So there are a pair of hares who have been living in my yard this summer. There is one full size adult, and what I would assume to be it's baby.
The baby started out the size of my fist when I first saw it and was small enough to fit in between the fence wire around my garden and ate all my baby lettuce in the spring. Now he's almost as big as his mama and they still come and nibble in my meadow.
I am so proud of this mama for raising her baby and I am so proud of this baby for getting so big and strong and healthy even if he did have to eat in my garden to do it. They're snowshoes and I might cry when baby gets his first white spots.
