Since Tumblr has an affinity for weird American cryptids, I wanna present to you all the strangest (and funniest) of them all:
The Appalachian Cougar
There is no joke, no tricks, nothing else to explain. That’s it. Residents of Appalachia apparently SWEAR that there are Mountain Lions/Cougars/Panthers/Pumas in the smoky mountains. But there aren't. They’ve been extinct since the early 1900s. No forestry service or wildlife organization has ever recorded any substantial population of Pumas in Appalachia. But residents of the mountains will swear up and down that they have them and have seen them, despite the science and records saying otherwise. So basically, up in the Smoky Mountains, the #1 crytid is literally just an animal that definitely already exists, but just doesn’t live around there anymore.

Appalachian Mountain Bears...
You can't see me.
"The humans need to clean this pool "
Is he giggling?
"Where you watching me that entire time?"
" When are the humans gonna light that bonfire ? "
"Look who was ringing the buzzer"
"Why would you guys just run away like that and leave all this awesome food?"
