Baby anoles are here! Every year, my yard fills up with green anoles, doing pushups, unfurling their red neck-flaps, and snoozing in the trees and bushes at night. My yard may as well be a Green Anole Breeding Facility with how many I get every year. Here’s a tiny baby from last night :) June 26, 2019

My back yard apparently has very good yelp reviews, because every Green Anole in the neighborhood comes here to sleep in my trees and bushes. Sometimes they are absolutely ridiculous. I mean, who sleeps standing up????

More Harvey updates. Aug 27, evening. Saw some more insects/spiders, most were very damp. Strangely, saw many more flies than usual--they were all over the ragweed, including a male mosquito (bottom left). Yes, mosquitos are flies! And the males are vegetarians. The wasp nest is now swarming with fire ants. I saw a few more leaf-footed bugs, but still not many. I did find two of my snoozing tree anoles, so at least they're safe. The rain has slowed down significantly. The tropical storm watch has been lifted, and assuming the roads aren't flooded, work resumes as normal tomorrow. Good--I forgot my charger in the rush to beat the storm home and my battery is almost dead. Oh yeah and work is important, things to do etc etc I'm important project manager now blah blah. The snoozing tree anoles are back, and this time they are smaller than ever. (Every spring/summer, my yard becomes the nighttime refuge for green anoles who find the Perfect Branch to snooze on. They let me get super close to them and they’ll maybe open an eye to peep on me but they never move, the angels.) June 21, 2018
