Hawkeye telling everyone who’ll listen that he’s scared, including Frank and old friends back home who are weirded out by it; Hawk needing to call Dickie Barber just to hear his voice; Hawk casually announcing that he and Sidney are going out to have a therapy appointment (“Sure, Doc, as long as your couch has wheels on it”) after Potter and Sidney tried to keep it politely on the downlow; Sidney asking if Hawk is upset that Potter called him and Hawkeye saying no he appreciates his concern, showing that Potter’s surreptitiousness when he asked Radar to place the call was unnecessary...

Basically Hawkeye is loud about his problems and I love it. He’s mildly regretful about weirding out Crabapple Cove with his calls but that’s pretty understandable considering it’s a small insular gossipy town and he was behaving pretty weirdly, it doesn’t stop him from calling the second time anyway lol, and it’s hardly a blip on the radar compared to Hawkeye’s concern that he’s actually losing his mind. It doesn’t detract from his unabashed emotional openness it just makes it a shade more realistic. I mention this because I recently re-read some of Hawkeye’s tv tropes page and whoever wrote most of it just goes hog wild with, well, everything lol but in this context the “people are gonna know I’m as crazy as I think I am” line, and I think that’s had an impact on how fandom takes it.

hey guys, i know it's been a while.

i don't want to keep making posts like "it's gonna be ??? time" bc it feels redundant but like. it's no secret that my relationship with writing has been really fucked.

i would like to make the following comments on the matter:

your asks are received and appreciated but i now have a job and am even more tired than before, so answering them is going to be even more sporadic. that said, every single ask is read and appreciated. ditto for comments.

i am probably not going to turn off comment moderation, as much as i am frustrated with the number of comments i have to approve. it's tiring to me to stress about missing one that would have to be deleted for whatever reason.

i'm writing for the first time in a month. like, having a proper writing session writing, not just scribbling down a few sentences. i dearly miss writing and being away from it has been harder on me than you can imagine.

i'll spare you any platitudes or promises. even in silence, your support means a lot to me. i'm excited to share what i make, even if i don't know when that'll be.

had a fucking hilarious dream that tumblr replaced the "block" function with the far funnier "glock" function, which did the exact same thing except whenever anyone blocked you a random bullet hole, like a png of a bullet hole, would appear on your blog. discourse blogs were unreadable bc you'd go to the page and the sheer amount of bullet hole pngs stacked over the blogs obscured everything. Chilchuck's scream sounds HAUNTED in brazilian portuguese. Give it a try if you can.

In spanish dub, Senshi says: "tocó mis senos de hombre", which means "he touched my man boobs" in Spanish. And I think that's the best dub line one so far.

god i wish i wouldn't have to explain the intricacies of the neopets economy to you guys to give the full context for this but. the new neopets team that took over from jumpstart pledged that they were going to curb the inflation of rare items, which is great because a lot of rare items are worth literally hundreds of millions of neopoints, they are unbuyable unless you've been playing actively for 20 years. they did this earlier with a site festival that included random loot boxes, some of which had Unbelievably Fucking Rare And Precious items worth 200 million neopoints apiece.

today they have gone a step further. by releasing this year's trick-or-treat bags. and having the trick-or-treat bags be stuffed to the brim with unbelievably fucking rare stamps, weapons, paint brushes, defense magic, and other unbuyables. (all prohibitively expensive and in-high-demand types of items.)

jellyneo, the premier neopets website, has recorded prices of some items plummeting from 2,000,000 neopoints to 4,000 neopoints IN THE LAST THREE HOURS. this is when most people haven't even heard about the event or OPENED THEIR BAGS YET.

and of course. cherry on top. 20-year-old account holders are crytyping on the site events neoboard about how mean and cruel it is to make rare stamps part of the prize pool, because their entire identity hinges on being part of the neopian bourgeoisie, and they are having MELTDOWNS over their assets being devalued until they're part of the lowly proletariat.
