Enjoying? Just enjoying? I've been loosing sleep over it lol. I re reread it over 4 times. I absolutely love it. There is not a lot of Snulciber content out there and i already went through the whole tag, and then you appear with your beautiful well plotted fic ahhhh I'm so excited!

I love how you are handling Slytherin and the tension on the boys dorms. I absolutely adore your Wilkes, he is so sweet?? But at the same time i feel like he can and will kill you if the situation calls for it (basically the looks like a cinnamon roll, could kill you meme) and Avery! I'm really looking forward to see his development, can't wait to see what will happen after the first task.

Loved that Mulciber took Severus side from the very beginning and he even stands up for him I'm crying. Severus of course being oblivious and suspicious about someone caring about him. Can't wait to see what you will bring us!

AU Headcanon:

Following the werewolf incident and SWM in 5th Year, Snape feels like the DE are his only way out but is still uncertain, especially after what happened with Lily.

Slughorn is a fairly uninvolved and lax presence as Head of House, so Snape's future career meeting has been delayed until very late into the final term. When he goes to the meeting, he finds a drunk Slughorn who can't really focus on the topic at hand. Snape remains largely disinterested and stayd only as he is yet to be dismissed, until in his inebriation Slughorn mentions Horcruxes, something Severus has read about in the library in his quest for more knowledge, both about the dark arts and about wizarding history (having found Binns' lessons on the subject rather inadequate).

Severus listens as Slughorn spills the entire saga of Tom Riddle and the horcruxes with dawning horror - clearly this is a man off the deep end, only in it for himself and unlikely to give the promised glory to his followers. As Slughorn realises what he's done and starts blabbering about secrets and not telling, Severus realises a new opportunity and promises to never mention the incident to anybody - even Dumbledore - as long as Slughorn agrees to connect him with a summer job opportunity Severus didn't have the references for before at an Apothecary and to help secure him an apprenticeship with a Potions Master.

Slughorn goes along with his promise and Snape has a fulfilling summer away from Spinners End and the tension of his parents, and makes some money from it to boot. The Apothecary is impressed and seconds Slughorn's recommedation for an apprenticeship, which Severus takes up straight away after 7th Year, having grown apart from his Slytherin friends now his future is already secured to focus on designing more spells and experimental potions.

Using these, he completes his apprenticeship in record time and becomes the youngest potions master in Britain in centuries - he sets up business as a potioneer, making potions to order as well as the general stock, developing new potions and getting these plus the improvements to old recipes published in academic journals. He also continues studying runes and the dark arts on the side, developing more and more advanced spells.

As DE activity rises into the peak of the first war, he becomes aware that both his success and his absence from the DE ranks that had been almost guaranteed to Voldemort by Lucius have gained unwanted attention from the Dark Lord, who he doesn't wish to bow to after having had the opportunity to become his own master. As a safeguard, he develops more defensive spells, including some that could be considered 'Dark' due to their sheer force, and, recalling the what he'd heard from Slughorn to set this all in motion, begins to work on a spell/potion that could nullify Horcruxes purely by being cast on the maker, without the need to find the vessel.

In the meantime, a prophecy has been delivered to Dumbledore that he has reason to believe may have also reached Voldemort's ears (but not from Severus). He speaks to the faculty of Hogwarts to try and see if any of them remember anything new from the days Tom Riddle was at Hogwarts, only to be startled when Slughorn starts blathering on about Severus Snape of all people.

Slughorn refuses to say more, so Dumbledore finds Snape to gather more information. Finding Snape unable to be legilimised and seemingly unwilling to talk to him, he casually mentions that he has reason to believe Lily may be directly in danger if Voldemort isn't stopped, leaving Snape torn between loyalty to Slughorn and his promise after all his help, and loyalty to his friendship with Lily and how much that meant to him - however sour the ending.

Snape tells Dumbledore everything Slughorn told him, and explains about the spell he's created (much to Dumbledore's surprise and spellcrafting is a difficult process that few master even after years of practice and here's this 20 year old who doesn't really get the big deal). He agrees to give Dumbledore the spell on the condition that Severus won't be dragged into the fight and will be able to publish his research on it (and all the other spells he has created now he knows how rare it is) once it proves successful.

A trap is set, and Dumbledore uses the spell against Voldemort, reuniting his soul in one vessel and then magically overpowering him to defeat him. The DE are rounded up and arrested, and Trelawney who gave the prophecy is revealed as a fraud.

Severus keeps his work to himself until the last DE arrest so as not to draw a target on his own back, then publishes the research into his spells bit by bit (keeping some to himself for protections sake, obviously).

He becomes acclaimed for both his work with spellcrafting and potions, and is rewarded with an Order of Merlin for his contributions to the defeat of Voldemort.

He forms a solid network of friends thorugh his life and continues developing and publishing both potions and spellcraft, as well as running his increasingly successful potions business.

He helps his mum move out away from Tobias, and lives a happy, healthy, comfortable life.

Occasional Snape headcanon time!

One of the more ridiculous ones I play around with sometimes (that I don’t think I’ve ever written into a fic anywhere? hmm) is that Snape, despite being fairly terrible/awkward with people unless he’s really putting in the effort, is super intuitive and can give a fair tarot reading, lol.

Like, he’s not a Seer or anything, but part of the reason he absolutely despises Trelawney - aside from the prophecy thing - is that she sucks at the subject she teaches. Severus is like Minerva in that he doesn’t put store in Divination, but he’s not bad at reading signs in cards and runes and whatnot. He just chooses not to, because he thinks it’s ridiculous.

It was an accident he learned anyway. One time he gave Minerva a reading for her birthday as a joke to annoy her / amuse her, but he ended up being right. They laughed it off, but on the rare occasion someone convinced him to pull out the cards for fun (usually on a night the Heads of Houses had been drinking together), his “silly predictions” and other insights ended up being spot on. He refused to do it after a few years, mostly because he didn’t want anyone associating him with Divination or knowing that he had any skill in that realm. 

(He also stopped altogether because, even though it was ridiculous and not worth believing in at all and a complete waste of time, he didn’t really know if he could handle it if he read anything for himself.)

the differences between liesi and stoves lying are... um phenomenal . the easiest way to describe stove and liesi’s vast differences is... that stove leans compulsive and liesi leans obsessive. i’ll explain this for every liesi. probably. Later though

For stove, lying is a compulsion. stove lies from a place of fear. Rejection, in any form would be a death blow to her. she really only started lying after she started school. stove does Not travel the world, stove is not a pureblood, she hates quidditch, and her family doesnt have any real financial status. 2 be frank they didnt even know the rules to quidditch when xe became the schools announcer (which is part of the reason xe became such a popular sports announcer later But)

anyways they sometimes engage in backhand deals to bring money into the mahtava family to make their grandfather proud (read: make their grandfather forgive them for being a halfblood). oftentimes when they leave for shady business they pick a plausible place and say theyre enjoying it there. xe’s not even exactly busy! xe pretends to be so xe’ll always have an excuse to leave wherever xe is. Xe’s So Fucking Uncomfortable Everywhere and so Fucking Valid. 

she.......... lives in a fragile fantasy state to make herself seem cooler, seem happier, seem more stable. sometimes stove even finds herself buying into her own lies from time to time. opting to weave a narrative on what they wish their life was rather than what it is. i think if someone ever catches stove on a lie, xe’ll have a breakdown. xe’ll have a complete nuclear core meltdown because xe’s lied so well xe really has convinced xemself and can’t come to face xyr own reality

thats why i’m reminded of gastby (please god the book gastby that movie Sucked) when i look at stove. the way he lies is similarly...... pathetic. and i think stoves going to go to xyr grave dressed up in brightly colored suits and trying so desperately to fit in. i think if stove thought freddie could be wooed at all xe’d do the exact same sort of stuff. or you know she would literally do that to anyone who was nice to her. she would be eager to show them the stove she’s made. or show them the stove they want her to be

15. If he’d lived, how do you think he would have gone on with his life? I think he’d just,, vanish from Hogwarts and the main wizarding world, no matter any awards he gets or not. You’d find him somewhere near a rocky cliff overlooking a stormy sea. Behind the tree-line on the rocks above is his cottage, where strangely colored smoke always plumes out of the stone chimney and the trees whisper such peculiar things to you. The oddly colored mushrooms and toadstools look identical, but Severus, expert potioneer, knows the difference. He spends his time creating and inventing, for no one in particular. Maybe he’ll feel empty, not creating for someone else. After all, he lived almost his entire life in the servitude of other people. Maybe after feeling lonely, he’ll come out with a book later, publishing a revolutionary book in the field that will be well sought after. Maybe he’d finally get the power he’s always wanted, by pursuing his passions. Maybe people would finally come to admire him and appreciate him :)  💖 and this time, he didn’t even have to change a single thing about himself to accomplish that!  💖

23. How is Snape with animals? (if u disregard the,,, j.k. terfling harming animals in the wizarding world and treating it as a common occurrence *cough cough* transfiguration class *cough cough*) then I feel like Severus is great with animals. He is deeply protective of those animals that are considered “creepy” or “ugly” or “weird.” He knows what it feels like to be vilified and labeled so harshly when all you did was simply exist. He thinks rats are cute, sharks are misunderstood, and toads are fun. He would never harm a garden snake and he’s the type of person to put spiders outside instead of killing them. He loves cats and rabbits but would never have them both at the same time. He has conversations with the crows outside as he feeds them breadcrumbs. He’s always wished that someday, someone would show him the love and kindness he’s always shown animals. *bonus* As per my Snape animagus headcanon... I hc his animagus form to be a black netherland dwarf rabbit (I have some snape bunny drawings if you check my archive). Bunnies LOVE him. They instantly know and trust him. He takes in any sick or injured rabbit that can’t get better on its own and he nurses them back to health. Then when he goes to release them after they’re all better, they don’t want to be released. They just hop back into his arms. He’s currently the proud papa of 7 rabbits now, and they all have names and they all love to cuddle him but on their own terms.  💖
