It continues to shock me how much the Snaters really don't know the canon.
First, Lily never rejected Severus the two of them have been best friends for years. The one pestering Lily to go out with him was James.
Second, the scene where Snape goes to Godric's Hollow doesn't exist in the book, it's just an addition in the movie to make everything more dramatic. (If we want to consider movie scenes canon then most of the accusations made don't exist since they don't happen. These people are really too confused) And then what? Or if we take the scene from the film at face value, Snape hugs the woman he loves instead of helping Harry, so what? This poor man was destroyed, can we leave him alone for two seconds to cry?

Barty Crouch Jr. and Regulus Black becoming death eaters because they both are some of the biggest Voldemort Fanboys. With no canon proof of them ever not being things like blood supremacists.
Marauders Stans: Uwwwww cute boys.
Snape following Voldemort because he thought he had no other place to belong but seeing his mistake and therfor doing everything to undo his wrongs. With canon proof that he changed his belifes about blood status and other things.
Marauders Stans: He is the only irredeemable character and all his fans are racists and god knows what.
They are such hypocryts.

Alone, in the dark, and surrounded by the howling blizzard, Severus felt more at peace than he had in weeks. The more he let himself be buffeted by the snow, the more the crease between his brows seemed to melt away. He walked for some time, enjoying the crunch of the snow beneath his feet and the twinkle of the stars above. After a while, when it began to grow too dark to see, Severus raised his wand to cast Lumos… but halted himself in the act, hesitating. Steadily, he lowered his arm again and changed his mind — preferring, as wanderers often do, not to know where he was going in the dead of night.
I drew this for @snapecelebration’s Snolidays, Day 1. Prompt: Blizzard.
ID: image of Severus Snape, holding his wand high above his head. His expression is calm. His cloak, black like his clothes, is billowing in the wind. There is snow all around him. /End ID.

Can you IMAGINE the outrage antis would have if Snape was the one who:
Attacked his crush’s childhood friend unprovoked
Gagged said friend with soap
Hung said friend upside down and exposed their undergarments
Tried to coerce crush into a date with the promise to stop tormenting their friend
Threatened to pull down said friend’s underwear in front of already riled up crowd
They would be frothing at the mouth.
But because it was Mr. James “Blank Slate” Potter, he gets a pass because antis can fill their uwu headcannons into him like how he would have been a feminist HAH.
“BuT jAmEs gReW uP aNd mAtURed bY hIS 7th yEaR”
Umm…no hun, he didn’t. The evidence comes straight from the mouths of Sirius and Remus. You know…his BEST FRIENDS.
He was still hexing Snape behind Lily’s back in 7th year. Whether or not Snape started it first is irrelevant. A mature person would have talked to Lily about what was happening instead of hiding it. Why hide it if you’re not in the wrong?
On another note, NO ONE is really “grown up” at age 17. I’m a 23 year old woman (not that older than James when he died) and I can tell you that there was still ALOT of growing up I had to do when I was 17-21 years old and STILL need to do to this day.
Moral of this rant is that antis are hypocrites and need to stfu.

Severus survived, moved abroad in a muggle neighborhood and wrote 7 "Potions for Dunderheads" books, one for each year he taught at Hogwarts, using his own recipes.
He put wayyyyyy too much indications on every steps : color, potential dangers (risk of irritation, toxicity, etc), developed a mortality /100 scale for each step, indicate the margin of safety (3 more or less drops and you're 3rd degree burned dunderhead) .
By the seventh book, he learned biochemistry and organic chemistry, and added the pH, reaction equations, active ingredient, what protections to use (gloves, glasses) and progress tables.
Then he wrote "Muggle Techniques Applied to Magical Potions", in which he explains how to take off your gloves in safety, how to sterilize the supplies (including dragon leather gloves), when and how to use an autoclave, a centrifuge, and everything you can find in a muggle lab.
Through the years, he wrote many books :
Fresh, Dried, Fermented or Chopped : a proper use of plants in magical potions ;
Raw, Rare, Blue, Well done or Burnt: a proper use of animal parts in magical potions ;
Healing Spells and Potions for Daily Life ;
Why Using Your Wand While Brewing is the WORST IDEA EVER ;
You Blow Your Cauldron : Healing Spells for Dunderheads
Ancient Runes and Alchemy: How to Make the Lab Dunderhead-Proof
Starry Sky and Unicorn Poop : Potions for Toddlers and Children (under a pen name)
Easy Peasy, Potions Easy (under a pen name)
Those Legal Potions That Should Be Worst a Dementor Kiss (very controversial, includes Amortentia)
He also published many papers in potions magazines, all controversial, and that's how the word "Snience" started to spread.
He has been offered many jobs in potion labs, but never accepted it. However, he agreed to teach some summer camps when he's short of money, where he met very skilled wizards in herbology, magical creatures, spells and alchemy, whom he befriended.
They called themselves The Mad Snientists Team, since they all started to use muggle knowledge to improve their research.
And then, from above, he watches the first prom of students of the Severus Snape Magical Institute for Very Skilled Witches and Wizards attend their first class.

i’ve seen relationship therapists and psychologists analyse hermione and ron’s relationship and conclude that they wouldn’t work out in the long run. they’ve argued for hermione to be with harry, krum, even DRACO (don’t understand how a counsellor can vow for canon dramione but alright) as an alternative partner for hermione since ron is “too insecure” to be with her and match her intelligent prowess or what have you.
i seriously don’t understand this sentiment. ron and hermione genuinely seem (almost) perfect to me, maybe not in the movies (a common denominator of people who don’t like romione is that they always cite evidence from the movies, since the films took a lot away from ron’s character and his growth), but definitely in the books.
looking at ron’s insecurities, a lot of people dredge his inferiority complex up to toxic masculinity primarily, when it was more explored how it was an effect of his home life (not gonna argue toxic masculinity wasn’t a factor, they’re teenagers in the 90s written by a pretty misogynistic woman so…). he was the youngest son out of how many children? all of his older brothers were brilliant in some way. bill was an extremely gifted spellcaster, charlie was gifted with magical beasts, percy’s academic score was unmatched, and fred and george (despite their trouble) were entrepreneurial inventor-geniuses. ron, on the other hand, was quite literally born a disappointment to his mother, who conceived him specifically because she wanted a daughter, whilst ginny was born her favourite (though, even then, ginny was gifted at quidditch). ron was mediocre in every sense of the word, and his two best friends were harry (one of the most famous wizards) and hermione (the smartest witch of her age yada yada). and i’ve seen people argue that harry was more welcomed by molly into the weasley household than ron ever was. this isn’t even mentioning the amount of bullshit he copped for being poor (people always downplay the blow to confidence being in poverty can have on a person who is constantly surrounded by people who not only have more, but look down on him for simply being unlucky as to not have what they do).
so yeah, ron was an envious kid, but he was that way not because he was an evil patriarchal conception but because he was lowkey neglected. and even then he was overall an extremely devoted and loyal friend to both harry and hermione, because he did genuinely love them.
there were many moments of ron standing up for hermione that was cut from the films, not as a guy who was romantically interested in her, but as a friend. ron arguing with snape for making hermione cry is one of my fav scenes in the books ru kidding me, and in the movies he AGREED with snape RU KIDDING ME. not to mention how ron was a sobbing violent mess when hermione was getting tortured in the last book, whereas he wasn’t nearly as bothered in the films. and the films cut out harry being a dick to ron about his familial concerns (in dh), so when ron left it seemed like a random dickish move over his jealousy towards harry and hermione’s relationship.
there’s also a million moments where they minimised ron’s usefulness in the books for comedic purposes (forbidden forest with aragog, troll scene, devils snare scene) so ron seems dumber than he is. like, he’s actually smart and a really good spellcaster…. in the books.
so simply by stating this most of the arguments against romione become void. “he’s too stupid/weak for her” simply not true. “he’s a terrible friend who doesn’t stand up for her” also not true. “he’s too insecure to have made a move on her,” yes, but given the context i don’t think people would freak on about ron’s upbringing, i think many would be more understanding, especially considering his growth. even if he wasn’t insecure, hermione is beyond incredible and is bound to make anyone nervous when pursuing her (not an excuse for ron to act like a dick, but it does explain a lot where the movies don’t). “they argue too much” they bump heads, none of the arguments they have are actually super damning, with the exception of ron leaving in deathly hallows.
maybe i’ve covered everything (excluding the abhorrent amount of classism that clouds people’s judgments around how they view ron when harping about how hermione deserves better? hopefully).
now, i know people won’t like me mentioning the cursed child, but i’m going to considering we actually get an insight of their life as a longterm married couple there. a lot of ron stans hated how ron was the only character that wasn’t doing something incredible. harry was head of the aurors, ginny was a famous quidditch player retired to a famous journalist, neville was a hogwarts professor, hermione was quite literally minister on magic. and ron…. ran the joke shop with george.
and i think this was almost the perfect route to go down for ron. because he was average, and was perfectly fine with just being average. hello?? that speaks leagues of growth for his character. he’s supportive of hermione’s work, he grounds her when she gets too caught up in being the literal president of wizarding society, and he still viciously defends her, minister or not. in fact, he’s proud to simply be known as hermione’s husband because he doesn’t feel the need to prove to anyone else his worth. the people he loves most know his worth, hermione never downplays or underestimates him, they are complete equals in the relationship in every single way that matters. they kept ron’s best qualities whilst making him seem more of a healed person. they work so well as a married couple without it seeming like mischaracterisation (not to mention the cursed child literally shows how those two are in love in every reality, so there quite literally can’t be a better partner for hermione or ron according to canon).
so i really don’t understand how professional relationship counsellors can go online and denounce it. probs because they only watched the movies, but it’s 2023 and ron stans should not STILL be fighting for their lives trying to defend him from people who simply don’t consume media with as much depth (which is fine, but one should clarify if they’re talking about the movies because i’ve seen people state they’re talking about the hp BOOKS when it’s simply just…. the films). anyways. romione on top, thanks to coming to my ted talk.

“Harry was also abused but he didn't turn into Snape”
This argument is likely, once again, to blame Snape. With a speech that sounds a lot like: "Harry also had a bad childhood, but he didn't become like Snape, he could have chosen to be good too" Do we really want to compare them? Let's go in order, I partly understand where this phrase comes from. Harry and Snape are in similar situations as children, as is Tom Riddle. Recluses in the Muggle world, poor, halfblood, misunderstood, treated badly by parents and peers etc... The similarity is fitting up to a certain point and fascinating BUT from the age of 11 onwards it no longer holds.
When Harry arrives at school he is no longer poor, he discovers that he has a mountain of gold left by his parents, to put it in a refined way: he is filthy rich. Snape never will be. Once Harry arrives at school he makes friends with Ron and other Gryffindors, makes positive friendships, is welcomed by the Weasleys, and finds people ready to protect him. Snape, on the other hand, had only one true friend (we will return to this point in the next chapters), Lily. Everyone else in his house wasn't really friends with him and had a bad influence on him over the years. He never had the support of teachers or other responsible adults. No one ever defended him, in fact he was heavily bullied for years in the place where he should have welcomed him and no teacher, no one defended him. Indeed he was blamed.
The similarities between the two disappear once they arrive at Hogwarts, Harry is famous and popular, Snape is not. Harry is respected, Snape is not. Harry has real friends, Snape doesn't. Harry has people protecting him, Snape doesn't.
So out of the love I have for Morgana, let's avoid making comparisons that don't hold up. If and I mean IF Snape had found himself in the exact same situation as Harry perhaps he wouldn't have become who he became and vice versa. Harry found support, if he had been alone, bullied and marginalized he would have made decisions and a different path.
I'm putting all the Snaters' false accusations into a Wattpad collection, if you have any other points not yet covered let me know in the comments or privately COLPE e MERITI - G. Monti E. - Wattpad

I’ve commissioned the wonderful @sleepybradipo for those pieces of art…and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome.
It shows me, defending and protecting my beloved Severus from his goddamn bullies. I’ve just entered my “overprotective-bitch-mode” for him.
And in the second picture, I’m comforting my Sevy with a kiss on his adorably crooked nose.
It’s one of those many scenarios, I’m using in my head (and I’m also writing about) to escape my devastating reality of “living” (what an exaggeration…fuck!) with ME/CFS. Since I’m always in my dark room…isolated from the world with all those overstimulating things (and people), I’m clinging even more to my imagination of Severus. He’s been there for me for more than 20 years. His resilience, his bravery and his stubbornness were always the most inspiring and helpful aides in my life. My love for Severus (especially the book version of him) goes deep…
@sleepybradipo, you’ve brightened my day with your artwork and I’m extremely grateful, that you’ve spent your time and talent for my ideas. Thank you so much! I hope, I may commission you again!
🖤 Severus and Julia 🖤

Severus hated mistletoe. He stared at it for some time, wondering if the plant deserved the Reducto he so wanted to unleash upon it. Deciding against the waste of magic, he turned to walk away — only to freeze in his steps when the person he’d waited all day to see said, in tones of fond amusement — “Hello, Severus. Look. Mistletoe.”
I drew this for Snolidays Week Two @snapecelebration Prompt: Mistletoe.
Snape unintentionally wound up looking like Keanu Reeves in this one. That’s what I get for doing a 15 minute drawing. Anyway BYEEEE
ID: a drawn bust of Snape. inside his eyes is the reflection of mistletoe. Above him there is mistletoe peaking down from the ceiling. /end ID.

Another headcanon about Severus Snape:
Severus is not only the potion master, he is the master of toasts and spices too.
He really likes it since his mother treated him with cinnamon toasts (toasted bread with butter and cinnamon sugar) when he was a toddler.
When he first attended Hogwarts, he missed it so much that he started looking for the kitchen entrance — and eventually found it. Then he asked the elves for some cinnamon toasts, but it was nothing like his mother's, therefore, he began to grind his own cinnamon sugar mix (he couldn't send his mother an owl to ask for the recipe, obviously), asked Lily to taste every one he made, until he found the perfect one by Easter.
Later, he started to grind all kind of spices mix: salty ones, spicy ones, and so on — so he could just dust it on perfectly toasted toasts. Every year, he went back to spinner's end with a knew mix his mother could taste and she had, too, a new mix for him to taste on their food, mostly boiled potatoes.
When he began to taste food at his pure-blood friends parties and dinners, he created more mixes, with seafood flavours, meat flavours, and so on, recreating the taste of the food he ate there.
During his first year of teaching, Minerva discovered that he still had cinnamon toasts for breakfast, using his own mix, and she started to discuss it with him, and about the mix she used to cook the ginger biscuits she kept in her office. He ended creating the Minerva's Special Mix that she used until he killed Dumbledore. She didn't use it during the whole time he has been headmaster, because it reminded her of the one she thought was her friend and betrayed her — who betrayed all of them.
When Minerva became Headmistress of Hogwarts, Albus' portrait informed her that the former headmaster left something for her in a cupboard.
And here, hidden with a dozen of protective spells, she found the biggest jar she has even seen containing kilos of Minerva's Special Mix — enough for 100 years of ginger biscuits — with a note:
If you found this note, it means that I am in the impossibility to give to you myself, Voldemort has been defeated, and the students are in your care — the best and kindest care I could have ever wished for them. I won't dare ask for your forgiveness, but I definitely have to thank you for your kind friendship during those past 16 years. In hope this mix will find you in good health and help you comforting the students in need as it comforted me for years.
Your friend,
Severus.

Me when I defend Snape so much and remember that Snaters brush me off as just “some Snape apologist” even though I actually have so many criticisms of his awful actions, love his deep-rooted flaws and complexities, love to analyse how much his horrible childhood shaped him out to be for the rest of his life and how it turned him into what he hated most (a bully), and usually the only times I defend him are when his haters misconstrue what he did and make up fanon claims about him, not because I can’t handle when they say anything bad about a character I love, but because I simply can’t handle when people misunderstand his character (for better or for worse):

When Snaters are going after student Severus and you point out that his actions were responses to being bullied and they try to defend the bullies with
“But they were just children!”
Guess what, so was Severus just a child. A child who’d been targeted his whole life and learned to start swinging back.
You can’t defend bullies with “oh just kids” and vilify their victim for pushing back.
