The WIP List - Aged WIPs
Okay, so irl is kind of... high stress at the moment, so let's see if I can just bury myself in some writing.
In particular, I'm starting to get super itchy about fics that I haven't finished and keep intending to. Going to start this as a way to kind of keep myself accountable for actually making progress on these things.
On this list:
After the Light - the Stony MCU/Old Guard crossover that was originally a oneshot, I probably should have left a oneshot, and really probably only need one chapter left to finish--just have to decide what to do it with.
The Real Monsters - the Naruto/CM crossover that I originally thought was going to be 5 chapters, and now I'm hoping to just finish in four. My friends all laugh at me when I say I hate Plot and Plot is a four-letter word? This fic is everything I mean about "I hate plot." It has an 8-year-old Naruto and Sasuke, so there is no romance to play off here, it's just actual plot, and fuck me, I hate this so much. Why did I do this to myself? This is a plotfic, and I know the end, but it's how to get there I'm fucking stuck on, and this one has a lot of people who have been very patient. I just want it done.
Boundless - EraserMight soulmate fic I started for-fucking-ever ago. It follows canon very closely, so I just really need to sit down and speed-watch the relevant parts, and just finish the last chapter where they decide that, yes, they want a romantic relationship with one another.
Prepared to Sacrifice - Ugh... this one has one or two chapters left, maybe, and I'm already 2k into the next one, it's just a very particular type of headspace to write, and I'm having trouble figuring out how to finish it off. I was going to write a sequel but that's almost certainly not going to happen, so the final chapter might just be the opening chapter of the sequel I wrote. It would work as an open-ended epilogue. So just need to finish the damn thing.
A Dragon Among the Ashes - a DekuBaku slavefic that I started for a big bang a while ago and... realized in the middle of writing it that I don't actually like BakuDeku enough to make them the center feature of anything more than a short fic. Like, I do ship them in the lowkey, background way that I kind of feel like "this is basically a good as canon" for a lot of things, and I include them as a background ship a lot, but... Shouto has become my blorbo, and if it's not focused around him, ugh, it's a struggle. I really just need to finish the last damn chapter.
Fireworks and Warnings probably belongs on this list. I probably need to just figure out an end and write it. It's been on hiatus for like 3 years. *sigh*
Basis for Human Hope - Gundam Wing omegaverse fic with 13x2 (yes, you read that right) and endgame 5x2. I need to see if I can remember how to write short stuff and see if I can crunch this one down. I'm, uh, just noticing how many hits that fic has (relative to most GW fic lately), and... yeah, should work on that next chapter.
On the Things Not Posted But I Really Should Work On:
Sequel to my EdRoy darkfic - dealing with the fallout of Ed being mated against his will, for public spectacle no less, and also being knocked up. If I could knock this out in 20k, I'd be delighted. I... uh, have no such faith it's going to be under 30k.
Sequel to my consensual bitching DekuTodo fic - This one has actually been started. I'm, like, over 2k into it (might be more), but uh, kind of missing the endgame here. Probably should just be Shouto having the baby (babies? I honestly don't remember what I was planning), so this should be relatively (I know, I know, don't laugh) short.
Firsts series - This is the high on the list to immediately finish. I started this idea way back when writing Stand Without Flinching. Since finishing the Stars That Have People Names mainfics, this is literally the last piece of the series I plan on writing, and I have had the worst time making myself work on it. I finally kicked my ass into gear last night, and got about 3.5k written on it, and two more of the 5 "firsts" written. That makes 3/6 done, three more to go, and 2 are smutty (which are usually easy, I just really was not in a mood to write smut last night). I really, really want to put this series to bed and mark it complete, so I think this is going to be the next one on the list.
All right--and of WIPs that are not on this list:
Surviving the Fire - weekly updates on this one, and I tend to be very good at keeping to a strict schedule. Next chapter of this hits today. Not a concern.
If You Have Been Brutally Broken - on a schedule, every other Wednesday, I also have at least a couple more chapters pre-written, so hopefully by the time I'm live writing this one, I'm done with Surviving. I love this fic, and I'm excited to force myself to finish it.
A Bun in a Hidden Oven - I basically have it finished. I can add another chapter; we'll see if I bother. No concern here.
When You're Married and No One Told You - this has always been open-ended, and I'll add to it if/when I get the inspo.
To Be Alpha - this is the BakuTodo alpha quirk fic. I have no damn idea where I'm going with it. I'd like to move it up to the WIP list but it's been sitting where it is for years b/c I'm stuck and I disclaimed that when I posted it.
Beware of Alphas - NaruSasu omegaverse. I love the idea of this world (where alphas are locked out of society), but mostly going to see if I find fun prompts to keep it going. Low pressure, as inpso hits.
Okay, now that I've wasted time typing all that up--let's go write. Surviving is due today, so it gets first priority. We'll see what else I get done after that.

Bakugo loves Deku more than anyone, and I mean that in both the "his feelings for Deku is stronger than his feelings for other people" sense and the "his feelings for Deku is stronger than everyone else's feelings for Deku" sense

Hooo boy, ok. First actual fic I've written since I was, like 15, and hey! It doesn't feature murder or angst or anything like that xD
Tag list: @rrandomtthings @dynacats
Warnings: fluff, humorous, soulmates, friends to enemies to rivals to lovers (c'mon, its bakudeku xD), kinda rushed??
Tumblr media
Bakugou and Midoriya have long since received their soulmarks, those of which had appeared on their forearm's when they turned 16. The peculiar part, though, was that Izuku’s soulmark appeared to have already faded, despite having just appeared. That can't be right, can it?! He hasn't seen Kacchan's soulmark as he was constantly covering it up. Even when they went to the beach, and swam around, Kacchan always found a way to keep it covered with sweatbands or bracelets. From what Izuku's been able to see whenever it wasn't covered, it looked faded too
Ok, so maybe staying up until 2:37am, while lying in bed, obsessing over this isn't the smartest idea Izuku’s ever had, but he’ll be damned if he doesn't figure this out. He’s thankful that he and Bakugou were able to patch up the broken pieces that remained of their friendship. And he's oh so thankful that the aggressively fierce, and somewhat hateful, rivalry evolved into one based on... friendship?? He's not sure what their current rivalry is based on, but he's definitely sure that he and Bakugou are friends now.
He remembers when he and Kacchan had their fight at Ground Beta back in school. And then, after he decided to run off and be a vigilante, how Kacchan apologized to him and started calling him Izuku. It took him so long to convince Kacchan that it was ok to call him Deku, and that he actually preferred him to call him Deku. And then, just after their 23rd birthdays, they not only opened a hero agency together, but also start renting an apartment together? Izuku’s over the moon at that. But a small portion of his brain can't help but think about whether he wants to stay friends? What if... What if he ruins the friendship and evolves it into one that's more than friends?? Does he want to - No, stop, enough of that.
Izuku all but slaps his cheeks as he tries to refocus his thoughts. Why would there be baby... talk... Wait. He slowly raises into a sitting position as he thinks a bit harder. As far as he knows, he and Bakugou had been the only two in any, and all, of their friend groups to have known each other since birth. Oh my god.
“Oh my god, oh my god. Kacchan, KACCHAN!!” He launches himself out of his bed, getting tangled in his sheets and falling with a heavy thump to the ground. He frantically kicks his sheets off his feet, and basically rips his bedroom door off its hinges as he runs down the hall to Kacchan’s room. Izuku doesn't even knock, simply throwing the door open in his haste to get to the blonde. Kacchan was just beginning to sit up when he throws himself at the bed. He rather aggressively faces plants into what he can only assume to be the others blanket covered knee as his vision flashes white. He sits up then, and grabs Kacchan by the cheeks, “Kacchan, I've figured it out! It's you!!”
“What the fuck are you talking about, what’s me??" comes the tired, angry response
“My soulmate is you! You're the only one that even makes sense for it to be!!” Izuku swipes his right hand under his now bleeding nose before turning his non dominant arm over, “See? It’s not some weird language, its baby talk!!”
Bakugou squints at his roommate/best friends arm for a minute in the dark before turning on his bedside lamp. He then turns to inspect Izuku's arm once more. "This... looks similar to mine?" And with that, Kacchan removes the sweatband currently covering his soulmark
The two of them stare at each other's soul marks, staring at what is clearly baby babbling. Izuku looks at Kacchan, both parts hesitant and giddy. "Do you... can we... are we-??" He gets cut off by a chaste kiss being pressed to his lips. When the two separate, Kacchan grins at him. "Wanna go on a date, nerd?"

Deku and Bakugou analysis,a bit of a KatsuDeku theroy post.
Warning!!! This thread is very long and has suggestice themes. Please proceed with caution.
"After that, he lit a fire under me like that"
Tumblr media
That's way to sus.
One thing I've noticed too,Deku refers and reacts to Bakugou differently than big heros, even ones that he strongly admires, like, really admires, like all might.
Which makes me thinks..Is all the romantic-like shit done on purpose?
Stuff like this:
That first line translates into: The burning longing in my chest will not disappear.
Second line:I want it to change
He said he daydreams about him and Katsuki in some opening I don't remember.
Stars are VERY prominent with them to,after when Deku said that sus line,he looks up at a star, and saids,he wants it to change,ya know, there is also another song about Katsuki and Deku,Its Polaris. It being about Deku and Katsuki, makes a lot of sense.
Heres why;
"If I could go back and give up everything I had,I would never hide my scars for anything. No not for no one"
When Katsuki bullied Deku,he was scar-ed.
It makes sense. He regrets what he did to Deku. Hes trying to Atone. He absolutely hates what he did to Midoriya, and The line saying,"No,not for no one". It makes sense!
Katsuki hid his scars and tried to act like a big and tough boy, which in reality..
He was the weak one. That's canon, that was touched apond in the manga
---------------------------------------------------
"Say goodbye ,I don't have the strength to let it all end,I would give all and everything if we could mend,All I wanted was you to stay and not disappear,I've decided I will follow my heart,Promise yours will always be right near me.."
Makes a lot of sense. Let me explain,The "Say goodbye" line is a play on deku leaving U.A,and after that..Bakugou saids this,
"I don't have the strength to let it all end!"
Which is..f***ing heart breaking.. Alright let me bring this up,
---------------------------------------------------
Yes, Izuku's exhaustion and pain is the primary focus, but those tiny details imply that Katsuki Bakugou, the guy who has had a strict bedtime and diet his whole life, who puts every bit of effort into his own health, has completely disregarded his self-care to go after Izuku. Which also implies that his body didn't just move on its own when he risked his life for Izuku. It's further evidence that he isn't just trying to atone for his own sake. This guy straight up stopped taking care of himself because he was WORRIED for Izuku. He stopped sleeping in favor of searching. He reaggravated a very serious injury (one that he got already protecting Izuku) in order to protect him AGAIN.
Which..Makes sense... It shows more of a..Softer caring side of Bakugou. It explains it itself.
---------------------------------------------------
"I would give all and everything if we could mend,All I wanted was you to stay and not disappear,I've decided I will follow my heart,Promise yours will always be right near me.."
Wow. If this is Katsuki..Its makes a lot of sense.. He would give..A lot for him and dekus friendship to be better again. That's why he did the training with him.
He would do anything to make the connection with him and deku because..He,wants to mend with Midoriya. Repair the friendship..
But what is really interesting and important is,that,He said "I've decided I will follow my heart, promise yours will also be right near me!" Which means,it wasn't just not his mortal compass..It was also where his,Heart was leading him too..
Which means,Bakugou doesn't just want to mend things for sake of mortality and heroism, but also,it's because..He feels that he should. And I would say he feeling like he should do this because he feels bad for deku,BUT,he said he wants deku heart to stay near his..which means:
"Close to your heart" is an English idiom describing something or someone dearly loved. It can be used to describe anything that has earned a great deal of affection from a person, often through familiarity with it over time. The meaning of this phrase comes from the fact that the heart is considered the organ of the human body that is the source of all love and affection. As such, anyone or anything that resides close to it will be on the receiving end of those feelings."
❗❗❗❗❗
OHHHHHH----- KATSUKI---
It could be platonic-- but...he wants..There..Hearts to be close?? That's oddly specify..He could just say he want them to be close..The thing is,he didn't even have too say anything about hearts..Hearts are symbolized as,a love thing.
--------------------------------------------------
Tumblr media
❗❗❗❗
You're probably asking "Why does this matter???" Well..Ummm..Look at the background. There bubbles, the trope which is used is called love bubbles.
A romantic moment in anime is often accompanied by a pastel background with lots of bubbles. Nobody knows who wanders into all these series with an invisible bubble machine, but maybe they should stop before they get soap in somebody's eye...
Tumblr media
Is..Is he blushing..? That explains the bubble and sparkles..
--------------------------------------------------
Tumblr media
HuH..???? HOW-
Look I don't know what to tell you.
But if that's not romantic, then I don't know what it is.
----------------------------------------
Tumblr media
Peace sign is confirmed to be a bakugou and deku song. He calls this story,MY HERO ACADEMIA,"OUR STORY"...huh..Remember the song "Datte atashi no Hero?" He also called bakugou his hero. Let that sink in.
--------------------------------------------------
Remember shout baby...? Heres more crap to make Bakudeku romantic.
Let's go over that one line again..
Tumblr media
Can't sugar code it. Nope. That's romantic in nature. Unless deku has fucking heart problems, this is romantic. No doubt on my end.
Heres something that just plain romantic.
"It’s frustrating that this unusual scent of hair made my heart flutter. So I hid my lips that’s forming a smile under my scarf.."
Wow... This sounds like Bakugou.
Let me explain why it does sounds like Bakugou. Frustration. About something small as that seems like him. It sounds like him too. And also,Bakugou rarely smiles.. I wonder what they where doing which made his heart flutter.
And why it's romantic..? Hear the way that's worded. The person hide the lips after their heart flutters.
--------------------------------------------------
Alright let's go here. This is a song that supposedly between Bakugou and Deku.
youtube
Let's see it here,
Tumblr media
❗❗❗❗❗
And the kanji used for this song is not helping.
They use the words like "Suki" Suki is only plantoic when revfiring to non humans. Deku uses it to Katsuki at the end of the song in another translation like this,
Suki da suki da suki da suki da
Context clue:
Tumblr media
Suki da,
好すだよ。
Suki da yo.
I like you.
This phrase is commonly used in everyday life. It reveals to the interlocutor that you have feelings for him. It is up to him to interpret the strength of your love.
To avoid misunderstandings, do not tell people with whom you have friendly relations. I already imagine your Japanese friends feeling uncomfortable because they think you are trying to get out of the friend-zone.
Kimi ga daisuki da yo.
大だい好すだ。
Daisuki da.
I really like you.
Daisuki implies that you are a big fan of something when you talk about an object, food or a sports team. This is also the case when you talk about an artist, an athlete or some other famous personality.
But when you say that to someone, it implies that you have strong feelings for that person. These feelings must be beyond normal friendship.
........
*Sigh*
Here's more of the song
"Update! I want to fly, to fly, just to fly so far away, away from here. It can’t be anybody else, I don’t want anybody else. Because I don’t want to regret, I’ve got to say it now,I love, I love, I love, I love,I love being here with you."
The more I read into it. The more the song sounds like Katsuki. And it make sense if somewhat of update is sang by Katsuki.
Think about it. The song said this,
"It's not what you do,or what you say,it who you're with."
And if you think about, someone of these song lyrics sound like Katsuki himself.
This song is blunt. Blunter, then fuck, and you know who's blunt..?
Katsuki.
I'm not saying he sang all of it.. No. Update actually in the outro points about Deku and makes him the main focus. But,these lines make more sense for Bakugou then Deku,
"If you are, you are, you are, you are,If you are with me,Not back, not down, but the reason I was able to see the front only was,You were here"
Those lines make more sense for s5 bakugou and up,then s3 deku. Let me explain why. "The only reason I was able to see the front is because you where here" remember the apology..? If you don't it's chapter 322
Also for a second, let pay attention to this
It can’t be anybody else, I don’t want anybody else.
That's literally at least saying that Katsuki is VERY special to deku. And the context for this is that, who he'd run away with. It's basically saying he'd spend his life with Katsuki away from everybody else..and he would be..Fine..?
That really saying something about his favoritism to Katsuki-
----------•-----------•-----------•-------------•
Tumblr media
SEE WHATS WRONG...? If ya don't then,here;
Tumblr media
It's really just explains itself,Katsuki and Deku are the only ones here.

Disclaimer
It needs to be said that there is definitely a place for disagreement, discourse, debate, and analysis: that is a sign of an active fandom that’s heavily invested, and not inherently a bad thing at all. Considering the amount of source material we do have (from the manga, to the anime, to the movies, to the light novels, to the official art), there are going to be warring interpretations, and that’s inevitable.
I started watching and reading MHA pretty recently, and just got into the fandom. I was weary for a reason, and honestly, based on what I’ve seen, I’m still weary now. I’ve seen a lot of anti posts, and these are basically my thoughts. This entire thing is in no way comprehensive, and it’s my own opinion, so take it with a grain of salt. If I wanted to be thorough about this, I would’ve included manga panels, excerpts from the light novel, shots from the anime, links to other posts/essays/metas that have inspired this, etc. but I’m tired and not about that life right now, so, this is what it is. This is poorly organized, but maybe I’ll return to fix it.
Let’s begin.
Bakudeku in Canon, And Why Anti’s Need to Calm the Fuck Down
There are a lot of different reasons, that can be trivial as you like, to ship or not to ship two (or more) characters. It could be based purely off of character design, proximity, aversion to another ship, or hypotheticals. And I do think that it’s totally valid if someone dislikes the ship or can’t get on board with his character because to them, it does come across as abuse, and the implications make them uncomfortable or, or it just feels unhealthy. If that is your takeaway, and you are going to stick to your guns, the more power to you.
But Bakudeku’s relationship has canonically progressed to the point where it’s not the emotionally (or physically) abusive clusterfuck some people portray it to be, and it’s cheap to assume that it would be, based off of their characterizations as middle schoolers. Izuku intentionally opens the story as a naive little kid who views the lens of the Hero society through rose colored glasses and arguably wants nothing more than assimilation into that society; Bakugou is a privileged little snot who embodies the worst and most hypocritical beliefs of this system. Both of them are intentionally proven wrong. Both are brainwashed, as many little children are, by the propaganda and societal norms that they are exposed to. Both of their arcs include unlearning crucial aspects of the Hero ideology in order to become true heroes.
I will personally never simp for Bakugou because for the longest time, I couldn't help but think of him as a little kid on the playground screaming at the top of his lungs because someone else is on the swingset. He’s red in the face, there are probably veins popping out of his neck, he’s losing it. It’s easy to see why people would prefer Tododeku to Bakudeku.
Even now, seeing him differently, I still personally wouldn’t date Bakugou, especially if I had other options. Why? I probably wouldn’t want to date any of the guys who bullied me, especially because I think that schoolyard bullying, even in middle school, affected me largely in a negative way and created a lot of complexes I’m still trying to work through. I haven’t built a better relationship with them, and I’m not obligated to. Still, I associate them with the kind of soft trauma that they inflicted upon me, and while to them it was probably impersonal, to me, it was an intimate sort of attack that still affects me. That being said, that is me. Those are my personal experiences, and while they could undoubtedly influence how I interpret relationships, I do not want to project and hinder my own interpretation of Deku.
The reality is that Deku himself has an innate understanding of Bakugou that no one else does; I mention later that he seems to understand his language, implicitly, and I do stand by that. He understands what it is he’s actually trying to say, often why he’s saying it, and while others may see him as wimpy or unable to stand up for himself, that’s simply not true. Part of Deku’s characterization is that he is uncommonly observant and empathetic; I’m not denying that Bakugou caused harm or inflicted damage, but infantilizing Deku and preaching about trauma that’s not backed by canon and then assuming random people online excuse abuse is just...the leap of leaps, and an actual toxic thing to do. I’ve read fan works where Bakugou is a bully, and that’s all, and has caused an intimate degree of emotional, mental, and physical insecurity from their middle school years that prevents their relationship from changing, and that’s for the better. I’m not going to argue and say that it’s not an interesting take, or not valid, or has no basis, because it does. Its basis is the character that Bakugou was in middle school, and the person he was when he entered UA.
Not only is Bakugou — the current Bakugou, the one who has accumulated memories and experiences and development — not the same person he was at the beginning of the story, but Deku is not the same person, either. Maybe who they are fundamentally, at their core, stays the same, but at the beginning and end of any story, or even their arcs within the story, the point is that characters will undergo change, and that the reader will gain perspective.
“You wanna be a hero so bad? I’ve got a time-saving idea for you. If you think you’ll have a quirk in your next life...go take a swan dive off the roof!”
Yes. That is a horrible thing to tell someone, even if you are a child, even if you don’t understand the implications, even if you don’t mean what it is you are saying. Had someone told me that in middle school, especially given our history and the context of our interactions, I don’t know if I would ever have forgiven them.
Here’s the thing: I’m not Deku. Neither is anyone reading this. Deku is a fictional character, and everyone we know about him is extrapolated from source material, and his response to this event follows:
“Idiot! If I really jumped, you’d be charged with bullying me into suicide! Think before you speak!”
I think it’s unfair to apply our own projections as a universal rather than an interpersonal interpretation; that’s not to say that the interpretation of Bakudeku being abusive or having unbalanced power dynamics isn’t valid, or unfounded, but rather it’s not a universal interpretation, and it’s not canon. Deku is much more of a verbal thinker; in comparison, Bakugou is a visual one, at least in the format of the manga, and as such, we get various panels demonstrating his guilt, and how deep it runs. His dialogue and rapport with Deku has undeniably shifted, and it’s very clear that the way they treat each other has changed from when they were younger. Part of Bakugou’s growth is him gaining self awareness, and eventually, the strength to wield that. He knows what a fucked up little kid he was, and he carries the weight of that.
“At that moment, there were no thoughts in my head. My body just moved on its own.”
There’s a part of me that really, really disliked Bakugou going into it, partially because of what I’d seen and what I’d heard from a limited, outside perspective. I felt like Bakugou embodied the toxic masculinity (and to an extent, I still believe that) and if he won in some way, that felt like the patriarchy winning, so I couldn't help but want to muzzle and leash him before releasing him into the wild.
The reality, however, of his character in canon is that it isn’t very accurate to assume that he would be an abusive partner in the future, or that Midoryia has not forgiven him to some extent already, that the two do not care about each other or are singularly important, that they respect each other, or that the narrative has forgotten any of this.
Don’t mistake me for a Bakugou simp or apologist. I’m not, but while I definitely could also see Tododeku (and I have a soft spot for them, too, their dynamic is totally different and unique, and Todoroki is arguably treated as the tritagonist) and I’m ambivalent about Izuocha (which is written as cannoncially romantic) I do believe that canonically, Bakugou and Deku are framed as soulmates/character foils, Sasuke + Naruto, Kageyama + Hinata style. Their relationship is arguably the focus of the series. That’s not to undermine the importance or impact of Deku’s relationships with other characters, and theirs with him, but in terms of which one takes priority, and which one this all hinges on?
The manga is about a lot of things, yes, but if it were to be distilled into one relationship, buckle up, because it’s the Bakudeku show.
Power is Power: the Brain-Melting Process of Normalization and Toxic Masculinity
One of the ways in which the biopolitical prioritization of Quirks is exemplified within Hero society is through Quirk marriages. Endeavor partially rationalizes the abuse of his family through the creation of a child with the perfect quirk, a child who can be molded into the perfect Hero. People with powerful, or useful abilities, are ranked high on the hierarchy of power and privilege, and with a powerful ability, the more opportunities and avenues for success are available to them.
For the most part, Bakugou is a super spoiled, privileged little rich kid who is born talented but is enabled for his aggressive behavior and, as a child, cannot move past his many internalized complexes, treats his peers like shit, and gets away with it because the hero society he lives in either has this “boys will be boys” mentality, or it’s an example of the way that power, or Power, is systematically prioritized in this society. The hero system enables and fosters abusers, people who want power and publicity, and people who are genetically predisposed to have advantages over others. There are plenty of good people who believe in and participate in this system, who want to be good, and who do good, but that doesn’t change the way that the hero society is structured, the ethical ambiguity of the Hero Commission, and the way that Heroes are but pawns, idols with machine guns, used to sell merch to the public, to install faith in the government, or the current status quo, and reinforce capitalist propaganda. Even All Might, the epitome of everything a Hero should be, is drained over the years, and exists as a concept or idea, when in reality he is a hollow shell with an entire person inside, struggling to survive. Hero society is functionally dependent on illusion.
In Marxist terms: There is no truth, there is only power.
Although Bakugou does change, and I think that while he regrets his actions, what is long overdue is him verbally expressing his remorse, both to himself and Deku. One might argue that he’s tried to do it in ways that are compatible with his limited emotional range of expression, and Deku seems to understand this language implicitly.
I am of the opinion that the narrative is building up to a verbal acknowledgement, confrontation, and subsequent apology that only speaks what has gone unspoken.
That being said, Bakugou is a great example of the way that figures of authority (parents, teachers, adults) and institutions both in the real world and this fictional universe reward violent behavior while also leaving mental and emotional health — both his own and of the people Bakugou hurts — unchecked, and part of the way he lashes out at others is because he was never taught otherwise.
And by that, I’m referring to the ways that are to me, genuinely disturbing. For example, yelling at his friends is chill. But telling someone to kill themselves, even casually and without intent and then misinterpreting everything they do as a ploy to make you feel weak because you're projecting? And having no teachers stop and intervene, either because they are afraid of you or because they value the weight that your Quirk can benefit society over the safety of children? That, to me, is both real and disturbing.
Not only that, but his parents (at least, Mitsuki), respond to his outbursts with more outbursts, and while this is likely the culture of their home and I hesitate to call it abusive, I do think that it contributed to the way that he approaches things. Bakugou as a character is very complex, but I think that he is primarily an example of the way that the Hero System fails people.
I don’t think we can write off the things he’s done, especially using the line of reasoning that “He didn’t mean it that way”, because in real life, children who hurt others rarely mean it like that either, but that doesn’t change the effect it has on the people who are victimized, but to be absolutely fair, I don’t think that the majority of Bakudeku shippers, at least now, do use that line of reasoning. Most of them seem to have a handle on exactly how fucked up the Hero society is, and exactly why it fucks up the people embedded within that society.
The characters are positioned in this way for a reason, and the discoveries made and the development that these characters undergo are meant to reveal more about the fictional world — and, perhaps, our world — as the narrative progresses.
The world of the Hero society is dependent, to some degree, on biopolitics. I don’t think we have enough evidence to suggest that people with Quirks or Quirkless people place enough identity or placement within society to become equivalent to marginalized groups, exactly, but we can draw parallels to the way that Deku and by extent Quirkless people are viewed as weak, a deviation, or disabled in some way. Deviants, or non-productive bodies, are shunned for their inability to perform ideal labor. While it is suggested to Deku that he could become a police officer or pursue some other occupation to help people, he believes that he can do the most positive good as a Hero. In order to be a Hero, however, in the sense of a career, one needs to have Power.
Deviation from the norm will be punished or policed unless it is exploitable; in order to become integrated into society, a deviant must undergo a process of normalization and become a working, exploitable body. It is only through gaining power from All Might that Deku is allowed to assimilate from the margins and into the upper ranks of society; the manga and the anime give the reader enough perspective, context, and examples to allow us to critique and deconstruct the society that is solely reliant on power.
Through his societal privileges, interpersonal biases, internalized complexes, and his subsequent unlearning of these ideologies, Bakugou provides examples of the way that the system simultaneously fails and indoctrinates those who are targeted, neglected, enabled by, believe in, and participate within the system.
Bakudeku are two sides of the same coin. We are shown visually that the crucial turning point and fracture in their relationship is when Bakugou refuses to take Deku’s outstretched hand; the idea of Deku offering him help messes with his adolescent perspective in that Power creates a hierarchy that must be obeyed, and to be helped is to be weak is to be made a loser.
Largely, their character flaws in terms of understanding the hero society are defined and entangled within the concept of power. Bakugou has power, or privilege, but does not have the moral character to use it as a hero, and believes that Power, or winning, is the only way in which to view life. Izuku has a much better grasp on the way in which heroes wield power (their ideologies can, at first, be differentiated as winning vs. saving), and is a worthy successor because of this understanding, and of circumstance. However, in order to become a Hero, our hero must first gain the Power that he lacks, and learn to wield it.
As the characters change, they bridge the gaps of their character deficiencies, and are brought closer together through character parallelism.
Two sides of the same coin, an outstretched hand.
They are better together.
How to Kill Middle Schoolers, and Why We Should
I think it’s fitting that in the manga, a critical part of Bakugou’s arc explicitly alludes to killing the middle school version of himself in order to progress into a young adult. In the alternative covers Horikoshi released, one of them was a close up of Bakugou in his middle school uniform, being stabbed/impaled, with blood rolling out of his mouth. Clearly this references the scene in which he sacrifices himself to save Deku, on a near-instinctual level.
Tumblr media
To me, this only cements Horikoshi’s intent that middle school Bakugou must be debunked, killed, discarded, or destroyed in order for Bakugou the hero to emerge, which is why people who do actually excuse his actions or believe that those actions define him into young adulthood don’t really understand the necessity for change, because they seem to imply that he doesn’t need/cannot reach further growth, and there doesn’t need to be a separation between the Bakugou who is, at heart, volatile and repressed the angry, and the Bakugou who sacrifices himself, a hero who saves people.
Plot twist: there does need to be a difference. Further plot twist: there is a difference.
In sacrificing himself for Deku, Bakugou himself doesn't die, but the injury is fatal in the sense that it could've killed him physically and yet symbolizes the selfish, childish part of him that refused to accept Deku, himself, and the inevitability of change. In killing those selfish remnants, he could actually become the kind of hero that we the reader understand to be the true kind.
That’s why I think that a lot of the people who stress his actions as a child without acknowledging the ways he has changed, grown, and tried to fix what he has broken don’t really get it, because it was always part of his character arc to change and purposely become something different and better. If the effects of his worst and his most childish self stick with you more, and linger despite that, that’s okay. But distilling his character down to the wrong elements doesn’t get you the bare essentials; what it gets you is a skewed and shallow version of a person. If you’re okay with that version, that is also fine.
But you can’t condemn others who aren’t fine with that incomplete version, and to become enraged that others do not see him as you do is childish.
Bakugou’s change and the emphasis on that change is canon.
Parallels in Abuse, EnemiesRivals-to-Lovers, and the Necessity of Redemption ft. ATLA’s Zuko
In real life, the idea that “oh, he must bully you because he likes you” is often used as a way to brush aside or to excuse the action of bullying itself, as if a ‘secret crush’ somehow negates the effects of bullying on the victim or the inability of the bully to properly process and manifest their emotions in certain ways. It doesn’t. It often enables young boys to hurt others, and provides figures of authority to overlook the real source of schoolyard bullying or peer review. The “secret crush”, in real life, is used to undermine abuse, justify toxic masculinity, and is essentially used as a non-solution solution.
A common accusation is that Bakudeku shippers jump on the pairing because they romanticize pairing a bully and a victim together, or believe that the only way for Bakugou to atone for his past would be to date Midoryia in the future. This may be true for some people, in which case, that’s their own preference, but based on my experience and what I’ve witnessed, that’s not the case for most.
The difference being is that as these are characters, we as readers or viewers are meant to analyze them. Not to justify them, or to excuse their actions, but we are given the advantage of the outsider perspective to piece their characters together in context, understand why they are how they are, and witness them change; maybe I just haven’t been exposed to enough of the fandom, but no one (I’ve witnessed) treats the idea that “maybe Bakugou has feelings he can’t process or understand and so they manifest in aggressive and unchecked ways'' as a solution to his inability to communicate or process in a healthy way, rather it is just part of the explanation of his character, something is needs to — and is — working through. The solution to his middle school self is not the revelation of a “teehee, secret crush”, but self-reflection, remorse, and actively working to better oneself, which I do believe is canonically reflected, especially as of recently.
In canon, they are written to be partners, better together than apart, and I genuinely believe that one can like the Bakudeku dynamic not by route of romanticization but by observation.
I do think we are meant to see parallels between him and Endeavor; Endeavor is a high profile abuser who embodies the flaws and hypocrisy of the hero system. Bakugou is a schoolyard bully who emulates and internalizes the flaws of this system as a child, likely due to the structure of the society and the way that children will absorb the propaganda they are exposed to; the idea that Quirks, or power, define the inherent value of the individual, their ability to contribute to society, and subsequently their fundamental human worth. The difference between them is the fact that Endeavor is the literal adult who is fully and knowingly active within a toxic, corrupt system who forces his family to undergo a terrifying amount of trauma and abuse while facing little to no consequences because he knows that his status and the values of their society will protect him from those consequences. In other words, Endeavor is the threat of what Bakugou could have, and would have, become without intervention or genuine change.
Comparisons between characters, as parallels or foils, are tricky in that they imply but cannot confirm sameness. Having parallels with someone does not make them the same, by the way, but can serve to illustrate contrasts, or warnings. Harry Potter, for example, is meant to have obvious parallels with Tom Riddle, with similar abilities, and tragic upbringings. That doesn’t mean Harry grows up to become Lord Voldemort, but rather he helps lead a cross-generational movement to overthrow the facist regime. Harry is offered love, compassion, and friends, and does not embrace the darkness within or around him. As far as moldy old snake men are concerned, they do not deserve a redemption arc because they do not wish for one, and the truest of change only occurs when you actively try to change.
To be frank, either way, Bakugou was probably going to become a good Hero, in the sense that Endeavor is a ‘good’ Hero. Hero capitalized, as in a pro Hero, in the sense that it is a career, an occupation, and a status. Because of his strong Quirk, determination, skill, and work ethic, Bakugou would have made a good Hero. Due to his lack of character, however, he was not on the path to become a hero; defender of the weak, someone who saves people to save people, who is willing to make sacrifices detrimental to themselves, who saves people out of love.
It is necessary for him to undergo both a redemption arc and a symbolic death and rebirth in order for him to follow the path of a hero, having been inspired and prompted by Deku.
I personally don’t really like Endeavor’s little redemption arc, not because I don’t believe that people can change or that they shouldn't at least try to atone for the atrocities they have committed, but because within any narrative, a good redemption arc is important if it matters; what also matters is the context of that arc, and whether or not it was needed. For example, in ATLA, Zuko’s redemption arc is widely regarded as one of the best arcs in television history, something incredible. And it is. That shit fucks. In a good way.
It was confirmed that Azula was also going to get a redemption arc, had Volume 4 gone on as planned, and it was tentatively approached in the comics, which are considered canon. She is an undeniably bad person (who is willing to kill, threaten, exploit, and colonize), but she is also a child, and as viewers, we witness and recognize the factors that contributed to her (debatable) sociopathy, and the way that the system she was raised in failed her. Her family failed her; even Uncle Iroh, the wise mentor who helps guide Zuko to see the light, is willing to give up on her immediately, saying that she’s “crazy” and needs to be “put down”. Yes, it’s comedic, and yes, it’s pragmatic, but Azula is fourteen years old. Her mother is banished, her father is a psychopath, and her older brother, from her perspective, betrayed and abandoned her. She doesn’t have the emotional support that Zuko does; she exploits and controls her friends because it’s all she’s been taught to do; she says herself, her “own mother thought [she] was a monster; she was right, of course, but it still [hurts]”. A parent who does not believe in you, or a parent that uses you and will hurt you, is a genuine indicator of trauma.
The writers understood that both Zuko and Azula deserved redemption arcs. One was arguably further gone than the other, but that doesn’t change the fact that they are both children, products of their environment, who have the time, motive, and reason to change.
In contrast, you know who wouldn’t have deserved a redemption arc? Ozai. That simply would not have been interesting, wouldn’t have served the narrative well, and honestly, is not needed, thematically or otherwise. Am I comparing Ozai to Endeavor? Basically, yes. Fuck those guys. I don’t see a point in Endeavor’s little “I want to be a good dad now” arc, and I think that we don’t need to sympathize with characters in order to understand them or be interested in them. I want Touya/Dabi to expose his abuse, for his career to crumble, and then for him to die.
If they are not challenging the system that we the viewer are meant to question, and there is no thematic relevance to their redemption, is it even needed?
On that note, am I saying that Bakugou is the equivalent to Zuko? No, lmao. Definitely not. They are different characters with different progressions and different pressures. What I am saying is that good redemption arcs shouldn’t be handed out like candy to babies; it is the quality, rather than the quantity, that makes a redemption arc good. In terms of the commentary of the narrative, who needs a redemption arc, who is deserving, and who does it make sense to give one to?
In this case, Bakugou checks those boxes. It was always in the cards for him to change, and he has. In fact, he’s still changing.
Give it to Me Straight. It’s Homophobic.
There does seem to be an urge to obsessively gender either Bakugou or Deku, in making Deku the ultra-feminine, stereotypically hyper-sexualized “woman” of the relationship, with Bakugou becoming similarly sexualized but depicted as the hyper-masculine bodice ripper. On some level, that feels vaguely homophobic if not straight up misogynistic, in that in a gay relationship there’s an urge to compel them to conform under heteronormative stereotypes in order to be interpreted as real or functional. On one hand, I will say that in a lot of cases it feels like more of an expression of a kink, or fetishization and subsequent expression of internalized misogyny, at least, rather than a genuine exploration of the complexity and power imbalances of gender dynamics, expression, and boundaries.
That being said, I don’t think that that problematic aspect of shipping is unique to Bakudeku, or even to the fandom in general. We’ve all read fan work or see fanart of most gay ships in a similiar manner, and I think it’s a broader issue to be addressed than blaming it on a singular ship and calling it a day.
One interpretation of Bakugou’s character is his repression and the way his character functions under toxic masculinity, in a society’s egregious disregard for mental and emotional health (much like in the real world), the horrifying ways in which rage is rationalized or excused due to the concept of masculinity, and the way that characteristics that are associated with femininity — intellect, empathy, anxiety, kindness, hesitation, softness — are seen as stereotypically “weak”, and in men, traditionally emasculating. In terms of the way that the fictional universe is largely about societal priority and power dynamics between individuals and the way that extends to institutions, it’s not a total stretch to guess that gender as a construct is a relevant topic to expand on or at least keep in mind for comparison.
I think that the way in which characters are gendered and the extent to which that is a result of invasive heteronormativity and fetishization is a really important conversation to have, but using it as a case-by-case evolution of a ship used to condemn people isn’t conductive, and at that point, it’s treated as less of a real concern but an issue narrowly weaponised.
Love in Perspective, from the East v. West
Another thing I think could be elaborated on and written about in great detail is the way that the Eastern part of the fandom and the Western part of the fandom have such different perspectives on Bakudeku in particular. I am not going to go in depth with this, and there are many other people who could go into specifics, but just as an overview:
The manga and the anime are created for and targeted at a certain audience; our take on it will differ based on cultural norms, decisions in translation, understanding of the genre, and our own region-specific socialization. This includes the way in which we interpret certain relationships, the way they resonate with us, and what we do and do not find to be acceptable. Of course, this is not a case-by-case basis, and I’m sure there are plenty of people who hold differing beliefs within one area, but speaking generally, there is a reason that Bakudeku is not regarded as nearly as problematic in the East.
Had this been written by a Western creator, marketed primarily to and within the West (for reference, while I am Chinese, but I have lived in the USA for most of my life, so my own perspective is undoubtedly westernized), I would’ve immediately jumped to make comparisons between the Hero System and the American police system, in that a corrupt, or bastardized system is made no less corrupt for the people who do legitimately want to do good and help people, when that system disproportionately values and targets others while relying on propaganda that society must be reliant on that system in order to create safe communities when in reality it perpetuates just as many issues as it appears to solve, not to mention the way it attracts and rewards violent and power-hungry people who are enabled to abuse their power. I think comparisons can still be made, but in terms of analysis, it should be kept in mind that the police system in other parts of the world do not have the same history, place, and context as it does in America, and the police system in Japan, for example, probably wasn’t the basis for the Hero System.
As much as I do believe in the Death of the Author in most cases, the intent of the author does matter when it comes to content like this, if merely on the basis that it provides context that we may be missing as foreign viewers.
As far as the intent of the author goes, Bakugou is on a route of redemption.
He deserves it. It is unavoidable. That, of course, may depend on where you’re reading this.
Stuck in the Sludge, the Past, and Season One
If there’s one thing, to me, that epitomizes middle school Bakugou, it’s him being trapped in a sludge monster, rescued by his Quirkless childhood friend, and unable to believe his eyes. He clings to the ideology he always has, that Quirkless means weak, that there’s no way that Deku could have grown to be strong, or had the capacity to be strong all along. Bakugou is wrong about this, and continuously proven wrong. It is only when he accepts that he is wrong, and that Deku is someone to follow, that he starts his real path to heroics.
If Bakudeku’s relationship does not appeal to someone for whatever reason, there’s nothing wrong with that. They can write all they want about why they don’t ship it, or why it bothers them, or why they think it’s problematic. If it is legitimately triggering to you, then by all means, avoid it, point it out, etc. but do not undermine the reality of abuse simply to point fingers, just because you don’t like a ship. People who intentionally use the anti tag knowing it’ll show up in the main tag, go after people who are literally minding their own business, and accuse people of supporting abuse are the ones looking for a fight, and they’re annoying as hell because they don’t bring anything to the table. No evidence, no analysis, just repeated projection.
To clarify, I’m referring to a specific kind of shipper, not someone who just doesn’t like a ship, but who is so aggressive about it for absolutely no reason. There are plenty of very lovely people in this fandom, who mind their own business, multipship, or just don’t care.
Calling shippers dumb or braindead or toxic (to clarify, this isn’t targeting any one person I’ve seen, but a collective) based on projections and generalizations that come entirely from your own impression of the ship rather than observation is...really biased to me, and comes across as uneducated and trigger happy, rather than constructive or helpful in any way.
I’m not saying someone has to ship anything, or like it, in order to be a ‘good’ participant. But inserting derogatory material into a main tag, and dropping buzzwords with the same tired backing behind it without seeming to understand the implications of those words or acknowledging the development, pacing, and intentional change to the characters within the plot is just...I don’t know, it comes across as redundant, to me at least, and very childish. Aggressive. Toxic. Problematic. Maybe the real toxic shippers were the ones who bitched and moaned along the way. They’re like little kids, stuck in the past, unable to visualize or recognize change, and I think that’s a real shame because it’s preventing them from appreciating the story or its characters as it is, in canon.
But that’s okay, really. To each their own. Interpretations will vary, preferences differ, perspectives are not uniform. There is no one truth. There are five seasons of the show, a feature film, and like, thirty volumes as of this year.
All I’m saying is that if you want to stay stuck in the first season of each character, then that’s what you’re going to get. That’s up to you.
This may be edited or revised.

I really hate how I always become obsessed with ships where two people are childhood friend and the two of the genuinely respect, care or balance off each other so they basically feel like soulmates in my eyes I WANT IT SO BAD 😭 KNOWING MOST OF THESE WILL NEVER BE CANON SO DOES THAT ME TO THAT I WILL NEVER FIND THE PERSON OR CAN'T BE WITH THEM anyway I see love my definition of love is having mutal respect, admiration and you can just balance off each other wither you friends or not even if they have hurt you in the past if they show there trying to change there ways for themselves and you though words or actions I believe that with actions its more important because you can honestly make up those words vs doing things I honestly that shows you at least care about them or may love them depending on the relationship and people I stated this for mainly in bkdks case and a couple of other ships because I know I may get backlash for shipping them because its "abusive "even though katsuki is atoning for his past actions and the other ships that may cause backlash I believe that those characters show they have cared for the people am shipping them with at least more than others in their respected shows from my prospective and if they aren't childhood friends aren't what I've said earlier at all in this paragraph they just a crack ship or rare pair that are a really funny and cute dynamic from what I feel like they would act with each other in yakunoya ,kensato , lachambers, satogou and chailei case I like them a lot because even though most are rare pairs I believe they are really cute and have mutal love respect care and Adramtion for each other I think they can tell each other almost anything if not anything and honestly could be soulmates in how they are written / protraied in the mangas, the novel, the animes ,the movie , the series from how I see them with my definition of love wither platonic or romantic.

BUT ANYWAY I fricken love you can tell I have a huge ass obsession on all of these ships and which ones am obsessed with at the moment like deadass it turned to a long ass rant about the things I ship if this post does well then I make full on post about all of my ships to crack ships to otp ships and explain and analyze the ships and if this post doesn't ooh well am still going to do it because I think it will be fun and some of these ships really so need more content on here and other platforms I have.

Fanfic idea am too tired to write for now pt.1
So I have many fanfiction Idea, yet my dumb ass is just way too tired in so many ways to actually write anything for now, so I decided “Why not just make a list and see what people enjoy, might give me motivation”. This might be a multi-fandom post, depending on how many idea I can brings back from my bad memory.
After all, what better than writing a fanfic is to just dumb down the plot and ramble about me ideas.
TodoBakuDeku
Soulmate marks AU
They are all soulmates, and two of them a really dumb. The two first to notice are Midoriya and Todoroki. Somewhere after the sport festival, they happen to be changing at the same time for X reason and one of them notice they have a matching marks. We have two dorks unsure what to do, but they decided “Hey, lets give it a chance, we are already on a good start”.
Everything goes well, everyone do kinda notice how close they have become, but hey maybe it just how they are with close friend (especially with poor Shouto being a novice at friendship). But, one day when they are all changing after a sport class, Kirishima points out how similar Bakugo’s mark is to Midoriya’s one, making our explosive boy mad but then realise they have the same. Somehow these two childhood friend either never actually notice it (tbf, Bakugo’s mark isn’t that visible) or just erased that information from their memory if it was ever discovered.
And then we have Todoroki and Midoriya unsure what to do since they weren’t expecting to add a third person (after all it is rather rare thing to happen, but not in my fanfic), while Bakugo is just confused at how this situation as escalated quickly. Then we simply have a couples chapter seeing how thing are evolving between them, maybe some jealous Bakugo who didn’t want any of that at first but didn’t like seeing them this close when he could be a parts of it.
And somehow I wanna have Kirishima trying to help his friends, because of course he would, despite being confused by missing the part where Todoroki is also part of the equation.
Fantasy AU
This one would probably need to be cut in two parts? Like I imagine them meeting on a first quest and kind of slowly falling for each other that way? Like, Midoriya was already on this quest with Iida and Uraraka, joined later by prince Todoroki after Midoriya broke the ice (dum dum tss). They probably meet Bakugo on the way, already acquainted with Midoriya because of past event and decide to tag along “Because I was already going there, anyway Deku would get himself kill if he went alone”. So they ends up kind of bonding over the thing they live through and after killing the demon or something.
Second part is something I feel has more seriousness to it, happening a couple years later, where their relationship is something along the line of “I have no clue what relationship I have with these two exactly, there seems to be something but am not sure, but one thing I know is I am ready to die or kill for them”.
This would happen where Todoroki’s kingdom is dragged into war against the dragonkin because they are allies of the one going against them for land and riches. Todoroki has no choice but to actually follow his dad and obviously Bakugo will take care of his kind. I was imagining this whole scene going where Todoroki asks Midoriya to choice what he knew he wouldn’t regrets doing later on (so obviously going with Bakugo). A truly difficult choice, but the both understand, especially Bakugo, that he has obligation and no real choice in the matter if he wants things to change later on.
So we have this whole war going on, learning that Todoroki was working a little more in the background to actually help or makes thing less bad for the dragonkin when he his the one in commands.
One of the rare fanfic where I had some ideas about how to end this story, despite it being rather unsure yet.
BakuDeku
a/b/o
I was going to make a follow up to Bond where we see some snippet from their daily lives as official mates (yet hidden from the public for obvious reason). I already had a couple of ideas for this one, not sure if it actually count as a fanfiction since all the chapter would be rather “unrelated” to one another, each a little story that doesn’t exactly have a follow up in another chapter.
AllEraserMic
Everyone dies trilogy
I am an angtsy bitch and already started this mini-serie with They Both Knew. It was suppose to only be one story at first, then I wondered “How would the different duo react to on of them dying”. So I already did the Toshinori one, am missing Aizawa and Hizashi. This is purely to write angst since it had been a while since I actually wrote angst (I swear I wanted to cry when writing in on the bus something, the hospital scene was the worst).
So yeah, this is at least already kind of started I suppose.
Soulmate Marks AU
(Can y’all see what kind of jam I like?). This one is an idea that has already be seen quite many time in this ship dynamic, where Both Aizawa and Hizashi are in a nice relationship after discovering they were soulmates when studying at UA. So what happens when Toshinori realise that they are both his soulmate? Of course he can’t tell them, after all he wouldn’t want to break that happy couple.
Of course he’s not the most subtle man on earth about it and the couple does notice how weird he seems to act and how much more than before he make sure that his marks stay hidden.
EraserMic
Villain!Mic
This would most likely be based around the Villain Mic Au created by @corndog-patrol because I just really love her Villain!Mic so much (this is the kind of villain I really love too) and it gave me ideas. Go check her little comics about this AU, it’s absolutely lovely.
This would most likely be a slow burn (because that’s my speciality at this point), with different accounters they have throughout Eraserhead patrols, where he slowly get a better understanding of how Mic actually is, which mean not really a villain, despite Mic trying to convince him otherwise.
I like the idea of working with a Mic who is convince his quirk cannot be use for good because he was convince early on that his quirk is dangerous (painfully proved by his now bad hearing), yet still act in more ways that would be seen a heroic rather than villainous.
Am not an original person when it comes to AU apparently, but I just really like this idea and wanted to play with it a little bit.
If you want a good fanfic that is already written in that setting please go check out Villainous Heroics by Ibelieveinahappilyeverafter. I hope I won’t get subconsciously inspired by it (or at least not too much) when I write this.
BillDip
Reversed a/b/o Dynamic
So I already started it, this is probably cheating, but I don’t have the energy to write right now so fuck it  ╮( ̄ω ̄;)╭. So this is an AU reversing the abo usual dynamic and omega are instead treated very well, coming from a twitter tread i had seen.
The twins are both actors (Mabel the film industry and Dipper more on the theater scene) and Bill is the CEO of the studio for which Mabel’s work. He basically meets Dipper when he was going to greet Mabel and fall head over heel for him, making him want to court him.
This is a rather fluff oriented story, where they slowly get to know each other better and Bill trying to court Dipper because in this house we respect omegas. This is a much more light hearted story than some of the one presented higher in this post. I was only going to start really writing it after finishing my two other AU (the 20′s speakeasy and zombie apocalypse ones), but when i get back into writing I might do that.
Lets make a deal AU
So I already presented this one in a previous list, but I really wanna get to write it down at some point.
This is where Dipper as a lot of confidence issue, comparing himself with his family and not seeing anything good in himself. I wanted to play on Bill not necessarily doing weirdmagedon that year and instead taking interest in Dipper.
I wanted to see Bill slowly pulling Dipper in after getting interested in him and thinking his great mind could help him in his plan. Also what better thing than to have one of the wheel sign on your side?
This is more on a Dark!Dipper AU kind of vibe, where the relationship is probably not as wholesome and good as the other one I’ve written until now, but I wanted to see something different.

Welp, can y’all tell I got interested in bnha lately? (if some of my many doodle of it wasn.t telling). I feel like I write for only two fandom despite loving many show. It just sometimes I feel like I would really be able to do it well? Like I’ve read many Hannibal fanfic, but I don’t think I would be able to write one whom is really good.
Anyway, these are the idea I really wanna write at some point, might get to do it in my not so existent free time or if I don’t feel like reading on the bus.

When I first started reading the MHA manga I knew basically nothing about it apart from the fact that
I apparently had to despise bakudeku
Bakugou was a horrible person (or at least an irredeemable bully)
so I kind of convinced myself that I had to follow that same line of thought while reading and the first chapter was a confirmation of what I'd heard.
I mostly got interested in it because of tododeku, actually, and I spent an entire weekend just immersed in the manga and, of course, I got happy every time tddk had an interaction.
At some point I think I just... Started to respect Bakugou a lot? Like, I admired his determination and will to work for his dreams and wished I could have that kind of strength hkshdj
I honestly have no idea at what point my view of Midoriya and Bakugou's relationship started to shift, but it was gradual and also came from reading other views of fans of the ship (and I wanted to thank @bakugoukatsuki-rising uwu, because she was one of the main people who helped me realize how much they actually don't hate but actually care about each other).
Now I can only see the both of them as soulmates, be it in a romantic or platonic way, because they always gravitate towards one another and it has been that way since they were children, with both life and themselves pulling them together at every turn.
So it just kind of baffles me, I guess, when people who also know this story hate not only the ship but on the people who enjoy it? We all have our own reasons to ship or not ship something, but I can't understand why someone would take time off their lives to make others feel bad about it (specially when, darling, we're talking about fiction)...
Basically the thing is I've been seeing a lot of hate recently, but if people refuse to see the growth of the characters as people and in their relationship with one another then it shouldn't be our problem. I've come to value a lot of bkdk shippers and I'm so thankful for the people who create content and bring it forward into the world so all of us can relish it. Let's just love what we love and enjoy watching these characters grow inevitably closer, despite the wishes of people who can't appreciate it 💕

What are your top 5 Bakugo moments in the series? What are your top 5 relationships (of any kind) in the series?
with the favorite Bakugou moments, I can do you five better -- I have a list of my top ten favorite moments here.
as far as favorite relationships, they would probably be
Bakugou and Deku/BakuDeku - I’m here for this one any way you want to do it. friendship, boyfriends, soulmates, rivals, whatever. I just like seeing them interact in any way, shape, or form. they are the core of the series, for me.
Bakugou and Aizawa - this is a relationship that I’m sort of obsessed with even though it’s rare to get any actual interaction between them in the manga. the thing is, I’m a huge sucker for world-weary mentors forming bonds with confused and wary adolescents with big chips on their shoulders who have too much pride to admit when they need help and guidance. and damned if this relationship doesn’t tick off all those boxes. the moment where Aizawa defends Bakugou during the press conference, and Bakugou listens over in the ol’ villain bar with this little smile on his face, because it meant everything to him to have that vote of confidence in his own inherent goodness at a time when it seemed like everyone else in the world was trying to throw it into question, is still one of my favorite scenes in the series. you can imagine how thrilled I was when it got a callback just recently when Bakugou was rushing in to defend him in return. anyway so yeah I love this. I have probably read every single Dadzawa & Bakugou fic on AO3. there are not enough of them.
Hawks and Endeavor - there is definitely not enough of this, either. plenty of people shipping them, but usually not platonically, much to my disappointment. I’m just a big proponent of Get Hawks A Dad 2020, okay. even if that dad is Endeavor. especially if that dad is Endeavor, because y’all know I’m a sucker for that character development.
All Might and Deku - by this point you’ve probably noticed a definite pattern of platonic dad ships here lol. I don’t know if I have mentioned this on this blog before, but I am aromantic (which is something that took me the better part of 30+ years to figure out, because sometimes stuff that seems really obvious in hindsight somehow completely escapes your notice for a stupidly long time)! which is probably one of the chief reasons I tend to be drawn to gen/platonic ships moreso than romantic ones. for me, familial love is something I can relate to much more strongly, and so relationships like the one All Might has with Deku, where he just loves him so much and he’s so proud of him, and he just ends up basically dedicating his whole life to helping him grow -- that just really hits me in a place I can actually understand. I for reals fucking cried when he hugged him on the beach after Kamino. I still get emotional thinking about that moment. something about the love a parent has for a child, and the trust that a child has in them. guh.
Bakugou and Todoroki/TodoBaku - last but not least, this absurdly stubborn little-friendship-that-could, born of Todoroki’s underrated ability to see right through Bakugou’s bullshit, and his decision to befriend him whether he likes it or not. actually I feel like I shouldn’t even use the word “befriend” there, because that implies that there was actually a process of him gradually becoming Bakugou’s friend, which I’m almost positive there was not. Todoroki literally just woke up one morning and decided that they were friends, and that was that. just like that it became a fact, and Bakugou never had the slightest say in it. any and all protests of “we’re not friends” are shrugged off with the complete and utter disregard that they deserve. Bakugou can say that as much as he likes; he can also say that the earth isn’t round or that the sky isn’t blue. it doesn’t change jack shit and they both know it. anyway so this is another one that, like with BakuDeku, I’ll ship romantically or platonically or anything in between, because either way the core dynamic of the relationship is pretty much going to be the same, and that’s what I enjoy about them. Todoroki basically just sort of adopted Bakugou in much the way one might adopt a stray cat, and that will forever delight me until the end of my days.
so there you go, my top five. at least, that’s what immediately came to mind. I do ship almost every relationship in this series to some degree or other, so there are probably other relationships that I’m forgetting right now which I won’t recall until after I click “post.” ah, well.

Fated~ Poly BakuDeku x Reader
Words: 5,469
Warning: Burn injuries, an angry Pomeranian trying to be sweet and it kinda working but only because of the broccoli baby.
Staring down at her wrist, Y/N inspected the small orange mushroom cloud tattoo on her skin. It sat below her first mark; a cute lavender bubble symbolizing her own quirk. Both appeared years ago, one burned bright into her skin the day she manifested her quirk and the other sat, fading in months later.
It’s said the marks are to connect you with your soulmate. It seemed to be another evolution to come with the quirks as the quirkless didn't get the same predicament throughout life. Actually, there were even a few quirked people that never gained marks. While it seemed unfair and people hated that quirked people got the ideal life and were handed their other half almost straight out the gate, some loved the fact most quirkless people had the option to find their soulmate naturally.
There were even people that covered their mark with another tattoo, to try and avoid searching for their person. Some invested their entire being into finding that special someone. They even made dating apps to share pictures of your mark to help you find your match.
Y/N fell in the middle, she didn’t despise the idea of finding her soulmate, but she didn’t want that to be a major factor in her mind. She didn’t want to spend her life trying to find a person that very well could reject you.
Yes, even if fate had intertwined your hearts, you could reject the idea. While you could only reject your soulmate after meeting them, it was only done with a simple two words- ‘I reject’- and the idea scared the hell out of her.
So here she was, hiding her mark under bracelets or long sleeves, scared of finding her soulmate because two stupid words, but even more terrified because of one stupid thing. The pretty colourful cluster of stars tattoo… sitting just right of her soulmate’s mark.
She had two soulmates.
Of course, there were people out there that dated their soulmate and another set of soulmates, or a fated couple found their third in another kind person. But never has she heard of being given two soulmates.
Now she could be rejected…twice.
“Okay, so since it’s just us girls, I say we watch shitty chick flicks and whine about being single.” Mina huffed, plopping down on the couch.
“Mina… Toru has a boyfriend… and Jirou is dating Mo…” Uraraka pointed out.
“Okay, but I am single I would like to whine about it.” Mina groaned as Y/N sat down. “You and Y/N are single too so, we could still complain.”
“Hey, hey. Don’t bring me into this. I tried my hand at dating, that’s just bleh.” Y/N cringed.
Jirou scoffed. “That’s because you keep putting all your heart into people who aren’t your soulmate.”
“Hey, I like keeping my options open! It’ll happen sooner or later.” Y/N defended herself.
“It could be sooner if you stop hiding the mark.” Mina cheesed. “You know the point is to find the matching tattoo?”
“Yeah, yeah. Maybe I just really like surprises.” Y/N sighed, trying to focus on the two women trying to hide the baby from the rambunctious fairy god mother on the screen.
“Your person kinda has to see the mark for it to click in your heads.” Uraraka hummed. “So, if you hide it…”
“It’s not completely invisible, I don’t always cover it. Any one can see it at anytime.” Y/N rolled her eyes.
“Mmm, okay… Y/N didn’t notice the look Mina gave to Jirou. “Then let us see-.”
Both Mina and Jirou went to tackle Y/N but an instant bubble appeared around her, bouncing them off. “You always try this, Mina.”
“Damn it…”
Leaving the matter to rest, the girls continued to watch the poor obedient fifteen year old send away her only friend. Okay, so yes… Y/N hid the marks for the most part. She wasn’t trying to avoid people seeing the marks per say, but she was just trying to keep it out of… people’s sight…
Actually, she was trying to avoid them being seen, but really, in her defense. The last time someone saw two soulmarks on her wrist she was harassed and bullied until she had to move. So, she felt it was in her best mind to hide her marks and keep a lookout for two matching her own.
And she hoped the girls would leave it alone but-
“Okay… Just a little peek.” Mina whispered.
“No.”
“Just for me?”
“No, Mina.”
“At least describe it a little.”
“No.”
“I just wanna see it.”
“I don’t care.”
“I’m you’re best friend, please.” Mina dragged out the word, as long as her breath held out for.
“Aright, you know. I’m really tired, ladies. So, I’m gonna wrap this up and head to bed.” Y/N sighed standing, letting Mina and Uraraka fall into her now vacant space. “Goodnight girls.”
Ignoring their mixed groans and pleas, Y/N continued to leave, irritated with Mina’s questioning. She didn’t even stop to collect her small throw blanket, but Mina yelped and rushed up the stairs to apologize. She hadn’t meant to piss off her friend, but-.
“Wait! Wait, Y/N, I’m sorry!” She squeaked, slamming into the door that was closed in her face.
“Go away, Mina.” Y/N. “It’s fine.”
“No, it’s not…” Mina whined.
Y/N bit her lip and started at the door. Her first real best friend stood on the opposite side of the door and would probably sit there until she opened the door, like she always did when they fought. But really, she thought about leaving her there and sneaking out the window in the morning, because she was pissed, truly.
“Look, Y/N, I know you don’t like talking about your mark and it’s not okay I kept pressuring you to show us-.” Mina mumbled.
Angry, Y/N yanked opened the door, watching Mina stumble in from leaning on it. “You’re right! It’s not okay! It was mean and stupid and I honestly don’t know why you were so hellbent on seeing it, you never are! Our entire time of being friends- which is three fucking years- you never bugged this much to see it! What is your fucking deal-?”
“Mine rejected me.”
“With trying… to… what?” Y/N continued her rant, before fully recognizing her friend’s words. “What did you say?”
“My soulmate rejected me.” She repeated. “He goes to another school; Asaki Eizo. He’s top of his class, an adorkable nerd. He’s already probably got collage recommendations… he um… He feels that such a um, eccentric personality would distract him form the real things in life. ‘Honestly, I feel you’re too childish to live the life I want.’ His exact words.”
“He called you childish?” Y/N blinked.
“Yeah, but we could still be friends! We hang out every now and then! Just not as… soulmates.” Mina whispered the last part.
Y/N clicked her tongue and nodded slowly, before deciding and grabbing a hoodie. “I’m gonna need an address.”
“What? No. No!” Mina yelped and pushed her friend back in her room. “You can’t go kill him!”
“I never said I would kill him. Just maim.” Y/N tried to press past her friend, but she held fast.
“No, no. People get rejected all the time! It’s okay!” Mina flailed her arms, looking comically like a bird before she tackled her friend to the floor. “I just, I just wanted to see yours because I like the idea of my best friend getting her forever person, even if I don’t…”
Y/N sighed. “Honestly, I might be in the same predicament as you, babes.”
Mina furrowed her eyebrows and sat up on the girl’s lap. Y/N tugged off the bracelets she was wearing and pushed her sleeve up a bit. Mina did her best to keep eye contact with her friend, just incase she wanted to hide it again. But Y/N didn’t, she raised her wrist in between them, revealing the several marks on her skin.
“You… There are… That’s an odd soulmate mark…” Mina muttered.
“No, it’s two. I have two soulmates…” Y/N groaned falling back. “I have two chances of getting rejected.”
Mina pouted and laid down on Y/N, to cuddle her. “I don’t think that would happen. Maybe they’ve already found each other, and they are just waiting on you.”
“I feel like I’d be intruding on a happy relationship.” She sighed.
“I don’t think the fates would have intertwined you to just hurt you.” Mina said.
Y/N played with Mina’s hair. “Mina… You literally just told me that your own soulmate rejected you because you’re a fun girl. So, I don’t think the fates were thinking too many things through at their round table.”
“Mm, yeah, but you know what they say. When you get rejected by your soulmate, it’s the fates realizing they found someone better for you and a new mark should form.” Mina mumbled, sleepily.
“Yeah, yeah. When I see a new mark glow on your skin, I’ll believe it.” Y/N snorted.
“Today’s task is simple. Save the victim before the building comes down.” All Might said.
“Before it comes down? As in actually collapse?” Mineta already had tears filling his eyes.
“It’s what you’ll have to do as heroes.” Tsu commented, before smacking the small grape boy with her tongue. “Stop crying.”
He continued to cry anyway. All Might sighed. “There’s no hidden objectives, or priorities. But it is an incredibility dangerous situation, so you’ll actually have to thinks the entire thing through and when you think you have a plan, you’ll have to make a backup. Stay on your toes, save the victim and don’t get crushed.”
“What happens if we don’t get out in time?” Y/N asked.
“There is a timer, the building won’t actually fall if there is anyone still inside, but you will have failed the test if you can’t get the victim out before it ‘falls’.” All Might answered, surely.
Now each team went through the buildings while the rest of the class watched. There were three separate building, each with different hazards. The timer was set for thirty minutes, the story plot was villains attacked, blah blah blah, the building would fall in thirty minutes and there was still someone trapped inside. A basic training op.
“Hey, you’re not wearing your bracelets today.” Mina noted, holding her hand.
“Yeah, guess I should try and put myself out there.” Y/N sighed. “Plus, can’t let you find your soulmate first, markless.”
“Oh, ha ha. You think you’re funny.” Mina rolled her eyes, playfully.
“I think I’m fucking hilarious.” Y/N grinned, before raising her friend’s wrist. “I wish it would manifest already, looking at bits and pieces of it for the last month is aggravating.”
“Yeah, me too. But think about it, I’ve spent the last four months soulmate-less. Maybe I’m emotionally shellshocked and my body’s trying to fight fate off.” Mina giggled.
It had been two months since their conversation in Y/N’s bedroom and since then, Mina had convinced Y/N to not hide it when they went out into the real world. Especially when they went out without their classmates. Which they’d done a lot more, in hopes to find one or both of Y/N’s mates and maybe to kick start Mina’s new mark. Still she hid it whenever she was at school, this had been the first time she hadn’t tried to hide it. And she prayed it wouldn’t come back to bite her in the ass.
“Y/N, Bakugo, Midoriya. You’re turn.” All Might, clapped her on the shoulder.
“Be careful.” Mina let her friend go.
“Probably won’t.” Y/N cheesed.
And here she stood in between the childhood frenemies, staring up at Building B that bent halfway up at an uncomfortable angle. “I’ll bet you boys my left arm that are victim is up at the top…”
“Probably.” Midoriya sighed. “Any ideas.”
“Stay out of my way.” Bakugo muttered.
Y/N rolled her eyes and turned to glare at the blond. “Yeah, no. We’re a team. So, we work as a team. Otherwise, I will bubble you right here and now and have you follow us like a an explosive toy.”
“I’ll blow your stupid bubble open.” Bakugo snarled down at her.
“Oh, really?” She asked, scoffing.
“Wait, guys, the test is about to start. Maybe we should handle this later…” Midoriya tried.
Y/N ignored him and softy booped Bakugo’s nose. “Do it then.”
A loud shrill echoed through the air, signifying the start of the test and Bakugo was encased in a see-through sphere. Midoriya blinked at Bakugo’s entrapment and then at Y/N who raised her brow expecting him to say something, but her look convinced him to just turn around and head inside the building.
The two quietly searched the building and made their way up and over each obstacle, Bakugo screaming and exploding in his bubble every five seconds. Coming to a two sided elevator shaft, they all paused. The elevator itself was tilted and seemed to be caught on the walls of the shaft, making a bridge way to the otherside.
“Alright, I’m gonna bubble you two through first… Because I feel like if you breath on that thing… it’ll fall.” Y/N sighed.
“We could probably just jump it.” Midoriya suggested.
“We should avoid shaking the building at all, we should treat it as if it would actually collapse. Which, honestly. It might…” Y/N carefully peeked out into the shaft and looked up to find another elevator several stories above. “Also, I’m pretty sure if we put too much weight on this thing, it’ll pull the other one down.”
“I’m gonna push the angry Pomeranian over first and then you. Alright?” Y/N stated.
“Angry Pomeranian?!” Bakugo shouted, his palms crackling.
She giggled and stuck her hand into the bubbled and pat his head. “Yep, keep being an ass, I’ll get you a collar.”
He snatched her hand and tugged her close, trying to force her into the bubble. “Let me out of this damned bubble.”
“I was going to after I got you across, stop being a dick for five minutes or you’ll stay in it!” She snapped, pinching his cheek.
“You had better or I swear I’ll…” He trailed off, looking at her arm. At her multiple marks.
She hadn’t noticed where is eyes locked and hurriedly thrusted him across the opening, before turning to Midoriya and bubbling him as well. She, much more gently, pushed him across the opening before following them herself. And true to her word, she released Bakugo from his soft cage.
“Now, be good or I’ll put you back.” She warned.
“Piss off.” He grumbled. “We got fifteen minutes left, let’s find this idiot doll and get out of here.”
Midoriya and Y/N nodded in agreement and hurried through to the top of the building. Surprisingly, without many words, they worked together well. And when ideas were shared everyone listened, for the most part. They were a good team together, despite, being randomly thrown together.
Y/N gently, bubbled debris out of the way, unaware of the blonde analyzing her and Midoriya. Her soulmate mark matched the one Midoriya had on his own wrist. She’d been there, right under his nose for the longest time, and the dipshit didn’t ever notice.
But Bakugo didn’t notice either. Hers matched his as well. Neither boy noticed that their soulmate was with them every day.
Smoke filled the air as they cleared a hole through the floor above. They could hear the crackling of flames and see the orange light fill the hall above them. Carefully everyone climbed up to the next floor and eyed the fiery hall before them.
“Alright, boys, bubble time again.” Y/N sighed, and looked over at Midoriya who opened his mouth. “Don’t you dare say ‘we can jump it’ because again, unstable building.”
Midoriya turned red, at having been caught. “I- I wasn’t going to say that…”
“Yes, you were.” Both of his teammates said.
“I just don’t want you to overexert yourself, Y/N. You’re the only one whose used their quirk the most here.” Midoriya justified.
“It’s the safest one to use in this situation.” She shrugged, bubbling him. “I’ll only be tired if I use my bubble for an extended amount of time.”
“You had my in a bubble constantly, earlier.” Bakugo pointed out.
“Yeah, see. We can just jump across!” Midoriya tried, but she flicked him across anyway.
“For like three minutes. Five at most.” Y/N rolled her eyes and bubbled Bakugo as well. “I’m fine.”
After she dropped him off, she followed and landed softly. “See, no harm done. I’m a big girl, boys.”
“Well, cool it a bit, dumbass, we’re not useless.” Bakugo grunted, flicking her forehead.
Was that what this was about? “I never said you were, guys. Sorry, if I made it seem that way.” She apologized, following Midoriya to the second elevator tunnel.
This building was so tall, stupidly its elevator shafts had been stacked with a thin base floor between them. Bakugo peeked through, to deem it safe and carefully stepped across, Midoriya moving to follow when the building shook violently, knocking them all to their knees. Not a moment later did the creaking elevator a few floors above drop.
Bakugo yanked Midoriya out of the way, just in time as the elevator crashing into the base floor. Y/N yelped, flying back into the fire from the impact. She shook away her dizziness and stared at the flames surrounding her bubble- thankfully, her reaction time was fast.
“Y/N!” She heard Midoriya yell back at her.
“I- I’m fine. Just caught me off guard.” She panted, looking up at the elevator that almost crushed him. “What about you?”
“We’re fine, no damage.” Bakugo called back. “You’ll have to climb through the elevator to get over here.”
“Alright, well, uh.” She rolled herself back towards the elevator. “You guys go on ahead, I’ll catch up.”
“We can’t leave you.” Midoriya started to come back for her, but a bubbled filled the elevator blocking him.
“Just go, damn it. We’ve got just under ten minutes left, go find the damn vic and I’ll catch up.” She ordered. “I’ll be right behind you guys.”
She lied. Unintentionally, but still. She was trapped against the ceiling in her bubble, protected from the burning flames around her but unable to move. Her bubble had been stuck for the last three minutes, and it was actually starting to get hot inside, the walls of her bubble burning her skin a bit. She needed to get out of the fire, quick before she was seriously burned.
Y/N attempted, again to roll out of the flames but really all she succeeded in was rolling herself in the awkward crevice she was stuck in. Now she was mostly upside down, her forearms pressed against her artificial wall. It was almost like she was pressing herself against hot glass and granted her bubble kept out the black smoke, she had no fresh air. So, the air she did have was getting thick and stuffy and she was going dizzy.
"Y/N!" A voice shouted at her.
Gasping, Y/N looked around to find Bakugo and Midoriya with the victim doll. They managed to find their way back to her part of the maze of death and she just about cried.
"Oh, I could kiss you two right now!" She grunted, her flesh burning.
While Midoriya blubbered, turning twenty-five different shades of red, Bakugo rolled his eyes at her, smirking. "And here I thought you were going to be right behind us.”
"Oh, screw off." She tried to laugh through her pain. "Now please, figure out how to get me out of here, I'm actually being poached."
Thinking for a small moment the boys had to put together a plan. If Midoriya were to full cowl into the flames, this floor would probably give away from the force, taking them all down. Bakugo could have probably blasted her out of it onto the other side, but again they were stuck with their partner being unreachable.
"Boys, just go. You got the victim, the place is supposed to come down in minutes." Y/N coughed.
"Can't leave our partner in here, shit face." Bakugo grumbled.
"Well, you gotta or were all screwed." Y/N argued. "Look I'll be fine, I’m sure someone will come in and help me in a few minutes."
“And you’ll boil alive, yeah right.” Bakugo glared, still thinking.
“Nah, I’ll be fine. A few burns never killed anyone.” She huffed.
Bakugo gave her a look as to shut up, but she kept going. "C'mon Deku, you know I got this. You guys finish the mission."
As soon as Midoriya opened his mouth to try and side with someone, Bakugo leaned down and pulled off his com so she wouldn't hear what he said. Whatever he said made the poor little broccoli boy's jaw drop and eyes grow to the size of moons. Not finding the room to care, Y/N closed her eyes, panting and waited for them to leave.
She heard footsteps and looked back to see Bakugo hauling ass while Midoriya just stood there. "I'm pretty sure you're supposed to follow him."
"Ah, well…" Midoriya coughed, nervously. He seemed way jumpier after what Bakugo said.
"Izuku Midoriya, you will not jump into this fire!" She realized what he was going to do.
"I'm technically going to jump through it." He winced at hearing his full name.
"I think the hell not!" She snapped. "There is not enough space for you to jump. You will just launch yourself into that wall and probably take down this whole floor!"
"Yeah, that's the plan." He nodded.
"What about Bakugo and the hostage?" She glared.
"Part of the plan." He answered, vaguely.
"Yes, the sudden plan you didn't tell me anything about." Her scolding made his face twist into a pout, like a sweet little puppy that got kicked.
"You would have been mad at the plan." He argued.
"Deku… I'm mad right now. If you jump into this fire, I will beat you with Bakugo and then strangle him with your intestines. Don't. You. Dare-." Her threats were cut off by Bakugo's voice in the coming.
"Oi, shut up and trust us. Now hurry it up, damn nerd!"
Y/N groaned knowing they weren't going to listen to reason and they'd probably end up failing this exercise and end up in the nurse's office. Really, she was just overwhelmingly scared her partners would be hurt. She almost certainly didn't care about the grade or herself but just them.
Y/N watched Midoriya spark, before lunging at her. He hissed at the heat of her bubble burning through his costume and onto his skin. Once again, she watched green sparks travel up his arm as he reared back to punch out the cracked wall.
Once they emerged into fresh air, Y/N let her bubble drop fell fully into his arms. As she warned, the building started to crumble from where they emerged and continued downwards. The building began falling over, dropping debris everywhere. As she and Midoriya fell through the air, Y/N watched the building, internally fretting over Bakugo.
Suddenly an explosion erupted from a window and out came the devil himself. Bakugo launched out the window and directly into the two hurling towards the ground. He snatched them out of the air, redirecting their bodies out of the way of the falling building parts.
Panicking, as they came closer to the ground, Y/N quickly encased them in a bubble, despite Bakugo twisting around to take the brunt of the impact. They hit the ground and bounced a few times, rolling around inside her bubble. They rolled to a stop and she let her bubble pop.
They all looked at each other, dirty, burn and dazed and the victim doll safe. The timer dinged overhead, signifying the end of their simulation. Y/N laughed and fell back to lay on the ground, prompting the two boys to look over at her.
“What the hell are you laughing at?” Bakugo huffed and leaned back on his hands.
“That was way more dramatic than it had to be.” She snorted, bringing up her arms to cover her face.
“Y/N… we should probably get you to the nurse’s office.” Midoriya mumbled out, looking at her burns.
Later that night, Y/N grumbled glaring at the angry burns on her arms. Recovery girl managed to reduce them to minor second degree burns, but they still needed to be taken care of outside of the nurse’s office. She had been sitting there for a solid ten minutes, at least, trying to tell herself to just pick up the damn wet cloth and press it to the burns… but it hurt so five seconds after doing so she dropped the towel back into the bowl.
She needed to clean and wrap the burns before she could go downstairs. She took a deep breath and reached for the wet rag again, but thankfully, a soft knock echoed from her door. She jumped up to answer her savior and pulled it open to find her most recent teammates standing there.
“Oh, hi guys.” Y/N greeting, briefly noting Bakugo’s arm hanging over Midoriya’s shoulder. “What’s up, whatcha need?”
“H-Hi, Y/N we just wanted to, uh, um. Well-.” Midoriya tried to stutter out. “We brought you this for your burns!”
Midoriya thrusted out a small bottle of cream. “Aw, thanks. That’s sweet of you.”
“Yeah, yeah. We gotta talk. So, you gonna let us in or what?” Bakugo grumbled, tugging Midoriya closer.
“Ah, blunt as always, Bakugo.” She rolled her eyes and stepped back and gestured into the room. “But, yes, come in.”
Y/N closed the door as they stepped through and took opposite seats. Bakugo in her previous seat and Midoriya on the edge of her bed. The air grew tense and awkward as Y/N moved to stand next to Bakugo.
She played with the cold water in the bowl, still trying to convince herself to clean her burns, but as the minutes dragged on, she became distracted by the two boys in her room. She would absolutely be lying if she were to say she wasn’t attracted to them.
Midoriya; sweet and kind. Probably has killed a fly on accident and cried about it. A cute little broccoli babe. Bakugo; hot-headed and loud mouthed. Probably tells Midoriya he killed a fly just to watch him cry. A hot angry porcupine. She wasn’t stupid enough to try anything with either of them, but a girl could dream, yeah?
“Fuck, come here.” Bakugo suddenly yanked her arm and grabbed the cold rag before pressing it to her arm.
“Ow! You asshole!” She yanked her arm away. “That fucking hurt!”
“Well, I’m tired of sitting her watching you play with the towel instead of cleaning them like you’re supposed to be doing, shitty woman.” He grumbled reaching out to grab her arm again.
“Kacchan, you can’t be so rough.” Midoriya stepped in and stopped him. “Sorry, he get’s like that when he’s worried.”
“It’s okay. You don’t need to worry, though.” Y/N sighed, letting Midoriya take her wrist, the one that was unmarked. “What did you guys want to talk about.”
“Yeah, um…” Bakugo handed him the wet cloth and tugged Y/N to sit in his lap. “Sorry, for being an ass today during training.”
Y/N blushed at her new seating predicament, but she covered her embarrassment with an attempted joke. “Okay, Midoriya what have you done with Bakugo? He’s openly showing he’s worried about his friends and he’s apologizing?” She winced as he patted her wound with the cold towel.
“Yeah, that’s because you’re not his friend.” Midoriya coughed. “Neither of us are.”
For some reason that made her heart hurt. She talked to both boys relatively often, not enough to be as close as she and Mina were, but she was sure she could call them both friends at least. “Well, ouch. Was I that bad of a teammate today?”
“No, you idiot.” Bakugo grumbled, wrapping his arm around her waist tighter and reached over to grab the gauze she was supposed to use and handed it over to Midoriya. “You weren’t great, but you weren’t shit either.”
“Kacchan, be nice…” Midoriya warned, weakly.
“I am, this as nice as I’m gonna get, nerd.” Bakugo muttered laying his head on her shoulder.
Y/N winced again, when the green haired boy wrapped her arm. “I’m sorry? What the flying fuck is going on?”
“Um, I- we… Um.” Midoriya stared at her arm, before looking up at her. “We match.”
Y/N blinked, confused at first. What did they match? Clothes? No. Grades for the match? No. she was two points below Bakugo and one above Midoriya. What did they- Oh.
“Oh.” She breathed.
“Yeah. ‘oh’.” Bakugo grumbled, raising his own wrist up to reveal his marks to her as did Midoriya.
Y/N sat frozen, staring at the matching nine marks shining against their skin. Midoriya began to pull his arm away, to finish dressing her arm, but she was quick to grab him. She brushed a thumb over his tattoos, not noticing the bright colour washing over his face. She grasped Bakugo’s arm and did the same, a gently shudder running through him at the contact.
They matched.
“Y/N?” Midoriya called, bringing her attention back.
“Yeah?” Her voice cracked, and his fingers reached up to brush across her cheek.
“Why are you crying?” Bakugo hugged her a bit tighter at Midoriya’s words.
Y/N sniffled and laughed. “I’ve been so scared to meet you two, I hid my marks for so long.”
“What the hell you do that shit for?” Bakugo grunted, handing her arm to Midoriya so he could finish. “We could have been gotten this over with three fucking years ago.”
“Exactly, I’m not ready to be rejected by one of my soulmates, let alone both.” She cried.
“Rejected?” Midoriya choked. “You think we’re going to reject you?”
“Why the hell would we do that?” Bakugo snapped.
“Any number of reason, really.” She sniffled, pulling open a drawer and pulled out a small legal pad. “They might not be gay. They could be gay for each other and not want a third. They could think multiple people in a relationship is gross. One could think I’m ugly-.”
Bakugo ripped her pad out of her hand and threw it in the trashcan. “All I’m hearing is bullshit. What is with you two thinking this way?”
“Shut up and hand me the gauze.” Midoriya glared up at Bakugo. “You told me to jump off the roof, so could you blame me for being scared you’d reject me.”
“You didn’t even talk to me about it. You ran away, avoided me and then tried to reject me yourself!” Bakugo reached over and thumped him in the forehead. “Almost fucked up everything, dumbass.”
The boys argued back and forth for a moment, Bakugo reaching to attack Midoriya and the latter crying and swatting at the explosive hands gripping his collar. Y/N laughed, easily breaking up their bickering. Both boys smiled, hearing her laughter, if sounded different hearing it now. Especially with what they now knew.
It sounded better.
“This is gonna be one hell of a ride.” She laughed.
“Fate probably said we’d need someone to maintain the speed on this roller coaster.” Midoriya joked, kissing her wrapping after he was done.
“Yeah, better hold on tight.” Bakugo kissed her shoulder.
“I’m not letting go anytime soon.”
 Bonus:
“What the fuck is it supposed to be?” Y/N tilted her head looking at Mina’s fully formed mark.
“I don’t know, I’m really confused.” Mina sighed. It honestly looked like two red jagged planks crossed in the middle making an ‘x’ shape.
“Watch it, Pinky.” Bakugo huffed, dropping on to the couch and thumped his boyfriend’s nose who laid cuddled into Y/N’s stomach.
Midoriya grumbled and curled further into Y/N’s tummy and Y/N swatted away Bakugo pestering finger.  “Stop that.” She ordered.
“He’s gonna ruin his sleep schedule.” Bakugo kept pestering him. “He’ll be up at two am and I’m sending him to bug you.”
“And I’ll call you to come help tire him out.” She smirked, pecking his lips cheekily.
“You guys are so cute, it’s fucking gross.” Mina gagged. “Anyway, I wonder what their quirk would be?”
“I dunno, maybe they’d a treasure finder… like ‘x marks the spot.’ Or something.” Y/N offered.
“Or hardening… because I’m pretty sure that’s Shitty hair’s mark.” Bakugo informed dryly.
Mina blinked at him and then at the person of interest as they popped into the room with Sero. Y/N bubbled Midoriya and leaned to the side, just because she knew what Mina was going to do.
Three…
Two…
One.
“Kirishima show me your wrist!”

heroes rising, more like bakudeku rising
okay, so, this is similar to my post for two heroes where i listed all the ship moments :0 if it wasn’t super obvious THIS POST IS ENTIRELY SPOILERS.
bakudeku
AAAAAAAAAAAA
there were many “KACCHAN”s in varying degrees of pain
deku holds bakugou back when he tries to murder a bunch of kids
rowdy boys roughhousing each other because haHAAHAH BANTER
bakugou’s popsicle dies while he’s distracted watching midoriya give an inspirational speech to katsuma (little boy)
they fight against nine together like 3 times and hold hands 2/3 times
uh midoriya almost dies bc on nine but then bakugou flies in and blasts him right in time. soulmates. (actually mahoro (little girl) makes a giant illusion of deku but bakugou only took like 30 more seconds to get there meaning he was already heading towards there—)
flashbacks to their childhood and all might telling them that they should help each other be stronger
rivals that stay together get beat up to a pulp together on multiple occasions
MIDORIYA PASSES DOWN OFA TO BAKUGOU WHAT THE FUCK?? (i’m still confused how it worked?? like did he eat his blood?? his sweat?? his dried up skin???????)
edit: i’m dumb
but anyway, they do this really tender thing where they’re grasping for each other’s hands and they can only reach the other’s fingertips but then they hold hands and ofa gets transferred yeah
y’all know the iconic “save to win, win to save” from the trailer right
the first thing deku asks when he wakes up is “is kacchan okay?” that’s soft
bakugou forgets about getting ofa, goddammit
they have matching broken arms by the end :))) HHAHAHAH help these children
deku stands next to bakugou on the ferry back to the mainland and bakugou doesn’t shout at him for once wow
this movie was created for bkdk stans, have fun
kiribaku
kirishima and bakugou are shown hanging out near each other at the agency
kirishima offers to help on one of the missions and bakugou says “you really think your quirk will help for something like that” and kirishima is like “hmm 🤔 you’re right...”
kirishima looks like the cutest fucking thing when his head is on the table and he says something about the island i forgot because he was so fucking adorable and this is kiribaku because he’s looking at bakugou while he’s talking
please explain what kaminari meant by kacchan and the bakugous (this isn’t necessarily krbk of course but 🤔🤔🤔)
remember that thing bakugou does in the anime where he pushes kirishima to the side and saves him from being turned into a meatball by shishikura?
he does that again but with the mummy guy
kirishima saying “bakUGOU” after bakugou says they need to kill the villains lmao
tokomina
i did not expect this
they fight against a villain with a quirk that can harden her hair
tokoyami says he can handle it by himself but mina still stays there
when mina gets stabbed in the leg by the villains hair projectile things tokoyami gets all edgy and goes Full Emo Mode
mina is covered by tokoyami’s cloak but idk if he threw it on her or what?
izuocha
“you really are deku!” “what does that mean?” “it means you’re a hero!!!” 😭😭😭😭😭
deku carries uraraka when she’s injured and she’s like “thanks :)”
todoiida
they’re with each other most of the time during the movie
when todoroki gets frustrated and tries to go after the monster villain, iida stops him
todoroki says he has a plan and iida is just like “:)”
when they have to run away, iida just picks up todoroki and zooms lol
todobakudeku
“did we do what we need to? midoriya... bakugou...”
there’s no heterosexual explaination
kirikami
they gang up on bakugou a lot haha
fight against the mummy villain together when bakugou is trapped (and fail but you know what)
todokiri
kirishima goes along with todoroki’s plan and todoroki holds on to him while he uses his ice to move them and kirishima uses unbreakable and?? fellas is it gay????
aomina
they clear out some rocks that fell from a landslide, it’s pretty neat
ashido helps aoyama up after he overused his naval laser
kamibaku
“kacchan”,,,, kaminari the mad lad
basically tells bakugou “you haven’t been doing shit for the agency lmao” because he really hasn’t
bakugou: *praises kaminari while calling him idiot*
kamisero
THE FISTBUMP!! THE FISTBUMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (class 1a is helped by pro heroes after the big battle and when kami and sero are next to each other they smile and then fistbump. adorable.)
momojirou
yaomomo over uses her quirk and she has to lie down. when she’s trying to lift herself to get up, jirou motions her to lay back down.
seroroki
they fight the monster-creature-thing villain with t e a m w o r k
ojirojirou (jiro squared?)
they fight together against nine (and fail but you know what)
kamimomojirou
kaminari and yaomomo overuse their quirks and jirou is very worried
bakusero
sero gets WREAKED by nine while trying to help deku and bakugou (his helmet was already broken and then it got completely knocked off with him on the ground haha this is fine) and bakugou shouts “SERO”
toorujirou
they hug once at the beginning idk lesbians
edit: more pairs that i forgot about >:0
aomomo
they tire themselves out after working together on the first attack on nine (and fail but you know what)
serochako
they set up this trap thing to stop the monster villain (and fail but you know what)
ojitoko
they fight against the monster villain when the villains first come to the island (and fail but you know what)

my favorite bnha ships o(≧∇≦o)
i’m a multishipper (as impossible as that sounds, since i literally ONLY post bkdk LMAO) so i thought i’d make a post documenting my favorite bnha ships! keep in mind that even if i don’t list a ship, it doesn’t necessarily mean i hate it, it’s just not one of my favorites
thought i’d do this to spread some more positivity!!! bnha’s got plenty of cool ships!!! i’m also making this so that if you absolutely hate a ship i list, you can spare yourself the trouble and unfollow and/or not interact :^)
it’s 3 am. expect incoherent rambling. (these are in no particular order btw!)
BAKUDEKU
Tumblr media
do i have to explain this. at all. KJDFJD
i’ve actually always loved this relationship, literally the moment the two were introduced, but i had to grow to love them in a more intimate sense, if you get me... i love bakudeku’s dynamic -- it takes the enemies to lovers trope to the absolute limits and enemies to lovers is already one of my favorites! i think the fact that they have such a deep history together while simultaneously having such a rough and complicated middle school relationship really boosts their potential to improve in the future :’)
basically the entire series puts a huge emphasis on their development and how even the worst relationships with the worst communications and the worst personalities can still come out triumphant!!! i especially like how their relationship focuses so much on airing out the bad while simultaneously tackling the good, and how despite their differences they’re still one of the strongest duos.
their lives are so intertwined, they have been from the very start, and i can’t wait to see them finally overcome their obstacles and stand side by side!!! they are the rawest form of soulmates to me; their relationship is some real cinematic poetry ๐·°(৹˃̵﹏˂̵৹)°·๐
(also, the second bkdk fight that occurs in s3 is still my number 1 favorite scene in the series HAHA)
---
TODODEKU
Tumblr media
this was my first bnha ship!!! it holds a place very dear in my heart :’)
though i don’t draw this one nearly as much anymore (which is hilarious given how it used to be my absolute #1 favorite), i enjoy their unproblematic, helpful relationship! their dynamic’s all about healing and self-realization and it’s so symbiotic and it makes my heart go aflutter!
there’s so many scenes that i enjoy between the two, since they’re both so chaotic in their own ways, but its in the way where they enable each others’ chaos and it ends up being largely entertaining. regardless, their overall respect for one another is also super cute, even when they’re not yelling and acting way too instinctively LOL
whenever i want some cute fluff art between two fluff boys, my go-to is usually tododeku :) i always feel at ease when they’re together!
---
KIRIBAKU
Tumblr media
similarly to tododeku, i really found myself enjoying this one when the second half of s1 and most of s2 happened! they’ve got a really fun relationship full of mutual respect and admiration (/^▽^)/
i particularly like how kirishima is the first person bakugou sees as “on his level”, if that makes any sense! i also like all good things to happen to kirishima, because he deserves it!!!
there’s plenty of scenes where the two of them are being so casually touchy and it’s really cute <3 there’s little drama in this one, but sometimes you need a ship with little drama!
and yeah, the hand-hold scene from kamino still lives in my head rent-free
---
KIRIMINA
Tumblr media
(there’s no gifs of them from the anime...!)
originally i didn’t really care for this ship, because i thought it was a little tacky putting one warm-color-haired character with another warm-color-haired character, but i was so wrong! these two are so adorable, and especially after reading kirishima’s backstory in the manga and how he was so inspired by ashido’s inherent “manliness”, i couldn’t help but fall for their cuteness!!! <333
i’ve always loved the thought of kirishima dying his hair because of ashido, and even adding the little horn-like spikes thanks to ashido’s horns. SO CUTE!!! AAAAAAA
also, a fic that i read a while back actually helped me appreciate this ship as well! i can’t remember the name though o(_ _;o)
anyway, despite not being one of my favorites at first, they’re definitely one of my favorites now!!!
---
TODOBAKU
Tumblr media
i love these two idiots so much LOL
their personalities are so starkly different -- stoic, calm princely boy x literal ball of rage -- but they manage to work really well together, both on and off the field. i especially like how their relationship starts sour, but unlike bakudeku, they don’t really have to go through too much to get on the same page (due to not having a prior relationship).
i also really like how bakugou claims he doesn’t want to be friends with todoroki, but todoroki is all for being friends with bakugou and almost purposefully uses that to tease bakugou. please give me more snarky todoroki!!! d=(´▽`)=b
i hope there will be more todobaku moments, because todoroki’s total denseness is so entertaining against bakugou’s trigger-happy sensitivity and i love watching them be stupid together.
---
KIRIDEKU
Tumblr media
(THERE’S EVEN LESS KIRIDEKU GIFS!!! NOOOOOO!!! well, please enjoy this lovely gif here by pumpkincalico!)
kirideku is just a really pure ship of mine -- it’s two sunshine boys paired up to create the ultimate sunshine!!!
i don’t really have a whole lot of deep analysis for them, because from what i’m aware of, they don’t have a lot of narrative significance. however, that doesn’t matter to me because i think it’s so cute that kirishima clearly thinks deku is super manly and cool and expresses his admiration for him all the time!
i think their relationship would be full of lots of smiles and pro hero fanboying :’)
---
KAMIJIROU
Tumblr media
these two are the classic “calm, cool and collected x total dumbass” ship that i absolutely adore <3 this dynamic used to be one of my absolute favorites when i was younger, but i still really love it now and kamijirou is the perfect example of it!!!
i love how kaminari helps jirou gain confidence in herself and her talents, whereas jirou helps kaminari gain confidence in his quirk and his usefulness in battle! because these two round each other out in that sense; jirou is relatively proficient in her quirk and kaminari is pretty sound in himself as a whole, so they help each other with the aspects that they’re not so confident in!
or maybe i’m just looking too into it. who knows! i just really love their mutually beneficial dynamic (´∀`)♡
(also, they get bonus points for both being music people and being major players in their band! that’s so cute!)
---
MOMOJIROU
Tumblr media
basically my thought process behind this one is “jirou has two hands but they’re both holding momo’s hands”
they’re canonically good friends, which i think is just so adorable, but they’re also always hanging out regardless of the scenario! i also enjoy their taller gf, shorter gf duo, not to mention their clash in styles (elegant and intelligent x spunky and individualistic)! <3
i don’t have a whole lot to say about this one, i just really enjoy how their differences match really well with each other.
---
BAKUKAMI
Tumblr media
i don’t know how i grew to like this one. but i just do
stupid blond x explosive blond. when put together you maximize the chaos and the panic. also, kaminari canonically calls bakugou “kacchan”, which is normally a name only deku uses. that’s my defense!!!
there’s absolutely no reason for me to enjoy this ship as much as i do, but i just DO. SO. YEAH.
---
IIDAOCHA
Tumblr media
(i have no idea what their ship name is, i just searched up iida x ochako and that name seemed to appear???)
i like them in the same way as someone would like ron x hermione: the main female character falls for the second guy instead of the lead. at least, that’s the connection i get when i ship these two HAHA
anyway, i really like their aesthetic dynamic, namely square x circle, because that’s absolutely adorable!!! and the fact that they’re good friends and trust/respect each other mutually is also super cute <3
out of all the ships that include these two, this one is my favorite (*’∀’人)♥
---
IIDATODO
Tumblr media
(again i couldn’t find a gif from the anime itself so here’s a lovely one by crackncheesy!)
i have NO clue how i ended up liking this one but i think they’re really cute together??? they are around each other a lot since they’re members of the dekusquad, and i just think their personalities would be this soft mishmash of a relationship????? if that makes ANY sense
i can’t really explain this one, i just really like it hehe
---
KIRIKAMI
Tumblr media
ketchup x mustard!!! red light x yellow light!!! dumbass x dumbass!!!
they’re usually bros in my head, but i equally adore when they’re stupid boyfriends together. it’s what both of them deserve! (*≧▽≦)
this is also a small thing, but i also like their clash in body types, since kirishima is naturally stockier and kaminari is naturally slimmer. it’s the little things, lol
anyway, i really like their duo and the potential to see them as something more!
---
MIRITAMA
Tumblr media
they’re so cute!!! the official childhood friends to lovers ship in bnha!!!
i really don’t feel like i need to explain myself here, the series really made it obvious that these two have such a beautiful friendship and care for each other so deeply! i’m always a fan of ships where someone inspires the other so much, they change their life, and miritama takes that to new heights!!! (≧∇≦*)
aside from their clearly differing personalities, i also enjoy their complimentary designs -- mirio is light, amajiki is dark... the fact that even their facial features and their body types contrast is just such seamless character design and it makes me so happy inside <3
anyway i don’t talk about the third years much because i’m not as well-versed in bnha post-s3, but i just really love their relationship!
---
ok that’s it!!! there’s probably way more ships that i adore that i’m missing but it’s 4 am now and i really cannot be thinking harder than i already was when i wrote this up so please enjoy and thanks for reading B)

Okay a thought right, yes I'm going to talk about Tekkonkinkreet again 😂
If Bakudeku is suppose to be very Yin and Yang like Black and White in tkk, or yknow.. Yin and Yang is a very popular relationship dynamic anyway..
It explains a lot between them.
It'd explain why Bakudeku basically have the same mind, why despite being different, they are still so similar. Why they always know what each other are thinking. Why they need each other. Why being apart causes them pain.
It also makes me think of Bakugo's struggle with Deku. When it comes to soulmates, Yin and Yang, red thread theories, being seperate from your other half is always a painful experience.
Then I think about how obsessed Bakugo is with Deku. How he's always watching him, always thinking about him, always trying to measure up. And why he's in so much pain and anger when he's pushing Deku away.
At first Bakugo thought he had a reason to push Deku away, even though it hurt him in a lot of ways, but then when he realized he was wrong.. god imagine the grief he must feel.
Pushing essentially your soulmate away when you could be together? Whole? It must really fucking hurt.
Like the theory isn't very farfetched because a lot of the evidence comes from canon.
Wow what a load of babble 😂😂😂
🥺🥺 I love this so much though tbh
Even if it is painful

2020 fic roundup
howdy pardners 🤠🤠 in order to procrastinate more writing here’s my list of all the fics i posted this year (sorted predominantly by ship and mostly in order of posting) - ft a lot of dabihawks and a surprising amount of todobaku lmao. oh and my personal faves are **starred
dabihawks (x)
a lesson in romantics (x) - 66k across 4 fics - the collection of standalone memory loss fics! canon divergent and centered around either dabi or hawks losing their memories thanks to the wonderful commission :) some solid angst and getting back together content, always happy endings!!
haven’t had enough (x) - 5.7k - silly little quirkless au where dabi goes to claire’s to get his ears pierced. multiple times. bc hawks is hot
last of the real ones (x) - 2.6k - less silly, just as little, set in canon-divergence bc i couldn’t get the idea out of my head of dabi getting red wings tattooed on him before ever meeting hawks
**dancing after death (x) - 25k - one of my faves from this year, a canon divergent sort of getting together story involving nightmares, some bad burns, and a bit of dancing
if you fall (hold my hand) (x) - 7.4k - canon divergence (bc apparently i’m a slut for that) and some hurt/comfort, ft a bit of makeout-level spice
no shame (x) - 16k - ah, and here we really dive into the ‘crack treated too seriously’ category, where the league sells feet/hand/misc kink pics to fund their activities and dabi has some photography skills and a wing kink (or maybe just a hawks kink)
broken parts (x) - 23.9k - i stole my own idea for a vigilante!hawks from my tiktok, then twisted it into a severely angsty (with a happy ending) hurt/comfort fic intended to break my own heart and piece it back together. it worked
freeing icarus (x) - 1.8k - the first fic without a happy ending i think i ever wrote, because the canon dabihawks fight actually broke me. some dabi introspection
**to the stars that burn (x) - 3.9k - the second fic without a happy ending, based more around childhood friends dabihawks working at the commission together. bittersweet but without much sweet
**king of disaster (x) - 119k+ - i poured my entire soul into this series, a fantasy au where dabi accidentally binds himself to hawks (an absolute stranger) and shenanigans ensue - this has also evolved to include todobaku, shinkami, and kirideku
enemy of my enemy (x) - 2.6k - a quirkswap space pirate au that truly tested my ability to write action scenes, part of the random prompt collection i did during october 2020
without a fight (x) - 2.2k - a rival band au ft singer!hawks and a grumpy dabi, another of the random october prompts
--
todobaku (x)
like i’m bakugou (x) - 2.1k - it was supposed to be a MEME based on a TIKTOK but i made it kinda serious....and here we are. todobaku on a froyo date
take a bite of my heart tonight (x) - 5k - VAMPIRES lmao. honestly it was a blast to write tho lmao
**if we go down, then we go down together (x) - 9.3k - tdbk get stranded on a deserted island bc tropes are fun lmao. also todo tries to freeze the ocean like elsa which i think is where my writing skill peaked
cold rebellion (x) - 4k - quirkless au where its HALLOWEEN and theyre in a CORN MAZE and they don’t LIKE EACH OTHER BAKA (part of the october prompt fic collection)
make it spicy (x) - 5k+ - predominantly todobaku with a healthy dose of dabihawks and some shiggynatsu as well, a bakery and nightclub au (yes u heard me)
**stitch me up (x) - 35k - todo gets split into both halves of his quirks, sort of, and baku has to deal with it (and i love this au so much i had a blast working on it)
--
bakudeku
rescue me (x) - 11.4k - basically the concept of ‘what if baku and deku were actually childhood friends tho? aka some good wholesome content
**into the dark (x) - 3.3k - afterlife au and originally part of the random prompts, baku didn’t survive the sludge villain incident and deku’s been carrying that weight for a while. and then he doesn’t survive a villain encounter...keep an eye on this one cause i’m working on a part 2 lmao
are you with me (x) - 2.1k - future fic where baku and deku are both heroes and, appropriately, the wonder duo. lil angsty but ofc a happy ending, part of the random oct prompts collection
--
todobakudeku (x)
**kintsugi (x) - 117k - future fic where they’re all UA teachers, with some established todobaku + todobakudeku getting together, a lil sprinkle of erasercloudmic, a nice dose of shinkami and some great shiggy redemption arc + eri attending UA content
reunion (x) - 1.8k - another future fic lmao with some getting-back-together content. part of the random october prompts collection
--
kiribaku (x)
rewrite the stars (x) - 2.8k - also a mina&kiri friendship fic, a soulmate au where kiri doesn’t get the soulmate he was hoping for (part of the oct prompts collection)
the mystery gang (x) - 4.1k - tell me how i wrote this much about a scooby doo-styled fic concept lmao. anyway, part of the oct prompts, includes some bakusquad shenanigans
wasteland, baby (x) - 4.5k - bakusquad bodyswap post-apocalyptic au and yes it’s just as chaotic as it sounds lmao. part of the oct prompts collection
like the sun (x) - 2.8k - the beach episode + baku&mei friendship (which i learned is called kat and the hat???? adorable) fluffy content, part of the oct prompts collection!
something sweet (x) - 1.2k - the actual kiribaku prompt i got lmao. coffee shop meets scavenger hunt, we adore a grumpy barista baku lmao. part of the oct prompts collection
--
todokami/todo&kami
oh, worm? (x) - 16.5k - it was supposed to be a joke but oh my god i love the idea of both todo and denki being memelords and falling in love with each other over it
secret tunnel (x) - 3.6k - conspiracy theorist todo meets conspiracy theorist denki in college au format and it’s really just top tier content imo - part of the oct prompt collection
all i want for christmas (x) - 3.5k - it was supposed to be a crack concept but as per usual it became less cracky the longer i thought about it. todokami fake dating babeyyyy - part of the oct prompt collection
**hydrangea (x) - 2.9k - soft todo introspection about his lil dragon hoard of things that make him think of his friends, which he decides to share with denki
--
shiggynatsu (x)
**death of summer (x) - 28k - the first fic i ever wrote for them and the most chaotic meeting i could come up with within the realm of canon divergence lmao. todofam hosting...shmigaraki
terrible people (x) - 960 - a lil babie established shiggynatsu fic about shiggy’s bday, basically just soft and wholesome - part of the oct prompt collection
--
shinkami (x)

Summary: When Izuku found his room again, he could hear music behind the door- loud, with lots of screaming and guitars. His heart sunk a little, but he tried not to pass judgement too quickly. The guy inside was alone right now, after all. He’d probably use headphones once he met his new roommate, right? Izuku took a deep breath and twisted the doorknob, pushing it open as casually as he could to hide his nerves. He thought about the greeting he'd rehearsed in the mirror earlier today.
“Hey! I didn’t see you here earlier! It's nice to meet you, I’m--” Izuku froze in the doorway, the other man in the room mirroring him. He was holding up a sweater, clearly in the middle of putting it on a hanger when Izuku had barged in. Izuku had been preparing for a lot of possibilities behind the door, but this was not on his list.
Blond, spiky hair, and eyes like fire with a temperament to match. Katsuki Bakugou, undoubtedly.

Readers Overall: Really friggen adorable. Baku is so soft. The author does a great job at building up their relationship. This is a Modern AU but still fundamentally follows the canon backstory between BakuDeku so there is stuff to work out. Very well written.
Readers tbh
As far as slow builds go, the author layers up their relationship so well in this. Like, its super subtle and great. Izuku is a mess about it, Katsuki is a mess in a cranky way.
Lots of fun.
I like the set up and dynamic in this story a lot, like there is for sure a certain skill to college AU’s and this author has it. It’s fun and playful while not being too cliche. It’s a pretty easy fic all and all, a very well paced story line, nothing too horribly angsty or difficult.
My only problem is that their relationship goes from “Oh I like him” and getting to that finally, to “Oh we’ve been dating for a few weeks now and thats that”
Probably my own super biased opinion but after 50 or so thousand words of these two dancing around eachother it is KINDA unsatisfying to just jump forward like that with basically no content but some brief summary. Idk if the author just, didn’t know where to go from there or if they just wanted to wrap the fic up but I was kinda sad. I still really enjoyed this overall though.
