alicia could be MEAN, spiteful, and she knew that. it wasn’t a side of herself that she liked, per se, but it was a manifestation of being so DAMN SURE about everything, being so stubborn in being right. being unable to see how mistakes could be made by anyone. to put it frankly, alicia was PIG-HEADED at times. marietta was one such person who brought this to the forefront – not as badly as some of the slytherins did, but regardless she was generally unsympathetic and it... it would make her feel bad about herself if she ever actually set time aside for self-reflection.

“sneak!” alicia reached out to run her hands along the forehead scar, unsure if she could truly see it there or not. she could perhaps convince herself that ‘SNEAK’ was simply an affectionate nickname from someone who... was playfully mean for affection, but it came out far more sour in her tired, semi-inebriated state. she swayed closer, angling to put her arm around the other’s shoulders. “how HAVE you been?”

          who is she, to say what she - - - what hannah, herself - - - might have done? her mother worked for the ministry, too, and sometimes (sometimes! even when she knew her mum would have encouraged her!) felt guilty for her part in the DA. she wouldn’t have done it, hadn’t done it, but who was to say she wasn’t only a single threat away from it? is it any wonder that she feels bad, for what has happened? “here,” she says, quietly, holding out her hand where a glass vial is perched. “it’s....it’s just essence of dittany. i asked professor sprout for it.  i thought it might....uh....help.” (trying not to stare at the boils, trying not to make it obvious she’s trying not to stare, making herself too nervous in the process.)

The world was amidst the stages of rebuilding.  Tired eyes watching constantly, and Cho is overwhelmed.  Feeling things much too deeply with large empathy and an in-tune emotional intelligence. She sees herself,  at 16, pushing feelings of shame to fill the holes crying left . she sees this version of herself in everyone around her, all trying to put a front of strength until it becomes too much to bare.  Being an outlet for others, trying to take on the world upon her shoulders, it’s DRAINING . & sometimes all she needs are quiet evenings with her best friend. Seated upon the sofa, the raven-haired girl brings a cup of tea for the other, a nightly ritual, “Has a bit of a surprise in it,” tone soft with a tease, a wink before sitting beside her. Knees nearly touching knees. “ How was work, hope we didn’t have too many book-related casualties? No soiled pages? ”

            “I know it’s frustrating.” Her voice was soft, gentle, kind. Not at all condescending. She rose from her chair. “We should take a break. I can make us some tea if you’d like and we can start again later?” Frustration would get them no where, sometimes it was just better to take a break and come back to it with a calm mind. “Not getting things on the first try doesn’t make you a failure.” There was a reassuring smile. “Remember that.”

            he’d been milling about in the hospital wing as he often does when he can’t bare to hide behind his homework any longer, offering madame pomfrey his help wherever he’s able now that she’s overrun with students subjected to cruel and dangerous forms of punishment. but he’s been instructed not to try anything while madame pomfrey’s of looking for another teacher to help her — she’s yet to figure out exactly what jinx has been placed on marietta, and the last thing anyone wants to do is make it worse. 

           so levi just sits with her here, a glass of water outstretched for her to take, entirely unsure what would be appropriate to say. “ yeah, we have. ” he knows what it’s like to lose friends to a choice that he made, and the sting is unlike anything else. the word ‘ G A Y ’ might not be written across his forehead, but it might as well be. that's all anyone knows him for, even if it isn't true. it used to bother him more than it does, but things have settled down since the start of the year, and although it’ll never be how it used to be, he’s starting to feel comfortable in his own skin again. 

          “ i’m sure it doesn’t help much, but people forget eventually, once there’s better things to talk about. ” the attempt at encouragement comes out sounding so weak as he looks at her face, stained as much with pain and worry as it is with tears. “ does it hurt? your forehead, i mean. ”

He may have decided to stay away from Potter and his friends instead of getting involved and, therefore, making an open move against the Dark Lord, but that was mainly for his own safety. This, however, was a different case entirely.

i had such a hard time picking just six characters to highlight in this post because every single character in noxtms is absolutely amazing ! every day i wake up thankful to be a part of such a wonderful roleplay. and i consider myself incredibly lucky for the opportunity to roleplay with all of the wonderful characters. also, can it take a minute to highlight all the amazing takes on canons we’ve seen in this roleplay? truly amazing. 

marietta edgecome ( @sneakscar ) as played by bee. i don’t think i’ve ever played opposite of a marietta- at least not one that’s left such an impression on me ! like wow i just want to shower her and you with love and affection because you both deserve it ! 

avalon balinor ( @avalcn ) played by alyssa. of course no list can be complete without my gal lonnie. i’m not even sure where to start, so bear with me. but i mean whats not to love? a slytherin da member? it’s sexy. also lonnie might be the only character who actually likes each of my three boys (don’t fact check me) but thats jsut impressive. 

oriana trelawney ( @cvriousheart ) as played by chris. i’ll admit, i had a hard time deciding whether or not i wanted to include theora or oriana on this list but in the end orina won ! i just love them a lot. i really enjoyed seeing the interactions between oriana and sybill (may she rest in peace). and i haven’t even touched on the dynamic with oliver ! i’ll admit i was a bit skeptical when you suggested the roommates wc, but any doubts went out the window almost immediately! they’re such a fun pair. 

damien graves ( @chacswins ) as played by gia. what is there for me to say that you don’t already know? i love damien. like a lot. more than i can put into words. he’s just so complex. and i absolutely love the backstory you’ve created for him as well as the family dynamic (i mean duh- i am playing his mother) but !!! i truly look forward to his future happiness because he deserves it !!

Half-full bottles sparkle like jewels in Cho’s otherwise minimalistic apartment. One time, while entertaining a one night stand, he had remarked that her living room looked like an Ikea. To anyone else, it would have been an insult. To Cho, it was a backhanded compliment.
