Sweet years to come

the sun was slowly setting. blade ran to the roof of building. she couldn’t send out the signal at night. it’d be a clear give away! not to mention a violation of code. not that it mattered much to her.

although dark seemed concerned last time she summoned him without proper reason.

taking a deep breath the light user smoothed out any wrinkles in her dress. she wasn’t one for fashion or romance really. she had juniper help set all this up.

but the small set up of a rooftop picnic was nice. so high up that even the city lights below her feet looked like stars.

with a breath she unsheathed her sword. while usually she would be excited to see dark. there was this suffocating feeling in her chest. exciting yes but something more.

raising the blade towards the sky. she channeled her energy into it. feeling as it hit the tip of the blade before exploding into a beam in the sky. hopefully it could be mistaken as an early firework.

she waited anxiously rubbing her hands against the rim of her dress

the shadows slowly convulsed and shifted. and practically spat the dark magic user out. as if they hated his very existence.

wow harsh shadows huh..

blade took a seat on the soft blanket she had placed out and patted the spot next to her. dark stared for a moment.

before wordlessly taking a seat. admittedly a bit farther away than she would’ve liked.

he looked around taking in their surroundings. a small bottle of champagne, two glasses, and a view over the city.

“ehm..blade what..is all this?”

his voice came out soft. but the. again when did it ever really come out harsh.

“i wanted to celebrate new years with you!”

a beat a of silence “new years..?”

blade blinked. ah. “uh yeah! yknow watch the fireworks together and stuff- unless you don’t want to that’s fine i can head back down to juniper and the others-“

she was rambling now. the oddity felt like they kept happening. the light magic user felt like she was embarrassing herself in-front of dark. which in her opinion was the worst person to embarrass herself in front of right now.

dark stared at her. for an uncomfortable amount of time. although it had probably been only 20 seconds it felt like an eternity. she found herself avoiding his gaze.

a loud bang and then fizzles of light interrupted their moment of silence. both of them whipped they’re heads in the direction of the sound.

the moment of shock. was quickly worn off for blade. she looked back at dark only to see a sight that made her heart stutter.

he looked so suprised and in honesty amazed. it was..beautiful in a way. a picture perfect moment she wish she could’ve frozen in time.

the fireworks continued. hesitantly she reached her hand out. her warm hand interlocked with his. he flinched at the feeling and looked over at her.

feeling a streak of confidence. she cupped his face with her other hand.

“i wish it could stay like this forever.”

he looked at her flustered yet confused.

blade just giggled “us. together i mean. at the end of each day. i want it to be me and you.”

“i want early mornings with you dark. and late nights.”

“on days good and bad. i want it to be me and you. just like how it is right now.”

dark just stared his face clearly flustered. “forever… is a long time blade.”

the light smiled at the darkness. “i know.”

I'm convinced he can cook so damn well.

Imagine him doing the dishes with an apron on. He would be so precious! Even if you insisted on helping, he would refuse and do it for you. I swear he would treat you like royalty.

He would teach you how to fight, gently guiding you through complicated defense moves. He would definitely give you his blades.

Imagine him before bed too... letting you unbraid and brush his hair while he drinks some sort of Galra version of chamomile tea. He would be the biggest cuddle-bug too. He's just so big and warm, like a teddy bear. Although he doesn't mind being the little spoon, especially when you play with his hair.
