Super quick doodle for D&D because I've been feeling artistically a bit dead lately and thought "Hey ill just scribble something that's happening in game right now and who cares if it looks even faintly polished."
Not sure why, but I've always loved playing a paladin. I like the idea that he's basically a predator to evil creatures, that the undead and unholy tremble to his presence, and that he can be quite a complex class to play (He can be a tank, a damage dealer, a healer, and usually is the party leader and diplomat)
I've finally got to lvl 10 with my Paladin in D&D (not the game on the pictures, the actual tabletop) Never had I gotten so far with one, and Aasimar Paladins are my favorite, there's just something about and angelic warrior that does it for me. Also I've found out that the Hermit background fits pretty well when you're autistic lol!!
I kind of want to just restart emrys so I can play her again more perfectly this time... kill even MORE fiends and such. but also I speedran grymforge a bit & the thing is that. emrys rolls up to moonrise towers already have a deep-seated and intense paladin-specific beef with ketheric. babygirl heard that he was 1. an evil paladin 2. broke his paladin vow to TWO gods prior 3. was like That and decided Actually, I'm going to project All of my own personal issues and insecurities onto you. And then I'm going to kill you. and then she still offered to spare him. so I need the buildup to that from grymforge. you see.
i was reading up on ars goetia for solomon reasons, and i noticed something that piqued my interest. most if not all his pact demons are said to command legions of demons themselves (notably eligos with 60 legions, belial with 80 legions, and paimon with 200 legions). a lot of them even have a whole host of abilities comparable to barbatos’ time-related powers (in fact many are listed to be able to speak past and future, or to manipulate it, much like barbatos).
all this to say i think it would be neat if in canon part of the reason solomon is considered so powerful is not only because he has powerful magic in his own right, but also because he commands an army of 72 demons, most of which have entire armies of their own and special abilities to boot.
I GOT WIPS OUT THE WAZOOOO OF SPECIFICALLY FISH N CHIPS BUT THE FISH IS SCARING THE CHIPS. CANT WORK ON ALL O THEM BC MY TABLET IS BRRROOOOKE AND I CANT GET THAT SAME VIBE WITHA MOUSE.... HERE U CAN EAT SOME OF THEM HERE CATCH CATCH!!
i appreciate that there is.... no 'good' or 'bad' ending per say for minth beyond the character choices - either she gets what she wants and controls the absolute with tav/durge, or she.... immediately hatches a (rather foolish) plan to go conquer the underdark and turn it into an empire with herself at the head.
thinking about how atrocious it is that so many people are taught to dwell on how god loves them Despite Their Sins. you must see love through the lens of self hatred, you have to believe you are evil before you are loved. the foundation of your perception of god and yourself is that you are inherently bad and deserve nothing good. figuring out how to deinternalize this is probably the hardest thing ever
When the enemy is a bunch of horrible undead aberrations, but your party has a Slayer specialized in them, a Cleric, a Druid (sunburst available) and a Bard.
battle damaged coincidence a'la that one time our paladin went evil & stabbed them in the chest, smiting their vulnerable-to-radiant-damage ass so hard they nearly straight up died on the spot
