive mechanisms are known in the industry for reliability, but how does the user experience stack up?
Up to 1,500 ft of remote range is super long range! The first thing to say is that the range is insane. This makes it ideal for those with long drives or who live on surrounding land. You can click your remote, and then the door will do its thing. Perfect, if you want to avoid parking up and waiting for it to get out of the way. It should also mean that you don’t encounter any dead spots on your property where the reception dies.
Posi-lock security: what’s all the fuss about? This is an excellent feature because it gives you the peace of mind that your property is safe and secure. The unique mechanical locking mechanism is tamper-proof which means you can only open the door using your remote. Ideal for making sure that your new tech investment doesn’t compromise the security of your home.
How did I get on with the snaplock rail system The snaplock rail system is a smart way of ensuring you can easily install everything yourself. This keeps the costs down and means you can have everything working out of the box in an afternoon. With simple tension fits you’ll be able to fix everything in place in a matter of minutes. The instructions are simple and nicely worded which helps things too. If you do decide to install it yourself, you won’t need any specialist tools, but measure up beforehand. That way you’ll ensure you have the right opener for the task at hand.
Rugged chain drive design looks like it’s built to last The chain drive is what these guys are really known for. Similar to a bike chain but much more heavy duty, they have a hard life when you think about it. If you want to ensure you get the full use out of yours, then I suggest reading the maintenance section of the manual. With a few timely drops of oil every now and again you’ll extend the lifetime by years.
3. Chamberlain PD512 Garage Door Opener
The PD512 is perhaps one of the quietest running openers on my entire list. Here’s how they’ve mastered the art of getting the job done without all the whirring and grinding…
Chain drive that really is silent? How do they do it? The secret is the smooth running of the chain drive. When you install it, you’ll feel it flop around in your hand and you’ll wonder how it pulls so well. Well, it pulls so well precisely because of how free to move and flexible it is. By removing all those little bits of friction Chamberlain has taken efficiency and power transfer to the next level. I’m speechless!
Rolling code security is a clever solution I love the idea of a rolling security code. This means that every time you operate your door, a new access key is sent to your remote. To ensure intruders can’t clone your device and receive the new keys they’re also sent fully encrypted. This is the digital equivalent of having a front door whose lock and key change every time you use it!
Tri-band remotes offer unparalleled range and coverage This is very much the pinnacle of remote control technology. By extending the range and optimizing the coverage, it takes care of everything. The selection of frequencies it runs on ensures that outside interference from spurious signals is never an issue. For the real hardware nerds out there it would be nice to know which frequencies they use. I’m sure you could find out with a little digging deep in the manual if you’re desperate to know!
Built-in safety sensors for peace of mind The safety sensors that prevent the door lowering when something is in the way are essential. To protect pets and young children a beam of light is sent across the door. If it’s broken, then the door will open again. If you ever get to a situation where your door will suddenly not close and keeps opening then check the sensors. It’s not unknown for a little bit of debris to dirty one of them and confuse your new piece of safe-minded tech!
4. Chamberlain C450 Smartphone-Controlled Durable Chain Drive Garage Door Opener
I was curious to get my hands on the upgraded lifting system of the C450. Here are my thoughts folks….
The MED Lift power system has been making a real stir in the market The MED Lift power system has been marketed as a real breakthrough in terms of efficiency and power. What I really like is that it’s clearly been designed specifically for the task at hand. Too many companies take a standard motor, overwork it, and then wonder why they burn out too quickly. This gearing ratio and the HP are precisely what you need for the loads involved and the challenge of a rolling lift.
Steel chain drive is the pinnacle of efficient power transfer, but how hardwearing is it? The quality of their steel chain drives is what Chamberlain is known for more than anyone. They keep things simple with Teflon coated links that reduce friction, and the maintenance is easy to follow. With a couple of drops of oil every couple of months you’ll be able to add years to the lifetime of this thing!
Rolling encryption has billions of permutations and combinations The last few entries on my list have had this feature, and this one is no different. By offering literally billions of possible combinations, they are impossible to hack. This is perfect for adding something to your home that actually makes it even more secure. The fact that the access keys then change every time you use them only adds to the secure feeling. That is ideal for ensuring that an intruder can’t clone your remote and access your home whenever they want to.
Smartphone ready… There’s an element of future proofing here because all of the software and firmware is installed and waiting. There’s no obligation to use it if you prefer the old-fashioned approach. And I was glad to see that the manual didn’t try and force this new feature on you. A lot of people will want to get to grips with their new purchase before getting fancy and using apps. This back to basics approach that focused on the initial install was nice to see and put me at ease.
5. LiftMaster 1355 ( Replaced By 8065 ) Contractor Series 12 HP Chain Drive WO Rail Assembly
LiftMaster has a reputation for taking lower powered motors and getting a lot out of them. But how do they do it?
Only 0.5 HP so where does the pulling power come from? At only 0.5 HP you’ll be wondering how this thing even moves a door. Well, the secret is the efficiency and rigidity of the chain drive from what I can tell. It’s such an efficient way to transfer power from the motor to the door that you simply don’t need that much HP. Ideal if you want to install an inherently quiet motor that won’t be straining as much. It’ll also make it far less likely to fail on you.
Fast change encryption software is highly impressive This is a super cool feature. To prevent your encryption key being cloned it actually changes every time you open or close your door. A new access code is then sent in an encrypted form to your remote. Essentially what this means is that your lock and key change randomly every time you come or go. Now if that doesn’t scream ‘security’ at you, then I don’t what will folks!
4-year warranty is a nice way to kick things off, but why isn’t it lifetime? The 4-year warranty is a nice touch, but it’s only a year for parts. There a few entries on this list that give you a lifetime warranty on the motor in particular. I’d have liked to see a bit more coverage in this regard if I’m honest. That said if it doesn’t overly concern you then go ahead!
MyQ allows you to swap to app control at a later date App control is a nice idea because it means you can do away with carrying a standalone remote in your driver’s side door. If you want to future proof your setup then I’d suggest you convert over to it after you’ve had a couple of weeks to get used to your opener. That way you’ll have a feel for how it works, and you won’t be overwhelmed by the new tech.
Best Garage Door Openers Belt Drive
6. Chamberlain B503 Ultra-Quiet And Strong Belt Drive Garage Door Opener
The next entry on my list comes from the same guys, and it’s certainly worth paying attention to…
Can a garage door opener ever really be ‘ultra-quiet’? I think in this case…it can! With so much going on during operation, most garage door openers make a fair old noise. Because of the smoothness of the mechanism and how powerful the motor is that’s not the case here. You just hear a gentle whirring noise that pulls your door up in a couple of seconds. To be honest, you won’t be able to hear it above the sound of the engine running.
Tri-band technology: what’s the fuss about? Tri-band is awesome because it extends your range to over a thousand feet. That may sound like overkill, but it is ideal for large properties and for avoiding dead spots in reception. If you want a door that opens with a click, then I’d always look for this technology.
Protection against forced entry The posi-lock system that’s employed here is really secure. It protects against lock manipulation and lock forcing; two common ways burglars gain entry. This is ideal if you want to sleep with the peace of mind that your new piece of tech enhances your security. You’ll also see that the craftsmanship is right up there with the very best on the list. Brute force approaches just won’t cut it when intruders want to gain entry by force.
How useful are the online installation videos? Personally, I was a little dubious at first, but I have to say that I now rate them. The idea of installing it myself felt daunting, but it needn’t have. The tutorials are easy to digest and have natural pauses built in. That allows you to stop the video at a natural point, carry out the step, and then hit ‘play’ again. All in all, I have to say that this is a simple approach to DIY that other brands should take a look at. You’ll save time and money on hiring a contractor!
7. Genie SilentMax 1200 Garage Door Opener
What’s in a name? Well, with one like this I’d be a fool not to sit up and take notice, wouldn’t I? Here’s how I got on when I took a look at the fourth entry on my list…
What’s so good about a dual frequency remote? Now, this is something amazingly cool. The remotes work on 315 MHz, and 390 MHz at the same time. This is super important because occasionally one of these frequencies will be blocked. This then makes the remote control redundant, and your door stays firmly shut! The elegant dual frequency band remotes remove this issue forever. Perfect for ensuring you never fall victim to those annoying quirks that can take the shine off of any new purchase.
Pulls your garage door up to 7 feet high 7 feet is more than enough for most cars. If you need an extra foot of clearance for that shiny new SUV, then there’s an optional extension kit available too. The installation of said kit is just as easy as the main module and motor. That means, should you decide that you want more clearance in the future you’ll only have to do a couple of minutes of fiddling to get it.
The steel reinforced drive belt is something to seriously consider Rather than a chain, these guys have opted for a belt. The pro here is that the operation can be even quieter because you don’t have the same number of moving parts. The upkeep and maintenance of a belt is also less because you won’t need to run oil over every link. If you want a fit and forget option, then this could be it, my friend!
Smart Set Programming makes your life a lot easier I really like the Smart Set Programming that these guys have devised. Rather than having open and close buttons, they give you complete control. That means that you can also set the total height you want to raise your door. Not only does this speed things up, but it also reduces the strain on the motor. Run it for years, and you’ll notice the difference when you come to follow the servicing instructions.
8. Liftmaster Garage Door Openers
I hadn’t heard of this one if I’m honest, but I was intrigued nonetheless. Now that I’ve told you its name I bet you can’t wait to read about it!
Lightweight for ease of installation The entire package only weighs 6 lb which is excellent. That means that you don’t need to have any specialist mountings or fixtures to get it up on the ceiling. Your standard cordless drill driver will be more than enough to make the holes and secure it in place.
Simple to add to your existing setup which is nice! The versatility of the EverCharge is something I absolutely must comment on. None of the fixtures and fittings are hard to use or install. This means with some simple off the shelf additions you’ll be able to make it a universal fit. And that’s ideal if you want to be able to buy something and not overthink too much about how you’re going to integrate it. It also means you’ll be able to keep it should you upgrade the door itself in the coming years.
12 V battery is used during operation, a spare would be handy One thing to note is that while it is mains powered, there is a 12 V battery on board. With features like this, I often advise people that it’s worth keeping a spare. If they’re unused for a period of time batteries, do have a habit of failing to hold a charge. With a spare that you can pick up from any hardware store, you should be able to benefit from years of seamless operation.
Powerful enough to lift any type and style of door The power of the motor is unspecified from what I can see, but there are no restrictions on types of entry it can lift. This means that it really is the universal solution that it is touted as. I liked this approach because it means you can upgrade your door and your motor separately. Highly recommended if you want to maintain freedom and flexibility over the coming years.
9. 8500 Liftmaster Elite Series MyQ Enabled Garage Door Opener
LiftMaster really knows its stuff, so the 8500 was a no-brainer from my perspective. Like the catchy name? Then why not see how it got on when I put it through its paces?
200 W light is already built-in The 200 W light is really handy, and it’s something not a lot of people have thought about. When you run the motor, the light automatically comes on and illuminates your garage. This is ideal because it means you won’t have to stumble around trying to find the light switch when the door closes behind you. A nice little user-friendly touch that will make things that little bit easier!
6 ft power line for easy connection to mains The power line could always be longer, but that’s not something worthy of holding against it! At 6 ft long it’s more than long enough to reach any outlet nearby. Perfect for ensuring that you can get it up and running the same day it arrives without loads of trips to HomeDepot.
Signature Protector System is an impressive new piece of tech This is perhaps my favorite feature of any door on this list. The Protector System is ideal for those of you with pets and young kids. It shines a beam of light across the entrance of the door. If that light beam is broken at any point, then the door opens up again. This ensures you prevent serious crushing injuries that can be hard to foresee when you click ‘close’ on your remote. Highly recommended for peace of mind.
Lifetime motor warranty caught my eye! Finally, we come to a little mention of the motor. Well, what can I say; it’s certainly up to the task because it’s guaranteed for a lifetime. The gearing ratios and torque allow it to make short work of any lifting. This is perfect for ensuring that you can keep it running nicely as you upgrade your door over the years. It also means that it isn’t straining and struggling to get the job done.
10. Chamberlain B970 Smartphone-Controlled Ultra-Quiet And Strong Belt Drive Garage Door Opener
Another entry from these folks is next on the agenda. The B970 promised big things when it arrived on the market. But a few months on from that debut has it really shown us what it is capable of? Time to take a look, guys!
Onboard battery could be a real lifesaver I really like the idea of the onboard 12 V battery. While it derives the bulk of its power from the mains this creates an issue during power outs. If your home is knocked off the grid for a few hours, then you may not be able to park your car. That could be a particularly severe problem if you don’t have a drive or on-street parking. With reserve power always on standby, you’ll be able to get your car inside safe and sound. A totally great feature that I wish more openers had.
Smartphone operation could be the way of the future The operation via smartphone is something that has divided a lot of people. On the one hand, you have those who don’t care about doing everything from their phones. On the other, you have people who are glad they no longer have to keep a standalone remote safe. I’d say I fall into the latter category because it can be all too easy to lose those little things. You’re never going to lose your phone, so this is a big step forward in my opinion. A highly recommended feature, one that will do more than appeal to the hardcore gadget or tech lovers out there.
1.25 HP is some serious pulling power if you ask me! When you can quote the power of your motor in Horse Power then you know you’re looking at a real beast! Because of the torque exerted by the drive, you’ll be able to open any door with minimal effort. This is great because it means Chamberlain haven’t had to resort to overworking an underpowered motor. Ideal if you want the reliable and quiet operation that will last for years and years. Highly recommended for those looking for an install and forget solution.
11. Chamberlain B730WD962 Garage Door Opener
The WD962 is marketed to single garage doors which means it is a little less high powered than some of the others on this list. Let’s see how this restriction played out when it was put through a close examination.
0.75 HP: could you be left wanting more? There is a little less power when compared to the previous entry on this list; there’s no getting away from that. However, to criticise it for that kind of misses the point. The issue is not how hard it can pull, but how well it pulls what it is designed to pull. The operation is quiet and efficient, and if you want to lift a double door, then you are better off with something else. Simple!
MyQ enabled so what is all the fuss about? This is a very neat piece of integrated tech that is ready and waiting. By future proofing with embedded voice control capability, Chamberlain is keeping your options open for years to come. This is a great way to approach it because it doesn’t force the issue when you don’t feel ready to adopt voice control.
Two remotes included makes it ideal for multiple users It’s nice to have two remotes rather than the solitary little one that so many openers come with. This means you can have one each, or keep a spare should yours fail. It would be nice if you could assign the remotes to a specific user to see who is coming and going. That said they are ergonomic and hard to lose which is all you really need at the end of the day isn’t it!
Automatic timed closing I like this feature because it makes things that little bit easier. When you drive in you sometimes don’t want to have to wait for your door, you just want to walk straight into your home. By setting it to auto close after 1, 5, or even 10 minutes, you should be able to wander in without waiting around. You may want to stand and check it comes down the first couple of times for peace of mind. I have no reason to think it won’t; it’s just playing it, safe my friend!
12. Genie PowerLift Garage Door Opener
With a name like the PowerLift, how could I not sit up and take notice! Let’s delve right in, and you can see for yourself whether it’s a winner!
The Safe-T beam system is the smart approach to garage door safety The Safe-T beam system gets around the potential issue of crushing injuries. This is especially important for those households with pets and young children. There’s a beam of collimated light shone between two sensors at the base of the door. If for any reason this light is blocked by something in the way while the door is moving it will halt and fully open. Ideal for the peace of mind that you have everything taken care of.
The wall console is easy to use and nicely laid out I like the wall console because it lights up during operation. This is especially handy if you’re leaving early in the morning before the sun is up or returning late at night. You can wall mount it away from the power outlet which is also a nice touch. That gives you the freedom to pick a safe and convenient spot.
Up to 500 lb of lifting power While it only has 0.5 HP, it uses it very efficiently. This means it can lift 500 pounds with no issues and minimal noise. More than enough to get the vast majority of garage doors up and out of the way. Be sure to check your intended or existing model of door with the manufacturer. That way you won’t be disappointed in case your opener struggles a little bit.
C-channel rail is easy to install Installing it yourself is what Genie are all about because they want to make things simple enough that you can do it yourself. This saves you time and money on a contractor, and its kind of fun if you’re that way inclined like me! Their C-rail system is really easy and is nicely documented in the manual. I’m yet to find any videos though which would have been nice.
13. Chamberlain WD1000WF Garage Door Opener
The name may be a bit of a mouthful, but this is an opener with a big reputation. It has a lot to live up to given the success of its predecessors, but that didn’t dampen my expectations. Take a look for yourself and see what you think…
MyQ comes as standard which is a nice touch MyQ is, in my opinion, the way of the future if you ask me. The idea of being able to open your door as you pull up with just your voice is elegant and neat. However, I would suggest waiting a couple of weeks before you install it if you’re new to voice control. You want to ensure that you trust the operation of the door before you get fancy with it. It’ll also ensure you can still open it in case it has an issue hearing your voice above your car’s engine noise.
LCD panel on the wall is the way of the future The LCD panel is a definite upgrade on the old style keypads that you’ll have seen earlier on this list. With a screen that shows you the status and options in the blink of an eye, you’ll have everything you need. I also like how it’s backlit. It just makes it that little bit more user-friendly, especially in the darker months.
Up to 1.25 of HP, but does it create too much noise? There’s a lot of horsepower on show here, but it is actually surprisingly quiet to be fair. It will always have a little more inherent noise than some of the smaller motors, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. By being more than strong enough to lift any door on the market with ease it should have a longer lifetime than most. If you want something that will keep on lifting with minimal maintenance, then I’d suggest a closer look. Even if the noise bothers you a little, it’s not like the motor will be running for more than a few seconds a day!
14. Craftsman 12 Hp Garage Door Opener
This is a new name in the industry to me at least, so I was intrigued to see how it stacked up. See what you think folks because I may have left one of the best ones in the place fourthteen!
A new name on the block; can you rely on them? I think you certainly can! Name recognition is one thing, but build quality, and the thinking that goes into a design is another. They have clearly put a lot of thought into how they’re going to put their products together. This is refreshingly nice to see, and from the build quality of the fixtures, I can tell you it will be simple to install.
Infrared reversing sensors are a clever addition I love that the sensors are placed at multiple heights. The ones near the bottom help protect your kids and pets from running in and out of the garage. While the ones nearer the top protect your car. If you mistakenly start to reverse and forget that it is lowering, then it’ll automatically stop. Ideal for those little user-friendly touches that make all the difference.
75 W may be left in the shade by others, but is it enough? 75 W is almost a third lower than some of the 200 W options on my list, but it should do the job. It won’t illuminate your entire garage like daytime sunlight, but you’ll still be able to see clearly. By being able to make it safely from your car to the exit door into your home, it gives you a safe user experience. This is just another reason why I said that they’ve clearly invested a lot of thought into getting the little things right.
Security+ coding is very well thought out The final thing I want to tell you about is the Security+ coding these guys have developed. I like that it auto updates every time you use the door. That will prevent cloned remotes from being able to open your home when you’re out. The encryption standard isn’t detailed, which is probably for security reasons, but I’d like to know more about it. I’m sure the manufacturer would outline the principle of how it works if you need further details for insurance purposes.
15. Genie Excelerator II 1500 1 HP Direct Screw Drive DC Garage Door Opener
And so we make it to the final entry on my list. You never know, I may have left the best till last! Just remember folks there are no rankings here, just 15 of the best for your consideration…
Direct drive motor saves a lot of wasted effort If you listen to the sound of this motor, you’ll be pleasantly surprised because it gives out a gentle, quiet hum. That doesn’t mean that it lacks power, but that it uses what it has with little wastage. The direct drive motor eliminates a lot of unnecessary couplers and moving parts where energy is lost. This then results in a quiet and efficient lift. Nicely executed!
I like the installation poster because it’s so easy to read The idea of an installation poster is a new one for me, but it totally made all the difference. The installation is simple enough that you can do it yourself and save time and money on contractors. With large diagrams and plenty of descriptions, the poster talks you through everything step by step. Plus because you can wall mount it if you’re not bending over trying to see what the next step is. Ideal if you want to get your new gadget up and running straight out of the box with no fuss!
Want to know more about Homelink? Some cars now come with remotes built in which is an interesting development. The upside of this approach is that it means you can never lose your remote. The Excelerator II fully supports Home-link which means you should be able to deploy it without issues. Be prepared to fiddle with it a little bit because each model of car will be a little different. To be fair, there’s not a whole lot the guys at Genie can do about that, but they do provide a dedicated manual.
Is it really maintenance free?Maintenance is something you expect at every moment, so this is a bold claim. The idea they have is that it is self-lubricating and enclosed which should keep the dirt and grime out. If you’re ever in any doubt, then I suggest contacting the manufacturer direct. They seem very helpful and more than willing to point customers in the right direction. Get in touch and show them what you’re hearing with a quick sound recording.
