AITA for "Enabling" My Wife

I (50M) married my childhood sweetheart when we were 20 and soon had our only child Ella(22F). Unfortunately, CS died when Ella was 10, leaving us heartbroken and Ella without a mother. When Ella was 13, I married New Wife. NW isn't as pretty as CS, but she is rich and intelligent and has two daughters: Anya(20F) and Draya(23F). She was a little cold to Ella, who has always been CS's twin, and much prettier than Anya and Draya. I assumed that they would just need time to get to know each other.

Anya and Ella thankfully hit it off fast, thanks to a shared interest in gardening and butterflies. NW and Draya were at least polite to Ella, but she kept telling me that they would say nasty things to her when I wasn't around. When I asked, NW explained that Ella probably just got confused due to their accents and the adjustment period. If this is need to know, Ella and Anya are both extroverts, and NW and Draya are both introverts.

Ella never backed down, however, and it got worse when she was 15. Before her 16th birthday, both NW and I suffered financial losses. It wasn't bad that we lost my childhood home, but we couldn't keep our staff and needed to cut down on certain things. We assured the girls that it wouldn't last and that we would just need to work together to manage things until we could hire staff again.

Things soon recovered, but we never got around to hiring staff. Instead, NW insisted on getting new clothes and beauty routines for Anya and Draya. She said that all three girls were approaching marriage age and that her daughters needed the help. I agreed.

Ella protested, however, claiming that she was doing all the housework and cooking. She didn't even have her room back, since some rooms needed to be closed off for heating. NW said that it was fine and it would be good for character growth. I tried to calm Ella down by pointing out how her spouse would be so impressed that she could do everything.

Ella stopped talking to me until last year. Last year, the prince of our kingdom came with Ella to explain that they were engaged. Apparently, Ella snuck out to a local festival that she couldn't attend because she didn't have anything to wear, and they got to talking. The prince apparently even started hanging around the market so he could meet and talk with her.

I was ecstatic until Ella informed me that she was moving out and that we weren't invited to the wedding. Only Anya was invited as a bridesmaid. I was horrified- I always imagined walking Ella down the aisle, having a father-daughter dance, celebrating with her. When I asked why, she told me that I was an enabler of my wife. That I had turned a blind eye to her abuse of her because I didn't want to "rock the boat". When I tried to protest, her fiance spoke up and said that Ella hadn't even understood she was being abused and it took him gently pointing things out for her to realize. So he didn't expect me to understand either, but I had still done nothing.

He didn't let me speak to Ella while the two of them moved her stuff out, which barely took an hour with the both of them. Ella did give Anya her number and assured her that the palace would be safe for her.

Her wedding is in three days, and Anya has moved out after an argument with NW, where she said the same things about me and detailed how she felt NW failed her: from trying to force her to loose weight even though the doctor said she was fine to purposefully destroying her weed garden. She is now living with Ella as her lady-in-waiting from what I understand.

I know there are ways I failed Ella. I should've given her more attention, tried to talk to her more. But I don't think I "enabled" my wife to such a degree that she feels right to cut me off.

What should I do? How can I reach out?

It’s annoying that I keep seeing articles talking about Aaron Taylor Johnson and his wife and how they’re so flabbergasted by everyone’s “fascination” with their age gap.

Like literally she was 42 and he was 18 when they met and started dating. Hell he might have been 17 going on 18 but i can’t remember. On one of his first movie projects I might add, like this was before Kickass. And she directed him in that first movie. In fact, by the time kick ass two rolled around I think they were already married. She married him before he even turned 21.

You can’t tell me he was not groomed. That’s just point blank. There has been a power dynamic imbalance since they got together. I mean seriously, he was a year older than her oldest kid.

The white media won’t drag her like the black media dragged Draya tho. They’ll just smile and nod and say it’s okay now that he’s in his 30s.

But let’s not sit here and act like this shit is normal. Notice how she’s had a grip on his career ever since? She’s literally a director and producer in the industry. She has weight. This man barely does anything with a romantic interest and I guarantee he would be in a lot more movies if he wasn’t married to her. And most likely he would have much larger parts in the films too. Like aside from bullet train, he’s had such a minute part in every other movie. My bf and I would get excited to see his name attached to a film, only to watch it and realize he has such a small role. It’s like they use his name for clout. Like I’m still trying to remember when he pops up in Tenant. And his name is never top billed when it should be.

I think Kraven will be the first movie he leads since the A Million Little Pieces movie, and he was directed by his wife in that as well! She overly involves herself in his career. She claims they “take turns” on projects so they’re not apart from each other for too long. But it seems his career suffers the most from that arrangement because again, it’s not like he’s off for months and months on a project. He’s not the lead! So he’s there for maybe a few weeks and he’s back home. Hell in a recent interview she was complaining about being away from him for 6 weeks (the longest they’ve been apart) and how they were “never doing that again.” This man is doing press tours for a project she has nothing to do with and and she’s coming with him to every interview. Like why? Ain’t you supposed to be home with the kids bitch? While he’s doing his own thing for a few weeks? Oh yes, that’s right, she needs to control everything he does. God forbid he’s away from her for long enough to realize maybe he’s not actually happy with her.

He likes to defend her by saying he pursued her but it’s like dude, you think so? You know what that sounds like? The 12 year old student who was raped by his teacher and defended her by saying he pursued and wanted a relationship with her. He grew up, married her, and got her pregnant all while she was in prison for being with him. Guess where they are now? Divorced. So just because Aaron thinks the relationship was his idea doesn’t make it right. She had the responsibility to say no, you’re entirely too young for me. Instead she decided to just “go with the flow” and let “a good thing happen” to her after two kids and a divorce 🙄.

Please. 8 or 10 years apart, I’ll give you that. But 20 to 30 years apart AND you met the person when they were still a teenager? I’m not tryna hear that age is just a number bullshit.

Smh. He’s so far gone tho, I doubt he’ll divorce her. He might pull a Hugh Jackman years from now, but at least Hugh was in his 20s when he got with his much older wife. I don’t think she was able to brainwash him the way Aaron’s wife has done. Plus Hugh and his ex never had kids. I’m sure kids being involved makes it harder for Aaron if he’s even thinking about or thought about leaving. So I guess we’ll just see how the cookie crumbles.

I like him as an actor, but I’ve always found their relationship disturbing. So I wish they would just shut up about it and be low key. Cause one thing they seem to steer clear of talking about is the actual beginning of their relationship and the fact that he was a vulnerable, 18 year old first time actor when they met, literally just as career was starting. And he’s never mentioned about how his family feels about him being with her. Never even made a passing comment saying that they love her or anything like that. Just saying, the signs are there.

The quiet on the set documentary clearly shows how young actors are not protected. In this case he was legal, so she got away with it. Smh. I wish him the best.

I can't believe I'm feeling this way, maybe it's because I had a long weekend. Not to mention I spent way too much time trying to fix my whims the other day, but I'm losing steam. I'm ready for my guy to get hitched. Today I was too tired to go in-game, so this post is short. It concluded the house party and had I not been so busy I probably could've finished captioning and editing these handful of pics and included them with the previous post. Anyway, day 7 will be up shortly. I may press through and go in and play day 7 tonight, but I don't know if I'll get them edited and captioned.  My thoughts and behind the scenes stuff. •I almost let the show go on when Noemy died from electrocution. •I also was about to wing the house party because I was tired of not being able to figure out what was hiding my whims. (I'm glad I found it though because it was also messing with the menu too.) •Draya and Quintons romance bar did not budge that was truly just a hook up. •When Noemy died their romance bar took a hit, and he started following after Zahara. I considered it could be a glitch because the game still thought Noemy was dead. •The next day it was like it never happened. Yet it must've because both Q and Noemy had fear of death moodlets. •The party made both Draya, Noemy, Trinity very flirty, but they were the ones I saw hitting the bar the most and I have basemental so they were legitimately drunk. •Draya really did autonomously go after him in the bathroom and asked to woohoo and he really gave her the dreaded hand. She had the embarrassed moodlet afterwards. Their green bar also slightly decreased. •Chanel really did walk off while Q was talking to her. •Quinton and Noemy technically woohoo'd but that was the animation they did. I did not choose that for them. It's as if he really wanted to wait and not be in front of the cameras with her. •Their romance is now past him and Zahara's.
