SFW Grusha: Burnt Out

"So this is it? You're just quitting?" Grusha asked, as you hummed. The bags under your eyes had never been so prominent in your life; you let out a huge yawn, as you looked over at Grusha. You were just hanging out when you decided to tell him the news.

"Yup, I'm all done. I don't think I can do it anymore. I might battle on occasion, but...I'm kinda just...done." You admitted. You had been one of the youngest champions in the region, and with that came a lot of responsibility.

Nobody told you becoming a Champion meant that you'd be doing so much league work. You were always running around for the Chairwoman, going form gym to gym to test their strength, or even dealing with random disturbances. Free time was lost on you...hell most of your childhood and early twenties were now lost. That isn't even taking account for your team...

"You can't just quit..." Grusha grumbled, getting a bit pissed, "I thought you loved battling."

"I do...I really do but...Grusha how many gym challengers do you face every week?" You asked, turning to him.

"Maybe two a week, sometimes three. During the Treasure Hunt I can get up to ten a week." Grusha said and you hummed.

"Wanna know what I did yesterday?" You asked and he was quiet, "Seven black crystals popped up. Nemona was busy, so I had to go across half the region to take them down. Took twelve hours. My team is still sleeping." You commented.

"You took down...seven of them?" Grusha asked.

"Orders from the Chairwoman. Next week I'm going to all the gyms to fight everyone. I got a solid three days to fight all of you guys. Then the week after, I need to check in on the training camps. The chairwoman told me this morning, that tomorrow I need to deal with one of the titans that's acting up, so gotta deal with that as well." You explained. Grusha was silent for a few moments.

"What about Nemona?" Grusha asked and you shrugged.

"She's got her own things going on. Especially since she's leaving the region soon, so she can try her hand at Galar's gym challenge. Once she's gone I can only imagine the workload I'll be receiving." You said with a huff.

"What about a vacation then? Set some boundaries with the chairwoman as well. You and your team are burnt out." Grusha said; finally understanding. When he used to do snowboarding professionally, there were a few times that he debated quitting for the same reasons. He loved it, but everything got to be too much.

"Think that'll work?" You asked, turning to him.

"La Primera isn't ruthless...I don't think. She's just capable of lots of work and expects that of everyone else. She probably doesn't realize what she's doing." Grusha finally said.

"Man...she's gonna turn me into Larry 2.0 at this rate." You chuckled and Grusha groaned, hitting your side.

"Don't even joke about that." Grusha said, a bit annoyed, "I can't be seen with someone so lame."

"Whatever...fine...I'll ask her for vacation as well as work condition changes...but you're coming with." You said, as you decided you'd be doing that right now.

"Wait...why?" Grusha said, eyes widening a fraction.

"It was your idea, obviously. Now let's go!"

Build- Yevgeny has a build of lean muscle, mostly from his days training. He is built more for running and moving quickly in general than fighting head on. 5'9', 165lb

Hair- He takes a lot of pride in his hair and enjoys putting small ornaments on it, particularly small rings or cuffs on his braids. It falls to about his mid-shoulder blades and is bright white, with small hints of purple throughout, along with at the tips of his ears. On his right side, he styles his hair in long bangs to hide his eye.

Eyes- His left eye is violet like the tips of his ears while his right is a pale shade of blue. He hates the differing colors and considers the lighter side to be 'wrong' given the purple on his ears and in his hair.

Marks- There are a series of triangle shaped tattoos on his nose and under his right eye. They hold no meaning for him, but he uses them to distract from his lighter colored eye and draw people to the other side of his face.

Parents- His mother is still alive, but he has not seen her since leaving the village. He does not know about his father

Profession: While he puts on airs about helping people in need, he is a pure mercenary at heart and only does what he does for the adulation that comes afterward. If it helps someone, great. Hobbies: Hair piece. He has a fondness for decorative ornaments and keeps a few choice ones in his bags. His collection is small as he tends to hold onto only his favorites and sell the least enjoyed once he finds a new one he likes more. However, he doesn't tend to wear them very often. Reading. It doesn't matter what he's reading, he will find the nearest place to get hold of everything from local news to trashy novels. Before leaving his people, he had never had much access to reading materials, all of his focus going to his job defending the land. I want to eventually introduce my other rp characters/OCs here, so I figured I'd start off with my favorite besides my WoL, Ki'to.

Backstory & other info under the read more 'cause it got lengthy. xD

This here is Seire Greystone (formerly Jehantel when he'd adopted his mother's name), bastard son of House Dzemael and youngest brother to the now retired Count. Though his mother had traveled to Ishgard for a while, he was born and raised in Ul'dah. He learned much in the Jewel of the Sands, mainly the merchants' trade and how to source and make his own jewelry.

As his mother forbade him from traveling to Ishgard, he made himself a cozy little spot in the Sapphire Avenue Exchange for many years, though ever questioning why he could not visit his homeland. At age 25 he was finally told why. Though this only served to fuel his curiosity; he'd seen and befriended children born of illegitimate means before, why would it matter over there? Still, he heeded his mother's pleas and stayed.

When she had eventually passed a couple years later, curiosity once again got the better of him and he made his way north.

After settling in to the home he had bought with his savings, Seire finally decided to explore the city. Only to see an all too familiar face; one of his frequent customers, and apparently manservant to House Dzemael, "sent" to keep an eye on his mother and eventually him as well. (Y'all can't tell me the Dzemael's wouldn't be that petty. They absolutely would)

Though he was determined to become a Dragoon, as his mother used to tell him stories of the Azure Dragoon which fascinated him to no end, his old regular had other plans for him. The man enrolled him in the Scholasticate, knowing full well if he became a man of the cloth he would bear no other children of Dzemael blood into the world. Though originally threatening his mother's life if he did not join, he'd soon realized from his demeanor that she walked Halone's halls. Instead threatening to reveal him as a bastard to the entire Holy See. Now, Seire had no clue that that was not as much of a threat as he made it seem, but with his mother's warnings in the back of his mind he conceded.

Not only did he join the Scholaticate, but passed with high honors at the end of his schooling and was extended a hand to join the clergy. Upon chancing to hear of the manservant's dismissal from House Dzemael however (and knowing now he was acting alone), he refused, having no further need to play this game.

Though his faith in Halone was strengthened, he still knew he would better serve her with a lance in hand. So he trained for years to eventually take up the dragoon's mantle. And faithfully did he serve against the Dravanians for many years, and made many an alliance along the way. By the end of his service he was endeared to both House Haillenarte and Fortemps, and even took up the latter's mantle as a knight for a while before he would finally retire at 50. Though what little good it did as he took up the lance again at Count Edmont's behest for the crescendo of the Dragonsong War.

It was then, after man and dragon joined hands once again, that he finally knew peace.

Joey had other business to attend to, so MythicalSausage took Pearl to the Crystal Cliffs where Gem lived. Flying with borrowed elytra, Pearl could see from a distance the massive academy building Gem was working on. The whole area felt very different to Gem's nature inspired base on Hermitcraft, but Pearl could still recognise her fellow hermit's style. Even if this was an alternate world counterpart who she didn't actually know personally.

"Gem! GEM!" Sausage called, as they landed on the steps up to the academy's door. "We need your help! Pearl got swapped with another version of her from another world, and we need to find out how to swap them back!"

"Slow down, Sausage!" Gem sighed, climbing down from where she was building. "Now, what were you saying?"

"Hi, Gem," Pearl said. The wizard turned to face her and frowned.

"Pearl? You look... different."

"That's what I was saying, Gem!" Sausage said. "This isn't our Pearl, she got swapped with her, from another world..."

"Another world?" Gem finally caught up with what he had said before. "Another Pearl? Wait, how did that happen?"

"We don't know," Pearl said.

"That's why we came to you, Gem!" Sausage continued. "You're a wizard! There has to be something you could do?"

"What? Sausage, how should I know anything about other worlds?"

"Well... Maybe you could look for something in one of your books?"

She shook her head. "Sausage, I've read every book I own, and while I don't have a flawless memory, I think I would remember if I'd ever read anything about people getting swapped with their counterparts from other worlds! Besides, you're the one who's actually seen into other worlds, right?"

"That is true..." He remembered his experiences in the Spirit Realm, as well as something on the edge of his mind about a recent vision. "But I don't think that can help right now. I can't see into the Hermitcraft world that Pearl says she's from."

"Hmm..." Gem and Sausage were both deep in thought.

"Um, if I may?" Pearl had an idea. "Do you have any interstellar smartphones?"

They both stared blankly.

"...A way to communicate with far away planets... worlds."

"A... way to communicate?" Gem asked. "For some reason, I get the feeling you're not talking about magic?"

"Well..." Pearl chose her words carefully. "I think some remote worlds need to use magic to get theirs connected, but most of it is just technology, yes. Sorry, I had a feeling you wouldn't have anything that advanced here."

"So, you're from a world that knows more about technology than magic?" Gem asked. "Maybe you could help us make one, if you think it would work?"

"Ah, well... I don't actually know how to make one, just how to use them." Pearl then had another thought. "And actually, I've never heard of an interstellar phone being able to contact other universes anyway..."

"But I thought you just said they were for communicating with other worlds?" Sausage asked, confused.

"Yeah, I guess 'world' can mean a couple of different things sometimes," Pearl explained. "A planet, sometimes called a server, is just one world, with its own sun and moon, among many that exist in the universe. But sometimes, people who move between planets a lot think of the whole universe as their 'world' if that makes sense?"

"Wow," Sausage gasped. "So there are worlds within worlds, and other worlds too? Maybe that's why I can't see the world you're from? And now the word 'world' doesn't feel like a word anymore!"

Gem shook her head fondly. "Actually, I think there are still some sections of the library at Rivendell I haven't explored yet. Let's try to find something there."

"Great! I knew we could count on you, Gem!" Sausage cheered.

"Thanks, Gem," Pearl smiled.

Gem leaned back, seated on the windowsill in her nature-themed palace. She giggled at the sight of her cat playing with one of her old shoelaces, then glanced back at her phone screen.

I don't generally make this kind of thing a habit, but I think if you happen to be on the Crystal RP Discord, aka @crystal-rp-ffxiv, you should probably be aware of this kind of behavior, so here goes.

If you're on Crystal RP and the admin team decides they don't like you, you're going to be living under a microscope while they wait for you to mess up, if not bait you, probably while making up conspiracies about you as well. As for how I know this, I was a moderator for about a week's duration and saw it first-hand.

From the first time I looked in the mod chat I knew something was wrong. I read backwards in the channel, thinking I'd acclimate myself and see what kind of rules precedents had been set and that sort of thing. I mostly just found out that they had it out for a particular member (at the time using the name Jericho) for not much reason. They'd spent a troubling amount of time over the past few months watching him and another member like vultures, believing them to be the same person and waiting for them to make some kind of mistake that would justify banning both of them...despite keeping different schedules, having different personalities and typing habits, and visibly being two different people. The admin team had come to the conclusion that Jericho was a troll who wanted to make them look bad, and anything he said or did was scrutinized to a ridiculous degree for evidence that would corroborate their belief.

Except none of the things they believed at all were true: he'd had a minor argument via DM with the head admin Benjimir Thursby's wife, Tessariel Aerlinn, who had made an overly broad statement about anime and Asian culture. Jericho had told her that overgeneralization about 'Asian culture' is potentially racist, and she became extremely angry, saying that because she's Asian, she can't be racist against Asians. After that, it seemed that Jericho was considered fair game for whatever retaliatory actions the two of them could justify.

Even a cursory glance at actual racism in Asia pokes Tessariel's statement entirely full of holes, and having personally read the conversation I didn't see anything actually inaccurate in his statement even if she believed it didn't apply to her. I asked what he had done that would merit such a response, because it felt very disproportionate to anything I'd ever seen him do publicly, and that was what I was told. The exchange via DMs had been screencapped and kept in a channel for evidence, and while I didn't get a copy of it, I did read it, and I said that I thought it sounded awfully one-sided and punitive and would have been much better as an actual conversation. I also expressed that I was concerned how much of the channel had been solely devoted to what was basically a witch hunt, considering that some of the server members had over the course of the past couple of months commented that the admins' behavior towards Jericho seemed biased.

I basically got a pat on the head and told that my opinion was "valued" but wrong. This would happen a lot over the course of the week.

Shit continued to escalate. Their favorite punching bag, who was acutely aware of the grudge by now and probably trying to be nice and discuss something that he thought they could all talk about, brought up some articles that stated that LOTRO might be having a graphical overhaul. This actually ended in him being put into some kind of time-out mute, because "everyone knows those articles are debunked already" despite them still being hosted on reputable games news sites. Back-channel, the admin consensus was that he was in fact trying to bait Benjimir and Tessariel into somehow looking stupid in public, because [paraphrasing] 'he knows how important LOTRO is to them.'

Benjimir in fact went off publicly about how he knows the dev team and they sent him 'personalized swag' for 'being himself' and that everyone should just listen to him because he's right. Someone else made a reasonable request for sources on statements that Benjimir made about the LOTRO improvements not happening, and they immediately became the team's private #2 punching bag.

The whole time I reiterated that this was really uncomfortable and I had serious concerns about the way they were handling Jericho. And as always I received a pat on the head and was told to not worry about it, there were really good reasons for it, really. He was 'bringing down the quality of discourse' on the server somehow. Benjimir decided that the only way he would unmute Jericho is if Jericho talked directly to him, and that Jericho tried to talk to any of the more level-headed members of the team first was taken as obvious evidence that he wanted to evade rules and create problems. I asked when we planned to unmute him, and Tessariel immediately jumped to the conclusion that he had messaged me, which wasn't incorrect but the way she worded it felt highly accusatory and I was beginning to feel that I was also in trouble somehow for not agreeing with the rest of the team.

Things came to a head quickly when I woke up and looked at the mod chat and they were having an animated conversation that started with Benjimir asking if it was 'bad that he was laughing at Jericho' and most of the rest of the team talking about how he was stupid, uninformed, a troll, etc. for the sin of having some misgivings about cryptocurrency, of all the things. One of the mods self-described their behavior as bullying. I said that this was extremely unprofessional and that I thought they should keep conversation to actual moderation matters, and if they had a personal disagreement with a server member they should handle it in a personal venue, not via official server moderation channels.

I was, for the final time, patted on the head, and told that this was not something they would consider, because the moderation team 'needs to be able to vent for their mental health' (never mind that the job was not stressful except for the rest of the team committing worse behavior than the server members) and that maybe I was in fact too sensitive for the job. Benjimir heavily implied that I had become too close to Jericho and was being manipulated, managed to misgender me somehow despite my having used solely male or neutral pronouns the entire time I'd been on the server, and after relating a story in which a couple of years ago a well-liked moderator left after having the same complaints as I did (which he saw nothing at all troubling about), suggested that I should be demoted to babysitting the lore channel.

So I took some time to collect receipts, which are linked at the top of the post, and told him where to shove it.

Since that time, things have actually somehow gotten worse on Crystal RP. Benjimir posted an entire page screed vaguely talking about "rampant negativity" that stated anyone with questions should DM him.

Upon DMing him with questions, Jericho was banned, the only reason given being that he was a 'poor fit' for the server in some vague way. I was immediately banned afterwards for calling out this decision as being driven by a personal vendetta in the feedback channel and let him know afterwards via DMs in no uncertain terms that I had logged everything I needed and would be building my case (and that he is an asshole). Jericho was reinstated, though I'm not sure what the conditions of his return were as that was after my ban and I didn't ask since I didn't want to stress him out further. Benjimir also reprimanded someone for discussing asexuality, stating in a DM to them that the conversation was somehow ERP related. I called him out on this via DM as well. Tessariel was not much later caught posting my last DMs to Benjimir in an entirely unrelated server, though she didn't include the part after that where I brought up his aphobia (during Pride Month, in a server with a rainbow icon no less). Benjimir for some reason decided to suddenly start following my FC's Tumblr well after our falling-out.

And as of today (6/24), Crystal RP now has seven pages of draconian rules, because it wasn't micromanaged hard enough before or something. Notably, a lot of these rules describe behaviors that they wanted to punish Jericho for but couldn't at the time justify, or that they'd like to punish me for but have nothing they can do to me. Or they exist to justify their own behavior, as now seen in the very beginning of the channel:

"This approach also provides our volunteers with leeway to act in good faith without the burden befitting a professional occupation."

"So we afford them the means to speak openly, vent, lament, candidly and yes, sometimes crassly and raw about everything and one."

Not only did they behave unprofessionally and shit-talk before, they have now encoded in the rules that this is acceptable and even good moderator behavior, because they saw someone else do it so it's fine (a lot of this wording is very similar to what I was told when I protested it). So rather than address anything I ever said past or present, Benjimir is choosing to double down and giving himself and his team explicit permission to be shitty, right in the opening paragraphs where you'd have expected a mission statement or at least some sort of welcome.

Which is about all you need to know about that server and its owners, in my estimation. I'd considered not even posting to Tumblr about it, but given that it's only getting worse, I think it should be generally known that this is how you can expect to potentially be treated.

Adelaide is closed-off, introverted, and a bit uncomfortable in her own skin. She seeks to fix the last problem by pushing herself to the limits and mastering the art of swordplay. Hair: Long and dark red, Adelaide has naturally curly hair that she desperately tries to keep straightened as she finds her curls too wild and uncontrollable. And Adelaide does not like having any part of herself uncontrolled.

Build: Adelaide prides herself on how fit and trained she keeps her body. Like most elezen she is tall and willowy naturally, but she is also quite strong and graceful. Because Adelaide wants everything about herself to appear ‘just so’ and silently revels in appearing somewhat unapproachable- she also stands with perfect posture, head held high, shoulders back, and back straight.

Common Accessories: Adelaide always has a sword on her-- even when her family complains that it really ruins the mood of a party if she’s standing there in the corner with a sword at her hip. Most commonly it is a rapier, but she trains with multiple types of swords and can occasionally be seen with one of those. She also commonly wears a simple, but elegant, ivory ring that marks her as a duelist in the not-entirely-legal dueling circle she’s a part of. She frequently has a pocketwatch that she looks at (quite often) during parties and wears white wool coats with big buttons, elegant gloves, and exceedingly well-cared for and clean boots. Recently she has taken to wearing lovely ribbons in her hair when she is not dueling. She has nothing much to say about these ribbons other than “they were a gift”.

PERSONAL –––

Profession: Adelaide’s “profession” is doing the accounting and paperwork for her House. It’s a job that frustrates and annoys her. She also keeps herself busy by teaching wealthy children sword techniques and calligraphy (which she insists are very similar fields of study).  Never spoken of in public is that Adelaide also fights for the “honor” of her family by partaking in underground duels when the Azemerien House (rather infamously an unpleasant group of wealthy ne'er-do-wells) runs afoul of another noble house. It was discovered rather early on that Adelaide, who did not have the charm or inclination to rise in the ranks of social popularity, did have an impressive ability at fighting. Doing what they could to shrug off the fact that the eldest daughter of the House had intimidated every potential suitor and was a sighing, irritable wallflower at parties-- her family has since found a use for her by getting into fights and having Adelaide finish them for them.

Hobbies: Exercise/training, maintaining a winter rose garden at her estate, calligraphy, learning new styles of swordplay, collecting books of poetry, attempting to learn various forms of music (and failing miserably at all said attempts), feeding birds and fish.

Residence: Adelaide lives in Foundation with her rather large and very unpleasant family.

Patron Deity: Halone, the Fury who she reveres enough that she’s named her chocobo “Glacier” with the explanation that Halone is known for ‘moving Glaciers’ and so she might as well be known for the same.

Parents: Adelaide does not get along with either her mother or her father. All the same, she feels it’s her responsibility to set that aside and do what is best for the family.

Siblings: Adelaide is the oldest in the family. She has 4 younger brothers and 1 younger sister. Her youngest brother is very sickly and requires a lot of expensive care that her parents and other siblings do not seem interested in dealing with. This brother and his affection for the rest of the family and her affection for him is the reason that Adelaide does not just leave though she frequently fantasizes about it. 

Other Relatives: She has two uncles, one who has recently passed away (of rather mysterious circumstance). That uncle had a daughter, Adelaide’s cousin Koriah Azmerien, who ran away from the House when she fell in love with a hyur named Lysander in Limsa. She is missing and presumed dead, but before she vanished she asked the family to take care of her lover’s younger brother, a boy named Evander ( @dumb-hat ). Though Adelaide and Evander did not spend much time together, she none-the-less considers him family (even if the majority of her family absolutely does not.)

Pets: Adelaide loves all animals but particularly loves fish and birds. She has an aquarium of fish and, while she does not own any birds, she often buys seed and feeds wild ones.

If that is the case, it is Adelaide that you (or your cavalier) will face. Or perhaps you’d like to learn to learn sword styles from an Ishgardian instructor? Adelaide can do that too.

Eat the Rich: Are you playing someone who wants to steal from snooty nobility? Well, Adelaide’s family is a perfect mark for that. Adelaide, herself, looks like a good mark for it too.

Despite being Duskwight, her complexion is just rosy enough that she can reasobly pass for Wildwood or Ishgardian if she tries.

Profession:  Duels has become a fashion of sort among some of the young nobles in Ishgard. Spurred on by lofty notions of chivalry and long lost and romantic ideals, any dispute, however minor, quickly escalates into a pristine glove on the floor or in the snow or, in rare occasions, in the mud. That said, duels are not without a risk, and perhaps this adds to the appeal for these young nobles, desperately longing for something grander now that the Dragon War was over. While a fight to the death are rarely the goal, accidents do happen, and furthermore, the duels has been banned by the city. So to avoid damage or dishonor to their house, many a young noble hires Cavaliers, trained duelists who will do the fighting in their stead, and should it come to it, take the punishment for the duel. Faust has served as the Cavalier of Avoix Ferois for somewhere between six months and a year. Ferois is a minor noble house, but Avoix is a temperamental young man, and Faustine has fought, and won, enough duels for him to build a fair reputation for her name. Avoix of course would have preferred that it was for his name, but Faustine is just charismatic enough, just skilled enough, and most importantly, just not-Duskwight enough to be remembered herself.

Hobbies: Faustine enjoys poetry, collecting weapons (rapiers mostly, daggers, sometimes other swords), drinking wine (preferably expensive, even more preferably paid for by someone else), buying clothes (elegant, of course), reading, enjoying art, and anything that can catch her intense, but fleeting, attention.

Wounds Inflicted by Reason: Faust enjoys poetry, art and philosophy, and will often attend poetry readings or symposiums. Those well versed in creative circles, especially in Gridania or Ishgard, may know her (or know of her).

I Embrace my Rival: Faust enjoys rivalry, both friendly and less friendly, and not just when it comes to fencing. She can be cocky, and not everyone takes to her that well. Anyone interested in a rivalry of any kind, friendly, playful, bitter, let me know!

What if the reason the End is closed in the lore is because Dream is the Ender Dragon or smth and like as a final fight? Dream has Crystals set up all over the SMP high up in the sky and underneath the ground (since the healing beam can’t be blocked by blocks or entities). He set something else to make it so monsters are spawning everywhere with insane gear or maybe just normal.

What if this is where Dream’s cruelty has led him to? The loss of his humanity, the things that once tethered him have been used against him one way or another. His friends were used against him by Quackity. His beloved horse’s body was used against him by Tommy. What if Dream has been falling prey to something else this whole time, and the thing that’s been pushing him has finally won? (because you know I love that them there Dreamon theory and summary for those who don’t know: basically Dream is possessed by his Dreamon when he does really bad shit)

What if this is how the final battle for the SMP- before the world reset- is Everyone on the server, regardless of previous disagreements, grudges, betrayals, and distrust. They all come together to take down the dragon and save the man who has hurt them all but was once upon a time a friend to them all too. Maybe they can kill the dragon but save the man who would lovingly and jokingly pester George to say “I love you” to him. The man who created a religion with Tommy, Tubbo, and Quackity. The man who followed Puffy around like a little duckling during her early months on the server. The man Fundy got engaged too. The man who played chess with Tubbo. The man who cross-dressed and joked around with Quackity to get Tommy to smile during his exile (he wished he could just bring the kid out of exile, but he knows Nightmare would be furious and do something much worse to the boy and the nation he loved so dearly). The man that dotted on Sapnap’s pet fox with Technoblade, feeding the little one Gapples.

Pagan of the good times: Asdis hates boredom. Good times for her means chaos where there is order, destruction as creation, and sometimes a good party. Leisure in the riches and luxuries can have its limits though. New people can be interesting, but Asdis won’t admit that out loud. As a hedonist, Asdis is looking for more than cheap thrills. However, when one has been alive as long as she has, it can be hard find new and exciting things too do.  

All my friends are heathens: Asdis would be very much be interested in meeting other supernatural beings, voidsents or whatever else. Asdis is intrigued by the natural limits of the realms, so anyone that breaks those limits would be of interest. Therefore, lorebreaking or lorebending is totally okay.

So you want to be immortal: Asdis would make a horrible mentor, but she does have stores of knowledge. If the knowledge you seek controversial or immoral to some aspect. Perhaps, there something Asdis could learn from you? Asdis is actively searching other forms of magik, the limitations of aether-use, and the boundaries of alchemy. This could involve history or active research. 

I am a little wicked: Aether is essential for Asdis not only to keep satisfied a starving voidsent, but for her ability to use magiks. Therefore, there hardly anything that stops Asdis from taking aether when she needs it. From murder to massacre, Asdis is a monster. Asdis hardly leaves anyone to tell tall tales, but surely there are people that have met Asdis and lived. Be it a victim, a survivor, a bystander, or someone up to the challenge of defeating this monster like any other monster.

Venting and Warning

Frustrating last two days - let this serve as a reminder for anyone out there of how FC rules operate and a notice of who tried to completely yank our entire one out from under us.

For those who forgot, or never knew, an FC’s ownership is immediately transferred to another member of the group if they are absent for 35 days. While I have read about it going to the highest rank people in the group when I was looking at it after this event, it did not do so for ours. It went to someone with greater longevity. I was the highest ranked outside of the FC leader and their alts as I had brought up a couple ideas and we decided to roll with them and redecorate the house to better reflect what we were going for. I got the position to complete that. Its been months of gathering, crafting, and buying each piece of furniture we needed to completely furnish the entire place as a one person project, only finally completed within the month as we gear up in anticipation of our official opening night and the remaining planning that goes along with it.

I was away due to the 4th of July and doing things out of state for just over a week, before deciding to login. The time frame had expired as our FC leader was out of country and had recently come back, only to get caught up in RL activity and pass that magic number of days. The transfer happened. It went to someone that was absent for months or longer at times, and had never taken part in any sort of group RP or discussion in the entire time I have been part of the group, which goes all the way back to Heavensward.

They kicked every member of our FC. Years of gathered one-use items from events or quests lost in an instance of demolished personal rooms as they showed no distinction or concern for who was in the group, what we were doing, or the fact that they were impacting multiple players. All that furniture still sitting in the FC with my name likely on it, Fen Lohro, as they removed everyone. Initially we were concerned someone had hacked their account and this was done without their awareness, but when I mentioned it to our FC Leader, he found that he was blocked by her Discord. He contacted another person that was formerly in our group who had been closer to them, who reached out and got the confirmation. It was them. They simply booted everyone as soon as they got leadership.

It took over 24 hours until the middle-man in the conversation finally managed to convince the bandit, Estella Westin, to relinquish leadership back to our FC Leader, thankfully it happened before she did more than change our group name. It was then that we could see the activity, where the ownership transferred the very day I logged in, at which point she had demoted everyone and then proceeded to kick them all from the group. Her reasoning when she finally gave back the ownership to the rightful FC Leader? “You bailed.”

She made no effort to contact anyone, ignored the fact that I had been on the previous week and we were clearly doing things with the group. She ignored the fact that she had been kept in the group despite years of being a nonexistent part of any concept or activities we did together. She discarded the fact that our FC Leader built the majority of ships and submarines in the company workshop. Our FC Leader explicitly chose never to remove her as he had no desire to see her lose any of her items if she had one-use belongings or if they would exceed the time allowance to claim private room items at the Resident Caretaker. His consideration for her time and effort were not something she returned for him and anyone else.

I generally try not to get involved in this sort of drama, I prefer not to call people out as I tend to feel that outside of the truly dangerous individuals that pop up from time to time that people should make up their minds on other players regardless of my past experiences with them. However in this case, I feel that she is a danger to any group that could be susceptible to letting their attention lapse for long enough that ownership could transfer. Be mindful of the FC ownership rules and make sure you do not let them lapse if you have people in your group that you are not certain about. Be warned about her selfishness if you have positive interactions and invite her in.

Personally, I will blacklist her characters and keep her Discord name on hand in case I come across them in any shared RP community so I can update that list should she make another alt or pop up on one I was unaware of.

Slight Edit: To avoid confusing her with anyone else, this is Estella Westin on Balmung I saw other characters on other servers and do not want them to be unfairly caught up in this.

Second Edit: Well, looks like trouble is averted for now, my Crystal buddies. They jumped ship to Faerie over on Aether for anyone out that way.

Garlean Soldiers (Current or Former): Be it they were conscripted due to conquered territories or born Garlean, there’s a sense of comradery between the two. While it’s noted that one sees themselves higher than the other, most would die for the other in times of combat to see the Empire succeed. Maybe they knew each other while serving the empire or found each other throughout Eorzea?

A Love For Technology: Given her roots in the Garlean Empire, she has gotten her hands on their technology. Even with losing all she had, she has gathered more to tinker around within her workshop. Her favorite of course would be what she knew back in the forces. If someone were to bring a piece for her to mess around with, they would instantly become friends. Long nights of talking over schematics, formulas, maybe even the most potent way to make a clean kill with less mess.

Travelling and Worldy Cuisine: The woman has been around most of Eorzea at this point just to see what she couldn’t when caged up. Doing so, she also expanded her repertoire of dishes she can create. If she could look at one of the positives in being conscripted, it was the fact they threw her in the kitchen from time to time. How she didn’t end up poisoning someone in the beginning, there’s no telling. Get her talking about dishes and preparation, she can go on for hours.

Delivery!  -- Chessi Eder is commonly on the road, moving between Ul’dah and Gridania to deliver shipments of her uncle’s alcohol to a variety of taverns. Commonly seen at chocobo stables and bars, Chessi usually has a delivery in progress or is about to complete one. 

One Dumb Broad -- She’s ... really not the brightest candle in the room and she knows it. This has led Chessi to get into any number of scrapes, usually because she just assumes people are honest and when they say they need help, they really do.

gentlemen, i've had enough of this weirdness: ( for the non-dedicated/light-hearted characters ) she'd never admit it but this woman has too much time on her hands. More often than not she'll be knee-deep in some sort of shenanigans and unknowingly involve other people. It's also common for her to research legends and explore the mysteries of Thanalan with the small wish that she might happen across something fantastical. However, some of these myths lead people far and deep into the dangerous areas so she's taken to remain within the city borders until she's found someone dependable to weather her fearful nature and combat weak tendencies. 

i prefer the term archeologist-in-training, tyvm: ( for academic/bookworm related characters) the love of history and Ul'dahn culture came from her mother, who was locally known for her passion in research and frequent academic contributions to the city. She eventually became a pivotal source of information when it came to history and was requested by scholars for her no-nonsense approach and can-do personality. Juliet was determined though to not achieve her own dreams by riding on her family's coattails so she's taken to personal networking by becoming an errand girl to scholars and researchers.

sorry i'm dating someone, his name is debt: ( for crime/rich/underworld related characters ) during her teen years, she suffered a horrid bout of naivety and impatience, trusting the wrong crowd who promised instant gil to fund these excursions she was desperate to embark. not only were they completely false but ended up landing her in a heap of debt to the most unsavory of ul'dah. it's been turns since this incident but she is still paying them back, if not by gil then through small-time favors that are oft of the illegal variety. without having any kind of reputable background she continues to count on them for funding her small projects in return for these favors, landing her to meet strange and dangerous people.

if you could prevent me from dying? that'd be greeaaaat: ( for mercenary/thrill-seeking related characters ) she’ll easily approach the most intimidating warrior but balks at the idea of adventuring into a dark, spooky place filled with undead and .. bugs. 

so she came up with a proposal: accompany her to any field project or excursion, protect her from said beasties and bring her back alive. whatever treasure you find? it’s yours, just keep your mitts off any object of historical value. some say it’s a pretty dumb idea considering she gets little out of it but what they don’t know is that if nobody volunteers, her generous ‘benefactors’ supply their own cut-throat muscle men instead. ???  ( unknown nonsense that may arise ) there are moments when there will be completely interactive NPC's to help build the world of Ul'dah more just beyond the tavern and alleyways, some characters are more prolific than others but generally, I avoid any well-known and existing characters in the story. there might be times when you won't be RPing with Juliet for a time depending on what alignment your character falls under.
