okay very preliminary thoughts on mitski's new album BUT i think there's something with how "laurel hell" felt like a goodbye to the music industry (can't find the source but i remember reading that it was intended to be her last album under her contract) like i'm sorry anthony fantano but if you interpret the back half of "laurel hell" as being generic breakup songs you're missing like 80% of the context. to me TO ME it feels so clearly about her negotiating her relationship with fame, how she can't love her fans the way they love her, and how she feels like she sold her soul to her job, so the only thing to do is step away. but THEN "the land is inhospitable and so are we" was created after mitski decided to renegotiate her contract, specifically because she loved making music enough to deal with the negative aspects of the work. and then all the songs are about the ghost of love she can leave behind, despite the present pain or emptiness, and like. do you see it. do you see it.

I like thinking about young adult hunlow falling into a timepool and getting thrown back 4-5 years. They end up stumbling upon a younger Willow, who has not yet met Luz (or Hunter for that matter) and they try to lie to her but she figures it out because she is a clever little thing.
"Excuse me Miss Future Willow, is that--"
"I already told you I'm not you from the future. Stop saying that."
"Yes you are. I know you're lying because you're me and I'm also bad at lying. Now is....[discreetly points at Hunter who is standing a distance away] is he our boyfriend?"
"......Nnnnooooo....?"
"[tiny gasp] He is our boyfriend....[sparkly eyes]"

starhalo for ship bingo!
They make me sooooo very sick in the brain ever since the early days they met, they already lowkey had me hooked under a spell.
I remember how early on Etoiles asked Bad where he was often so that he could follow him around. Etoiles admitted to how he considered Bad as one of his good friends when Bad teased Etoiles about being a try hard and Dapper said that Etoiles’ words were one of the nicer things that people have said about Bad. Etoiles saying “Life is good when you’re in it” (paraphrase) to Bad when Bad was trying to help him get up once because Etoiles was attacked by a mob without having any armor on. The way he acted towards Bad was so, sooo cute!!
I also remember how Bad really wanted to take a rare dark metal dungeon to himself but instead he gave it to Etoiles and Etoiles was SO happy about it and sent hearts towards Bad in chat…happy dog wagging its tail vibes!!
There’s also that time where Etoiles asked Bad if he wanted to come with him to a dungeon but Bad couldn’t because he was taking care of the eggs but Etoiles still asked Bad repeatedly if it was okay and then Bad insisted on Etoiles going to the dangerous dungeon without him, and Etoiles just wanted Bad to have fun too - ughhhh <3 !!!
That’s not even getting into the promise that happened between them and how Etoiles wanted to help Bad out in kidnapping a person if Bad had asked him - Why are they still so underrated ;-;??
How can they not click in other people's mind like lego pieces connecting together in a clank................They went on a date before and literally wear matching armor and talk about game mechanics together ....................

"Looks like I have enough."
Day 2 of definitely following the khtober prompts properly - keyblade
It's such a shame that the part of the fight where Zexion copies Riku's sword and then wrecks shop with it himself isn't a scripted thing and is completely avoidable if you're actually good at the game because it's cool as fuck and everyone needs to know it's a thing that can happen

The double standard c!Phil has for c!Ranboo vs c!Fundy is so frickin' funny to me.
Fundy demanding to know why his grandpa hates him and Phil incredulously shouting about how he tried to murder his best friend in front of him, but when Fundy flips it around to point our that Ranboo was just as involved in that Phil is immediately spouting the most Ranboo-apologism anyone has ever spoken.

Wait you guys......
Mike and Will are in love
No because like they're just...they're just a wholesome childhood friends to lovers slowburn I'm gonna rewatch like "aww you don't know yet".
Like....
Mike and Will are in love.
They fell in love from ages 12-16(?). That's so cute. What the hell. I just randomly starting thinking about it like it's just some show I just heard about or something and I'm like "aw cute trope". What a cute trope wtf. That's adorable. Two twelve year old boys in the 80s and they fall in love over the course of many years as they grapple with internalized homophobia and homophobia in their small town? That sounds like a GREAT show where can I watch it? That's adorable.
Mike and Will are in love. And...that's just the premise. That's just the premise of their plot. If you came up to me after you watched episode 1 for spoilers and you were like "What happens to Lucas? Dustin? Mike? That girl they found? The kid who went missing?" I could just be like "Dustin gains confidence and becomes besties with Mike's sister's boyfriend after they break up, Lucas meets this girl who's introduced next season and they're really good for each other, the girl gets adopted by the police chief and then into the Byers and has a great found family and independence arc, and the boy who went missing survives and he and Mike fall in love!"
And that'd just be like...right. I'd just be telling you what happens.

I feel like recently, ADHD has kind of become shorthand for “a person who is annoying online and has no real problems,” and I don’t really think that’s awesome news, given the context that ADHD has a long history of being disregarded as a made up disorder that’s just an excuse for poor/obnoxious behavior, no matter how much scientific research proves otherwise. ADHD is not by any means the only disorder that has people making a thousand misleading tiktoks about it, so perhaps do some critical thinking about why specifically ADHD has become the poster child for that behavior. There are certainly valid criticisms to be made of the way we discuss mental health online, but maybe use your brain and determine why this disorder in particular is the one that’s easiest to point at for being “annoying” and “not that big of a deal.”

—————————————
What if Link does manage to get Zelda back after defeating Ganondorf. He truly finds her and she’s no longer a dragon, but she isn’t Hylian either. Not entirely. She comes back with some features left over from the dragonification process. Still, she’s recognizable as the Princess, as Zelda.
It comes as a shock to Link when he realizes that Zelda doesn’t have a sense of self anymore; at least, not as the Princess of Hyrule. She can’t seem to remember herself as she was before it all. It makes sense, he thinks. She’s been an immortal being, an immortal dragon, for so long now that it stands to reason that she’s lost sight of the Hylian she once was. Zelda, at the very least, knows something is off, but she doesn’t know what she’s lost. Not quite.
She doesn’t know why she’s there; furthermore, she doesn’t understand why she’s mortal now. Zelda lost her immortality and her connection with the other great dragons she would often fly with. She felt every bit of her connection with herself as an immortal being getting ripped away from her. Alive as she is, she can feel her body dying all around her. She finds herself missing what she once was.
She’s not entirely lost herself, and people who knew her can see that she’s still there somewhere, but it’s buried so far into her mind. What’s worse is that she can’t understand why everyone looks at her with such sadness in their eyes.
